I have been coming to the Starbucks for over three years since I moved to the area. It is super convenient as it is centrally located in downtown Arlington Heights. It is quite small, so this is not really a place to hang out or stay but there is seating outside during the weathered months. Parking is hard to find on the ground level however, there is parking underneath that that is free. Every time I come here the staff is super nice, so no complaints there and everything moves pretty quickly. It's a great stop in between shopping or even after a meal to grab a coffee or in between errands as well. read more

I only ordered a cup of dark roast. They had 6 staff working behind the counter, and it took over 10 minutes to make it. When I go to other Starbucks, they literally make my coffee right after I order regardless of people waiting for their drinks because it only takes a few seconds to make! And the staff are NOT friendly at all! This is not the first time I felt this way at this Starbucks. No smiles, very intense atmosphere from 8am on Saturday morning! I have been going to this location since 2008 and have never felt so attacked and it speaks to the management by a woman there. I was speaking with a friend of mine. I have just left my ex husband and it resulted in him taking my home. The manager was so rude because she has never met me. I was verbally told to calm down and shut up and leave by a fellow customer. Instead of asking nicely and asking me to speak softer, the manager makes me feel like the other customer is in the right. She is clearly someone who hates women because she laughed in my face about how young girls like me are losers and that he was a long term customer. I don't think a long term customer matters. I have had a Starbucks gold card since 2010. That doesn't make me better or worse than that man. However it was clear she didn't care about me or my well being. She does not represent the Starbucks I know and should be assessed for her extremely unprofessional behavior of laughing (out loud) about how much of a loser I am. Besides that, the other employees were very kind. And, as always, the coffee was delicious. I ordered a venti hazelnut latte with oat milk. Starbucks has got different styles of coffee-making methods that you have never tried before. I have been a loyal customer since I could remember, and I always enjoy their servings. This Starbucks is great! The coffee is great, and the baristas are super super friendly. I have a dairy allergy, and a super sweet red/headed barista named Lia goes above and beyond to make sure that my drink is free of any dairy. Sometimes at other coffee spots it can be tricky with employees not washing the blender in between uses, but I never feel fearful when she is making my drink! This is probably the worst Starbucks location ever. There are maybe 5 tables in the whole store, the layout is so awkward, line ups are a pain as there is nowhere to stand, and if you have a stroller you are SOL because it's hard to open the door and try to walk right into 12 people waiting for their drinks. Management here is always changing, right now he is nice enough, but there have been some rude and unfriendly managers here. Service is a crapshoot, it's usually slow and no one cares to know your name. I've tripped over their coffee shipments that are in the middle of the way right by their bathrooms, broken my toe and the barista didn't even acknowledge that maybe they should move the things out of customer way. There is no drive thru, parking is terrible, and an odd thing is that it says the disabled entrance is in the front, but when you go there, there are no automatic doors.... so how is someone supposed to get in without help? Anyhow, this Starbucks would benefit from moving to a different location and providing more customer service training to their staff. Starbucks delivers a consistent product that tastes delicious from coffeehouse to coffeehouse. Yes, I agree the brand brings people in, but in addition, the taste brings them back for more. Plus, that green and white designed cup is stamped in your mind forever. I tend to debate pulling over at this Starbucks, located in downtown Arlington Heights, whether by distance its the convenient option or not. The parking lot, that you must circle numerous times, for this Starbucks is a royal pain in my behind. I usually have to circle two or three times before possibly finding a spot. All the while, I contemplate just parking in the two parking spots reserved for California Pizza Kitchen's curbside pick up. I mean, walking in and out for my latte will take all of 4 minutes. How about a Starbucks curbside pick up, eh? There is street parking, although about the same difficulty to find a spot. There is also a large parking lot below ground where you may easily find a spot if you don't want to torture yourself driving in circles just so that you may park within steps to your frothy latte. As for the interior of this Starbucks, it is a small and somewhat cold environment. I do not find it an inviting space to study or get work done while you enjoy your beverage. Once the summer rolls around, I do find their outdoor seating area to be a nice spot to sit, sip, and surf the internet, or whatever your heart desires. read more

This place is hit-or-miss. It's in a convenient downtown Arlington Heights location but parking is always a gamble. Also, if there is a line, expect to wait a good 20 minutes. If there's no line, power to you! No drive-through in this location. There's also not a lot of room to wait, so expect to be squished into a corner with all the other people waiting on their drinks. read more

My go to Starbucks the staff is amazing here they always have a smile on their faces and super friendly. They are quick and efficient and if there is ever a problem with your order they fix it with no questions asked. My only complaint is that it is very small and they layout makes it a little difficult with a crowd also the parking is very difficult with it being in a plaza with other shops and a movie theater.. there is an under ground parking garage but I don't really want to be parking downstairs if I am trying to make a quick trip in to get a coffee. read more

First of all, I used to be a barista. I hate reading negative reviews because, HEY PEOPLE IT'S JUST COFFEE. Every store is different. Every environment is different. Do you know what it takes to make lattes? to be happy ? to pretend sometimes? to have a terrible manager? to have stress that you have to warm food, make coffee, mark cups, have everything not dirty in case the health department comes, condo bar clean... the list goes on. So now that I stated that then I would like to say I have been coming to this Starbucks for three years. I know the baristas inside and out. I have known both managers, although I prefer Amanda, that have worked here. They have never gotten my drink wrong. They have never steered me wrong with anything here. During their rush they get stressed because they are understaffed which is not their fault, it would be the managers fault. I love all of these baristas in the morning a lot. I recommend coming here, sitting on the patio or by the bar, and reading your newspaper. Anyways, best Starbucks i have ever been too. I have been to quite a few. Don't listen to the negative reviews about messing up a Chai Latte, maybe it was a new barista and she was struggling but they always give a free drink coupon here if they mess up and a new drink. Love this location! The people work hard, they are polite, friendly, and spirited. Today was the 4th of July parade downtown, and the shop got so busy. Their equipment failed, and they couldn't make the drink I requested, but offered to make something else, and offered to reimburse! Reimbursement was not necessary; they deserved their profit. This is, as pointed out by previous reviews, a fairly small Starbucks. It does, however, have a very nice patio during the warm seasons that centers you in the middle of the shopping and movie bustle of the plaza. The inside seating is for about 12-14 people and fills quickly. Their hours are later than most in the area, which I appreciate. Winter closing hours are 9:30pm through the week (Sun-Thur) and 11pm on Fri & Sat. The on thing that makes this Starbucks stand out against some of the others is their staff. They are always very welcoming and friendly and actually engage in light conversation. There is plenty of parking in the plaza parking lot, on the street and in the well lit garage located under the plaza. read more

This is not what a Starbucks is about. Check in and out is pretty slow...the real bad part is if they don't have what you'd like the barista improvises and tries to make you believe the drink you are getting is the same thing you ordered. This is the WORST Starbuck's I have been too. I may not like their coffee but I love their Chai tea lattes... ok it is a STANDARD ITEM on their menu... As a side note.... the indoor seating & size at this Starbuck's location is lacking considering its location. This has to be one of the smallest Starbuck's I have been in - but one of the busiest. Why review a Starbucks? Because they are all different. I've always had good and efficient service here. The inside space is small, very small. Good luck finding a place to sit and hang out. The outdoor patio is large with many small tables, but little shade. That said, it is set back from the street and blocked from traffic noise by the building. There are even three park benches. This location is right downtown, near the train, theaters, shops, and restaurants. Parking is ample in the downstairs garage. Don't waste your time circling the tiny lot. Just don't. The morning Barrista are great especially Amy,the place is too small, need to expand or move to larger place, There heaters is non existent, their air conditioner is alway on, you freeze in the winter, told the barista to put the heater on, was told it was control by headquarters, that is the most stupid answer to give .how can headquarters in Seattle control the heat in Arlington Heights Il. One barista told me it is hot by them so they keep the air conditioner on, what need to be done is put one system for the barista and one for the customers so the customer don't freeze . What also need to be done is have the Batista sit where the customer sit by the coffee bar area with short sleeves shirts so they feel what the customer feel. Very disappointed with the Green Tea Latte. It has been my favorite and only reason to go to Starbucks. I ordered it in other locations and had been very satisfied with it. The barista from yesterday afternoon must be new??? Dumping a load of matcha that the bottom looked like science experiment. Tried to stir it more but tasted really bad. My stepson asked me to get a vanilla frafaccino and it looked a snowball cap with vanilla bean at the bottom. There's no coffee! Just taste like a plain vanilla smoothie! The worst thing is they are not busy and it's 445 in Sunday afternoon 07/30/17. She didn't even give my receipt or change.
