Their drinks are fantastic. I wish that they weren't so hard to get to (sometimes, anyway) because I was really happy with the drinks I picked up. The parking situation is just the spaces to the east of the station, which I thought were for train parking but apparently they are 15 minute spaces--just sometimes it's a busy place I suppose. Anyway, they had a huge list of specials when I stopped in. I was going to get a chai latte but when I saw they had a raspberry hot chocolate I couldn't pass it up. And it was an excellent choice, truly delicious. It was super thick and smooth and an excellent concoction; I don't know if I've seen this before and not sure why more places don't incorporate something like this into their February/Valentine's specials. I also picked up a butterscotch latte and sugar cookie latte for my friends and both of them were gushing over how great they tasted. This is one of those coffee spots that is worth supporting, especially over the Starbucks' of the world, so it's worth your time if your around.

Ube latte and boba - Two iced beverages are positioned on a concrete surface outdoors. The drink on the left is purple with black tapioca pearls at the bottom, likely a taro or ube flavored drink. The drink on the right has a layered appearance with brown and purple hues, possibly an iced coffee or tea with flavoring. The background shows a street scene with cars, a sidewalk, and storefronts, indicating a casual outdoor setting near a coffee shop or cafe.

Found this little gem of a cafe randomly as I needed coffee while in the area for a family event. I may be biased because I'm half Filipino but I absolutely love the menu because they do have familiar Filipino flavors like Ube, Calamansi and coconut. Ordered 2 different Ube drinks and both were delicious. I'm rarely in this area when I'm in town but if I were I'd return so please do try it!

Iced ube latte - A person with red nail polish holds an iced ube latte in a clear plastic cup with a black straw, inside a car. The dashboard and steering wheel are visible, and the background shows a blue sky and traffic signals outside. The drink has a purple hue at the bottom and a creamy top layer.

This charming cafe is located inside the Metra station in downtown Des Plaines. The vibe is chill and their menu has alot to offer from coffee, boba, and snacks. As a filipino, of course I ordered an iced ube latte. And lemme tell you... it was the smoothest & creamiest latte I've ever had!!!! So delicious. So high quality. The sweetness was perfection. I'm very particular about ube flavoring in drinks or food and they have perfected it to a tee. I could see myself driving out of the way to get coffee here!

The image shows a coffee shop located inside a train station, with a counter made of wood and black panels. Above the counter are menu boards listing espresso, coffee, signature lattes, and specialty drinks. A chalkboard menu on a stand is positioned in front of the counter, displaying additional offerings. The shop's interior includes a green tiled wall with decorative plants and equipment for preparing beverages. The setting appears to be a grab-and-go style coffee shop.

Brew Coffee Lab is a fun experience! The coffee shop is connected to the Des Plaines Metra stops so, firstly, it has a unique vibe to the shop. Second, it's a family owned shop which is really cool. They have family photos around the shop and an extensive menu. The barista was really cool to order from, answered all of my questions, and also elaborated that his older brother owns it and all the photos are of the brothers themselves so that was cool to see. I got The Maurice, iced, which is a latte with Nutella and chai. I also asked for oat milk and the drink was so good, I drank it all before I even got back to my car. Next time though, I'll order food! They had Filipino food type of snacks and sandwiches so that'll be exciting for next time!

EASY add to Top Five coffee spots I've now been to in the Chicagoland burbs. Brew Coffee Lab has been open for 2 years and is located in the downtown Des Plaines train station (which can make parking a bit difficult). Their quality of coffees and teas as well as flavor profiles quickly makes up for that. Looking at the menu, it was hard to decide what to pick! I ended up deciding on the La Vie En Rose which mixed rose syrup with white mocha and espresso. The flavors balanced well off each other and tasted great. My partner got the London Fog which they made fresh for him! The 5 minute wait was worth it because it may have been one of the best London Fogs I've tried! Pricing was very fair and there's something for everyone on the menu. Not sold yet? This cute coffee shop is owned and ran by three brothers. The youngest brother was working there and explained some of the backstory as well as the witty decor displayed. This is the epitome of a small business to support! Cannot wait for the next time I will be in the area to try another drink flavor!

Starbucks matcha latte on the left :), Brew lab matcha latte on the right :(

Based on their unsweetened oatmilk matcha latte I would give this spot zero stars. No matcha taste. It was warm oatmilk with a slight tint. I went and got a Starbucks unsweetened oatmilk matcha latte right after. You can see the color comparison in the pic. If in the area I may try their coffee but def not a matcha again!

I'm not a coffee guy, but my coffee shop go-to is always a chai latte~ Drinks here are nice, a little heavy on the syrup, which is nice if you're into sweeter drinks. Specifically on their Ubechatta Latte and Banana Chai Latte. Staff here is nice and friendly as well :D

For a coffee shop near the metro, I didn't know what to expect. Luckily, what I got was great. I ordered the Ube latte, and I enjoyed it as much as others I have had throughout Chicago. It is hard to say we're I'd rank this among the other offerings I have found for ube lattes, but I can say that you won't be dissatisfied with this one. It was smooth and silky with a subtle sweetness from the ube flavor. I am not sure what espresso brand they are using, but it's presence was noticeable in a good way. Service was quick, but a bit rushed as I had no time to specify my milk choice for the latte. I did come in roughly 20 minutes before closing, so I can understand wanting to be done for the day. There were also many other unique options for lattes, so there is something everyone could joy it seems. I do recommend using half & half (breve) in lattes for a silkier texture and smoother taste.

Specialty donut flavor...what's left - A close-up of a cinnamon sugar donut with a layer of cream and walnut pieces on top. The donut is placed on white paper, with some crumbs visible around it. The toppings include a generous dusting of cinnamon sugar, cream, and whole walnuts, indicating a sweet pastry served in a bakery or cafe environment.

Fun & adventurous menu with seasonal offerings. Interesting & unique flavor combinations.

Had heard a lot about Brew coffee lab and decided to give it a try. We ordered the pistachio donut latte, white mocha croffle and Ferraro rocher croffle. This was the first time I had ever heard about croffle. What an interesting cross of a croissant and a waffle. The pistachio donut latte had a weird aftertaste maybe because of the syrup used but wasn't bad overall. I didn't try the croffle as I was getting it for a friend but it did look delicious. The service was very slow though. We had to wait easily for 15-20 mins. It's a small cafe close to the des plaines station.

A rectangular menu board at Brew Coffee Lab in Des Plaines, IL, features sections for tea, matcha, juice, and sips. The tea and matcha section includes various latte options with prices, while the juice and sips section lists beverages like lemonade and energy drinks with prices. The menu is mounted on a wall beneath a round Brew Coffee Lab sign. The background shows part of the interior with ceiling lights and a partial view of the station environment.

This is such a cool spot to grab a cup of coffee! I was in the area and wanted a latte after lunch, and came across Brew Coffee Lab thanks to Yelp! Do not be hesitant to try this place out just because it it located inside the Des Plaines train station. They have an a large part of the station dedicated to their business (spacious counter and kitchenette). There were only two workers taking orders and making drinks. For 1pm on a Sunday, there was a small line of people waiting to place their orders, so we did have to wait a bit longer than what I am used to. However, the drinks are definitely worth the wait! I am a huge fan of pistachio flavored drinks, so when I saw there was a Pistachio Donut latte, I had to order it! It tasted just as good as the name implies. The pistachio flavor was evidently there, but did not overpower the almost cake like flavor of the donut part. My parents split the iced ube latte and could not stop raving about it. The ratio to espresso and milk was perfect, with the ube flavor being subtle yet flavorful! Brew Coffee Lab is a unique spot to get a cup of coffee. The menu is very extensive, with Filipino inspired drinks such as Calamansi Juice with Lychee Jelly. I wonder if the owners are Filipino. They also offer boba, croffles, and breakfast sandwiches. If I lived closer, I would be at Brew Coffee Lab every week! It is definitely a must try!

Driving, this place could be missed. If it's taste tantalizing coffee that's desired, don't miss this place! It's in the MP train station. Our order: #1 Daughter - Brown Sugar Dolce (triple shot) whole milk and #1 daughter companion - Honeymilk (cinnamon and honey (request: a little less sweet)). The BSD got a yum on the first sip. Definitely a get-again. For the honeymilk, the sweetness was a concern and asked about. The barista suggested a little less sweet on the honey ingredient. Perfecto! Definitely a get-again too.

The menu when you walk in - The image shows an interior section of Brew Coffee Lab, featuring a menu board listing coffee, tea, and juice drinks, including flavors like Ube latte and Strawberry Mango. A round Brew Coffee Lab sign with a pink background and black text is mounted on the wall. Below the sign, part of the cafe's counter area is visible, with shelves holding cups and equipment, and decorative plants. The setting appears to be a modern coffee shop with a focus on specialty beverages.

Really great service really friendly worker behind the counter the day after Thanksgiving too. I'm told that they have their beans roasted out in the suburbs and I was able to buy a bag of medium roast of beans as a gift for a coffee lover right know. This coffee shop is located in the waiting room for the train station, and while their seats around for waiting for the train, the ambulances, bright and cheery and the seats are basic benches and this cold November day

Went with their all spice mofawar, and a cleaner palate one Qishr since hubby wanted something tea-like. After ordering all that, we noticed there's a separate tea option that had a citrusy flavor so we got the sunlit tangerine also. The drinks were very strong in a whole mix of spice flavors, which I actually really liked, but it is a little too watery, not dense or creamy enough, and the coffee flavor lean a bit more too acidic/sour. It's not bad, but I think it's just not exactly to my liking. What I didn't realize was that a lot of the spices sunk to the bottom so when I remixed the thic layer of spices with oatmilk at home, it tasted pretty good with the right consistency. All of the drinks were pretty diluted in our opinion, and I think it's too much spice for my husband although I liked it. I also ordered some pastries, but the server packed the wrong one. If I didn't look closely enough I might've missed that. There was one last Dubai pistachio cookie which I asked for, but they gave me the Biscoff cookie instead which was a less expensive one. Anyway, they were fine switching it out after I pointed out, but no apologies or anything. While we weren't impressed with the drinks at first, the medovik mouse/honey layered cake was really good-- it was pretty dense where the buttery parts were, and it was pretty sweet so it balanced well with the acidic coffee. We didn't know the cookie had more fillings on the inside until we got home. The fillings had crunchy flakes which adds a really nice texture, and the filling is not too sweet. Really good. We liked the pastries a lot more than the coffee. Perhaps we just aren't used to the flavor and taste profile of the coffee. I'd be willing to try more here.
