I came here because I was eighth in line waiting at the Target Starbucks. It was seemingly quicker to get the car, drive across the parking lot and get into the drive thru line to get a drink. I got a lavender type of chai. It really reminded me of a candle or like accidentally tasting cologne. I like chewing lavender leaves so I think it's a combination of everything that I didn't love together but enjoy separately. I like trying new drinks this one was just not my thing. read more

This is a new store and they are working out the bugs so know they will not always be perfect but they are only getting better. The reasoning is they have taken lots of the employees from other stores and this store has new things never before in Alaska. Some of the new things are Starbucks Reserve - exotic, rare & exquisite coffee. That taste amazing every time! They also have my favorite thing on the planet the Starbucks Clover brewing system. This is best described as a very expensive French press that will maximize your flavor and taste profile of the Reserve Coffee. I have had this amazing coffee in many states and I will tell you it taste great! I drive past 3 Starbucks just to get a clover brew! The staff here are great and will fix anything if it's wrong you just have to tell them. The drive thru is fast and efficient. I think this is one of the better Starbucks locations around Anchorage. Although a little odd that there is also a Starbucks in the Target right across the parking lot, this location is far better. Coffee is your standard Starbucks fare - always consistent and tastes the same regardless of the location. The store is spacious with numerous tables of different sizes and heights. There are even barstool height tables as well as a long bank of seats along the window. Outlets can be hit or miss, but can usually find somewhere. There are also four comfortable chairs next to the fireplace which is a great spot if you don't need a computer and just want to sit and talk or read the newspaper. Good WiFi through the Starbucks network. There are two gender neutral bathrooms. One of the main attractions to this location is also the friendly staff who frequently greet you as you enter and generally are quite pleasant when you place your order. Plenty of parking as this is the Target parking lot. There is also a drive-through. All in all, great place to meet with friends, study, or just quickly stop in for a quick brew. I actually do like that they're not all the way up in the food court so we can grab a drink on the go (usually cold because lots of the stores in the mall are too hot while you shop). The staff today was super friendly even though it was minutes before closing and made my son a Pokémon Go frapp with a huge smile. Other times we've gone there have been long lines but the drinks came out fast. There really isn't anywhere to sit other than mall benches but again I always just grab a drink to carry around with me. read more

Visiting this Starbucks has always been a pleasant experience from the customer service to studying time. This location is across from Target and next door to Xalos Burrito Express off of 100th Ave. and C St. in a new, not-fully developed strip mall. The seating area is by far the best of all the Starbucks locations in town and crowding as well as noise has never been an issue here for me. The tables and chairs are spread out far apart to utilize the most amount of space they have and there are plenty of outlets available along the counter seats by the window, the counter by the coffee machines, and the high tables against the wall for your portable device. Employees here are very friendly and eager to help and they know how to make a good cup of coffee especially with the Starbucks Reserves, coffees that are from various countries like Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Jamaica, and Indonesia to name a few (the only Starbucks location in town that sells these premiere coffees). I decided to get a 16 oz. Congo Lake Kivu blend and a Dark Chocolate Sea Salt waffle cookie by Rip van Wafels imported from Amsterdam, Holland to complement the drink. The Congo blend was strong yet smooth. Adding milk or cream was unnecessary for such a fine blend. The Reserves are the types of drip coffees that Starbucks needs to promote rather than the regular drip coffee which is well known for the bad aftertaste that lingers in your mouth for awhile. The Dutch waffle cookie was delicious and a great choice for an afternoon snack with the coffee. Pastries are the same as in any other location, but there were some interesting additions I came across since the last time I was here. They now have an eclectic mix of snacks which includes dark or milk chocolate bars containing pieces of bacon or potato chips inside, gummy bears made with blackberry hibiscus, gluten free turkey or beef jerky, and puffed apple snacks which closely resemble popcorn. As someone who is a stickler when it comes to seating space and the noise level, this is one of the few coffee shops that is ideal for studying and reading for a couple of hours in a town that has too many cramped and noisy cafes to stay in for an extended amount of time. read more

All I got to say is Jordan and Hunter hate their jobs so much they shouldnt be working there. Jordan rolls her eyes whenever questioned regarding your drink being wrong. Hunter will flat out talk crap about you and your drink to his friends not realizing that your standing right there. I miss the previous downtown location as there was ample seating inside and out. Hardworking friendly barista and counter staff tried to do what they could for me, but they were sold out of the two higher protein less carbohydrate food options I like to buy. The barista discovered a minor error before he handed me the drink and remade it on his own. I'm not that picky and would have accepted it, but I appreciate his effort. I'll just get my beverage at the Hotel's coffee shop from now or at one of the other two coffee shops I walked by on my way here as it's no longer worth making the trek here on foot anymore. read more

My favorite coffee spot, spacious, clean, friendly staff and quality cuppa. It also has outside seatings, great a sunny summer day.

I just realized I never updated my review. I would say the employees have improved immensely! They're very personable and it no longer feels like they're ignoring everyone for the regulars. They're more organized than the last time I left a review, when they kept losing or forgetting orders. The only issue is the drinks here always taste slightly off compared to other locations. Almost like the syrup is expired. The last time I stopped in another customer had made the same complaint and the barista noted she tasted a difference too and said they probably changed the syrup, but other locations the syrup taste like it always has. read more

This mall Starbucks has only 4 two seat tables, and is no where near the food court. No city mugs in stock, very important for a traveling looking for an Anchorage Mug for the collection. Very Slow internet!! Went there to work on my online class and I couldn't even open up the lecture video. I think that the owner of this franchise location didn't purchase enough wifi to accommodate its patrons as it was empty and no reason for slowest internet I've experienced in a long time! I am enough of a Starbucks user to have a Starbucks card and I find it convenient to use it at this Starbucks and work at one of the high tables. WiFi is of the usual Starbucks medium throughput and high reliability. Bathrooms are well tended and clean. Staff is extremely positive, energetic and well-mannered. People like coming here. My ONE negative: The music. Selection has apparently gone to one Starbucks variety background package, played in every Starbucks everywhere, and it is frequently not very good. Making it even worse is that many of the tracks are fed to the speaker not harmonically balanced so that there might be five minutes of muddy bass with the vocals barely noticeable. I notice no one complaining about it (the Starbucks staff wears earphones to conduct their drive-thru business) and customers who come to work show up with over-the-ear headphones and I am considering this as well. I can remember when Starbucks was proud of their music and sold their own line of CDs and I would often hear new performers and tracks that were interesting and I'd ask about 'em. No longer. Christmas was especially loathsome with many bad covers played again and again, and again without good sonic balance. read more
