I ordered a Royal English tea latte, vente. First they gave me a grande, so I pointed out the error and after another wait, got a vente. Then after I left and got home I tasted it and realized that yet again they had fobbed me off with bloody Earl Grey instead of Royal English!!!!!. This is the 5th ( and last time) this has happened.I didn't go back to the store as I live 10 miles away from it and its not worth wasting a gallon of gas. I know people love to come to Starbucks to use their free wifi and do their freelance jig and all, and this is really no reflection on the business itself. So I preface this story with a large disclaimer. But... If you are a young-ish man who is sitting alone at a table, ostensibly working during "work hours" (9-5 on a weekday), and two young-ish women come in with laptops and set about working... You should probably let them work, and not try to hit them up for dates or referrals to whatever company you claim to work for. I live in this town, so I don't want to name names here (and trust me, he passed me a card, so I *could* name names here!)... but really. Be a little classy, be a little self-aware, guy. And guys, in general. Be polite. Yes, we are maybe talking about some exciting and arousing subjects. That's our line of work. That's our business. Keep it in your pants. You can make conversation, if you have something to offer. But when we both turn to our laptops and go silent, that is not-so-secret code for "We're working now; please STFU." I'm sure you run into this at work, assuming you work in an office? Or have once or twice? Yeah. Anyway, like I said, not a diss on this Starbucks. They can't help the backwards hicks or miscreants that end up frequenting their establishment. They serve what they serve, and they do what they do. They are good at what they do, serving coffee and keeping the lines moving. And there will always be dickwads, it seems, even in broad daylight. But if I were to rate *those people*? I'd give them a -10 for creepiness. And I'd tell them to move the fuck on, because neither Starbucks nor their customers appreciate their schtick. F'reals. read more

This is more or less a standard Starbucks just like any other. It sits on a parking lot of perhaps the biggest shopping center in Alpine which also houses an Albertsons and a Wells Fargo. Service is friendly and usually fast. Lines may vary depending on the amount of people at the time but not on the staff working the bar. Drawback (minus 1 star): Starbucks has free wi-fi but not enough tables by power outlets. I stopped once to complete some work issues I had going and the only table that fit my needs was the table deemed "accessible" for wheelchairs. Had someone come and needed the table I would have moved but that was not the case this time. read more

I absolutely love going to this Starbucks! The staff is very friendly and my drinks are always made to taste great. This is one of those places where you walk into and the staff knows you by name and even knows what drink you want. After running the card, the cashier told me they were out of receipt paper and couldn't give me a receipt. (Whoops.) Hello alpine starbucks. From one barista to another I just wanted to leave a lil observation of mine. 99% of the time when i come to your store there are around 3 to 4 baristas working, but for some reason there is only 1 barista working on making the drinks. And since i work at starbucks i understand breaks and lunches need to be run but at least concerning today (8-14-21 @ 3pm) there was 1 barista rockin it on ringing, 1 barista doing her very best on bar (solo no help), 1 barista breaking down the cold bar and the shift in the back pulling frozen pastries from the back freezer. I was able to observe all of this because it took over 20min to get my drinks. There were 2 mobil order pick ups waiting for their drinks, me and one other cafe customer waiting for our drinks and 4 other cafe customers waiting to be rung up for their orders. 1 customer actually left before getting rung up because of the wait. I say all of this because this is not the 1st time this has happened when i stop in at your store and i just wanted to make you aware of it. I hope this helps. read more

I love this Starbucks. I just moved here 3 weeks ago and have gotten nothing but good service. Today a young man, whom I have not seen before, waited on me. Usually when I order a "short" I ask that they not double-cup it (to save a tree). As soon as I requested that he threw the extra cup away!!! So glad to have this option here in Alpine. I've always had good service and the staff has been nice. Nothing outstanding, it's what you'd expect from a Starbucks. My only complaint is the parking can get a little crammed in the smaller lot. I recommend parking on the side of Starbucks closer to Albertsons. A lot more parking available there so it's not as crowded. read more

Waited 15 minutes for it to be done and then the barista tells me that they are out of uncut eggnog and that he he just made it the regular way. I am really disappointed in the quality of my coffee the last couple of weeks. I order online because I am really busy with school and work, and life in general. I found that the mobile ordering was super convenient for me. In the last couple of weeks I have ordered my coffee online and it tastes nothing like what is advertised. My orders have extras added to them, and when I go to taste my coffee it doesn't taste like the extras are even in there. The coffee is either really weak and taste like water, or just like hot milk. Sometimes they add too much flavors and it's overly sweet. I just ordered a white mocha this morning and it taste like Folgers flavored milk. I can get that at work for free. I wish I could drive back there and have them remake it properly, but I am stuck on a 12 hr shift. I just spent over $5 for coffee flavored milk. It tastes nothing like a white mocha should. In the past the coffee was pretty good and worth it and tasted exactly as they were advertised. Really disappointed. read more

BEST STARBUCKS EVER!!!! I had to write a review on here and be sure everyone knows how amazing the staff is. Alpine is a small to town. As a local I do enjoy going to a place and yes... I'll be referencing "Cheers" where everybody knows your name! And drink even as complicated as it can be. :) Please keep in mind with this Starbucks being located right off the 8 FWY if you're coming from San Diego going East towards pine valley it'll be your first Starbucks after you pass El Cajon/Lakeside, and if you're heading west towards San Diego from Pine Valley it's your first Starbucks you'll hit before you get into El Cajon and San Diego. That being said, you'll have folks who are passing by to and from. Folks stopping In before they hit the Viejas Casino and restore or outlets. I've come multiple times of days, and different hours. So as busy as it can be and it can get I'm always greeted by the staff with a warm welcome smile. All businesses tend to get busy during high traffic times. What store or business doesn't? So during downtime or slower traffic Ive seen the store manager and her staff work very hard to make sure the store is clean and organized. Trash taken out, counter tops wiped clean and even replenish their straws and sugar station. With any business certain supplies run out here and there, Drink stoppers, white mocha, syrups and maybe even drink carriers. But the staff uses innovation to continue to make sure I'm a satisfied customer. With the mobile order now available, it's makes life so much easier. I mean I have a complicated drink period. So on the days I'm running late I'll order my simple tea. But when I choose my white mocha I'll need to get in line to place my complicated order. I mean I don't mind waiting an additional 10-20 minutes for my drink.... a drink that would be made the way I ordered it. Wouldn't you? And if they made a mistake, the baristas are very quick to make sure your order is "JUST RIGHT". Destiny is always great with making sure I'm well aware of any updated bakery selections. I mean even though it's visible for me to view she is very informative. I mean she's gotten me hooked onto the new chocolate hazelnut croissant. Both my husband and I make sure before we leave into San Diego or even begin our adventures for the day, we stop at our local Starbucks. I mean we can go to any location we seek but they just don't have that touch that this store has. Plus no other baristas out there can compare to the ones we have in Alpine. With the adventures my husband and I seek and that other Starbucks we've entered it just doesn't compare to the friendly environment, the great staff, clean environment , and awesome locals. Consistently poor service. I go to Starbucks expecting a nice atmosphere and a finely crafted beverage, this Starbucks is like going to McDonald's and paying a lot for a coffee. There are never enough people working, the staff turnover is such that you never know what you're going to get and the drinks are sloppily thrown together and of poor quality. When I pay $5 for a beverage I want it exactly how I ordered, this very rarely happens and I'm usually feeling disappointed and kind of ripped off when I leave - also they are always running out of flavors and supplies like drink carriers, I bought 5 drinks today and had to figure out how to get them home, I've contacted Starbucks about this several times but nothing changes :( read more

I was super excited that Starbucks finally made it to Alpine! In the beginning I was pretty turned off by the quality of the drinks and the efficiency. I rarely went there. Nowadays, I only go there when I'm desperate for a latte and won't get disappointed when it doesn't taste quite the same as at other locations. The display case isn't usually full and the food in there doesn't look so fresh. I don't want this Starbucks to go away--I just want it to get better! Faster service would be awesome. Refreshing drinks would be so nice--drinks that "hit the spot". Nicer staff with better customer service would be cool. And fresh pastries would really be nice! Customer Service was poor. My drink was wrong, Had to go back to get whipped cream on my drink. The staff was " like what do you want me to do"? Add the whipped cream please. My order exceeded the amount left on my SB gold card by three cents, the staff made me break a $10.00 for the additional .03 cents. I thought if they had taken the .03 cents from the tip jar I would have given them a $1.00 tip. I wanted to try a sample of one of the recently advertised iced drinks. They said their samples were all watered down but I could try it if I wanted. The thought of making new samples seemed to be too much trouble. read more

If slowest service ever was to be voted on, this particular establishment might just take the cake. That is of course, because everyone seems to know everyone. Packed with locals and regulars from open to close, this tiny bucks is never without customer. The crew behind the bar recognizes you as you enter and calls you by name; while if you are dull and order the same thing daily will have your beverage waiting for you by the time you pony up to the counter. Plush seating is available in a small corner allowing semi-private conversations while the window side seating is tight and uncomfortable as there are often the backsides of coffee-drinkers in your nearest vicinity as they wait in line. Plenty of seating is available outside to enjoy the foothills air and the almost fluorescent sunlight. The pricing is fair and comparable to most others in SoCal so you won't be sticker shocked if heading up to the mountains for the day. read more

Only one register open, long-@ss line and all I wanted was a decaf (which apparently required a pour-over method since none was brewed). I am not a huge Starbucks fan, but since this one was built in Alpine it has been my regular coffee shop. The staff is always friendly. The coffee and foo-foo drinks are always good. The only downfall to this Starbucks is the location. Starbucks is right smack-dab in the middle of all the construction on Alpine Blvd. Depending on the day, it can take you 20 minutes to get there from a mile and a half down the road. The employees are cool people. I never had a problem and the they are very curious. The only complaint is the corporation. My coffee cost $1.85 a cup. They changed their reward system so you get a star for every dollar you spend. So instead of getting a free drink for every 12 cups of coffee I now have to drink 114 cups to get a free drink. Since part of my payment is supporting their rewards program I am going to go to a coffee kiosk down the street. read more
