Bread is definitely my weakness and I refuse to give it up entirely. When you step into the shop you immediately know you've reached the right place because it smells like home should smell. Fresh baked Senoritas...little fluffy rolls of delight dipped in the most pure honey. It's a must to get them when they are right out the oven... Spent $23 for 20 pieces and 3 mochi donuts. It's $11 for 3 mochi donuts. The mochi donuts aren't fresh, they have a good flavor but you can tell they sat for awhile. The starbread was undercooked. The location is horrendous. I have to watch my back everytime I come into here. read more

It's best to come here when the bread is made fresh and warm! I love getting senorita bread at Starbread Bakeries. I've also been to the one in Pittsburg, Union City, and Concord. But I'm not sure why the Vallejo location always hits the spot! The bread when fresh - is so warm, gooey, and sweet! I usually like getting a box of 15 and I save the rest for the next day. A quick, cheap, no-frills bakery that is part of a chain within California. This is the first Starbread location my husband and I have been to in some years (basically since the pandemic started). We were returning to SF after being out-of-town for a couple of days and we were excited to see this one located on the way, a short detour from the highway and with plenty of parking in the plaza. Their most popular (and delicious!) offering is the Señorita bread, bread rolls about the length of your hand with melted butter, sugar, and breadcrumbs, similar to many filipino baking recipes; although they do have other baked and wrapped goods as well. Such a staple in Vallejo! Everyone loves Starbread. I will typically pick up a box early in the morning to bring out to the office. It can get surprisingly busy even as early as 730, but they're always quick with their service and get all the customers their order in a timely manner. I've had señorita bread before but I've never had fresh warm señorita bread and wow!!! It's even more delicious. This was my first time inside their bakery and I was so surprised to see they had other bakery options. But I should have known they would when it's in their name (duh!). They had brownies, macaroons, red velvet loafs, and even donuts. Everything looked delicious. I had to practice my self control; if my bf wasn't with me I probably would have left with one of everything haha! We came in to get two orders of their 15 piece señorita bread. Their pricing is very reasonable. They told us it would be about 5 mins and I wasn't too sure why but when we got our boxes it all made sense. Senorita bread is what makes this place so popular! I remember when I was super young and they used to sell senorita bread at the banana q downtown then they finally opened up their store (I think it was a part of starbread) but anyways they have so many locations all around the Bay Area and greater Bay Area. This location is off of Sonoma Blvd on a not as safe area but it is pretty busy, a lot of homeless tend to hang out around there. They're open bright and early and their Senorita bread is the perfect potluck and morning office treat for people, especially when fresh. They're like little sweet pieces of rolls with a nice sweet and buttery filling and the bottoms are so buttery, so easy to eat and they're pretty cheap. It was $24 for a box of 60, there's always a long line on the weekends but you don't have to worry about any pre orders. They make them fresh in the morning and throughout the day. They also have so much more bakery items then before, from special donuts, Filipino treats, filled donuts, cake pops, bread and what not. They accept Apple Pay and if I remember correctly there's a card minimum. Someone tell me if I'm wrong! This review is solely on customer service. Not the product. Today I put my order in for 50 Señorita breads. The 1st customer behind me orders 20 and the 2nd order behind me orders two boxes of 15. Doing the simple math that's 50, right? Those customers behind me got their orders before me and I had to wait 2 extra minutes. The little old lady looks and she says 2 more minutes after those guy their boxes I says ok must be hot n fresh I'm ok with that. 2 minutes later it's get my box and I says wonderful. Soon as I grab my box she made a " Meep Meep" sound which is the road runner!!!!!! I look over my shoulder and she left. I thought that was rude. Don't know if it was directed towards me as I was being kind and patient. Maybe she was in a hurry for nothing because no customers were left. I dunno but I hope she wasn't being a smart ass is the feeling I got!!!! She does that to the wrong person and it won't be good. A month prior we were reading all these great reviews while in the hospital and now we could eat pastries we beelined for Starbread and purchased a selection. Well maybe because it was later in the day but we can't recommend a single item we purchased. It all just tasted like the same dough in different shapes. The fillings all seemed cheap and canned. I mean, I'm no aficionado and I love pretty much all pastries but these were honestly inedible. We took a bite or two of each and threw the rest out. Service was adequate but not friendly.
