I go there for a pedicure and they've been very very accommodating and I'm very satisfied with their work.

I actually had an appointment with modern nail but my appointment reminder was texted at the ame time of my appointment so obviously I was going to be a little late. I called that they to ld me I could not come late for the appointment. So I walked into Star Nail....so happy I did. I was treated like princess from the moment I walked in. My nail tech took the time to understand what I wanted and talked me through the process of the entire appointment. She was so incredibly and understand exactly what I wanted. Went here as a new client due to my nail salon being closed, AND because of the great reviews. Not good on cleanliness. I saw the price for services online for pedi and shellac mani for $50. I pointed this out and they brushed it off and said "NO . It's $57!" I stated website says different. They didn't honor the price which should have been done seeing as in a new client. Got rushed through pedicure, manicure was rushed and lady said I was done and never in my life have not gotten Lotion put on my hand or offered any and left cuticles all over sticking out. (I go to salon because of my bad cuticles and frankly rough feet) so I can keep a boyfriend ‍ all in all, I won't be going back. Nails are not top notch for price. read more

The work tends to be sloppy and you don't get exactly what you ask for. The service is somewhat descent. The owner is a guy who does a pretty good job on nails but the rest of the nail techs are noooo good. I went in for a regular mani and regular pedi and the work was really sloppy. After a month I went back and asked for a gel manicure. The shape of my nails was so bad I asked for a simple square nail and it was all uneven.. and the nails chipped after 3 days. I have a bad one to report. Firstly, they are not sanitary! The polishes are old. They rush and refuse to let your feet soak. I caught the pedicure tech attempt to use used Emery board!!! When I asked her to use a new one she acted surprised. Which tells me this is ordinary conduct. She started speaking in another language and seemed stressed when she was questioned. I then asked about the utensils that they use a hand cheese grater. They use these on your heels and calluses? She then became super unprofessional. Refusing me service, which I didn't want after what I had observed. She went as far as had the nerve to scream out the door at me. I was blown away. I responded by saying that is why your place is empty and you have no business Avoid this place!!! read more

It hurts me to leave a review like this because the people there are actually very nice. But I went in to get a pedicure and a full set of nails. As soon as I was sit down in the chair and I had somebody working on my feet another lady jumped on my nails right away. I wanted to relax when I got my pedicure and spent the money on the more expensive one I really didn't even get a chance to enjoy it because I had another lady pulling my hands and trying to get my nails on right away.It wasn't even busy in the place. But they were in a big rush to get me in and get me out. And somebody pays for a pedicure you should leave them alone until they're done and then you work on their nails not trying to do both at the same time it takes away from the experience and then it becomes just a waste of money read more

We were in the area and I really wanted a pedicure and I noticed a lot of people going in to this place. I was a walk in but they seated me promptly. It was a small wait for my pedicure. There are 10 nail stations set up side by side so people are really packed in. There were about 5-6 pedicure stations with tubs. I had one of the best pedicures I have ever had! Anthony was very nice. I don't really like pedicures because I am very ticklish but is was bearable. It was $25 including a nice foot and leg scrub. I would stop by again if in the area. read more

After being turned away from Nature Nail Salon because I asked to have the door opened a crack for much needed ventilation...I found STAR salon and was so pleased to find such a qualified and gracious owner that did a great job and was kind and respectful. Absolutely worth the 45 minute drive from my hometown. I got the ultimate pedicure with a manicure. The woman who did my nails paid great attention to detail and got the polish perfect without me having to say anything (I'm very picky). The ultimate pedicure had a lavender leg scrub, a mud mask for your legs and a hot towel massage. It was very relaxing. The massage chairs were nice too! I think I will have to make the drive here more often. read more

Decided to go for manicures with a friend. I called the day before and made an appointment for 3pm. We arrived at 240pm, but they started working on us right away. They do accept walk-ins, but I would recommend an appointment. While we were there, three other people showed up within minutes of each other. It got busy very quickly. The place is clean. As a woman was finishing her pedicure, I watched them thoroughly clean out the foot bath with chemicals and a scrubber. Halfway through my manicure, I decided on a pedicure. The manicure was nice and relaxing. My polish still looks good today. Normally, I have it chipped by now. The pedicure (my first) was complete heaven. I sat in a massaging chair and put my feet into a nice bath. The foot and calf massage was wonderful. He put a new blade on the skin shaving tool before removing the dead skin on my feet. He massaged and scrubbed my feet until they were looking beautiful. The cost for pedicure and manicure - $37. What a steal for the awesome pampering they offer. My friend and I were looking for a new place to get our nails done. We were driving down 27th street when we saw Star Nails and noticed it wasn't busy so we thought we would try it out. It must not have been busy for a reason. I had received the WORST service. All I asked for was fake nails and colored tips. I was told they cannot do that. I tried talking to them and explaining what I wanted for almost 20 minutes, when another lady got up to pay and I noticed she had exactly what I wanted to get done. But they still insisted they cannot do that..? I was far from impressed and I will make sure to tell everyone not to go there, they were extremely rude. read more

One of the best places to get a Manicure and pedicure for a man or woman of course and feel comfortable.

The person I got filed my nail so hard that she ripped my skin open. After I washed my hand and cleaned up the blood, she without warning applied some type of blue liquid that stung. During polish clean up, the remover dropped into the open skin and dealt a second round of careless stinging. I was given no discount and I tipped for my pedicure only. I'm looking forward to a week of painful activities using the dexterity of my little finger that has been ripped open. Never again. read more

I used to come here w/ my mother when I was younger and we loved it. I haven't been here in years and since I moved back to the area, I thought I'd give it a shot again. I walked in and first annoyance was it had to be at least 90 degrees inside. I was instantly sweating. No ventilation, no a/c - nothing. I was getting a mani and pedi. My tub water was hot as can be. The lady next to me complained as well and it took over 5 mins for someone to help her and even then they acted as if she was an inconvenience; eye rolling and such. My pedicure was extremely rushed and the lady was rude. Pulling or pushing my legs in or out of the water - instead of speaking to me. My manicure was one of the worst experiences ever. My hands looked worse leaving then how I came in. During the process of removing the dead cuticles she was pulling and tugging so hard at my skin, creating new tore skin and leaving it. My skin and nails did not look nice at all. The polish was on my cuticles, on my skin on the side of the nail. Just bad. I've done better myself, with my left hand. I just wanted to get out. Over all I would never go back. Even for free. Wasted my money and wasted my time. read more

This business has been around for over 10 years. In the past 5 years they have moved a few spots down on in the strip mall. This time their place is smaller. Its almost a downgrade. Who knows if there was financial issues that made this happen. Nonetheless, it is so crowded. I called for a 12 appointment knowing very will that it was Friday and it may be busy. I got there 5 minutes early and there was only one chair left to grab. I picked out my color and waited about ten minutes... so much for my appointment. The manicurist told me he was going to seat me in the last chair. I forgot his name but he has been there forever and very fun, talkative and talented. The lady that ended up taking care of me is a disappointment. I felt like she may have still been an apprentice. 1. My nails were almond shape... I asked her to cut them down and I left with oval. 2. As she was filing my nails with the dremmel tool she had it so fast it burned me. 3. She burned me more. 4. She was very detailed to get all corners of my nail bed... especially my cuticle. She filed my cuticle off. Advice.. don't do that. 5. She cut my pinkie skin and didn't stop until I yanked my hand from her. 6. She messed up the polish job. There are bubbles in them. 7. Never again... never again. I will not be going back. Even when asked if everything was ok. I said no, explained the issues and I got a business card with 5.00 off the next time. This was the most disappointing and perfunctory pedicure I've ever had. Not only were my cuticles neglected (she put softener on the cuticles but never actually pushed them back), only my shins were exfoliated and massaged. Did she not see I also have calves???? Each of my big toes was cut unevenly. If I had not stopped her, she would have used a blade to remove calluses. That's not even legal in Wisconsin, is it? Lastly, I sat for a while to dry the polish, which was applied nicely. While waiting, I observed the clean up -- believe me, I'm a little concerned about germs and infections. The implements used were hand washed, the scrubber used to exfoliate calluses was rinsed in the water in which my feet still resided. Yuck! Even at $25, it wasn't worth it. read more
