Very friendly, except for the person who helped me. My nails are way too short, super uneven, and one of the workers daughters messed up my nails when I was drying them. To top it all off the man who did my nails took approximately 2 minutes to put 2 coats and a top coat on my nails, I felt like he was rushing. I only went to there because I was in the area. She put the polish on my nails so thick they were ruined before I left. The water for my pedi was cold and she scrubbed my feet raw. So I made an appointment today around 5:45 today and for some reason in my mind I thought 6:45. So I get there around 6:45 and she corrects me saying it was an hour ago and they close at 7:00. I am so glad I found Kathy here at Star nails. I've been to so many places in the high desert that are either very questionable on cleanliness or are very inconsistent. Kathy gives the most amazing foot massage and is super funny. I've sent many clients to her and my mom now see's her as well. Love this place and I know I won't get some nasty foot fungus. I've been faithfully going to Star Nails for a few years now and have always received top notch service. I've been to quite a few salons trying to find someone who is consistent and who does a good job (where my nails are the same length!) and I finally found it in Star Nails. The receptionist is always nice and they offer you water and a snack when you arrive. Each customer has their own box of nail files, etc. in the back room. I went here Christmas Eve looking to try something new. When I first arrived the receptionist offered me snacks and water and explained to me that each individual customer get their own box of supplies, you take it home and bring it to each visit. Got my nails done a couple of weeks ago and came back for a pedi. Nice and clean, no odors of food cooking in the backroom like some places. Staff is friendly and efficient. I like that they use liners in their pedi sinks so your feet are never in contact with anybody else's water. read more

I guess as with any nail salon, it comes down to the technician you get. I made a last minute appointment an hour before closing. The lady who did my pedicure was mediocre at best--had to keep pulling my foot to avoid having my actual skin cut rather than the cuticle. In fairness, other pedicures I've gotten here have been great. Overall, the shop is clean, and the sign-in/check-out process is always pleasant. I came to star nails because I was told by the front desk that "rosie" could do a lady and the tramp design for sure so I went. Well she tried and the picture was horrible. It looked nothing like the dogs so I asked her to remove it and put one of the other designs which she didn't do what I asked instead she put her own designs in it after I just told her what I wanted. Then I expressed how upset I was and they still made me pay the full amount even tho the design was nothing like the picture or what I wanted. Normally on a regular day I'd give this place five plus stars because when I normally make appointments I make them with Linh and I am NEVER disappointed. Today I had Tommy. He left my nails uneven and patchy and before I knew it he was done. He didn't talk to me or ask what kind of pedicure I wanted. I have lived in the high desert many years and tried many nail salons. Star nails is by far the best . They are very sanitary. The pedicure bath has a throw away plastic insert they use for each client. Their tools are in sterilized bags they open for each new customer and you have your own box with a nail file and buffer that you bring with you at each visit. Their prices can not be beat for the service you get. I would recommend them to anyone. The outside is misleading, but once inside it is very nice. read more
