My wife and kids favorite nail spot. They are treated very well and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. My wife has looked for a nail salon that will does great work at a fair price and she has tried a few in the area. They have a nice seating area with TV's on the wall (HGTV) and they always offer a drink. They super kind to my kids and actually greet them by there names, which make them feel special. My wife enjoys there flexibility with requests and have on multiple times put designs from pictures on her phone on her nails. Great place. read more

I came to town for a couple weeks on business and went in on a Saturday at 10:30am with my Mom for a set of nails and a pedi for my self and a pedi for my Mom. We didn't leave the salon until 12:45 and that was without a set of nails, only our pedicures. Worst service I have experienced in quite a while! I thought I did my homework and looked at the reviews for this place before going but I must say I'm very disappointed! It took 2 and a half hours to do our pedicure and they didn't mention the extra $15 for shellac, after choosing our pedicure package, I came out paying $60 for a mediocre experience!! Don't do it. Hit or miss with the nail techs. Tore up my cuticles and had no idea what coffin shape meant. She also attempted to trim my cuticles with a tool she pulled from the drawer. Not in sanitizer, not in a packet which just came from a sanitizer but her literal drawer. This was after she made my cuticles bleed on several fingers with the drill tool. Super friendly and kind. I will NEVER go back!!! I also had a Livingsocial voucher. I did call twice on a Saturday to try to make an appointment, but no one answered. I decided to go as a walk-in with my cousin and daughter. We were all going to get pedicures and manicures. I spoke to the man at the front and informed him I had a voucher. He then told me I needed to make an appointment. I told him if he would have answered the phone I would have. He told me I could come back later with an appointment because the voucher was worth $60 and I got it for $25. He wanted me to pay full price and come back again to use the voucher. I told him why would I paying full price when I have a coupon. He still wanted my cousin and daughter's business but since he was so rude we left. Also mother-in-law had the same problem with the voucher. She managed to get an appointment in the afternoon on a week day. She went in showed the voucher again to the man at the front. He started the water for her pedicure and left her there soaking for 45 minutes. People were coming in after her and he would help them. She never got any service and no one checked on her. She ended up walking out. And the man had the nerve to say we can make you another appointment. No thank you. They have lost our business and I am warning everyone do not go there! This is a no frills environment with top service. My daughter and I have been going to Star Nails for four years and they take very good care of us. They specialize in solar nails and spa pedicures. They also do waxing. I get compliments on my nails all the time and carry a stack of Star Nails business cards with me to hand out to friends and strangers. I would prefer to give this place ZERO stars! I tried multiple times to schedule a mani/pedi/brow wax using a voucher I bought on Living Social. One time when I went in to schedule I was COMPLETELY ignored. Another time I called on the phone & was told that they had appts that day, until they found out I had a voucher & then mysteriously they had no time for me that day or the next. I contacted Living Social to get a refund & explained the situation to them. They were very apologetic, but I hope they never allow this place to advertise deals on their site anymore. Just went here the other day to get my acrylics off and decided to get a regular manicure. Nothing too fancy. The guy who did my nails was very nice and took his time. A lot of the salons I've been to take acrylics off the wrong way by ripping the acrylic off your actual nail and they didn't do that here. It's very clean in here and they had cute christmas decorations up which im a sucker for. As for pricing, to get the acrylics off and my manicure it only cost me $22. Went here a week ago to get a gel mani before going out of town for the weekend. First of all I think they need to work on their cleanliness. One of their towels left something all over my skirt. Second the price difference between a regular mani and gel mani is $17 which is absurd and to add insult to injury after less than a week my gel manicure started chipping. Not to mention the polish on my cuticles. It was very sloppy. They were nice but I feel like for the price I paid I couldnt gone to a better place and got better quality work. Oh, how I hate to leave a bad review! My biggest concern when visiting a salon is the cleanliness. While working on my feet, the pulled out the sterile packing and used sterile tools on me. However, a lady came and set next to me, and to my horror, they used the tools on her that they had just used on me. I had a little bit of an ingrown nail that slightly bled! I have tried 3 times to schedule an appointment for a Living Social coupon I purchased for $30, for a manicure/pedicure/massage/eyebrow wax at Star Nails & Spa. Every single time I was told they had no openings. I called again this week to try and schedule an appointment for today (Saturday) and was told the same thing. So this afternoon, (Saturday) I decided to try a walk-in and see if they had an opening. I was told they could not do it today and that I would have to come back on Monday. I explained I can't do weekday/night appointments because of work. I looked down at the appointment book on the desk and there was ONE appointment scheduled for the whole day! At the time I was there, 3 people were getting their nails done and 2 nail technicians were available. I asked about the available tech's and was told they were for walk-ins! I explained I was a walk-in. He just said come back on Monday...again! I said what if I skip the rest of the services and just get the pedicure! He YELLED at me and told me I had to leave and to come back on Monday...and yes, he actually did yell at me! I will be reporting them to Living Social and hopefully getting a refund. I would not recommend purchasing Living Social or Groupons with them. It seems if they have your money, they will make it almost impossible to redeem your purchase :( read more

I just moved to the area and I needed to find a new salon close to my house so I decided to try this one out. They open relatively early and they were able to take walk-ins as well. I just needed an eyebrow wax but they were quick and efficient. I was very pleased. I'll definitely be going back to try some of their other services. read more

Average price and average service. This place has recently gone under new management and in my opinion gone down hill. Its not very clean and the decor looks as if you were stuck in the 80's. The new staff does not talk to the customers very much, but have to problem speaking in their language to one another. Your better off going someone else. I bought a LivingSocial deal for a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax in May of 2011. Part of the deal was that an appointment was required to redeem the voucher, you cannot just walk in to the nail salon and use your voucher. Also, when making your appointment you have to stipulate that you are wanting to use your LivingSocial voucher. So, every time that I have tried to make an appointment, I was told they were booked on every day I asked about. I told them I wanted a Saturday appointment, and was told they are booked every Saturday through the end of 2011. He said they had an openkng two weeks from now, on a Tuesday. I told him no, that i wanted a Saturday appointment. The man on the phone berated me for waiting until now to try and use my voucher, that they had sold 800 of them in May. I told him the certificate had an expiration date of November, 2011 and that I didn't have to give him an explanation, that it was none of his business. I asked to speak to the owner, he said she wasn't in. I asked for the owner's name and he said he didn't know it. He asked if I wanted an appointment and I said that was why I had called but he seemed to be making that difficult for me, like he didn't want my business. I said if that is the case, he could refund my money. He replied that I should take it up with LivingSocial. I contacted LivingSocial and relayed my experience and was quickly refunded my money. I also googled the nail salon and read about a similar experience regarding Star Nails and Spa and a customer with a LivingSocial voucher. I believe they sold a lot of these deals, expecting return business and have not gained the extra business, probably because of their shoddy customer service, and are trying to let their offer expire without honoring all the vouchers they sold. I have never been spoken to the way this "company representative" did to me, when trying to give my business. They are rude and unprofessional, and don't belong in business. read more

Service is VERY slow and owner rude.. the woman in front of me waited 3 hours for a manicure and pedicure. When I found that it was going to be a long wait, I signed in and left to run other errands. When I returned, she had just gotten seated. The owner then put three people in front of me who had come in after me saying that "You left. You should have stayed." I signed in at 2:25 p.m., returned at 4:00, and got seated at about 6:00 p.m. and left at 7:00 p.m....totally unreal. Living Social overloaded their staff of 3. Actual nail work is average. I went there to get my toes painted and a fill for my solar nails. They put me in a chair that didn't work and the woman painting my nails was rude and jerked my feet around. I always get designs on my toes...she took the paint off that had a design painted, but never asked me if I wanted a design put back on. She painted my toes as quickly as possible (no filing, nothing) and sent me on my way. I was the only person there so the only reason I could figure for the rush was because I wasn't getting an expensive pedicure. The other four workers didn't have anything to do so they kicked their shoes off, sat in the chairs that DID work, and chatted. When it came to my fill, I said thanks but no thanks. I'll go where they want my business...and are professional. Sure enough, my toes were chipped within a few hours!!! And they were no cheaper than the much nicer place I go to across town!!! WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. STAR NAILS & SPA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I purchased two voucher from Living Social for my daughter and I. After three attempts to make an appointment with a very rude man, I was finally able to get my daughter and I appointments. We arriived a few minutes before our appointment time. A lady and young girl walked in right before us. They did not have an appointment, but were taken back and started. I checked in and told them we were here for 2:30 appointments and they motioned for us to be seated. Not a word for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes I walked to the counter and waited another 5 minutes for the same man to tell me it would be at least another 20 minnutes. I explained that we had an appointment and had another engagement shortly. He explained that they had several walk ins prior to our arrival and had to take them, so they were running late. He told me that if I didn't want to wait I could just "get a refund". UNLESS YOU HAVE AN HOUR TO KILL, DON'T GO HERE! read more
