The pedicures are incredible with hot stones and lots of massage. They are reasonable too for the amount of massage, and attention you get. The day of my wedding they opened two hours early to do mine and my bridesmaids nails! The staff are willing to please you and they have several colors available. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I only go here when I'm desperate. They do okay job with the mani-pedi, but the whole experience is pretty unpleasant. One time I asked them how long it would take because I was in a rush. They told me they could take me right away. They did. They put me in a pedi chair to soak...and soak...and soak....and literally a half an hour went by and still no one had started on my pedicure. I had to get up and leave because if they were starting that late I would miss my appointment. They know nothing about the customer experience or customer service. Kids TV is usually blaring in the background, sometimes in Chinese. The leg and hand massages are done by technicians who seem angry and like they don't like to touch people. Oh how I wish there was a good nail salon that had these prices and actually made it enjoyable. This is definitely not that. I usually choose Ten Perfect Nails over these guys. I've been going to star nails for over five years now to get a pedicure. They use hot stones, warm towels, and have just recently redone the interior of the place to include gorgeous chairs. I used to get turned off by the cheap and dirty look of the inside, but I kept coming back because I never could get a better pedicure no matter how many places I tried. I have been here twice due to the convenience of location from my home, but the services don't truly match up with price. The pedicure they do take their time with and that was nice, but the overall paint jobs are very sloppy and both times my shellac has started to chip and catch on things by the next day! The pedicure included a sugar scrub massage, hot towels, and hot stone massage for $35. I felt so relaxed and my feet have never been so smooth! The staff was very friendly. Don't go!!!! My mom and I went and both had the worst experience ever. Between the two of us, we walked out with 5 bloody fingers. The man I had cut 4 of my fingers. They even have this gel that they keep next to them to put on it when it bleeds. However, he only noticed two of my fingers that he cut. He also painted on my skin multiple times and never took it off. They charged me extra for my pedicure because of sea salt which I wasn't asked about. He also had a cold and was coughing on my feet the whole time! And of course, we waited very long and my mom was done before they started on me. Absolutely one star or less. I love the sign for $25 for a mani/pedi, then they give you warming unit to balance on your knees so you can dry your nails, not relaxing at all. No one speaks English at the end the cost is $70, surprise. The $25 is just to get you in the door. I will never step my foot in that place again. I have been there several times - and the service has always been amazing. I normally try to go first thing in the morning. Sometimes yes it gets busy but if you get the mani-pedi the workflow naturally occurs and they have always done a great job. I've tried both the gels and powder nails and the girls are very thorough. Went there on Sunday because my regular place was closed. What a nightmare. First of all, the place just appears DIRTY from the moment you walk in. There were at least 5 small children (of the employees) running around, loudly playing games. I asked about wifi, as two kids had iPads and the owner was on a laptop. I was told by a 5 yr old there was no wifi! I was hoping to have a nice relaxing pedicure,not the case. The tech spent more time massaging my legs than the actual pedicure. When I left my heels looked the same as when I started. None of the tools were sterilized, they were in a dirty bucket she took from another station. Had to ask her for clean tools. Worst experience. Took my niece for her first manicure - while my sister booked a gel and I booked a pedicure. My niece was started and done before the finished taking off my toenail polish! What a rushed horrible experience for her - no cuticle trimming or hand massage. I complained to the tech who shrugged her shoulders and said that is a regular manicure!!! The guy who did my pedicure clipped the corners of my nails and cut into my big toe - ouch!!! he has an open jar of sea salt and asks if I want it but doesn't tell me it costs extra. i used to go to this place because it was pretty much the only show in town but today was the last day i will ever go back there. they are very rude and short with their customers. the lady burnt my cuticles with that sanding machine and then jerked my hands back and snapped at me for moving! i had to ask 3 times if i could get a pedicure, and the guy who did it was nicer but he exfoliated my legs to the point where it hurt and felt like he was taking my skin off! the water was too cold, yet they burnt the girl next to me with water too hot. they messed up my nails twice and i had to get them fixed. they speak close to no english, and if you want anything special done with your nails you better bring a picture or a translator. bad sanitation practices with the pedicure tubs. but its really the rudeness, shortness, and uncaring attitude they have for their customers that turns me off. they all sit around watching their vietnamese soap operas and act like you ruined their day by coming in. torturing the round eyes seem to be their main objective lol. far from a relaxing experience! read more

I've been going here intermittently since they opened, and have seen a real decline in service. I'm used to getting the spa manicure with extra services. Some of the ladies who have worked here many years still give a good relaxing pedicure. But the past two times I've been here I've had new girls as techs who rush through, this time not even getting rid of any callus (and my feet are well cared for....not like it's gross or thick). Today she spent 10 seconds on each heel, and paying for extra spa pedi massage is supposed to be much longer than 2 minutes massage. She was a very nice person but not as skilled as I'm used to. I had to ask to have lotion put on my legs at the end...something that's usually done normally. I was in and out of my chair before other clients seated before me getting pedicures were at the polish stage. As I sat at the drying bar 3 min and before I had a chance to finish reading a magazine article she rushed me out as "you're all done." I doubt I will come here anymore and that's a shame because I like to support local businesses. read more

I am new to the area and overheard a couple of girls talking about getting their nails done so I figured I would ask where. They suggested this awful place. The space was small and crowded but at first glance I didn't notice anything too terrible. The woman who first addressed me when I walked in had a mask on and didn't even look up at me so I initially couldn't figure out who had spoken. I came in for a manicure so she asked me to pick a color and it would probably be 15 mins. OK, not too bad. So after more than thirty minutes of waiting and staring, I can tell you the space is grubby, dirty, and unpleasant. All of the furniture is torn and gross. Then they brought me to a chair and the, I'm assuming, manager, while standing, filed my previous nail polish and started to put the acetone/ tin foil on my nails super rushed. Mind you, I told him several times that my previous nail polish was the dip and he informed me that it would probably soak longer. So almost thirty minutes later a guy who looked over worked and a bit frantic came over and tried to get the polish off and could not. I could tell that he was pissed because he was struggling and was speaking to the first guy in what appeared to be an angry tone and shaking his head. I think the proper way to take the powder off is to grind it down and THEN soak it, which the manager-guy didn't do. So I soak for like 15-20 more minutes while my tech (if you can call him that) went back to the pedicure he was working on. Side note, the acetone at this point is reanimating my previous manicure and its dripping down my fingers and drying. So some chick walks over, and she starts scrubbing at my nails with even more acetone and uses the drill to get the nail polish off. She was so rushed that at one point, the acetone soaked cotton got stuck to the drill and was splattering acetone everywhere. Awesome. So she wraps what used to be my fingers in more acetone and then asks me to move to another table. I was tempted to ask her to take the polish off and leave me alone but being that I had invested almost two hours at this point, I was all or nothing. The manicure itself was just a manicure. She barely made eye contact with me and was rushed the whole time. I have a small part of my cuticle where she drew blood and I'm thankful I've had a tetanus shot, as I've read some reviews that they don't appropriately clean their tools. Again, awesome. The massage was super sub par and I had big gobs of lotion all over my hands and arms when she was done. She then had to use more acetone to scrub the crusty nail polish that had dripped down my hands off. If it weren't for the fact that she cashed me out (I had to wait for that too, HA!) I would have not given her a tip. I tried to convince myself that its not her fault that she works for a shitty establishment. I gave like $3 and really, that was generous. I don't think I would have been so pissed if it weren't for the fact that they kept taking customers and telling these poor sods that it would be 15 minutes. I know that I probably should have made an appointment but I have been getting my nails done for years and have never been in a situation where I'm waiting, soaking my flesh off with acetone, and then waiting more for the whole mistake to play out. There are cheaper options with less frustrating results. I will never go there again. Only time will tell if I end up with some sort of infection. read more

There is something wrong here...they re-use clippers, don't clean the surfaces and are not attentive at all. I know some people say its a "typical nail salon" but why pay $30 for nail fungus or something worse?? There are some great nail techs here but there are some horrible ones too. They should have put their money into sanitary training and customer service training instead of new flooring and nail tables. I've been going here for years and it keeps declining. The last time I was at this place (which is awhile back) it was a negative experience. Don't bother making an appointment because a walk in will get your chair if they come in a minute before you do. This was the second time that I had to wait 20-30 minutes to get a chair with an appointment. If that was not bad enough, I was put in a chair in the back of the building right next to the worker's small children's play area and TV when one of these kids decided her life was bad enough that she had to scream cry for a good 15 minutes. I went here for a pedicure today on the recommendation from a friend and it was a very good experience. It wasn't like the nail factories I've been in in NYC, the manicurist (pedicurist?) took her time, and I got a great massage, sea salt scrub and hot stones as well, all for a very reasonable price. The lady in the chair next to me said she has tried all the nail places in the area including some of the more expensive spas, and she insisted that Star Nails was her favorite. Ok so i needed a place to get my nails done because my salon I regularly go to was closed on sundays. I got a fill for my acrylics and the service was great til i wanted a design on my ring fingers. I wanted a cheetah print pattern and when she did it it looked horrible like blobs of pink with black outlines. I told her i didn't like it and could we just do a solid color. So she wanted to redo the design and did the same exact thing again it was horrible then she was trying to tell me my nails were too short for her to do the design. So i said do the solid color she wasnt listening and tried doing the design i told her can you please do the solid color. I work in the beauty industry and what the client asks for is what they want dont ignore and do what you want. It always makes matters worse. So they said they would give me my money back. I was the last client before closing. When she finally did the solid color she said i could stay and dry my nails 5 seconds later she said i need to leave because theyre closing. So i got up already frustrated. I got to walmart with my friend and decided to get a new outfit because my birthday is the next day and i have a big hair show at my cosmetology school. I get to the register at walmart and come to find out that the people at this nail salon gave me only 5 dollars back and not the full 25 dollars. It was such a terrible experience that they should really try to improve on listening to what the guest wants and maybe improving on how to do designs and if you dont know how to do a design dont try to make excuses or become argumentative about it just tell the guest they will most likely understand and do something different. read more

I went to this salon because it is in a great location and looked like a decent place. I couldn't have been more wrong! The man who gave me my manicure was extremely rude and horrible at manicures. My nails were cut way too short and were not even at all. After nearly pulling me out of my chair while "massaging" lotion on my hands, he sloppily put 1 coat of polish on my nails and said "one coat ok?". I replied that I would like two, to which he responded "what's the difference?" I was told to stay in my seat in front of a fan for approx 2 minutes to allow my poorly applied polish to dry and then was told I could leave. Having been shocked by the way I was treated I got up and left and kept the $5 tip (for a $12 manicure) for myself. I have never experienced such rude treatment in my life. I don't care how much I need a manicure again, I will NEVER return to this horrible place. I recommend others avoid this salon as well! Maybe if they lose business they will reevaluate the way in which they treat some of their customers! read more
