I have been coming here for years and they NEVER honor appointment times. They NEVER have the color I pick out from their samples. They NEVER file my nails the correct way, I file them before I get there. They have cut my cuticles numerous times and then the women who sits in the first chair on the right was arguing with me about her bad services. I am very particular about the shape and color of my nails and I pay a lot of money for this service so I expect them to listen to me as a repeat customer. They are constantly on the phone speaking a different language while doing the nails. SO RUDE. I left yesterday and Will NEVER go back!!! She was actually talking about me to another customer. There is always something sneaky going on over there as well, like in the back area. These people are not to be trusted !!! read more

I have been going to this salon for many years! clean and very professional! I love the way they do my dip nails! I always get complimented! When my nail tech stopped working Tina stepped up and was able to do exactly what Lyn always did. Thank you to all the staff read more

Horrible experience - made the mistake of making an appointment, arrived on time to find a chaotic factory like atmosphere. People everywhere, nail techs jumping from station to station etc etc etc. Not a relaxing place at all with a really strong perfumey fragrance. I should have turned around and walked out as soon as I walked in, but I waited, and waited and waited some more. I finally was brought to a pedi chair and then waited some more. I finally just got up and left 35 minutes later. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Vicky's - much nicer and more relaxing salon. read more

Fairly new to the area, and I haven't had my nails done in at least 20 years. I asked for recommendations, and I ended up at Vicki's nails. I went twice, and I wasn't thrilled with the product, price gouging, outcome or the attitude. So I booked an appointment at another place downtown and when I went to go to that appointment, they were closed! So I ended up calling Star Nails and they said to come on over. Ty was able to fix what Vicki's nails had done, and I was so happy with the outcome!! read more

I was excited to finally do something for myself but I had a 3pm appointment and I wasn't seen until 4:05pm. I was frustrated because I have a wedding and work so no time to pack. It took them almost 3hrs from the time I walked in to do my nails and toes. They proceeded to make my toes bleed twice and hurt me so I jerked my foot. She laughed it off. There was still a little toe nail polish still on from the last time I did my toes and she just painted over it. When it was time for my nails she rushed it and I just asked for no lotion I had to get out of there. I went home and after an hour a half later my nail smudged on my toes. I was so upset I came back the next day for them to fix it because I wasn't going to have someone pay for it to be fixed. I went in on my hour break of my 12 hour shift and I just wanted the one toe fixed because I needed to eat and I told them that 3 times. She insisted to do all of them. I know they wanted to fix the issue but I didn't have time for that. I just wish they wouldn't overbook. They are overall nice people just overbook them they are scrambling. read more

Star Nails - Full Acrylic Nail Tips Set (20) - Nail Salons Near Me - Amesbury, Massachusetts

So tired of paying $30 and getting half painted nails. Techs were working on three different people at the same time... over busy. I would've perfected waiting 15 minutes and getting nice nails than being rushed. They left a ton of cotton on my nails, purple was crooked I saw my right thumb was completely crooked and they fixed it but didn't catch my pointer finger crookedness and black spot till I got in the car. Reviewing in the parking lot because I'm just so annoyed.... PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS. I ignored because it was just such a convenient location but litterally it's a never again for me. read more

I've been here a few times over the years since I don't live in area and I've never been disappointed. Today, Johhny, a younger guy did my pedicure and he was EXCEPTIONAL. So sweet, gentle, thorough, and very loving. I can't believe I'd say "loving" but that's the only way I can describe his treatment of my feet. I love him. read more

Star nails get 5 star review! The pedicures are wonderful! They really massage your legs and feet for a good long time. They use hot stones and hot towels too! Everyone is super kind and friendly. I've told all my friends this by far the best nail salon I've been too! read more

Terrible. There is nothing relaxing about sitting in this salon. Constant TV nonsense shows playing. The techs don't know how to give proper foot massages and rush through everything because they overbook. Is it convenient-yes. Is it reasonably priced-maybe. But there is nothing relaxing about it. Go elsewhere. read more

When you arrive and are told there is a five minute wait. Then wait, only to be brought to a nail station and continue to wait, then get moved to another nail station to wait even longer, this is very frustrating. Then the technician begins your service only to abruptly drop your hand in mid manicure and walk away and go work on another customer; you almost can't believe it - except it's not the first time it's happened! I noticed during many of my visits that the technicians answer phone calls from customers who request appointments. The technician agrees to the appointment time however they never write down the appointment. I can't tell you how many times clients have walked in for their set time appointment only to sit there and wait and wait because the technicians really never schedule times. They promise appointment times just to get customers. Management has recently changed and services are even worse than before. If you are looking for good quality services please go someplace else and do not pay these people for seriously sub-par services. Spend your money at a salon that gives you the services that you deserve. read more

I have been going to Star Nails for many years. I have always been very happy with the resuits. I've gotten the spa pedicure occasionally which is just AMAZING matter who does it. the first time I ever went there, I had a very young girl named Twee who had very little English. She was such a nice girl and I always enjoyed our conversations over my acrylic fill. she introduced me to nail designs and gel polish. I requested her for as long as she had been there. Now I see the owner or his wife who are both very decent and very hardworking people. I will always give a 5 star review of this place. Much respect from me for having to work in a customer facing field where the customers can be overly fussy, hard to please, or temperamental. read more

I have gone to Star Nails through the years since they opened. I stopped going for quality of service. If you have to go there ONLY HAVE KIM do your nails! I asked for Kim today when I called and was told she wasn't in, she walked in 5 minutes after I was in the pedi chair and I mentioned I wanted her to Tram (I think her name was), didn't happen. I am going to post pictures of the WORST pedicure I have had in 40 years of getting pedicures. Jen the manager was useless, I expressed my concerns in a professional manner and she admitted the girl was new. I told her that I should not be charged or at the very least pay half price...THE MANAGER CHARGED ME FULL PRICE FOR THIS!!!!! Requested upgraded pedicure. Not only did she not provide the service requested but she did a basic pedi that i could have done better myself. Barely did my heels , cut the toenails crooked, awful job painting. I don't believe she was even licensed. I spoke to the owner on the phone who said nothing to me & asked me to give the phone to the woman. After having to wait another 5-10 minutes someone came to check me out & offered to do it over. Meanwhile I had been there 1-2 hours because the friend I drove got the service I requested. I was not going to make a full day of it& then make her wait. Never go there again. Oh and they told me it was a miscommunication because she didn't speak English. Well if you're going to be working with the public & can't understand their request have it clarified. That's not the customers job to make sure you understand me. I have never in my many years complained & refused to pay what I was charged.. Then to have all 3 employees stare at me & I know discuss me was insulting. I was not being rude. Another customer came in & said that employee also did hers once & she was not happy .... Beware. read more

We did Mani Pedis for my sister wedding in April. Very clean & nice place. They try very hard to not turn anyone down. That also means they rush a bit to make more money. That also means you might wait longer then they said. My nails & toes came out nice though. I would go back. read more

came with my little sister. we called and told them we were 15 minutes away and they said that was fine. we ended up timing it wrong and got there in five minutes . when we were there we're both waiting for almost a half an hour and there were walks in that got seated before the two of us. they kept telling us five minutes only for it to be five minutes of them wasting my patience. she spent way to long filing down my nails and she MADE OUR CUTICLES BLEED, from the drill and they did not say sorry. on the tv, there was inappropriate stuff that children should not be watching. and it is just not relaxing for a salon. when i left her three dollars for a tip she rolled her eyes and slammed the cash register door, made me feel uncomfortable. they need to learn to not be so aggressive because now my sister has cuts on her nails. will never ever be coming back they did not deserve a tip read more

Although the massage part of the pedicure was great and I felt relaxed. My feet weren't smooth after. Not the worst pedicure- I'd give it a C The manicure however was horrible. Not only was the woman rude- but pushy. She wanted me to get the shellac. Which I didn't want. She was mad that I didn't want it and rushed through the manicure. No massage, horrible filing. My nails were sharp- not pointy- sharp and dipped down in the middle. The manicure from start to finish was 12 minutes at most. Never again. read more

my nails turned out okay, and the guy who i think was running the place was very nice. however, the experience of getting my acrylics filled was really painful because they really don't pay attention to whether or not they are hurting you. my cuticles are all torn up and a few of them were bleeding, and even two days later they are still kind of hurting. my friend's simple design looked like a blob and her nails turned out really thick. they also didn't believe that my 10 year old sister was under 12, and only ended up giving us a partial discount. she does look a lot older than she is tho so that is kind of understandable haha. i'm giving this place two stars instead of one tho because i do really like the look of my nail design, although it's kind of messed up because of how jagged my cuticles look. read more

Really disappointed in the service and quality of work. Went in for a dip manicure and got a man. When he wasn't texting on his phone he was being super harsh with my hands. To the point that he made my cuticle bleed and I had to tell him to stop. The end result is par. Nothing special and not worth the 40 dollars. They don't even soak your nails long enough to remove prior polish. I saw women scraping it off which weakens the nail. I definitely won't be back and refused to leave a tip. read more

Started out great! The mask on my mail tech was on properly, and he was seemingly quick but thorough. Massage was nice, i get a manicure/pedicure once a year, I treat myself for my birthday. I never had such attention to my calves and that was relaxing. I thanked him for making me "not embarrassed of my feet" and his response was that I didn't have too many calluses and my feet were fine...that was shocking to me and I was convinced my feet were soft. But they weren't! He just left a lot of callus on and went through the motions of bugging my natural mail beds real quick, not producing a smooth mail bed on any of my nails. He just "went through the motions" and wasn't efficient. The drying station had mail dust from a previous client, and my clean hands were stuck on it for 20 minutes. I don't think I'll go back, the only thing I'm happy with is the color I chose for polish and the shape of the nails. I could have easily done this myself and saved $67. I was a "quick buck" to them, but to me, this was my birthday present to myself and I'm disappointed. read more

Just got my nails done yesterday, 1.I requested gel dip. She started to put gel tips on without asking. 2. I attached a picture of where she got a little carried away with true electric filer. 3. When I paid, I offered to go to my car to get a cash tip, and she asked if I could pay for all of it in cash. 4. No lotion put on my hands at all, I walked out with dry cuticles. My nails do look good though, we'll see how they hold up read more

I'm not quite sure why all the negative reviews! It's like every typical nail place. Lots of workers, fast work, boom, done. I was assigned a guy to give me a pedicure and it was one of the best. I had a massage chair for my back and sauce a great massage on my leg and feet! He kept asking if the water was the right temperature and if I was enjoying it. I thought a for customer service! He was very detail oriented. Yes the regular chit chatter in Vietnamese (you never know if they're talking about you) but hey your paying for the services so let them talk! Mani-Pedi Factory. They must have 8-10 pedi chairs and 10-12 mani tables. They have more colors than I have ever seen in a nail salon. Pedi was $30. Opens at 10am on Saturday and by 1030am I had a 15 minute wait. Clearly, this is where the ladies go. read more

I had previously written a not-so-great review of Star Nails. Based on the past 3 experiences there, I have left so happy with my manicure. Yesterday I got my nails done and they turned out beautifully. I later chipped my thumb nail (dip manicure) at work, and went in this morning to have it repaired. They took me right away and did not charge me! The nail looks as good as new- can't even tell! There's a reason I keep coming back to Star Nails. read more

I used to go there all the time and stopped due to the factory like atmosphere. I recently received a gift cert and went back. Never again not even for free. Manicure is a laugh, I have hangnails everywhere. No cuticle push back. Pedicure sat for 30 minutes before it was my turn. Appointment or not they don't care. What a shame used to really like the place. Also don't know how sterile since they do not open packets in front of you if they even sterilize that way. Waste of my precious time. read more

Not the worst place I've ever been. The manicure was okay. Medioca at best. The polish was put on great!!! Only cost 25$ good price to me. read more

I won't go back. I found myself here two or three times out of desperation but seriously, not diggin' it! I worry about hygiene. I recently saw them pass people in and out of the foot basins and I never saw bleach or any cleaning product used. A simple rinse does not prevent fungus. Also, I once got a fill at this place and my nails looked like chiclettes when I left (thick and square). Great location but not such a great place. Sorry. read more

Just left there! Best salon I've ever been to. The chairs were easy to get in and out of and gave a great massage.
