Worst service and human interaction ever. Enough for me to take time out and leave a review. This place only enforced my fear of interacting with salesmen and dealerships. The guy never gave his name but was an old man with a leg injury limp. He came off as very hostile and very uninformative as if he didn't want to assist with a sale at all. Or he's already pre-judging customers as they walk in. I came with intentions of leasing a car under my company and understanding the steps, process, and the car itself. This man was no help and only made us feel dumb even when we were asking for help and info. The worst fear of going to a dealership is perhaps having to deal with a hostile, rude, neglecting customer service employee like him. AVOID AVOID AVOID -- leaving the first negative yelp review of my life to warn people: this place is the absolute worst, and I can't believe I let them scam me for years. It started early, so I really have no excuse for not seeing the red flags. Initially, I asked them to install the navigation system so I could hook my phone up to the car. They charged me $400, and installed their own deeply useless navi system. I was frustrated--I'd clearly asked for a navigation system that I could hook my phone up to. They pointed out I hadn't asked for apple carplay by name, and I conceded that I hadn't. I paid for apple carplay on top of the other useless navi, and that time they installed it. I wished they'd clarified before installing their useless navi, but decided it must've been an honest miscommunication, and let it go. In hindsight, I should've taken the clue and found another dealership. I paid for USWC Maintenance and USWC Service Contract when I bought my car up in the bay, and was told that'd mean all basic maintenance is covered. When I went to Star Mazda, they said a lot of confusing stuff about exceptions and being outside of warranty even though I'd *just* bought it, adding fees for things like "turning the wheels"--and proceeded to charge me $400+ per visit. Again, I was all "well, I don't really know things about cars, this is probably fine, they wouldn't just *lie* to a costumer." Then I hit my tipping point. They charged me $670 for a replacement of a part I wasn't sure I needed, but they pressured me into getting. I felt weird and gross after the experience, and decided to try out another dealership, just to see if this was a universal thing. NEWS FLASH: nope! This is just Star Mazda being awful! The new place was like "oh, yeah, your contract absolutely covers basic maintenance, which we would've only charged $110 for anyway, but yeah, it's free." I am very happy with the service department of this dealership. They were able to make a valve stem seal repair that was complicated, took a week, and involved a known defect whereby Mazda was obliged to make this repair if your low engine oil light came on. . I had been struggling with my local nearby dealership who declined to do the repair, and didn't seem to understand the terms of the settlement. Called Star Mazda, and they made the appointment right away without any of the hassle. I was provided a loaner car, which was the same type of car I owned, so I would be familiar with it. Very thoughtful. My car is fixed and Star Mazda will get my business going forward. It's worth the drive. read more

Nick and alex sold me my car. The guys selling the car seem very nice and solid but they will lie to you to make a sale. The car I bought should have never have been put up for sale in the condition it was in. Anyways ok I take it to their service department. At first I was told I would be getting new head gaskets which can take a while. When I came to pick up my car A MONTH LATER they had told me all they did was replace the thermostat, which doesn't take a month to do. Okay I get the car back 3 days later I'm having the same issues with the coolant (and I told them this the first time) and also now it's having an issue starting. I take it back within 72 hours of having it. Now it has been another month and I still haven't driven my car more than a week. The service department DOESNT COMMUNICATE. THE SALES DO NOT COMMUNICATE. I have been trying to get in touch with lalo or John the general manager and they keep saying they will call me but never do. Don't waste your time. Save your money and energy. Don't buy a car here. I really regret it. I am trying to get a lawyer now to stop dealing with them. I would never ever buy a car from here again. read more

Great experience, but as soon as I drove off and reported a blinking light bulb sensor, they couldn't care less, because I called them out for missing something so obvious on a CPO as a burnt headlight! Not only that but the car wasn't detailed. Some guy probably did some cursory cleaning in such as rush, he actually left a dirty single-use cleaning cloth in between the seats. Talk about carelessness. I've emailed both sales managers and left a message with Tyson. Now that the deal is done, I have yet to get a call or email from Jon or Tyson. But 5 solid stars for the service guy Roy Wells who was both apologetic and ensured the fix would be free at Culver City Mazda (my closest dealership). If not for Roy and salesperson Edita, my review would have 1-2 stars. In summary: not properly checked CPO/crickets from sales managers afterward. read more

I Personally had a great experience today at Star Mazda. If you are in the market for a new car I highly recommend working with Raymond. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the cars and thoroughly goes over all of the features and how they work, he is so friendly and personable to work with. I used the Mazda build app online and sent out the request for the CX-5 I was interested in to several Mazda dealerships. I had an email by 8:59am from Raymond responding to my request. By 9:30am he texted me they had the exact car I wanted on the lot and it was being washed and ready to go in 30 mins for me to come test drive. I ran down there and by 10am we were out test driving my new car. From start to finish it was such a smooth experience, Raymond is such a professional! he had them working on my add ons while I was signing the paperwork. Even my experience with John in finance was great, super nice guy and so easy to work with. I drove home in my new car so happy with my purchase. I even had a question with apple play and gave Raymond a call once I got home and he picked up right away and walked me through the issue in a snap. My MX-5 RF Convertible sustained window damage. My insurance recommended Safelite Autoglass to do the repairs. Since this company only does auto glass, what could go wrong right. I made appt in Glendale location but they sent me to La Cienega instead. Then Safelite canceled on me 3 times. Not really a deal breaker but i was only informed of cancelations as I'm driving out to appt - Parts not delivered. The last straw was when I was there finally for windshield repair and they said they were gonna install an aftermarket windshield - I had requested OEM only. That was the last straw. I called Star Mazda in Glendale and got estimate at same price as Safelite, but with OEM windshield. Jerry at Star Mazda was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and reliable. He returned my calls and promplty coordinated appt date and time for repair. Work was done right and repair came with a 1yr warranty. 2 thumbs up to Jerry and Star Mazda for a job well done, and level of service for other dealerships to emulate. read more

I had the oddest experience here at this dealership. I went on a Sunday morning after seeing two cars online I liked. I test drove a cx-3 and wasn't super impressed. The sales man didn't give me any details on the car or try and talk it up at all. He handed me the keys took my id and said have a nice drive. Odd. I asked to test drive another car the 2018 Mazda hatch back. I stood there for maybe 20 Minutes while multiple people scrambled to find the keys. Ultimately they couldn't find the key. That's fine . I follow up again the next day after no one called me - still no keys - I follow up again Tuesday they said they're going to make a new one. I follow up Tuesday night and say I have free time to come Wednesday morning they say the key won't be ready until Wednesday pm. I start to feel frustrated like I shouldn't have to work this hard to test drive a car I was pretty sure I wanted . This may be no fault of the people that work there, the dealership it self needs a serious facelift. But it was super unprofessional and the whole thing just felt off. So I took my car in here for service since it's close to my house. For some reason it's always full booked online if you looking for a specific date that you are available But if you calling them and asking for the same day if they have it available and of course they do ( Strange honestly why not available online but over the phone? ) Anyhow, 2 years ago they said I had a nail on the side of my tire I need to change the whole tire right away because it's dangerous. ( They can't fix it) I looked up my tire was around 200 something or maybe less anyhow I kept post pone it and didn't care so much about changing tire. Drove with it to Yosemite and San Francisco with knowing I had a nail but nothing happen everything all fine. Hear this one out 2 years later or so I decide to come back to them and this time they told me the same thing about the nail. But all they needed to do was patch it and that's about it. Which is ridiculous before I was in dangerous situation and need to change it right away but now? I'm okey suddenly? So what is it? One person saying one thing and the another one saying something different? So what does it mean? If I listen to the person from the beginning I will lost 200 dollar something over 27 dollar that cost me to fix? Honestly I don't know anymore what is what but it's give me a split feeling if I should bring back my car there again? Or should I go back to Culver City because their service is excellent read more

I used to service my car at Star Mazda, I was a loyal customer there for several years. But for some reason, the quality of service from this location has recently gone down. I went to do a basic car service (oil change). I stopped by early morning to do a basic car service (oil change) and waited almost 4 hours for the service to be completed. After the service was done, I decided to check the oil level myself. I noticed that the level was still very low and hadn't been changed at all! The service sticker on my windshield was still the exact same as before. Not sure what happened to quality of service they used to have, but I definitely won't be coming back to service my car here! read more

I've been looking for a new car for awhile and was honestly going to look at Subaru, but the Subaru in Glendale was not following Covid-19 guidelines and in general they were pretty rude. Their policy on test driving cars was that we could only go one at a time and we'd have to be in the backseat and they would drive. 1) that doesn't actually do anything for coronavirus -- we'd still be breathing each other's air, and 2) that kinda defeats the purpose of a test drive, right? We had been looking at Mazda, too, since we wanted some kind of SUV but still wanted it to be a little on the fun side. We went across the street to Star Mazda and met with Kyle. Kyle is phenomenal. Everyone at Star Mazda was wearing masks and practicing safe social distancing. They had hand sanitizer available for customers, they stayed 6 feet apart, and they discussed the different options of cars with us. We wanted to test drive a CX-30, so he disinfected it for us and we took it out on our own so we wouldn't be within 6 feet of someone outside of our household. Subaru - take notes! The car is great, we ended up buying it and picked it up a few days later. Kyle let me take a picture with the bow (which I know is sorta silly but I'm really glad I got the shot!). He left the plastic on the inside of the car because he knew I was concerned with cleanliness so I could take it off myself. When we actually did the paperwork, he sanitized the keyboard and gave me a brand new pen out of the box so there was no germ risk (and I got to keep the pen!). Their finance/business person was also very helpful and explained everything. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the customer service as well as the price of the vehicle. This car is replacing my manual Fiat Abarth, which I've loved and driven for 7 years. However, I wanted something better for the traffic and a little bigger since it's hard to fit anything in the "trunk" of my Fiat. Also, I was looking for safety. Mazda kills it on these criteria so I'm very pleased. I've had it for a week now and we took it on a short road trip and it's everything I hoped and dreamed of! I read more

Sophia was the one to come out and greet me right off the bat; she was very nice, polite, and very direct and to the point when I told her I knew exactly what I wanted. She gave me her personal cell phone number and made sure to check up on me until the end of our business with one another. I used to service my car with this dealer's service center. I always have taken care of by Nathon Madison. With the same hope, I visited today but Nathon stepped out for lunch and I was taken, care by someone. When I booked my service appointment, I mentioned I need a loaner car and two days ago I called the service department and someone confirmed that they made a note of my request and when I come in for service, they will provide a loaner car or alternate options (rental car) to provide. Today when I visited for my service, I was told that the loaner car is not available and they don't see my name on the list. I was also told that I should remember the name (the person who confirmed over the phone) on the loaner car. They treated as if I was telling lie. From our very first transaction a few years ago I completely connected with her and she delivered such amazing service. My first transaction with her was so smooth and non-stressful. She was thorough and attentive. I liked her so much that I came back for my 2nd transaction and I made sure she was still there. Then shortly after that my son purchased his first car and he also wanted a Mazda from Edita. And now I am on my third Mazda from Edita. that's 4 Mazdas! We clearly have a wonderful history.
