    Federal Way Downtown Station

Everyone knows you head down to Federal Way for Korean food. It's pretty obvious once you start…read moreseeing business signs in Hangul off Pac Hwy. Now you can get here by taking the light rail. The light rail connection from Federal Way to Sea-Tac Airport and Downtown Seattle is a big win for the South End. It's pretty convenient since it's close to the I-5 ramps. I know it'll be a drop off point for folks heading to the airport, work and school. The best thing about the 1 line is that it takes you right into downtown Seattle and UW without having to transfer to other lines. Plus, if you get on at the Federal Way station you'll get first dibs on prime seats. Hi-Five, right? Just like the named art piece at the station. The track feels like the Canada Line SkyTrain from Richmond to Vancouver, BC. No fare gates so fare evasion happens all the time. No platform screen doors like Sea-Tac Airport's underground trains so pay attention and don't fall on the tracks. As for tourism, some people may opt to stay in hotels in Federal Way rather than downtown Seattle or SeaTac. With this new light rail station, it's only a couple stops away from Sea-Tac Airport and less than an hour to Westlake Station/Downtown Seattle. I'm sure hotel shuttles will be a common sight at this station too. I always saw shuttles at the Angle Lake station whenever I dropped fam and friends off. They have public restrooms at this station. Hopefully during Summer 2026 they'll have enough Honey Buckets for stations that don't have restrooms. With all the games, concerts, and special events at the stadiums plus heatwaves there's going to be a lot of beverage consumption. Federal Way doesn't have free on-demand shuttle service like Bellevue. People will still have to use their car to navigate around the business district. As Federal Way grows, I'm curious how the city will shift from being car-centric to pedestrian-friendly. They don't have to reinvent the wheel. They just have to study the growth blueprint of Lynnwood and Redmond, ask them about their successes and failures, then apply whatever fits the needs of this South End community. I just hope Federal Way finds passionate, experienced urban planners who have the best interest for this area. I'm ok if the city takes their time strategically planning growth as long as they're thoughtful about the PNW environment and the people they serve. Anyway, the Federal Way Link Extension grand opening was a fun celebration. Lots of people showed up. Not everyone was able to get on the first NB train though. They had food trucks, activities, and pop-up tents with freebies and swag bags plus they had ST Merch. It was a successful party. Next up? The 2 Line Crosslake Connection.

I stopped at the Thriftway just because there was a stop there and got to buy some nice little snackies. As we rode around, I saw businesses I want to try. I had no idea there was a Melting Pot nearby, so I'm gonna take Mom to the station near the Tacoma Dome, take the train there and have our fondue, then have a little adventure riding the rails. Why not? It's cheap and it's fun.

My family of 4 took a trip out to Tacoma WA to visit with relatives, and at the recommendation of…read moreclose family, we made reservations with All City Airport Car Service. We needed a car seat and a booster seat for our children ages 4 and 7, and were told those would be available and ready when the car arrived. When the car did arrive, we watched our driver, Chris, opened the trunk, fetched a car seat and booster seat, tossed both onto the backseat, then stood by the opened trunk and watched as my husband loaded the luggage. Then as I wrangled my children and kept them away from airport traffic, I witnessed Chris circle back to the front seat, get in, close the door, buckle up, and then simply sit and watch as my husband again struggle for a good 10-15 minutes to attach and secure both the car seat and booster. If there were any legality that may have prevented Chris from setting up the car seat and booster seat beforehand, we were not informed. He said nothing. He did nothing. He just watched. The final straw was the state of the car seat: visibly grimy with dark stains. It looked like it was picked up on the side of the road or fished out of the dumpster somewhere. Our 4-year old became so frightened, he fought us and cried as we bit our tongue and strapped him in. The booster seat was in no better shape, but our 7-year old handled it better--kudos to him. The car itself, at least, was clean. The driving was safe, thank goodness, but the ride reflected its driver's bitter and sour mood. Our conclusion? Never again. If you are a family traveling with young children, take note.

I was worried that if i used a rideshare service a driver might not be available and prompt so early in the morning. Excellent service - clean car, plenty of luggage space, friendly and competent driver, and I called to book less than 24 hours the day before. Great peace of mind to not miss my flight. The person on the phone was competent and prompt to answer questions / give me a quote as well. These folks had the most competitive price leaving from a residential neighborhood in seattle (1/2 the cost of me paying to park at seatac). I will definitely book with them again for an early morning or late night airport ride.

When we got there a day and a half late, they charged us based on the discounted rate from our prepaid reservation. That was fair and fine by me. SeaTac Park's rates are higher than many of the other SeaTac lots, but the level of service is also much higher. The parking stalls are wide and well lit, and the staff are terrific. Fingers crossed the new ownership keeps up the good work.

Instead I chose SeaTac Park based on Yelp reviews. So to all the fellow Yelpers who took the time to post about their experiences with this indie company, thank you! Based on my departing flight, taking the bus and light rail was not an option. Nor did I want to ask a very early AM favor from others. Taking an Uber/Lyft was cost prohibitive. So I decided I was going to drive south, entrust my car with SeaTac Park, and use their shuttle service to the airport. I wished I had booked my 8/23/25 online reservation much sooner, because booking earlier, the bigger the discount. Arrived with plenty of time on 8/26/25, checked in at their booth, drove and parked at an open spot, and I sleepily boarded the shuttle which brought me and others to our designated airport departure spots. Make sure to retain your parking receipt in a safe place while on holiday! Returned on 9/2/25 and texted the phone number from the parking receipt once I was at the ground transportation level. For SeaTac Park, it's best to wait for arranged shuttle pick up at Level 3 island #1 or island #3. Remember to tip your shuttle drivers to and from! I got dropped off right at my vehicle with my luggage placed by my trunk. There was no issue at the checkout booth and soon I was on my way back home. Due to my red eye, I was driving in rush hour traffic - talk about welcome back from my holiday, lol. Shout out to Susanna LaTempa and the four staff members (departure - gate check-in and shuttle driver and arrival - shuttle driver, and gate checkout)! Easy booking, questions answered promptly, conveniently located, pleasant customer service, and my car was kept secure during my holiday. Thank you SeaTac Park - highly recommended!
