I have been getting my nails done here for years. I only do it once or twice a year max, but they ALWAYS remember me, even asking about family members that I have told them about. My favorite employee moved away and then I found Kathy. She does a great job and I feel totally at ease with her competence level and as a added bonus she is super cool. These woman who work here have great senses of humor and remember their clients. If you are of a mind, listen to them and join in on the fun! The owner has a great sense of who to hire and makes sure that they represent her and the salon in a wonderful way. Me and my partner were recommended this place by a really sweet lady with nice nails because we needed a hair cut and I had to go to my brother's wedding. I didn't care that much but my partner wanted to go, so we did and got great haircuts BY THE OWNER, so we thought this was a good place to get nails done for something important like a wedding. So we actually brought friends along because we really liked this place, I got nice nails, our friend got good nails, but my partner got chopped bad. I noticed my partner's nails were off from the photos they showed me but I paid full price with a 20% tip because I'm a good lad, but man it was EXPENSIVE and those nails came off in TWO DAYS! We got the shellac and everything and overall for the two of us it was 300 usd. We didn't have any pictures of the nails on my partners fingers because they were embarrassed to really show them off, but you can see that the white lines on all the nails are crooked and uneven. The pricing was weird too, I was trying to make out what it actually was and it kinda sounded a little made up to me, but my partner said it was about right so idk. Also I was just left in bags of wax for 30 whole minutes while this nail tech went doctor doom on my partner who now has to get their nails redone while we drive down to the wedding. Will not be returning to this nail salon. Had an appoint for three people and they seemed unprepared to receive us. Waited a long time before they even started to service and then sequenced us rather than starting together. Prices quoted and displayed on service menu were different than prices charged. They Couldn't clearly explain why. If it had been due to the need to remove existing polish they should asked up front so they quote you accurately or at least inform you when you begin. After running my credit card for the "new price" they said they forgot to charge me something and needed to run it again for another $5. In terms of quality, it was borderline acceptable. Big toe has decent coverage, smaller toes are uneven with lower coverage. Shape/filing was mediocre and uneven. Seemed to be rushing, very curt if you asked them to fix issues. read more

Pretty gross tip begging here. Tina cuts hair but Tina asks for tip and reminds you about tip over and over. Tina decides not to give proper change and pockets even more tip. Tina has an absurd idea that pushing her old boobs into your arm and head will induce bigger tip. Tina is gross. To boot. Tina's idea of head massage is to irritatingly rub conditioner for four minutes. Tina can't even properly operate the shears. Tina leaves long hairs all over. This place is really a great find. As one of the Asian nail places, the prices are very good. I expected that. What I didn't expect was to get, literally, THE best mani-pedi I've ever had, hands down. Usually when it comes to pedicures, I just want my toenails to look nice and that's all I care about. The courtesy massage thing often just annoys me, because it's usually rushed and anything but relaxing. Unless you want to pay a million dollars at a spa or something. Well, I found out here that the massage thing can be freaking AMAZING. They massage your legs and feet forever. I kept expecting it to end, but it kept going. Felt so good, I almost fell asleep. Not only that, the gal really worked and worked on my toes until they were the perfect shape and not at all crooked. It took her extra time, and I appreciate the effort she put into it. It was way above and beyond. So much so, in fact, that I didn't want to leave. :-) So I asked for a manicure as well and got the same treatment on my hands and fingernails. For $30, I left there relaxed, with a gorgeous manicure and pedicure, perfectly shaped nails, and feeling like I'd just been to the nicest spa in town. I obviously really recommend this place. NIGHTMARE Check out the pictures I have included under their photos. My hair is parted in the middle and the sides are anything but symmetric. My hair was much longer with small layers at the bottom. I asked for a trim of what I had and he chopped so much off before I realized what was happening and now, well, a cliche but the pics are worth a 1,000 words. The clamps were flying in my face and when I started complaining he didn't even stop cutting. A friend had loved this place but it changed management and I didn't realize it so I made an appointment and went. Save yourself mangled hair and DON'T GO. I saw my friend later that night and she told me a tale about the change and was very sad for me. This is my first review on Yelp and other sites that I've written on I've only given positive reviews. Most people only post the bad. The fungus story sounds like my story except for nails/skin. They will probably post a reply. I didn't go back to complain. They aren't worth the fuss. I'm not totally vain and my hair will grow back but hair is an intricate part of external self view. I'm a little wounded this morning. Writing review but then it's off to my old stylist who will chop a lot off, style it well and give me a shorter but intact EGO. My effort to save money and take a recommendation didn't work. Did an absolutely wonderful job on my shellac nails and lip wax. I really feel like I got my money's worth and the prices were cheaper than most places that I've been to. I am so disappointed. They seem so unprofessional about what theyre doing like they werent trained well. I started coming here off the recommendation of my barista. Did some research online to find out that one of the ladies here did AMAZING freehand artwork. Mia was great to get my nails done from ... high quality, always made sure they were exactly how I wanted, the artwork was spot on, and (possibly best of all) she carried on a conversation with YOU (the customer) in English !!! I had to see someone else two visits ago because Mia was busy, she didn't ask a single thing about my nails, rushed through getting my fill done. In the 2 weeks between fills I had 4 nails pop off (never had this happen previously). I stopped in to get my fill from Mia to find out that she doesn't work there anymore. :-( I then was charged $7.00 to fix the 4 nails that had fallen off because of the previous sub par fill. I am not sure if I wanted to give out the name of my favourite staff there... because that could mean she'd be booked all the time. Oh well, she's super nice and great at what she does... sooooooo... Linh is her name! In general, their nail services are great and waxing procedures are professionally done as well. However, I feel most comfortable with Linh. She always does such a great job with my nails (and eyebrows!). This past Sunday was my 6th visit there and I am still happy with the result. The only caveat of this place is... the distance from where I live (13+ miles o/w). However since the price is really reasonable and quality of the service are great, I don't mind driving up there to see Linh. **It gets a bit busy on the weekend, so make a reservation to save you a long queue/wait time. read more

I keep coming back though I'm not terribly impressed. The main reason I keep coming back is because it is close to home (I can walk) and it's not expensive. I've had worse but I've also had better. I think one of their major issues is that their polish is old. It chips and smudges easily. I think they need to throw must of it out and invest in some new. It's usually steady (business-wise) but not busy unless it's a sunny day. There is one lady, not sure of her name but she's definitely the best. You have to make an appointment with her as it's unlikely you will just be able to walk-in and see her. I heard one woman tell her she's the best nail person in the area and she is willing to drive to this place to get her nails done by her. You can just call and ask for the girl that's always busy. Horrible horrible customer service! I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for me and my mom. While getting our pedicures done the hairstylist comes over to me and asks "what do you want for your nails" , I said full set acrylics with shellac. Which was mentioned at the time I made the appointment. Then she says the guy that does full set had an emergency and couldn't make it to work. There is 4 of them working there , one was doing a full set on someone else while I was getting my pedicure. So they lied and said they couldn't do it just so they can take care of all the walk ins they agreed to see while I had an appointment. She said call another place and get your acrylics done . The person sitting next to me was getting angry too because she also had an appointment and they took forever to finish on her because they kept seeing the walk ins. I moved here from Southern California where there was a nail salon on every corner and have had yet to find something comparable in price, fast work and cleanliness. Might I ad, a job well done.... Star is spacious and they have great prices. $30 for spa chair shellac. Feel like that is reasonable and competitive. Standard mani was $12! Very reasonable and very nice people. This place has given my roommate such horrible service. He went in for some highlights and he walked out with bright orange hair. The woman tried to convince him it was blonde highlights, he wanted brown highlights to begin with so the fact she even tried to make him think else wise is completely unprofessional!!! The lady doing my pedicure asked me if I was pregnant, when I said no, she asked me over and over and over again. I was just wearing a loose dress! At the end of my appointment I left in tears. I've taken in pictures and she can knock out any style if had long and short hair and she's kept me looking and feeling great.
