I have never…read morecanceled an appointment in probably 1 1/2 years of root touch ups & several foil treatments plus numerous hair cuts & gloss. I had to cancel an appointment due to a sick child at 23 hours plus some minutes. So very close to 24 hours. Lindsey immediately charged me full price for my first cancellation & said "I charged your card on file" . I understand the loss of a service but not even a " hey, is everything okay" "I want to give you the benefit of the doubt" & maybe charge half price. Now I will not return I even waited a day to think about if I should leave a review. I have been flexible for her over the 1 1/2 years but I was not treated the same. My hair services were average btw not suburb or anything so pretty easy to find another hairdresser. Sad I had to write this.

I had first seen Kimberly for a lash lift and tint in September 2019, everything went smoothly, and…read moremy lashes looked great afterwards! My last visit was the opposite. Requested an appointment for today at 11AM (10/05) the pervious morning around 9AM, I did not receive a confirmation for the appointment. The spa opened at 9AM the next day, I called at 9:30 to see if the appointment was overlooked, left a voicemail as nobody answered. Waited for half an hour with no response before texting the same number I had left a voicemail with asking about the time slot I had requested and if I needed to rebook it, the only response I got was "yes". It took up almost until half an hour before my requested appointment slot for it to actually be booked/confirmed. After all the trouble of getting an appointment booked, you can't really tell my lashes were lifted. They are predominantly straight, slightly curling in random areas after the lift. Comparing the photos I took after my appointment in 2019 to what I received today, I will not be returning.

Kimberly called me back the same day and set up a time that worked great for me. I received text message confirmations after I scheduled and also reminders a day before and day of- super helpful! The only negative about this is she got my name wrong in it. I was a little confused when I arrived- she has a small room inside the hair salon. Anyways, the appointment went well. She showed me the types of lashes she offered and the different application styles. She was very efficient and sweet. I had to ask for a neck pillow, and she put a rolled up towel under, which did the trick- I'm not sure how people can lay there for almost 2 hours without one! Overall, I'd recommend Kimberly and return again!

Updated Review: the owner contacted me and gave me a full refund within hours of my initial review…read more I really appreciate the prompt and helpful customer service. Thank you Cookie Nail Salon for the resolution. Initial review: For my 30th birthday I treated myself to gel x tortoise shell nails. It was my first time in the salon and it's so cute and comfortable. I wish I would've taken a picture of my nails, but just imagine very cookie cutter square nails, not filed well, and the polish was so bumpy like oatmeal. I was so disappointed. I actually went home and removed them as soon as possible. When I asked the front to look at my nails, they told me they were bumpy because of the design. I have been getting my nails done since I was 16 and I never had a nail tech create such a thick and bumpy build up of polish due to a design. I loved the customer service and free first time customer gift. But I will not be coming back.

Services at Sugar Mama's are by appointment only and that is a hard and fast rule since she is a single-woman shop. This isn't your run-of-the-mill spa that you find on every other block. Sugar Mama's is a professional business who supplies quiet and relaxing one-on-one services to her clients. This fact alone, makes Sugar Mama's stand out above the competition. I do not recommend this place and will never again, and here's why…read more I want to start out by saying, I have gone to Sugar Mama's Beauty Bar for the last 5 years. For many services, every 4 weeks. I have recommended many people to this business along with being happy with the results. That said, I have had the worst experience from there in the last week. First of all, my original appointment on 5/26/17 was cancelled. Jessica Fitzgerald (West), the owner, said she had an emergency. No problem, I'd been seeing her for many years, this is not the first time I had been cancelled on and I totally understand that emergencies happen. I then re-booked an appointment for 6/8/17. I couldn't remember what time I booked the appointment so I went onto her website to check, it showed cancelled. No notice, no nothing. I then texted Jessica asking if she accidentally cancelled that one too, assuming it was an error. I still needed a sugaring at this point. I asked her if she could stay late or come in a little early as this cancellation was not told to me. I was willing to be flexible, but needed her to be also. I asked her multiple times to give me a day that worked best for her. She never did. Said I needed to go book time on her website and that it wasn't her fault that they had been cancelled. I assumed she would be a smart enough business woman, to understand if she made a mistake to own it and be willing to fit for a long time customer. She wasn't. Her responses were rude and unprofessional. Saying "What can't you believe? That I'm not being over backwards to rip out your crotch hair out when there is a million other places you can go because my schedule doesn't work with yours?...you are being such a princess. I don't need this stupidity in my life." Mind you, she picked a profession that "rips out crotch hair" and I guess I was "being a princess" because she wouldn't help figure out a time that worked for both of us, after cancelling TWO appointments in the last week. Needless to say, I will never be going back and you shouldn't either. If you would like to actually have your appointments kept and someone professional, do not go here. Update: After posting this review Jessica again decided to text me about how I am "a piece shit" and that she "called the police and contacted her lawyer". Again showing how unprofessional she is behaving and all over a Facebook/ yelp review. If you don't want the drama, stay away from this place.

After some time he shows me the mirror and I tell him what I didn't like, and at this point it is not ending how I want it. however what really upset me was the barber that was cutting my hair and the other barbers started to talk in their language, which I don't mind, but it seemed like they were talking about me. at this point I didn't feel comfortable and I stood up and the owner tells me that I have been on the chair over an hour (this confirmed my speculation) as if cutting my hair was an inconvenience for them that they are barbers. It seemed he had a lot more to say but held back. At this point I wanted to pay and leave. As a minority I felt very discriminated against, maybe because I'm not white or middle eastern, they felt like I was an inconvenience for them. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.
