Eventually, I had to demand that the insurance payment made to Hams be refunded, and I had to take the car to a shop in Portland to get the Hams work removed (out-of-pocket cost to me) and then the restoration done properly.

After he was finished with the bodywork and paint job, he sent me a bill for another $27,000. I don't think anybody would believe bodywork and paint job would cost over $70,000. He has refused to return my car until I pay the final amount. I would tell my friends and anybody else to avoid him at all costs. Update - Fred Wilson has refused to release my car for 300 days unless I paid the $27,000. He has dropped that demand, but now says I owe him $45 a day to have stored the car, and will not release the car until I pay the additional $13,500. He also says the car may be considered abandoned, and threatens to put a lien on my vehicle.

He melted the wiring harness on my car and partially did the same to the new one (I made him buy the replacement). He did not rapair the chips along the bottom edge (rocker panels, etc.) and painted over them. He can do decent work, but he is sloppy and inconsistent. He is not professional in any manner. The neighboring businesses (I get good work done by AutoPro) are very happy to see him gone. I would give him negative stars if it were possible.
