I paid $38 for a child's fiesta dress but she looked so cute in it that it was worth it. There is also a Dia de los Muertos museum and large area of items to purchase. While San Antonio is known for its sweets, I thought I'd try a couple of places. First stop, Casa Dulce Dulceria (CDD). While CDD has numerous Mexican candies, no bueno for Tam Tams. I was struck by the number of piñatas in this candy store. San Antonio is known for piñatas. There are common at birthday celebrations ranging in size from small to large. The piñata is filled with candy and the blindfolded person hits the piñata. The piñata is normally strung from a tree and the person hitting the piñatas is spun around before swinging at the piñatas. Of course as a kid the fun part is grabbing the candy when the piñata bursts open. Fond memories... On to the next location...
