Although my September 2020 computer search identified several businesses in San Antonio who advertise chisel sharpening service, I found only The Knife Guy (Justin Center) a home-based business, actually doing the work, generally as same-day service. He sharpens knives, scissors and tools of various sorts. I was initially most impressed with Justin's affability and determination to need my needs and schedule. I wound up bringing several knives and chisels and am absolutely satisfied with the improved edges. I have found him to be fully professional and properly equipped. I had 4 sets of sewing scissors sharpened. Love the porch pickup and drop off with same day service. He sanitized upon return. Payed with PayPal. No contact service is great during COVID-19. Very affordable price @ $1.00 an inch. My total for 4 sets was $30. All others listed $30 for one set. Next day response to my service request invoice. Informed me when he picked up and dropped off. He also does tools @ $2.00 an inch. My pinking shears cut great now. I'm a bit of a scissor collector/ hoarder. I will definitely be using his services again. read more

The knife guy came to my house to pick up my scissors for sharpening and he came when he said he would. He also brought back the scissors when he said he would, which was a few hours later. I always appreciate that. Also it was nice not to have to get out during pandemic. He asks that you leave the items at the door and he delivers them back there. I've used his services three times (and my out-of-town in-laws brought their knives for him to sharpen as well after I explained the tremendous service and price for getting your knives as sharp as new). He picks up your knives, sharpens, and drops off (usually on the same day). Justin does great work. He is the best in San Antonio.
