When I went on The Laundry Spot's website I saw that they offered this service so figured I'd give them a try. I had a few questions so I called the number listed on the home page of the website, and the woman who answered referred me to another number for the pick up and delivery service which turned out is also listed if you click on the "delivery" link. I got an answering service and left my contact info and within minutes, James the owner called back and answered my questions and walked me through the process of setting up an account so that I could do the online scheduling myself. There were 3 convenient windows of times to select from for both pick up and delivery so I scheduled pick up between 8am-11am on Tuesday and delivery during that same timeframe the next day. I got a text a minute or so prior to them arriving both times and they were both within the scheduled timeframes. Since the home was unoccupied those days, I was able to text them the temporary door code I set up remotely and allow them to pick up and drop off inside in the entry way. The laundry consisted of two full sets of bedding, several towels dish towels, etc. All came back perfectly clean and nicely folded. Online I was able to select the type of soap (or even provide my own if desired), optional softeners, and add any specific instructions such as cold water, gentle cycle etc. I am so thrilled to have found this service! Since I'm a big fan of USEFUL technology, I'm very happy that I can do all of the scheduling from my smart phone, including paying the invoice. I was initially apprehensive about providing my credit card info and wanted to be sure the info was encrypted and secure. The owner, James, patiently explained to me that he's partnered with a few different technology platforms in order to make it possible to do all of this online, so it's all very secure and tested. One thing to note: because of the way the various platforms are linked, you see different URLs when you schedule versus looking at your account versus payment, but after it's set up it's a piece of cake. And best of all, the laundry comes back beautifully clean and nicely folded without me having to do a thing (I have back problems) so this is a wonderful solution for me. And the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend trying this laundry service and supporting a great local Austin business!

So our dryer broke about 2 to 3 weeks ago so I have had to go here a few times to keep our clothes…read morewashed and dried. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they have quite a few washing machines though there are a few broken ones and at least one that can't get hot water but works otherwise. The whole back wall is dryers which seems like plenty and would be if it were not for inconsiderate people. Most days I have gone managed to be a weekday so no bad. This last visit was on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Barely found a parking spot, but my big issue was the dryers. So many had clothes sitting in them, the cycle done but no one taking care of it. Not a great look when it is not busy but when it is so busy there are no open ones do better. I wish the laundromat had some kind of rule or did something if it is sitting there too long, at least when it is this busy. But otherwise it was fine. None of the TV's have ever been on, though that is one of the selling points on the wall. The first visit back in 2019 had one of them going. Since then not at all. They do sell cans of soda, water, and chips if you are going to be there for a while.

I explained the situation and said I would pay upwards of $200 to get it looking better, and explained I just did NOT want it to get worse. I didn't hear anything for a while and although there was a race against time to get my daughter photographed in it, I didn't want to put extra pressure on them. Despite multiple efforts from me, and the workers in the shop to get some kind of update, the owner was incredibly non-responsive. They had the garments and reference imagery for two months without update, and I went to pick it up and they had completely ruined the top. The top wasn't in perfect condition as it had a small localized bleed, but it looks like they did some treatment that definitely made the top worse. The owner said she didn't know what it looked like before and I had a framed reference sitting in her shop for two months. Really just sucks that my one request was for it to not get worse, and it was ok if they couldn't do anything about it. But they failed to communicate or understand their own professional limitations. The entire situation was already heartbreaking and this unprofessional business touching this garment was just the cherry on top.

I had a breast reduction earlier this year and brought in two brand new Left on Friday swim tops because they were too big after my surgery. I thought I would save myself the $200 buying new tops and have them taken in a little. There was obviously some sort of communication breakdown between me and the woman who I spoke to, that did my measurements, but even so, the final result is the worst sewing I have ever seen in my life. I could have done a 10x better job myself, but I wanted my things taken to a professional. Their work was not professional at all. It was a total botch job. Both tops were cut down the middle in the back (WHYYY? Not even on an already existing seam, just cut that b*tch right through the middle ‍) and then the two sides were sewn (really terrible, rough, ugly stitches) back together with the ends folding awkwardly inward onto my back, in an itchy and uncomfortable way. In addition to that, she didn't take both sides in equally so now the straps on both tops are asymmetrical! I mean you can see it in the photos. It's inexcusably dreadful. Neither swim top is wearable and I ended up having to buy new ones anyway. When I confronted the woman about it, I asked if she had actually SEEN the work, because I didn't want to assume that she had done it herself, and I told her they look really bad. She seemed a bit uncomfortable and said that yes, she had done the work herself, and when I pulled out the tops and showed her all of the above mentioned things, she got a little bit belligerent with me. Immediately defensive, started raising her voice, denied any wrongdoing, blamed me for all of it because I didn't communicate well enough, etc. I'm not sure how clear you have to be with someone about having a top taken in, but it didn't seem productive to have a yelly argument with the woman in her store, so I just said, "Ok, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough", and I chalked it up to a communication breakdown. She then offered to give me a 20% DISCOUNT on the work. I was absolutely baffled by this because not only was I still having to pay her for ruining my swim tops, but I would also need to spend another $200 to buy new ones. Bottom line: do not bring alterations here. They will ruin your clothes. You'll get better results letting a toddler play with your sewing machine.

Their business practices are shady, deceptive, and completely unprofessional. I trusted them with my items and my money, and they took advantage of that trust. I will admit that I have been satisfied with this dry cleaner for well over a decade until this week. I took pants in there to get laundered, I did not ask for a crease to be put into my pants yet it came back with one. I asked them to redo it without the crease. I came back again but the crease is still there and the owner, who said that the pants were made that way and there is nothing he can do. I told him I bought them without a crease- He still argued with me. When I asked him to reimburse me for a new pair he said no. I cannot believe how he can run a business like this and his customer is never right. I would highly suggest that you DO NOT do business with them knowing that if they destroy your clothing that it is not their fault and will not pay damages.
