Such kind staff! I ran in needing my dress fixed, the strap got torn in the dryer and I was going on a date that night with my bf. Even though they don't do same day fixes, Lilly squeezed me in since the fix was simple, and made sure the dress fit right before leaving. That dress meant a lot to me and I'm very thankful I can wear it again! Chill place, great service, and beautiful sewing! Straps look better than before

Asked for patches on the inside so it's belt together and this is how they sew it .

Be specific and have your receipt or the lady will deny doing work to your clothing. I walked in to get a portion of my $200 polo jeans patched for the winter instead of going to Walmart and getting an iron on . As soon as I walked in from having this previously done on another portion of my jeans the lady behind the counter saw the ugly zig zag stitching they had done on New Year's Eve and said no we didn't do that here we don't do that type of work !?!? Whaaaat? I repeatedly told her she was mistaken and that she wasn't even at the register the last time I came so how could she know? So basically she thought I was there to complain about the ugly stitching and became defensive without realizing that I was there to ask her for more business. Guilty conscience! As I explained that I had most definitely got the work done there her co worker spoke to her in Mandarin telling her that she had in-fact done the work . Now I'm standing in front of her with a giant smirk looked her in the eye and said so you like calling customers liars before you even know what they want ? She turned red but no apology just more like "yeah so what you want do ." I decided to let it go and said I want my jeans patched on this area above the last one you guys did on New Year's Eve , she cut me off saying "that was expensive fabric we used we don't have anymore " which cost me $15 for two small patches . I said what was it Versace Gucci maybe Louis Vuitton fabric?? She once again turned red and said no we only charge for work not fabric ?!?!? Whaaat ? Then why mention it because when I ask if it's Versace quality lol she took back that expensive fabric talk real quick . I feel like they where being a bit racist to me because I'm. It Asian lol they where definitely talking shit and probably gave me the worst patch work ever ! I wish I had gone to Walmart as I have now invested $15 dollars on one visit and $7 on the other for zig zags clearly visible on my Polos LOL I'll be taking them out and using iron on like I should have in the first place always go with your gut people . It's a damn shame because everyone else who works there is nice. As a Business owner myself I personally think an apology is a sign of respect not weakness which she apparently hasn't learned yet .

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!! They ruined a BRAND new jumpsuit from Anthropologie and would not pay for the garnet they completely ruined. The tag on my garment clearly says only warm iron but as soon as I looked at it to pick up it was shiny and the pocket outlines could be seen on the outside of the garment and the color was completely different from when o brought it in. So it was VERY OBVIOUSLY ironed with high heat. The fabric has even lost its integrity in some places so I cannot even wear my new garment!!! I even gave them a second chance to "fix" it (i don't know how that's possible with irreversible heat damage but that's what she claimed) and when i came back it wasn't any better and she wouldn't pay me for the garment even though before I left it a second time she said she would. This place is a scam and customer service does not exist here. They are completely dishonest!!! She said that when something is new after the first cleaning that's how it's supposed to look. WHATT!!?? it's no longer wearable! I KNOW that's not how it's supposed to look, i have used a dry cleaning service before many times and have never had a problem like this. They are dishonest and they are not running a professional business. I WILL be reporting to BBB and attempting to get my garment paid for and replaced, this is unfair and complete mistreatment. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!!

Swim suit alteration

I am absolutely smitten with their work! They were able to fix my bathing suit for me. In the photo, you'll see on the left side that the swim suit didn't fit my top half at all. On the right, you'll see they were able to get it to perfectly fit my body including all the straps they had to undo and tighten. They were the only shop willing to help me & they were also very kind and polite. For me, the turn around time was quick (5 days), & affordable.

How much will it cost to get my sweatshirt hemmed by cutting off…2 inches on both arm sleeves, 2 inches off both sides of the sweatshirt! & 2 inches on the bottom. plus how much will it be to sew all of it up?

We would need to take a look at the sweater to see what type of seam the sleeves and bottom have in order to sew it up but the estimated cost would be $40+ tax.

I always get holes in the knees of my jeans, which didn't matter until I started buying more expensive jeans. I'd get maybe one pair a year which would typically last longer. But they'd still eventually wear out and get holes in the knees. My wife eventually asked me to throw them out, but I discovered this place which went to heroic lengths to patch up anything. The results looked kind of messy but also cool. That was all well and good. But for the past two years I've taken exceedingly good care of the last pair of jeans I bought. For instance, I always make sure to pull them up to add some slack to the knees when I sit down so I won't stress the fabric there. In spite of my efforts the other day I noticed a very tiny hole had started to form (not even big enough to stick my finger through). I decided to be proactive about it and take them to Velma's before the problem got worse. They say a stitch in time saves nine, right? I'm crestfallen because for some reason Vilma's Tailor Shop sewed giant patches in BOTH knees of these otherwise perfect looking jeans (tangent: to be fair there was a knick- but not quite a hole - around the other knee; however I didn't ask them to fix that problem at all!). There's now this noticeable line of stitches in a boring 10x6 inch box pattern on the outside that make the jeans look weird, like I had them bedazzled. That's always a risk of patching up jeans, but I didn't ask for a patch in them at all- I just wanted a simple stitch! I also got a previous pair fixed and some of the patches were smaller- like 6 x 3.5 inches. So if they could've used a smaller patch, why didn't they? These were easily my favorite pair of jeans and now they look so stupid. I don't have the money to buy a new pair right now but that's all I've been able to think about since returning home. I don't understand why a tiny problem had to be addressed with a huge alteration. It's not intuitive. However they don't have great English skills here and I'm wondering if maybe when I was warned and accepted this somehow so its on me. I tried very hard to talk with her to just let her know I was disappointed, but it was impossible to communicate the subtleties even with the help of Google translate. I'm only knocking one star off my review because I feel like good people are working here and they try their best, and this was mostly a communication problem. I can't help but feel responsible because I dropped them off and had issues communicating in the first place. In hindsight I never should have handed them my best pair of jeans but did because I'd had good experiences in the past and didn't think they'd do something so bizarre . If you've read my warnings and follow them it will be a five star experience.

I had a lot of difficulty trying to get in touch with her to find a good solution for my tuxedo. She ignored calls and texts for days at a time. This was after I had already paid for the work - The price of the work was on the high end, and I feel for the quality of work and experience there are tailors that charge much less - The owner gave me her word that she would reimburse me for having another tailor adjust the shoulder seam without shortening the sleeve length, which could not be done with her tailor. After bringing in the coat with amended shoulders and an invoice, she went back on her word and refused to reimburse me. She claimed the other tailor (a reputable one) didn't make the adjustment at all. Even after I was able to confirm with her tailor it was adjusted, just in a different way than he expected Pictured is the bulge that remained in my shirt after 5 trips to the shop to get it right. I would recommend spending your money and time on another tailor for a better experience.

This man is a true custom tailor and does outstanding work. Continental Bespoke Tailors and Alterations is a little hidden shop off 183 before you get to Mc Neil at 12591 Research Blvd suite 202. There is only one entrance and one exit that's easy to miss and it's immediately after passing Technology Blvd. The owner is an amazing guy from Romania who literally is a lost gem in this day and age. He does everything so precisely you'd never know it's was altered in any way. A one of a kind tailor that's more like an artist in his own right. On his shop he also sells very nice dress suits and ties. I had him alter two pair of pants including tapering the fitment on the legs and he knocked it out in three days on top of all the other stuff he has going on. The owner is extremely humble and a genuinely kind person that works hard at pleasing customers. I was very blessed to find this man in such short time and am very grateful he was able to alter my clothes so well they look like they came that way. I absolutely recommend visiting him for any custom tailor needs especially suits. Last but not least his pricing was on par with his work , you get what you pay for and although he's not super cheap he also got my pants done quickly executed the work extremely well and was very professional about everything.

Says so right on the giant window cling at the front of the store, which faces a Dollar General and Big Lots in the faded strip center that time forgot - same dingy block where Asia Market and Ann's Kitchen Cakes are located. I had snagged an awesome pair of fancy Penguin brand jeans at Ross, original MSRP $128, Ross bargain price $19.99. Yay for bargains! The fit was fantastic, but as with most designer jeans on my 62 inch frame, the length was about 10 inches too long. If only clothing makers would realize that most human females are not built like the specimens on America's Next Top Model.... It took Alterations to Go only 2 days to complete my job, and that was on a holiday week. I asked that the original "designer" hem be replicated and was promised that it would be, but when I went to pickup the pants, a wrong colored thread had been used. I pointed this out to the tailor/manager (who was not the same person I spoke to when dropping off); he apologized and offered to replace the thread with one that was close to the original, as they did not have that exact color in jean-strength thread. The jeans were ready within 24 hours and the hem looked great. Even though I had to wait an additional day, I will use ATG again & recommend them to petite friends for hem work. The customer service response to my problem was excellent and the $8 price can't be beat. Just know that you have to be sure to check the work when you pickup, and don't be afraid to ask for a do over if you don't like the work the first time around.
