Tonight I had the French Onion soup cheese less due to an allergy. They were very kind to accommodate to my dietary needs. The soup was so delicious and full of flavor. My main course was the Eggplant Parmigiana-less. The chef is amazing!! The best!! The marinara sauce was the perfect amount. (sometimes that is all you see in restaurants is a ladle full of sauce) Super plus. To end my dinner I ordered the crème brûlée. Homemade whip cream on the side with a cookie. The creamiest!! I'm so pleased to discover this hidden gem in Cornville, thanks to fellow yelpers! My husband and I are staying in Cornville with another couple. I was in charge of finding a place to eat that wasn't located in Sedona. I found Star Bistro on Yelp and after reading the reviews, it was easy to decide that this is where we would dining. It's a small place, but has outdoor seating. We sat inside and the place was full with lots of conversation going on in the restaurant. We sat in a booth and were greeted by our server, Kelly. We looked over the menu (although I cheated by looking online at the menu). The menu is not extensive, but all the choices are amazing. There are also daily specials. I ordered the special, Steak Au Poivre with roasted potatoes. Each entree includes a small salad. My hubby opted for the pasta special.. Spaghetti Bolognese with Prime Rib, which looked decadent. Our friends chose Spaghetti Bolognese and Chicken Olivia. You have to order the French Onion Soup ... it's the best I've eaten and is a speciality of Chef Robert. It was easy to see we enjoyed our meals, as there was no conversation going on during dinner. We had no room for dessert, but we did manage to bring bread pudding and carrot cake back to our timeshare. As I'm writing this review, my hubby tried the warm bread pudding, which was yummy. If you find yourself in Cornville, please stop in and enjoy the great food at Star Bistro. The staff, service and food is excellent and Chef Robert may stop by your table. This was one of the most amazing culinary experiences of my life. The food was TOP NOTCH and the chef came to talk to us multiple times. In fact, he invited us into his kitchen when we asked about the preparation of an appetizer. This experience was exactly the same that we had in Tuscany. We decided to cancel reservations for another restaurant tomorrow in Sedona in favor of a second night in a row at this place. If you want Michelin star food near Sedona, this is your place. The food and desserts are delicious. I had chicken marsala, the best chicken marsala I have had in 40 years. Desert creme brulee and whiskey bread pudding are the best. This chef comes to you asking how you are enjoying the food. The French onion soup was hot, as we liked. Delicious. The service was perfect and attentive to your needs--quite an ambiance. Went for our first time tonight (we live in Cornville). Our server, Danni was super nice and on top of things! The other server worked with her too, in clearing our plates (good team work, girls) we got the spinach tortellini soup and beef bourguignon and finished with the bread pudding. We looked over their menu online and decided to pop in for dinner. It's truly a gem to find a such a quaint place to eat for dinner where not only you can walk in and dine without a reservation but the entrees we ordered were absolutely delicious. I ordered the Linguine del Mare, my husband ordered the special of the evening. We loved our dinner so much that we brought out friends with us a couple weeks later to enjoy another evening here. This time I ordered the Salmon En Croute. I would highly recommend this restaurant to every visitor to our beautiful Verde Valley. read more

It was our first time at Star Bistro so it was all new to us. First thing I noticed was the cozy ambiance which is a big plus for me. The owner, introduced himself, seated us, and gave us the specials making it an even more intimate experience. I had the can't remember the first word but the something de Mares which was mussels, shrimp and clams in a marinara on pasta. FANTASTIC. Steve had the lasagna which was stated as, "the best lasagna I've ever had". Great atmosphere, great service, great food, great experience. We're definitely going back again and soon. read more

This is a must visit! The chef is amazing! Smallish menu, soft opening! (I hear the menu will be expanded, but worry not, the selections here are all mouth watering and exquisite) I had the salmon encased in a puff pastry with gently sautéed fresh zucchini and julienned carrots. There was a lite sauce that was to die for. I paired this with a pinot grigio. Perfect! The flavors blended beautifully. Just the right amount as well! (PS. no bones in the salmon to cause any worry) My hubby had Chicken Olivia with hearts of palm, artichoke hearts and tomatoes, served with linguine lightly seasoned with herbs and olive oil. The chicken breast also lightly grilled. He paired his with a pinot grigio as well. Very interesting story with the Chicken Olivia. (Olivia Newton John). You need to come in for the story. Desserts sounded amazing., but skipped it on this visit. We will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu! Charming atmosphere! Star Bistro was a pleasant surprise. Its exterior is unassuming from Cornville Road, but inside it is clean, comfortable and charming. Our server Cori was wonderful, and attentive. One of the owners, also Corey came out to visit with each group of diners. The food was pricey by Cornville standards, but also well made. The Steak Diane was extremely tasty, tender, and a generous portion. One of the owners is a pastry chef, so the Baklava Cheesecake was unbelievable. We will, no doubt, be making this a go to for creative, quality food. read more
