Rob Gott was all over it, reviewing all incentives and offers, checking other locations and then finding the perfect vehicle, right in Smyrna! Owen Bach handled everything quickly, there were plenty of gadgets and features to explain. He was very knowledgeable and helpful through the whole process. Can we all agree...the financial person at the end is "normally" the worst? Well, let me tell you!!! Laura Schafer, in finance, is an absolute DREAM to work with! She listens to your needs, explains the options available, makes recommendations, and keeps it moving. Quickest and most painless experience EVER!!

Purchased a jeep here Saturday, the wrangler sold itself as it's our 4th one. James ours salesman…read moredid a horrible job I did more of this sale with the sales manager, I had a commitment with my grandson Friday evening so I put $500 down to hold the jeep and picked it up Saturday. It's used and the key fob batteries needed replaced and I texted James before we arrived to pick up the Jeep could you please make sure fobs have new batteries, I was told I'd have to go to service for that but I gave this man advance notice and still had to buy new batteries. Next the Jeep had a aftermarket gas cap but only one key and was told Smyrna hardware cuts keys, next was the insurance issue I've never left a dealership where this issue wasn't addressed before leaving. James says just take a photo of the insurance card when your insurance company emails you one, so we do that it's not acceptable from the finance company so now I had to get a .pdf file to email him. We only financed a small amount to get running boards included in the deal I guess they didn't believe I was going to pay cash but did include running boards if I financed a portion. Then we find out there is no key for the spare tire wheel lock, contact James and reply once again is that's a service department issue. Service department is outstanding, they removed the locking lug and are ordering a locking lug and key to replace the one they took off and we've used this service department many years with prior Jeeps we own they know us by name when we walk in and always treat us great. I truly don't understand what James did to facilitate this deal other than makes excuses as the deal was basically closed via the sales manager. So I paid for batteries/keys did all the leg work to make sure the finance company got proper insurance information, wife took the jeep to service to get wheel lock taken off and they will replace it. (If sales ok's it) I've have purchased many vehicles here since it was BCP and one Wrangler and a Grand Cherokee since it's been IG Burton, boy I miss Rick Arlota now there was a salesman who understood customer service. I can't believe even in the sales department you don't have new batteries for key fobs, James could have ran to Smyrna hardware and had keys cut while we where in with the finance guy, he also could have told service about the locking lug and setup a time for us to go in and have it taken care of. We had actually told him we've always handled insurance before we even left the dealership and he said just send me a picture of your insurance card. Let's hope we can get those running boards installed now, I don't believe any of this was to much of an expectation on our part. It's not about the $23 I spent at Smyrna hardware for 2 batteries and to have 2 keys cut, it's about treating customers like you value their business. This was like a self checkout at WalMart. 4/20/26 edit So on a bad review your solution to this bad review was call us instead of reaching out to my wife and I. This is exactly what I mean when it comes to customer service and showing your customers that you value their business which you clearly do not. I may continue to use the service department as we are local and know a few of the people who work there and know them on a first name basis and they do look out for us. I have purchased vehicles from that exact location for over 30 years when it was Rothwells/BCP/IG Burton, it's no longer the local dealership that's part of the community. I understand your in business to turn a profit but you've lost a lot in how to and respect customers along the corporate path. More WalMart self checkout. 4/21/26 General manager did reach out to us briefly but during this communication he stated I only have a moment and end result was we will buy you the wheel locks and give you a free oil change in compensation, but I was put on a time limit in which he had to deal with me. If you don't have 5 or 10 minutes to deal with a situation whats the point ? 4/25/26 No confirmation of any wheel locks or any communication about any resolution. Apparently there is no communication between sales and service department. I more than likely could call the service department and they would resolve this as they have always been very accommodating to us but the point is I shouldn't have to. In the end we got a low mileage wrangler for what we expected to pay but this dealership has horrible customer service, I still have the wheel lock in my amazon cart. 4/27/26 So they have offered us free oil changes as compensation which is something because I've already purchased everything myself, yes I'm a pain but this was a relatively new wrangler with 5900 miles on it. Maybe it's because I'm a boomer and my expectations are higher, to me none of this should have occurred in the first place. So if you have no issue going through the self checkout on a major purchase in your life you can go here. Mr Burton did reach out to us.

I don't understand how this place got so many bad reviews, I bought a 17 GTI from there & had a…read moredamn good experience with them. They told me what the issues were up front, & anything that did pop up along the way they had it taken care of or in the process of being taken care of. They weren't underhanded about anything, not to mention the price they sold the car to me for is significantly lower than what competitors are selling for. They definitely pulled their weight & then some. I'm not sure what may have taken place in the past, but for buying from a used dealer. They did a good job in my opinion.

On 2/21/23 we bought a Ram 3500 diesel from Colonial Motors. On 2/22 the check engine like came on,…read morecalled Colonial and spoke to Angie who told us to bring it in and they'll take care of it. Dropped it off on 2/27 and picked it up on 3/2 and were told by Rich they replaced the SCR Catalist. On 3/3 the check engine light came back on. Dropped it back off to Colonial on 3/4 and picked it up on 3/6 and were told by Angie the tech said the computer was bad and needed to be replaced, they let us pick it up until the part came in and said it was safe to drive. That evening it flashed check air filter, we replaced the air filter and the light went out. We contacted Angie and let her know on 3/7 that the light went out and she was still keeping the part on order just in case. On 3/9 the check engine light came back on, when we contacted Angie to let her know she stated she canceled the part and it was the only one in the country and it would take 1-2 months to get another part. So we contacted a Dodge dealership and on 3/19 we dropped it off with them. On 3/20 they found the DEF injector connector missing water seal, missing DEF injector bolts & missing DEF injector o-ring. Colonial did cover the repairs from the dealership and we picked it up that evening. On 3/27 the check engine light came back on. Took it back to the dealership on 3/29 they spoke to Mike and Sarah at Colonial and diagnostic said SCR Cat Failure and injector seal. Colonial agreed to replace those parts and Sarah called and left us a voice message stating Colonial will be paying for all work and then stated that it was due to I.G. Burton putting faulty parts on the truck when it was in their shop. On 3/30 the dealership contacted us because they hadn't heard back from Colonial. We contacted Angie at Colonial and she asked why the truck was at the dealership and not at their lot. We explained because both times it was in there nothing was done to fix it. We were told by the owner Rich that the SRC Cat was replaced and it was not, it's still the same one that was on there when we bought it unless they replaced it with a used one and the sealant is RTV silicon between the 2 converters instead of using the proper gasket. Angie hung up on us, we called back 20 minutes later and she said "what could I possibly do for you now?" Words were exchanged and Angie hung up again. The dealership called and told us we needed to pick up the truck that Angie called up there and said they refused to pay for the work on the truck and that Angie said we needed to bring the truck to Colonial to have the repairs made. We were also sold a bumper to bumper warranty that doesn't cover any of the issues the truck is having or any of the emission system. Be weary if you purchase anything from them. Now we'll be out of pocket the costs because we can't trust them to do the proper work.
