The day of my appointment, I called to see if they could schedule me earlier. They said unfortunately that they were totally booked, and they do not take "walk-ins". No problem-I arrive 5 minutes before my appointment time. The agent on duty was involved with another client. After 15 minutes (10 minutes after my scheduled appointment) I informed the agent that I had a 2:00pm appointment. He responded that he would be with me in "just a minute". After waiting another 10 minutes, I again approached the agent, he informed me that the client he was working with "walked in" before I arrived, and he had to finish up with him first, and informed me he was preparing to take the walk-in client's vehicle for a test drive. I again informed him that I had made an appointment for 2:00pm. The agent responded that he was just trying to be "fair" and he would be with me in about 20 more minutes after he finishes taking a test drive on the walk- in client's vehicle. I again informed him that I had a confirmed 2:00pm appointment that asking me to wait over 40 minutes after my 2:00pm appointment for a walk-in client was not being fair. I waited another 5 minutes and decided to leave. I took my car to another company. WE BUY ANY CAR- SUCKS. Do not use them. They have no regard for customer service.

Here's a text exchange from their dealer, in the spirit of transparency.

I honestly can't believe the experience I just had with Chris in the service department at Martin…read moreHonda in Newark. Let me be very clear--this is a HONDA dealership. The brand built its reputation on reliability, longevity, and cars that last forever... and yet I was basically turned away for having a Honda that has actually stood the test of time. I called in to schedule a simple tune-up for my 1995 Prelude--nothing crazy, nothing out of the ordinary--and before I could even really get into it, Chris hit me with a rude, dismissive tone and told me they "don't work on cars that old." Excuse me? Since when does a Honda dealership refuse to service a Honda... for being a Honda that lasted 30 years? That's literally what the brand prides itself on. There was zero effort to help, no suggestions, no alternatives--just a flat-out no, delivered with an attitude that made it feel like I was wasting his time for even calling. It wasn't just unhelpful, it was flat-out disrespectful. What makes this even worse is how quickly that excuse fell apart. I called Union Park Honda right after, and without hesitation they scheduled me for an appointment this Thursday. No attitude, no excuses--just actual customer service like you'd expect from a dealership representing the Honda name. So let's be real: this isn't about the car being "too old." It's about poor service, lack of professionalism, and someone who clearly doesn't care about the brand they represent or the customers calling in. If this is how Martin Honda treats loyal Honda owners--especially ones keeping these cars on the road decades later--that says everything you need to know. I won't be calling back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone else waste their time either.
