I came here because I have a brake light that's been on the fritz for years. I usually avoid dealerships like the plague because I know how scammy and sketchy their service departments can be. However, I didn't really see any other option at this point because it has just been a nonstop issue for years. And the good news is, they fixed it and it was pretty cheap compared to what I was potentially expecting. However, driving home I noticed that my hood was flapping a bit. It was a windy day so I wrote it off to that for a couple minutes. But then it was like, "This isn't right." So I pulled off the interstate and saw that they had popped the hood and must have forgotten to close it. Obviously an easy thing to just pop it back closed, but I'm very glad it hadn't flown open while I was driving and potentially come off. Also, why were they popping the hood when I came in for a brake light repair? I admit I'm not very knowledgable with cars so it might have been related. But it's a crazy lack of oversight to just forget to close the freaking hood. And I hope that was the only thing that went wrong and I'm not just missing something else due to my lack of knowledge. read more

I brought my 2025 Camry in for a TPMS malfunction warning on what should have been a relaxing Saturday morning. Instead, what followed consumed my entire day and left me frustrated, out $199, and completely let down by a dealership that had every opportunity to make this right. From the moment I walked in I was informed of a $230 diagnostic fee with no guarantee it would be waived -- even though my car is still under full factory warranty. The stated condition was that if the cause turned out to be something outside of warranty coverage, the full $230 would stand. When the service advisor came to the waiting area to ask about my tires, I mentioned I had recently had a winter-to-spring tire swap done at Discount Tire. She surmised on the spot that Discount had not properly reprogrammed the sensors and that because the cause was external to the vehicle, the warranty would not cover it -- but she would reduce the charge to $199 plus tax. No negotiation. That was simply what I was told. When I checked out and asked the service advisor what the $199 was for, her entire response was a single word: "Labor." No elaboration. No breakdown. Just "labor." For nearly $200 on a car still under factory warranty, I deserved better than that. The issue was ultimately confirmed as incorrect TPMS sensor IDs -- a programming problem, not a hardware failure. What made this experience truly infuriating was what followed. My invoice was so poorly documented that it contained no separate technician cause and correction notes -- just a muddled block of text that didn't clearly explain what was found or what was done. I needed that documentation to seek reimbursement from the tire shop. A completely reasonable request. Instead I spent the better part of my Saturday being passed around, ignored, and ultimately stonewalled. A separate representative who called me after the fact claimed that Discount Tire wouldn't have the equipment to reprogram Toyota TPMS sensors -- an assertion that is simply incorrect. TPMS programming tools are industry standard at every professional tire shop. This felt like a convenient deflection rather than an honest assessment -- and frankly, it was insulting to my intelligence. That same representative attempted to transfer me to Ryan, the service manager. The call dropped after six rings. Ryan never called me back. I then called him myself and left a message. Still nothing. A service manager who can't be bothered to return a customer's call says everything about the culture at this dealership. When I followed up by text requesting clearer documentation, the advisor acknowledged the invoice was inadequate and said she would relay the feedback to her service manager. No offer to correct MY paperwork. No follow-up. Just silence. On a Saturday. When I was sitting there waiting for help. I've since canceled my 15k service appointment and will be returning to the dealership where I purchased my car. I came in with a straightforward problem and a reasonable request. I purchased a 2026 4Runner TRD Off-road from them about 3 months ago and it's been a nightmare from beginning to end. They tried to lowball me on both of my trade ins, by several thousand dollars on both. My Tacoma was understandable to have a slight drop due to some dents, but they tried to offer me 12K lower than middle ground trade In value. And then 3K below middle on my K5 because "it had high mileage", but that middle ground was for THAT mileage, and the Kia was pristine. After hours of fighting and finally come to an agreement, I thought we would be good. Just a week ago I went to put my plates on but both holes on the back were stripped from the sales person installing the wrong hardware and forcing it into place. I called in and they wanted to charge me $200 to fix when it was THEIR fault. When I said "that's f***in wild" and laughed, the service rep forwarded me to the manager with no warning or word. THEN, I left a VM to the support manager this last Wednesday and still have no word. Take your business literally anywhere else, this dealership is a joke. Me and my uncle own a car rentals business and we walked into this toyota dealership to buy around 5-10 cars, as soon as we walked in usually in every other dealership we get a salesman or anyone walks up to us and make is feel welcomed, here they just ignored us for about 5-10 minutes and the a sales man said from a distance while sitting on his desk if we need anything i walked over and he didn't even offer me to sit down. In general the service was horrible and attitude was disappointing, this delle lost a sale of 5-10 cars in one day simply because of the attitude and weak service. I paid $230 for a professional diagnosis and had work done 5/6 totaling $1,361.Unfortunately, the exact same noise returned before I even arrived home. Since then, I have attempted to reach my service advisor, Samantha Sigman, and have left voicemails for management that have gone unreturned. I feel completely disregarded now that the payment has been made. I paid for a service work that was not provided. At this point, I have lost trust in the shop's ability to diagnose my vehicle and provide decent customer service. I am requesting a refund for the ineffective diagnosis and labor. I purchased a brand-new 2025 Camry and brought it in for only its second oil change ever. The service department forgot to put oil in the car and destroyed the engine. Let that sink in. While I was waiting for them to arrange a loaner, I personally watched another vehicle pull into the service bay actively pouring oil onto the floor. I alerted the service representative, who immediately jumped up and rushed to the service writer--then quietly pulled that car back into the shop. Clearly, this is not an isolated incident but a pattern of gross negligence. For six months, I continued making car payments, paying insurance on a vehicle I couldn't drive, covering extra fuel costs, and losing access to the new-car subscriptions that expired while the car sat unusable. Throughout this time, I was repeatedly told they would "make it right." What I actually received was a half-hearted, scripted apology and two unacceptable options: Take my car back after the dealer rebuilt it because they destroyed it, or Pay an additional $1,300 for a "comparable" 2026 model. This is for Stapp service department: I took my grand Highlander in after going to another dealer 3 times to try to fix an issue. I was at the point of looking at trading it in. The Stapp team took me seriously, kept my vehicle for multiple days to make sure their fix covered as much of the issue as possible and gave me a loaner to make sure they could have the time to address the issue. I took off one star because I almost had to make a second trip bc they didn't order the key fob which was the original reason o had to trek up there almost causing me to have to go back for that. How It Started At 43,000 miles, my 2023 Tundra broke down during a known Toyota recall involving manufacturing debris left in engine components. Within three days, Stapp and Toyota decided on a rebuild rather than a full replacement. I disagreed. I received no advocacy from the dealership to push for the more appropriate repair. That decision would cost me months. Months of Waiting The only person who contacted me proactively was Sam in customer service -- I name her with her permission, because she deserves the credit. No service manager, no general manager, nobody in authority reached out unless I initiated it. I picked up the truck to find obvious, visible hail damage. The dealership took zero ownership, refused to discuss repairs, and returned a truck I'd given them in like-new condition with a shoulder shrug and a denial of responsibility. It Broke Down 13 Miles Later After ten and a half months, a new engine was installed and the vehicle supposedly passed a final diagnostic and test drive. I drove it off the lot. We should've read reviews before having our 2023 Tundra serviced (also purchased from Stapp). Run far, far away from this place--it'll be worth the effort to go to Corwin in Boulder or Pedersen in Ft. Collins. In June of '25 of our brand new Tundra broke down in the mountains with a known motor problem/recall. The truck, under warranty, was towed to Stapp, and it sat in a field filled with mice and other rodents, baking in the sun, for TEN MONTHS. Yes, you heard that right: ten months. Initially we were told they were waiting for parts for a full re-build of the motor. Be patient, they said...summer ends. Fall begins. We wait and wait for parts, and the only saving grace was Sam who texted us updates about the parts. We waited. Fall ends, winter begins. In the interim, our truck (still sitting in a field) suffered hail damage that Stapp refused to take responsibility for and rodents were most definitely finding refuge from the cold in the motor. "Waiting for parts" turned into "waiting for a new motor." Finally, in February, we were told the truck was ready. My husband picked it up, and it was filthy inside after sitting in a dry, dusty field since June. I mean, c'mom...what the hell kind of customer service is that? You can't take 20 minutes, as a way of saying thanks, to wash a truck and wipe down the inside after it sat baking in the sun for months? Well, about 20 minutes later, our truck broke down in the middle of a six lane road. We left it, called Stapp, and, despite having a thorough check (more than likely didn't happen), the catalytic convertors and ground bolts caused engine failure in the middle of the road--after it supposedly went through a check. I called Stapp. I told them to pick up the truck in the middle of the road, and that we needed a courtesy vehicle back. They had our truck for another month, and this time when it was returned to us? They didn't even wash it. It was messy, the inside still dirty and dusty, but after ten months we finally had our truck back. We received zero communication from anyone, other than Sam, in the service department. Every bit of communication was initiated by myself or my husband. Do yourself a favor and have your vehicles serviced elsewhere. We have purchased two trucks from Stapp, and we will never do so again. This was a nightmare of epic proportions, and they do not deserve your business. Run away. Far away. read more

When car was returned the Bluetooth didn't, work, there was damage done to the steeling wheel and console, and the air conditioner is constantly on. Went in for standard prepaid maintenance with a request to check the engine light for my tires. This is not my home Toyota Dealership but was close to where I'm staying. Glad it was for nothing serious. The maintenance was handled and my tires air checked, but halfway home I noticed the check engine light still on. Grrr. Drove back. When met by my technician, Kiley, I was presented with the option to return it to service to find the broken tire sensor. I asked how much? She said generally, "they aren't cheap." Kiley knew I was inconvenienced with this but never once apologized for missing that check. In fact, she and the other technicians lined up as a gauntlet in the service area seem to be trained to respond to customers with standard, generalized words - not really listening or paying attention to the service they are supposed to perform. They are polite. They smile. But, they don't know how to communicate or follow through on the service requested by the customer. Attempted to go into Lexus and Toyota today to look at purchasing a new vehicle. The Lexus sales agent didn't care to introduce himself and had no interest in helping anybody. We then went into the Toyota side, waited and waited, and were not able to get help from anybody. We finally left and won't be back. I am typically not one to write poor reviews because I understand everybody has bad days, but this was just something I'd never seen before. While Stapp will sell you a vehicle at MSRP, they will not honor the extended warranties you purchase with them. Just as bad, Stapp's service department is disorganized, slow, and happy to lose business rather than run a simple diagnostic and follow through with the work. Buyer beware! On two separate occasions I have made an appointment weeks in advance, for diagnostics and service, and then waited hours only to be (1) asked why I brought the vehicle in, and then (2) told after more time that "nothing is wrong." The first occasion led top Stapp missing an alignment issue and the second a failing brake master cylinder. On that second visit they were kind enough to drive me home for the 8-hour wait, for a simple alignment - only to then strand me so I couldn't then pick up the car. Now the third visit, I've told them that I have a diagnostic showing the failing master cylinder and suddenly Stapp is unable to pick-up/drop-off because I am outside of their service area by 2-miles. In speaking with the head of the service department - Miranda - she made it obvious that the change in the customer transport policy was because they really didn't want to honor the warranty and don't really want me as a customer. All I can say, is that while Stapp may have some good prices on new cars, take those cars elsewhere for service. Moreover, be wary of Toyota's extended warranties. Flagged Content: Please read my experience with Stapp Toyota before proceeding to bring your car to the Stapp's service center. First, I want to clarify I have no experience with the sales department, this review has nothing to do with them. I don't want to bring up names as none of these is personal. At least I don't want to make it that way. Some contexts: My 2016 Scion TC had the airbag warning light. I researched around and think it could have been a connection issues, since sometime the airbag warning light would go off for a few hours. I decided to use Stapp because my parents live close and can give us a ride. Where it all started: Took a day off and brought the car in for diagnosis. This was in April 2024. The fix is to replace the airbag module with the diagnosis was about $1160. I asked to speak with the technician to give us more details as the RO didn't provide much information on what the problem was. I had my suspicion on the diagnosis as the vehicle had less than 60k miles and it's only 8 years old. I was told the code indicates the airbag igniter had low resistance/impedance, which could mean the airbag was faulty. He was very confident that was the issue and told me he had replaced a lot of them. I bit the bullets and agreed with replacement. When it was done the airbag warning light stopped staying on, however, I did notice that every time I start the car it will flash for a few seconds. This has never been an issue when the car was normal. Fast forward to July 2024: The light comes on and off for a few days, and I waited a few more days for it to stay constantly on because I worried if it doesn't stay on, the dealership investigates the matter seriously. (Funny this was later being used by the customer care manager to blame me for not bringing back the car to the dealership sooner). I called and made an appointment to re-diagnose with a different technician, since that's the quickest turnaround. Brought the car in and was told that it was a connection issue and that maybe the first technician didn't plug the pin in correctly. We decided to go back to the dealership to ask for clarification and felt something was off. As this could have been the issue all along and the airbag module may NOT have been the issue all along. We talked with the service advisor to express our concerns and was told that she would ask the technician if they even checked the wire connection in the first place. NO phone calls. Again, the airbag warning light will flash for a few seconds before going off. September 2024: The light comes on again and stays on. Tried to reach the service manager to elevate the issue, left a voicemail, and never heard back. Fine, brought it back again. They did their thing, but this time, I received an estimate of $$1783 related to wire issues including another $187 diagnose fee. Meaning a wiring issue just decided to fail 3 months after the airbag module failure, while never been on the initial diagnosis. Oh yeah, like he is going to admit that he screwed up. Anyway, we talked to the service care manager in person, and she insisted that she repeated that she needed to talk with the technician to figure out if the 2 diagnoses are for different parts before giving us a resolution. This is the best part, the service care manager stormed out of her office after we were trying to drive off with my car and repeated the same exact thing, and word to words, that these diagnoses are for 2 different parts, and she will need to talk with the technician to give us an answer. She said that with the aggression that I have never seen from any rational customer care person. Sure, for something he attempted to fixed 6 months ago. She then asked when the problem came back, I said July. She goes we should have brought the car back in earlier, then started talking to some non-sense and successfully riled us up. Wednesday, 9/25/2024. I received a call from THE customer care manager simply repeats that these are for different parts, so I told her OKAY thank you and hung up. Filing a dispute. read more

I purchased an oil change plan from them and every time I used the plan they tried to up sell me something. Every time they took much longer to provide the service than what is expected. Once they took three hours to do an oil change. They also sold me a brake diagnostic review for approximately $150. Long story short, another shop changed the oil on my Toyota and but could not remove the oil filter cap. They claimed that the cap was torqued on way too tight by the previous shop that changed the oil. Since Stapp was the previous shop, I called and spoke with Lupita in the service department. I explained what happened and she graciously scheduled me the very next day to address the issue. Lupita was clearly concerned and told me they would remove the oil filter cap and replace the filter, and would do so as quickly as possible. Within an hour they were done and Lupita did not charge me a penny, even though she had to replace the cap as well. I want to thank Lupita and Stapp Interstate Toyota for exceeding my expectations, and showing such great customer service and professionalism. Thank you! read more

I would not recommend taking your vehicle for service at Stapp Toyota. My last visit with them did it for me. 2 hours after my scheduled time they told me that they have not yet start on my car. There was no apology from them and told me it would be another hour before my car would be done. I arrived on time by the way. My 45 min appointment turned into 3 1/2 hours. Like I said there was no apology, no attempt to speed things up. No attempt to make things right. I have never felt welcome there and they come across as rude every time i brought my car in. It is like I have inconvenience them. They also miss service items that are needed. My business is going else where. read more

Dropped my vehicle off the night before for 7 AM service. Called the morning of at 8:30 AM to check on status and they told me it should be ready shortly. Arrived at about 9:15 AM, and they were just pulling into the garage. Can't speak to the quality of the service because they are so unreliable. If zero stars were an option, that would be the rating I'd give them. UPDATE: to 3 stars: took my truck back the next day and they got it in and out quickly. SHAME ON BRION STAPP, ART STAPP, CLINT STAPP, and ROBERT STAPP! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. *PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!* I am based in Texas and specifically called Toyota dealerships in Colorado to ask about a high demand vehicle that was hardly being allocated to my state. I have family in the Denver area, so I figured that it would be easier to fly there to handle paperwork if the dealership could find me a vehicle that I was after. I started my communication out by specifically asking if this Stapp Toyota sold to out of state buyers and after explaining which vehicle I was after, I was told to submit my driver's license information + a $1,000 deposit (which they charged my credit card for) ALMOST 9-10 MONTHS AGO. After getting updates every 2 weeks from my sales consultant (Whitney Wolfe) for a solid 9 months, I get a phone call from Ron Fifer (Executive Sales Manager - New Vehicles) that it is their policy to not sell this particular vehicle to out of state buyers as they don't get allocated very many. Now I understand the dealership wanting to keep this vehicle for their own market/area, but WHY wasn't this communicated to me when I initially gave up my personal information and put down a deposit 9 months ago? Also, why wasn't I told this during the course of the 9 months that I waited?? There are currently 25+ people at this dealership in either operational/sales management or sales staff roles, and when hardly any new vehicles are being allocated to this dealership by Toyota corporate (due to the chip crisis), why isn't anybody looking over the list of the buyers that have been waiting more than half a year for a vehicle to come in for them? What have the folks at this dealership been doing this entire time? Put at least one person on that duty to review buyers!! I was then informed that since I've been waiting for so long, they would discuss my particular case with upper management (Brion Stapp, Art Sapp, Clint Stapp, and Robert Stapp) to see if they can make an exemption. Well come to find out, these owners/management staff don't care that I've been waiting for so long and gave up a large chunk of money (and time) to their dealership for 9 months. They no longer wanted to consider me as a potential buyer/customer and simply wanted to return the deposit that I made. During this long wait period, I could have used this money for SO many other things in life or simply invested it, where I could have made a higher return rather than simply to have my money returned while we undergo record high inflation (meaning it no longer holds the same value). Shame on this leadership team and shame on their lack of operations. Stapp Interstate Toyota - Car Dealers Near Me - Frederick, Colorado

Service department leaves much to be desired. TL:DR: They gave the car a thumbs up on everything being ok fduring an oil change a few of months ago and then today, claimed it needed thousands of dollars of repairs. The story: June 4th, 2020, I brought my 1999 Toyota Landcruiser in for an oil change and overall checkup for anything that might be wrong. They told me everything was in pretty good shape. A few things were 'yellow (they rate things green yellow, red), but nothing needing attention until maybe next year and fine for now'. In late July, the check engine light came on and the engine started running rough. A couple of days later I injured my leg and went into surgery and the car sat until Sept. 2nd. It got about 30 days of use (I have 2 cars) and couple of hundred miles put on it during that time. When I had it taken back to Stapp to have a new key made and programmed and to have the check engine light and rough running engine checked out. They found the issue (a $250 repair), but also found 4 other escalating in cost issues (one that was $1300 alone) that were not found 60 days prior adding up to almost $4000 in repairs. a month of actual use and a couple of hundred miles does not cause $4000 in repairs. None of these were essential, but the upsell was evident. When I asked Josh, the service rep, why it checked out fine only a few months previous, he, basically, went silent. Then asked, 'so, what do you want to do?". I told him fix the one thing I brought it in for and make the key. My dad has bought cars from this dealer since for my entire life. He's been a Toyota guy his entire life. I thought Stapp was different than the other rip you off garages and car dealer service depts. I think I'm going to be taking this to another garage and have them check to see if they find the same problems. Its not looking very good though. I'll update this with a better rating if they find the same problems and give me similar quotes to fix it. read more
