We purchased a 2007 Toyota minivan from Burgio Motors, and our salesperson, Glenn, was very…read moreaccommodating throughout the initial purchase. We sat down, discussed the vehicle, and I also completed the financing through the dealership without any problems. Glenn explained some of the work that had been done to the van, and overall the buying process started out very well.
However, my wife and I specifically asked whether everything on the van worked properly, and we were clearly told that it did. I test drove the van, and during the test drive everything I checked seemed to work, including the radio and air conditioning.
Unfortunately, after purchasing the vehicle, we discovered that was not entirely the case.
The online listing stated that the van had power sliding doors, but there was nothing in the listing indicating that one of those power doors did not work. I believe something like that should have been disclosed before the sale, especially after we specifically asked whether everything worked.
Shortly after leaving the dealership, the ABS and VSC warning lights came on. I called Glenn immediately, and he told me they would take care of it. There was also a low tire warning light showing. Glenn mentioned that the tire had been filled, so it appeared the issue might have been a sensor. Again, this was something I would have appreciated knowing before completing the purchase.
After getting the van home, I initially thought there might also be a leak. I later realized that was not the case, but I still brought the van back that day to the dealership and spoke with Ray. At that time, I asked if they could address the power door, check the tire warning light, tell me where the spare tire was located, and change the oil. I made it clear that I was willing to pay for the oil change. I was told, "No problem, we will take care of it."
Today, Monday, I received a call and was told they were not responsible for fixing the power door. The tire warning light was still on, the oil had not been changed, and nothing was mentioned about the location of the spare tire. And Glenn said it has already left the lot sold.
My disappointment is really about communication and following through on what was promised. If a dealership tells a customer they are going to take care of something, especially immediately after the sale, I believe they should do their best to follow through.
These were relatively simple issues that could have completely changed my experience. Disclosing that one power door did not operate, addressing the tire warning light, and simply answering my question about the spare tire would have gone a long way.
I would have gladly left a much higher rating and considered Burgio Motors again in the future if these concerns had been handled as promised. Unfortunately, because they were not, I feel this rating accurately reflects my true overall experience
