So I came into this store this morning to rent a simple $7 a day utility dolly for my move. The person who was apparently able to this to me was not there and the man who was was extraordinarily rude and completely unhelpful. There was one other customer waiting to rent something and when the man asked us what we were there for he said "That's not my job, I only work here." If you work there why are you incapable of renting me a simple dolly? When the woman who's job it was to do these things finally rolled into work 20 minutes late she brought in her giant dog, it immediately started coming up to me and the other customer. When she finally took away her dog and ushered me into her nook she tried to photocopy my credit card! That's not ok! Basically these people are rude, unprofessional, late and possible credit card thrives. After this experience with a simple rental there is no chance I would ever consider them for any auto repair needs and you shouldn't either. read more

Just moved from Atlanta and needed an oil change. I searched "Boulder mechanics" and called a few places. I pass Baseline Auto on my way to work everyday and was very happy with the customer service I received over the phone when I was calling and pricing various places. I don't have a fancy car, but I am picky about who takes care of it and LOVED my mechanics back home. I was able to schedule my service for the next day luckily and was given a price before the work was started to make sure I was okay with it. Waiting room is comfortable, staff is friendly, complimentary coffee and bottled water. I'm a fan of Baseline Auto. read more

Had a hitch installed on my Kia Optima Hybrid here. They were a bit more expensive than uhual, but the service was excellent. They answered the phones quickly (instead of rolling to a call center elsewhere) and were very knowledgeable about the products. I was worried about clearance, and they agreed to order a hitch and allow me to measure it before paying. It worked fine. Their installation area was large and clean, and they were clear and delivered as promised. Installation was faster than I expected (around 30min I think), and completed while I waited. They also helped me install an adapter to convert the 1 1/4 inch hitch to the 2 inch size of my bike rack. I was very happy, and felt the higher cost was worth it. read more

I can not speak to the service center side however if you are buying a used car here think twice! Also if you are interested in the Dodge Ram 1500 Eco Diesel that they currently have in inventory for 22,999 talk them down, they only paid 18,100 for it. They are dishonest and below are the reasons for not going to them at all: 1. Dave had all day to tell us that they had taken $764 dollars off the truck trade in and $493 dollars off the c-max trade in. Instead, they slid it in at the very end of the day in paperwork only when they knew we are in a rush and did not speak to us about it at all. We fixed the truck that day spending $575 trusting they would honor the trade in amount they said yes to. We got a line about how each car had that amount in fixes. However, when I just went on the website they fixed nothing on either car and the priced them still to not reflect the "damage" that cost us almost $800 in trade in value. 2. On the truck alone they are set to make 5 grand but needed to screw us out of $764 for fixing nothing. I am beyond disappointed and feel taken advantage of. At least the big dealers would have been honest about what they were going to give us for each car without sneaking in at the end. What you did was way worse. A very disgusted former client. Reasonably priced with quick, efficient service. I had a hitch ordered and put on my vehicle. Highly recommended.

I love being able to write great reviews for business that do an excellent job with customer service. I think it's a rare find. I called Baseline this morning to see about getting a trailer hitch installed on my Rav-4. Not only was the phone answered in a very respectable way, but they were extremely timely about getting back to me with an estimate. It only took about 15m for them to call me back. The cost of the hitch was 1/3 of what the dealership was quoting me and it was evident by the way the process was being explained and recommended to me that Baseline is very knowledgable. They even made sure to ask what I was towing to see if lighting/wiring needed to be included in the estimate. We chatted a bit about what I needed the hitch for and when I mentioned it was for pulling a u-Haul trailer across the country, they also told me that they could assist in getting a u-Haul reserved because they were an authorized dealer. That was music to my ears, having all of that taken care of in 1 phone call! I scheduled my installation for next week and while I haven't had the actual installation done yet, I have high hopes that it will be as excellent as my initial experience. Thanks Baseline Auto! You made my day a little easier! :) read more

Boulder Auto Service and Repair Auto repair shop PLACE DETAILS David Sterling just now Asked them to install a hitch on my car for a bike rack and they said they could do it, but they'd have to purchase hitch and I'd have to pay for it up front. No problem -- figured they wanted to make sure the hitch would fit my vehicle and there were wouldn't be any missing parts. Both Curt and DrawTite hitches were available at etrailer.com and the owner assured me that were basically identical. Given that I didn't express a preference for which they ordered as they were basically the same price. While the two hitches are the same from an installer's perspective, it turns out they are *not* identical from a user's perspective since the receiver is located at a different position relative to the rear bumper. I checked the specs on etrailer.com for the one they ordered and it clearly would *not* work with my bike rack. I called to discuss and when looked at the exact same images on etrailer.com (which also show the distance from the hitch to the bumper) the owner claimed that as far as she could see these two hitches were the same. I pointed out that based on the installer videos the Curt hitch receiver is recessed 2" behind the bumper whereas the DrawTite hitch receiver is 6" from the bumper. She insisted that "to her eye", looking at pictures of the installed hitches there wasn't really much difference. My first gripe is that when viewing the same images at the same time (while on the phone together) the owner tried to convince me that there wasn't a difference between a receiver that was 6" versus 2" from the rear bumper. Maybe for some folks this 4" discrepancy wouldn't matter -- it does to me because my rack would only work in the 2" case. When I explained this, the owner was unwilling to send the hitch back and order the correct one for my application. I even offered to pay the return shipping (since it was my fault for not clarifying which of the two hitches I needed installed) or to share the cost in some other way if the hitch didn't work out, but she brushed that off and kept trying to convince me that the hitch she ordered (and I'd already paid for) would work. Ignoring the dimensions shown on the images in the installer videos at etrailer.com, she explained that installed "hundreds" of these hitches on my vehicle and in her experience customers were really pleased with the "clean installation" and the way this particular hitch looked when installed. By this time I was pretty sure they had ordered the wrong hitch so since I'd already paid for it I decided to bring it home and do some more careful measurements using my rack before paying to have it installed. I went back to etrailer.com to look at the installation video (so I could see where the hitch should be installed) and realized that Boulder Auto had charged me a total of $185 for the *exact* same hitch that I could have ordered myself for $117 (including shipping). Recalling our initial conversation (where the owner explained that they would only install a hitch that I paid in advance for them to order), it was clear the, "we have to order the parts on your dime paid in advance" was simply a scam to rip customer's off. Between the extra $70 they charged me for my hitch and the owner's insistence that despite the 4" difference in receiver location the hitch would still work I decided to take my business elsewhere. Maybe this shop is more competent with other automotive repairs, but given the mix of outright BS from the owner and their inflated parts cost scam I wouldn't go near this shop again read more

I hate to write negatives reviews. Unfortunately I've experienced a trend I cannot over look. I been to Boulder Auto several times and each time I've experienced the same thing. First I love supporting small woman owned businesses especially in nontraditional woman industries. However, this is a business I cannot support further as the owner lacks fundamental customer service. She is harsh, abrasive, and lacks empathy. There is no can-do attitude or customer accommodation. I've only rented uhauls here so I cannot attest to their auto service capabilities. I can only think she has so much business she doesn't need to be customer oriented. I am glad for her if this is the case. Unfortunately due to the owners lack of customer-centricity, I will not give them anymore business. UPDATE: it is sad that the owner, Sarah, can not take polite constructive criticism from a repeat customer who has decided enough is enough. Yes, I was a customer of Boulder Auto. They provide a service of renting Uhauls which we have used on several occasions. Each time we have been met with the same absent customer service. My criticism starts from the way we have been treated when we walk into the door all the way through to the follow up experience. That ENTIRE experience was met each time with zero customer service. Actually, customer service is asking too much, a friendly greeting and smile would have been at minimum, nice. This is a direct reflection of Boulder Auto not Uhaul. This review is based on the total sum of my family's experiences over the course of a year. Sarah needs to become a mindful businesswoman and accommodate feedback from the people who patronize her establishment AND pay her bills. Instead she chooses to attack constructive reviewers (btw Sarah I don't need "followers" to use the Yelp app to inform my patronage decisions) who politely left her establishment and personally vowed to not return. By the way, out of the blue, my husband received a call from Uhaul apologizing for the experience and stating they have fielded several complains about people's experiences at Boulder Auto as well. read more

They sure know their way around cars. Overall had a good experience there taking my old chevy to get worked on. Guys really knew their way around cars, really surprised at this day and age. The next generation doesn't seem to know how to change a flat tire! But Boulder Auto really has a young, knowledgeable staff. It was a little pricey. But I was satisfied with the work. read more

I rented a Uhaul van from this location listed as "Baseline Rentals" under the U-haul website. We did everything online and called the next day to see if the van would be available earlier than our scheduled pick-up time. The man that helped us, Rick, was very friendly and accommodating. When we called he wasn't sure, but even called us back just to let us know the van would be available an hour earlier. Since it was a Saturday and our return time was for after they closed, they allowed us to keep it for 24 hours at no extra cost. I found the service to be very good and customer friendly. I would rent with Baseline again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my Audi in for emergency service. Was told the radiator needed to be replaced. The next day I was told the water pump as well must be replaced, I said fine and the did the work. I asked multiple times for a quote of my timing belt and was given an off the cuff "Ohhh well $1500" when I told the woman that I had been quoted $800 she just seemed to shrug her shoulders and never provided me with any real quote. My car broke down two days later and was towed again. It turns out that the timing belt was put on incorrectly on my car and the water pump was NEVER replaced. If the water pump was "replaced" it was an older and used pump they replaced it with and charged me $200 ($280 originally but I told her that was overpriced to which she replied "well I have to make money") I am being told by Boulder that they never touched my timing belt which would be impossible since my water pump was "replaced" and my timing belt was now incorrectly placed back on, I'm sure it didn't just shift on its own for the first time. When I called to discuss these issues with the owner I was hung up on multiple times and told that I owed her money for the faulty job. Considering how no collection attempts were made I can only assume they noted the fault in their work and were more interested in severing ties with me then working to address the issues. I had to have their ENTIRE job re-done - which included paying for the work again as I used a more reliable mechanic the second time. I would and will NEVER go back and I WILL be updating this post with photos of the water pump and timing belt. UPDATE: To Sarah's note below, who cannot even spell my name correctly though it is listed here, I answered when she called - she only called twice. I told her that her service was being reviewed due to the fact my car stopped working two days later. It did NOT work fine when I picked up my car, however I had already driven 30 miles away. I was NEVER offered anything to have my car brought back in. I have my water pump which was taken out of my car last week and it is the ORIGINAL FACTORY WATER PUMP. It had rust and was years old. Also, if they HAD replaced my water pump they would have HAD to take off my timing belt. I think you can begin to see the level of customer service here. read more

Really excellent place to rent a U-Haul trailer. Good service, and very helpful people, from Sarah the owner, to the mechanic whose name I can't remember who loaned me his own eight-way electrical adapter. read more

I rented a UHaul and ended up with terrible customer service. The insurance I did not want was defaulted on my reservation even though I did not order it. When I went in to pick up the truck and after hearing the pitch to keep it, I said I explicitly did not want it and I signed the waiver. The manager even initialed a handwritten note 'remove' beside the insurance. The charge was put through my credit card when I dropped off the truck. Impossible to get someone at this location or UHaul to remove the charge. Location doesn't answer phone so call gets diverted to call center that pretend they are local receptionists. Call center transfers to customer service... customer service says they can't fix a bill and say to call location where i rented truck. An endless loop designed for UHaul to overcharge me $14. What a business model, huh? read more

Great prices and great service! We recently bought an electric car from Dave and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It was a great experience! read more

Sarah and the staff covered it all for us. We had to have a hitch added to our truck. Some other electrical work was also done. Everything was completed on time and matched the quote we were given. DO NOT GO HERE. SARAH IS RUDE, INCONSIDERATE AND OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sarah was nothing but rude from the moment I made a reservation. It's clear that she does not appreciate your business and could care less about customer satisfaction. After renting a Uhaul, we discovered that we had left pieces of a bed frame in the truck. I immediately called Sarah who rudely told me it was a huge inconvenience for her to go look in the truck to see if the pieces were there (keep in mind the truck was literally 10 feet away from the front of the store). She failed to check the attic of the truck (an elevated shelf in the back) - which is where the pieces were - and called and said that she couldn't find the pieces. When I asked if she had checked the attic she said no and didn't even offer to go take another look. I asked her if she could please go look again and she moaned and groaned about how hard it is for her to go check because she was the only one a the store (again, it was literally 10 feet outside the store). Two hours later she still didn't call so I had to drive all the way from Denver to go look for the pieces myself because the truck was being rented that night. Once I got there, Sarah actually left her desk (she was still the only one there) to come outside and see if I found the pieces...keep in mind that it was supposedly a huge inconvenience for her to leave her desk which is why I had to drive 45 minutes to check for myself! Words cannot express how angry I feel for the poor treatment and utter disrespect for her customers. I can't say I was surprised to see similar reviews by other people who have unfortunately had the same terrible experience that we had. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else where they will actually treat you with respect and value your business. read more

My car was towed here after having problems with my starter. They were very quick to take a look at it and fix the problem. However, they could have been much more transparent with the cost associated with fix. The quote over the phone did not include labor costs so when I got there to pick up my car the bill was nearly twice what I expected. They also indicated that the lower radiator hose was in need of replacement which I declined to fix at that time. Because I'm new to the area, I recently decided to try another auto shop in Boulder to check out a leak from my radiator which I assumed was associated with the lower radiator hose as indicated in the above assessment. After this other shop took a look, they indicated that the lower radiator hose was in no need of replacement and that the problem was else where. It certainly makes me question whether the previous assessment was honest or not. Overall, I would recommend shopping around to different auto shops before going to them. read more

Horrible. I took my car in there to get the A/C fixed and they saw that my catalytic converters were out and called me about it. I said yes I know, but I'm not ready to spend 4K on it to fix a problem that my car doesn't need fixing. She came back and said that the mechanic is sure that it's just my O2 sensors that are broken and would be a much cheaper fix(still a lot of money) So I said sure but only if you are sure this will fix it and turn the lights off my dash. Long story short it didn't fix anything and I still have a check engine light on in my car. When asked about it she didn't take any responsibility and no apologies either. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Outstanding experience with this Boulder business. My review is unsolicited and as unbiased as any review should be. My son attends CU. he also works in a local bicycle shop and has little time; so, I offered to find a place to install his class 1 hitch for his bike rack. Found several places. Read reviews. Many places were not recommended. There were even some poor reviews from this establishment. When I called to schedule an appointment I spoke with Sarah. She was efficient and scheduled a time that was the soonest available. She told me how much it would be. She told me how long it would take. Each aspect of the transaction was exactly as she stated. When I picked up the car (Honda Civic), Sarah was there. As it turns out, she is the owner. Again, she was prompt, friendly, and very helpful. All costs were as she quoted. The business was clean. It is conveniently located (I rode my bike there on Boulder Creek trail then veered off at Valmont toward Arapahoe). I will definitely make this business my primary hitch installation and service site. Honest. Timely. Good value for service cost. Great experience and I recommend them. read more

DO NOT GO HERE They did an oil change on my 2005 American Made car and charged my $65 and didn't bother to call to let me know it would be that much. I have been a customer here for around 3 years and have brought three different vehicles in for repair work. I have only had excellent experiences here. Sarah, the owner, has always gotten me in immediately if my vehicle was acting up. Prompt servicing shows me that they value customer service. The mechanics are phenomenal as well. They are very honest and they complete jobs quickly. I have never had any issues after having my vehicle serviced here, which cannot be said for past experiences with other auto repair establishments in the area. The mechanics have even put up with me asking questions and have walked me through the work they have done. I only trust my vehicle with Boulder Auto Service and Repair and will continue to bring my vehicles here. I highly recommend this shop! read more

Sarah, the present owner of Baseline, will lie to you right out the gate. The quote on the yelp page of her claiming "I like to provide my customers with an honest assessment of their repair needs" is a joke. She's deceptive and dishonest. My fuel pump broke and I called Baseline. I know cars quite well (I know how much a fuel pump costs - which is 150-200) so when she quoted me $482 just for the pump my jaw dropped. I mean, I understand a reasonable markup, but a mark up of over 300% is ridiculous. The worse part is, her parts supplier, NAPA, sold the exact same part for $262. So I told her I would buy my own. I got one for $154 from a local parts supplier in Boulder. She was very pissed off that I was smart enough to get my own parts so she refused to drop the $55 "Diagnostic Test" which is bullshit since I knew it was a fuel pump. Then she told me the job would be 2.7 hours at $105/hour which is way longer than a fuel pump replacement job takes. These things take at most 1.5 hours for any reasonable shop to do. DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!! read more
