I dropped my car off after hours at FTAR after being lucky enough to break down right next to it. They squeezed me in the next morning in spite of being booked out for weeks, fixed my car, and had it back to me next business day. Apparently Valvoline had over-tightened my oil filter and it had cracked. FTAR replaced the filter and topped off my almost-empty oil for less than $100. The woman who I spoke with on the phone was kind, informative, and helped me while keeping my budget in mind. I had called a few other places to get the basic maintenance checks done on my vehicle-they all quoted me more and tried adding extra charges. Not factory trained auto-they inspected my car-checked everything and made suggestions for further maintenance. My car is running beautifully and thanks to their suggestion to replace the break pads (which I did myself) I saved myself money and potential damage to the rotors. When my car craps out, my world seizes up. Luckily I got a bead on FTAR when a friend's car crapped out. Had to get it towed there so my sphincter was already on a Roman holiday and I was prepared to go car shopping. These guys have factory trained Ford expertise but like John S. said, they know their German cars also. They walked me thru what needed to be done and it didn't sound like Farsi to me so I told them to go ahead. Yah, it wasn't cheap but I didn't feel gouged either. Let's just say that they made it as pleasant as a colonoscopy. You don't see (your car) for a while, and when the fog clears, you get a bill, pay it and go home. I did have to take it back in for a quick fix - the heater stopped working - but they had it in and out in nano time, no charge, explained why the heater stopped working, again in plain talk. I trust them. How often can you say that about auto repair. Good guys. read more

I had a bad experience with these guys. I had my rack and pinion changed out. They quoted me $700 for the parts, so I bought them on my own for $250. Brand new with lifetime warranty. Talk about over charging for parts. I was quoted $300 for the install labor, but after my car got in the shop they called me and quoted me an extra $130 for the same job they originally quoted me for. Nothing new came up, they just said "it was harder then they expected". Don't you think as a repair shop you'd know the difficulty of a standard job? After my car got back from the shop there was a noise coming from the front end. I took it back the next day and they told me that it was coming from the rear and they would not warranty the repair work since I bought my own parts. It was clearly not coming from the back end, and never made this noise before going into the shop. It was a "coincidence" as they put it. After doing further inspection and having a mechanic friend check it out, I found the sound was coming from the front wheel well and when making a turn the tire is rubbing. Never happened before going in the shop! They wont honor their work and fix it because I bought my own part even though this is obviously a labor issue on their end. Safe to say I wont be going back. I'd recommend finding somewhere else to go because this shop shop won't stand behind their work, honor their quotes, and will overcharge you on parts. read more

I don't usually write reviews but it's rare to find people who are reasonable in prices, do quality work, and treat you like you're their most important customer. Afterall, garages are a dime a dozen in this area, I can count 5 other places within the mile radius. I went to these guys for brakes service and the Jeep dealership quoted me at $400 for my front Grand Cherokee. The guys did it for $200 and it was done in the same day. Everything works as expected. I thought my AC had issues and needed a recharge, they charged it but by the time I got the car it was like before, not cold, turns out my AC compressor was broken, guys didn't charge me for the AC work. Real standup move on their part. Very helpful, friendly, and most importantly professional. I took my car in because of it overheating they told me it was a blown head-gasket and wanted over $3k to fix it. Took it somewhere else it was just a bad water pump. Would have loved to give this shop a better review, but our 11am appointment was given away because we didn't drop the car off at 9am. We were not informed, when we made the appointment, that we needed to drop the car off two hours early. We were not called throughout the week between when we scheduled the appointment in-person last Monday, August 15, and today when we arrived at 10:40am for our 11 am appointment that we needed to arrive at 9 am or drop the car off 2 hours before our scheduled appointment time. I, literally, cannot think of ANY place of business where you schedule an appointment but you are actually required to arrive two hours BEFORE your scheduled appointment. What's the point of scheduling an 11am appontment anyway? The person my roommate dealt with was unsympathetic and had the gall to ask if we wanted to reschedule! No thanks, we'll take our vehicle and our over $200 worth of maintenance and repairs elsewhere, where appointment times actually mean something. read more

This review is a bit overdue - but given how hard it is to find a great mechanic, I felt compelled to give these guys the credit they deserve. I am a former Volvo / Porsche Technician and am very selective in finding the right shop to work on my car / truck. I was driving my 2003 E350 Powerstroke from California to Wisconsin, and needed to get my up-pipes and aux. battery replaced. Chris was super helpful over the phone, gave me a few options for the up-pipes, and fit me in last minute so that my trip wasn't delayed. Then on top of all that, he got my van ready a day early, and well under the budget that we discussed. One of the best shops that I have used. Went in with squeaky brakes was not sure if we needed to replace the brake pads. Brakes are always a sketchy situation with most auto repair shops but not these guys! They were great! They checked them out, cleaned them up and reported that they would still be good for at least another 10k miles. Came to Denver from Texas for a fiddle contest & ended up getting stuck in the hotel parking lot in single digit weather. My 7.3 l 2000 F350 was not liking the cold weather. In the process of trying to get it started (after leaving it plugged in all night) the batteries wore down. Since it was the weekend & there was fresh snow all around (& it continued to snow until early in the week), I couldn't find any qualified diesel mechanics to work on my truck. I knew it was the glow plugs, so I started looking online for help. Saw 100% reviews for Factory Trained Auto Repair & I was hooked. Called, left message, said they'd be in @ 7:00 AM Monday morning. One of the 1st calls I made on Monday was to FTAR--a few minutes before 7 AM, Chris answered the phone. I explained my situation & he had a tow truck out to me within the hour (even though there were multiple accidents b/c of the snow & it being Monday AM traffic). By 10:00 he'd diagnosed the problem (relay switch to the glow plugs) & called me with the estimate. After sending me on my way to ski via a rental car, he called again later to let me know that my seals on my 4 wheel drive needed repacking & some needed to be replaced. Being that I was in snow, from Texas, and needed to drive back home, I gave him the go-ahead to fix the seals. Not only was he efficient, but also fair. Although the repair was expensive (considering I hadn't intended to repair while on vacation), his prices were extremely fair & reasonable and his turn around time was amazing--I was in & out in one day. Chris even cleaned up all of the dirty snow & ice from my old truck! If I lived in Colorado, he'd be the person I'd always send my truck to! Thanks for all, Factory Trained, Chris! read more
