Dropped my vehicle off the night before for 7 AM service. Called the morning of at 8:30 AM to check on status and they told me it should be ready shortly. Arrived at about 9:15 AM, and they were just pulling into the garage. Can't speak to the quality of the service because they are so unreliable. If zero stars were an option, that would be the rating I'd give them. UPDATE: to 3 stars: took my truck back the next day and they got it in and out quickly. Service was decent, but they are not the most detail-oriented operation (so do a quick check before you leave). read more

SHAME ON BRION STAPP, ART STAPP, CLINT STAPP, and ROBERT STAPP! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. *PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!* I am based in Texas and specifically called Toyota dealerships in Colorado to ask about a high demand vehicle that was hardly being allocated to my state. I have family in the Denver area, so I figured that it would be easier to fly there to handle paperwork if the dealership could find me a vehicle that I was after. I started my communication out by specifically asking if this Stapp Toyota sold to out of state buyers and after explaining which vehicle I was after, I was told to submit my driver's license information + a $1,000 deposit (which they charged my credit card for) ALMOST 9-10 MONTHS AGO. After getting updates every 2 weeks from my sales consultant (Whitney Wolfe) for a solid 9 months, I get a phone call from Ron Fifer (Executive Sales Manager - New Vehicles) that it is their policy to not sell this particular vehicle to out of state buyers as they don't get allocated very many. Now I understand the dealership wanting to keep this vehicle for their own market/area, but WHY wasn't this communicated to me when I initially gave up my personal information and put down a deposit 9 months ago? Also, why wasn't I told this during the course of the 9 months that I waited?? There are currently 25+ people at this dealership in either operational/sales management or sales staff roles, and when hardly any new vehicles are being allocated to this dealership by Toyota corporate (due to the chip crisis), why isn't anybody looking over the list of the buyers that have been waiting more than half a year for a vehicle to come in for them? What have the folks at this dealership been doing this entire time? Put at least one person on that duty to review buyers!! I was then informed that since I've been waiting for so long, they would discuss my particular case with upper management (Brion Stapp, Art Sapp, Clint Stapp, and Robert Stapp) to see if they can make an exemption. Well come to find out, these owners/management staff don't care that I've been waiting for so long and gave up a large chunk of money (and time) to their dealership for 9 months. They no longer wanted to consider me as a potential buyer/customer and simply wanted to return the deposit that I made. During this long wait period, I could have used this money for SO many other things in life or simply invested it, where I could have made a higher return rather than simply to have my money returned while we undergo record high inflation (meaning it no longer holds the same value). Shame on this leadership team and shame on their lack of operations. I hope they hold a dealership wide meeting and LEARN from this mistake as this negative review is a reflection of their lack of oversight on their processes. read more

Stapp Interstate Toyota - Car Dealers Near Me - Frederick, Colorado

Service department leaves much to be desired. TL:DR: They gave the car a thumbs up on everything being ok fduring an oil change a few of months ago and then today, claimed it needed thousands of dollars of repairs. The story: June 4th, 2020, I brought my 1999 Toyota Landcruiser in for an oil change and overall checkup for anything that might be wrong. They told me everything was in pretty good shape. A few things were 'yellow (they rate things green yellow, red), but nothing needing attention until maybe next year and fine for now'. In late July, the check engine light came on and the engine started running rough. A couple of days later I injured my leg and went into surgery and the car sat until Sept. 2nd. It got about 30 days of use (I have 2 cars) and couple of hundred miles put on it during that time. When I had it taken back to Stapp to have a new key made and programmed and to have the check engine light and rough running engine checked out. They found the issue (a $250 repair), but also found 4 other escalating in cost issues (one that was $1300 alone) that were not found 60 days prior adding up to almost $4000 in repairs. a month of actual use and a couple of hundred miles does not cause $4000 in repairs. None of these were essential, but the upsell was evident. When I asked Josh, the service rep, why it checked out fine only a few months previous, he, basically, went silent. Then asked, 'so, what do you want to do?". I told him fix the one thing I brought it in for and make the key. My dad has bought cars from this dealer since for my entire life. He's been a Toyota guy his entire life. I thought Stapp was different than the other rip you off garages and car dealer service depts. I think I'm going to be taking this to another garage and have them check to see if they find the same problems. Its not looking very good though. I'll update this with a better rating if they find the same problems and give me similar quotes to fix it. read more

Cory I. in Sales dept is outstanding! He is the man to make things happen, he is a legit advocate and cares about the customer. He's been in the business for ahwile, and is transparent and goes out of his way to help a customer. Basically, I bought a Rav4 from out-of-state even though I ordered it while still living in CO, he helped me when he had no obligation whatsoever, was transparent about my Bill of Sale, and that says a lot about the culture of a great dealership. Highly recommended. Go to Cory! read more

I found a 4Runner on their website, and they cleaned it and made it appealing. Beyond the test drive my experience was disappointing and has left a continuing feeling that I was taken advantage of. Don't be fooled, they are just like any car dealership and their priority is their profit margin and not your experience. I left paying more than the website price, after HOURS in their showroom while multiple sales people stopped in and out of the office, creating a very confusing atmosphere, just as they intended I'm sure. They claimed my credit score was lower than it was or has been since, by almost 50 points. This allowed them to claim the only way I could finance it was to pay for a 5 year full service plan through Toyota. GET YOUR FINANCING SET UP BEFORE GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP. DON'T LET THEM TELL YOU WHAT YOU ARE "REQUIRED" TO ADD ON. IT'S ALL A SHAM. Having left after that experience, and feeling like the people at this dealership aren't above shady deals, it has been difficult to trust the 4Runner they sold me, and I just expect that they required the service plan because they know I have a lemon. That totally robbed me of the joy of a new car. I should have walked away as soon as the deal changed. read more

Do not go here unless you like getting ripped off. Took my truck here with a locking caliper. They diagnosed it said sorry for yah and refused to repair it. And they ripped me off for 175.00 dollars. As I waited for them to find my key because they had lost it a woman in line behind me said they had done the exact same thing to her and after she picked up her vehicle she would never be going back there. I totally understand this place is no good and you are better off going anywhere else. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! I called and spoke with a woman in sales asking about a specific 4runner and was rushed off of the phone. I had an appointment for my 2017 tacoma. Kiley Zamudio was my service advisor, she didnt even take the time to look at me. She only asked a few questions, and that was it. My tacoma was in for a bad torque converter, which was covered by an extended warranty. They tried to charge me over $500 for a break job and also Issue: 90, 000 MILE SERVICE, which I had completed at 91k miles ( I have 113k ) on my tacoma and they wanted to charge me $1774.50 for the 90k mile service that I already had done. They didn't even test drive it over 0.3 miles and said I my torque converter was fine. read more

About 10 months ago, I purchased a second vehicle from Stapp. At that time, I bought lost fob insurance as I did for the first vehicle. I called to make an appointment. The fobs were ordered and an appointment was set. Previously, this procedure only took 15 minutes to reprogram the new fob and it was not done via service. I arrived at my scheduled time believing the process would only take about 15 minutes as it did previously and as I was led to believe during my phone conversations. This time however, I was routed through service. When I dropped off the functioning fob the service writer asked if I was waiting for the car. I needed some clarification. When I asked for clarification I was told it would take over an hour which exceeded my scheduled time. And of course, because of the hour, I was not able to find an appropriate manager. I am not sure if I was intentionally misled or if the business changed its practice. Either way, the level of service and communication has gotten significantly worse over time. This is the third very negative encounter with the Stapp service department. I will endeavor to pursue this further with the appropriate manager but for now, buyers beware. read more

My previous rating holds true ONLY as my experience pertains to the purchase of my vehicle. I returned to Stapp for my regular maintenance and was continually disappointed with the lack of promptness and communication. The last straw, however, was my last service when I returned to my vehicle and noted that a small plastic cover was missing on my shift console. I inquired about the missing part and the service rep said he would check with the employees in the shop to see if they'd removed the piece. He returned and said that they hadn't. I told him the piece definitely was not missing when I dropped my vehicle off for service at which point he offered to get the service manager. Mike Schultz then graced me with his presence. He insisted that his employees did not remove or break the part. I rebutted and told him I was certain the part was not missing when I dropped my vehicle off. He told me I was welcome to order the part and return to have it installed. I told him I was neither interested in paying for the part nor returning to Stapp for any reason in the future. After a few minutes of back and forth, no apology or acknowledgement of my frustration and a number of condescending remarks, he begrudgingly "offered" to order the part to me and have it shipped if I would agree to return for services. I told him I would consider it. He said he would order the part and have it shipped to me. Weeks later I had not received the part and called to inquire and was told there was no order pending. I left a voicemail voicing my frustration and proceeded to look up the part online. The part was $2.44. I ordered the part online and Stapp shipped a part i received a few days later-I threw it in the trash. I think it's telling that the service manager was more interested in saving $2.44 than working with a customer to remedy an issue with his service department. One of the poorest representations of customer service I've experienced. Unfortunate considering my vehicle purchase was fantastic. Mr. Schultz does a huge disservice to this dealership. read more

I bought a new Camry from this dealership a month ago, when I got home the tire went low in a few days, took it to discount tire to review tire and there was a plug in the tire and was non repairable. Spoke to customer service at Stapp Interstate and the service manager Ryan admitted that the car I purchased tire had a plug however at the time of purchase the tire held the correct pressure. They indicated they wouldn't consider replacing the tire for me and pretty much said sorry for your bad luck and apologized. Remember you have choices on buying, this dealership is showing they do not stand by there product or customers. Pass on this dealership. read more

Dropped my truck off at 1030a for a transmission fluid drain and refill. Was told it would take about 1.5 hours. Came back around 100p, was told that it would be another 30-40 mins because the tech wasn't finished. Went into town for about 35 mins, called to make sure it would be done before we returned. We were told then that the tech hadn't even started working on it yet. Asked them to pull my truck around front for me to pickup immediately. My husband went in to speak to the service manager and he got loud and lied right to him about how the service needed to be done. *DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE SCAMMERS* Sales rep was nice enough when looking at 4Runners. In fact I liked her enough that I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. So one star for a decent, likeable rep who found the 4 Runner i wanted However, the lease numbers they came back with were a complete scam. Base model SR5 4Runner for $38,165 before incentives somehow translates to a lease $5000 down and $671/mo payment. WTF?!?!!? Residual was $25,164, so residual over 36 mos (13k minus $5k down) of $8k is $222 per mo. The money factor and tax cant be over $400/mo alone. Another dealer just quoted me $389/mo for the same model and just $2k down. This is so insulting and a complete waste of my time. So, never, ever, ever visit this dealer. --Rebuttal to Brion Stapp's response below-- Let me start by letting you all know that I am a numbers guy. I have been doing analytics for almost 15-yrs. I know a rotten deal when I see one. Brion Stapp clearly lays out the factors for a lease deal. Yes there are lots of them. I don't argue they make this whole thing so complex, only they can understand it. For this next part, let's quote my Stapp: "However, the vehicle you asked us to run numbers on was a 2019 Toyota 4Runner and therefore does not have any incentives from the manufacture which will result in a dramatically higher monthly payment." He then goes on to say that Toyota offers a deal on 2018 4Runners, 3299 down, $349/mo on approved credit. That sounds great. He even says they give me this deal. However, I don't want any of the 2018's on the lot. I want the 2019, Silver, SR5 with added heated seats. I certainly acknowledge the difference in model year and the lack of "incentives" on the model I want but all leases are calculated the same and a different doesn't justify scalping me for $10k. I asked the sales rep for your best lease deal on a 2019 4Runner SR5. She came back with numbers from a different planet. Again, a 36-mo, 12k-mile lease, with $5,000 down and $671/mo. DO the math that's $29,156 over three years simply to LEASE a vehicle. I can pay cash for a Corolla and still go to the casino for that. Regardless of model, trim, etc, all leases are calculated the same. Let's take the car I want, which Mountain States Toyota has. The MSRP is $37,939, with NO INCENTIVES, NO DOWN PAYMENT. The lease is about residual and depreciation, so let's say after three years it has a value of $25,500. That means I pay for $12,439 per month, plus money factor and tax. So, base payment is $346/mo. Tax is 8.8%, so $30.45. Figure Good credit at 6.9% translates to a lease money factor of 0.002875 (APR divided by 2400). So, MSRP is $37,939 multiply by the money factor is $109.07. So, total payment is $346 + $109.07 = $455.07. Now for the tax, payment times 8.8% is $495.12. That doesn't even factor in a DOWN PAYMENT. So, how does Mr Stapp get to $29,156 on a car only worth $38k, is beyond me. The numbers above, verified by multiple brokers, come to $19k. What is Mr Stapp planning to do with an extra $10k that no one can account for? Boat payment due? Where Mr Stapp gets $671/mo with $5,000 down over 36 mos regardless of vehicle is simply a scam. The fact that Mr Stapp will only engage with me if I have another dealers quote in hand is further proof he is scamming people. He had one chance to earn my business and Mr Stapp and his staff failed, royally. read more

Keegan gleaton is a JOKE! Don't believe him. In all honesty I wouldn't even bring my service back because of him. He ruined it for everyone that works there. That one bad apple! Bought wheels and tires, TRD PRO lift kit, black out emblems, got me on the schedule for install. Well that day came and he never mentioned a wheel was delayed even though I spoke with his dumb xxx that morning and he still allowed me to waste my time by driving to the dealership to drop of my truck for them to install everything. Not only waste my time he wasted my wife's time, because she had to pick me up. Well after getting home 30 minutes later I get a phone call saying it's impossible to install in a day when MR Keegan said it will be done the next day. So I went back to get my truck due to lack of not knowing xxxx! I cancel the install everything, well I still wanted everything but he was butt hurt and wouldn't sell me the stuff almost a week later we agreed to have everything installed because I believed in the dealership and couldn't judge it because of Keegans unprofessional childish games. I wanted to pick up my wheels to get the ceramic coated done, come to find out MR Keegan has now change the price and increased it. In which I said no and told the lady we agreed on a set price out the door installed. Didn't believe me so I showed her the paper work. Then MR Keegan then agreed to do it at the original price we agreed on. I declined because he pretty much tried to play everyone. He didn't even have the decency to come out to talk to me himself. As I do not like to leave a poor review but, I would have given Stapp a negative if I could... I brought my wife's Camry in for a simple oil change service. These are the facts, the tech left the drain plug loose after they were done. Next day my wife was off to her bible study, I walked into our garage and there was an oil spot under where her car sits after she left, her car does not leak oil. I had to tighten the drain plug so she could drive. This was the second instance of poor service from Stapp in the last year. Wow. I didn't realize this dealership had such poor reviews. Makes sense now. I went their to replace my windshield on my 2020 4Runner. Is was a $1400 repair because the camera had to be recalibrated. I specifically brought it there because I thought they were the best to handle. Well, I left it there while I was on vacation and picked up about a week after it was fixed. None of the windshield stickers were transferred over nor was my toll tag. This is always done with say Safelite and other reputable companies. Also the adhesive tape was still on windshield. When I called to explain my displeasure Stapp quickly passed the buck to the third party service provider that did the repair. DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES IN SERVICE DEPARTMENT! GOT BAIT AND SWITCHED! I needed my 12V battery replaced on my Prius. I called multiple Toyota dealerships in the Denver metro to get a quote. This one confirmed the lowest price multiple times on the phone at $130 including installation (after a $20 coupon from their site), so my husband and I drove 45 minutes there separately to drop my car off. However, once we got there, we were told the price would be more than double and their employee quoted us the rate for a diagnostic check instead of a battery replacement. They refused to honor the misquoted rate and took no responsibility for THEIR mistake. The situation got escalated to the Customer Relations Manager, JACQUELYN JOY. Her demeanor from the start was horrendous and gave us a take it or leave it attitude. She told us the best she can do was $205 (not including installation or fees) and that she will not do the $130 that we were told over the phone. When we questioned her, she told us that we "didn't have it in writing". At first she told us the $205 was her giving us half off the battery to split the difference but then turned around and said that $205 was the actual price of the battery. She couldn't even keep her lies straight. There is NO way the battery costs more than $400 for a 12V like she initially claimed. She then asked for our VIN so she can check the exact price of the battery for our car. WHERE DID THE $205 PRICE COME FROM THEN?? There are plenty of other Toyota dealerships in the Denver metro. I highly suggest you go to anywhere but here, unless you like being lied to and wasting your time. If you have any issues with your service, good luck. Jacquelyn is the WORST customer service manager I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Expect to be cut off every time you try to talk along with a super defensive attitude. Her only priority is to get you to leave and go somewhere else, which she told us to do multiple times. I will never go back here and will never recommend this specific dealership to anybody in my network. They do not hold up to their own values. read more

They tried to lowball us on our trade in. They dont have a finance person any more and the entire process is handled by the sales person. They dont explain it well and it gets INSANE with the after sale add-ons. They dont show any appreciation for your business at all. No thanks, no nothing. When we were done it was just the salesman walking away after telling me in no uncertain terms that I no longer owned the car I traded. I have to wonder why it is that way now. Horrible Service! When I moved to Colorado a few years ago I wanted to find a Toyota dealership for service. I tried Stapp for an oil change. I made an appointment and showed up on time. While they did give me the oil change for free, I vowed never to go back. Last week I got a recall notice for another Toyota, and figured it'd been a couple years, I'll give them another chance. I called Stapp Service and asked for an appointment. I was told the system was down and, without asking, was transferred to a manager. She told me the system was down, and that she'd call back one exit was up. Ok..gave name and number. Two days later...still no call. Called back and was asked to hold. Do not take your car here! Not unless you want to get stuck with an outrageous bill. $135/hr labor!!! They mark parts up 400%! Customer service was terrible. They took two days to process my vehicle into their system because one hand doesn't know what the other one did. When they told me how much replacing my starter was going to take I was in shock. Then to top it off when I said no thanks I'm going to have someone else do the work. I did agree to the $135 diagnosis fee and that my mechanic will just come to get it. Then 20 minutes later I get a call that oops they magically fixed it. Now come pay I was furious. A review of the parts department- I needed a battery for a 2001 Sequoia. For whatever reason, finding a battery has been problematic. The correct battery is a 27F. I had to ditch Sears because their computer would only allow me to buy a 17, which has the terminals reversed. So, told the parts employee at Sapp that I needed a 27F. They wheeled out a 27. I asked if it was a 27F. I was told yep. Sinxe I paid for a 27F and was told that it was and since I dont work the parts department at Sapp, I believed the employee. I didnt realize their mistake until I tried to install it in a dead on the road sequoia. I was able to return before the parts department closed and was given a 24F. Are you kidding me????? I dont work there, but had to explain how this guy was again wrong. I cant even explain how much time I wasted by choosing this parts department for such a simple purchase. CHOOSE ANOTHER DEALER!! Price gouging on basic services. They have current specials for oil change that includes tire rotation and multi point inspection. $34.95 if they use their conventional oil. $54.95 if they use their full synthetic ( which they claim is comparable to Mobil 1 - ummm, sure it is). The thing is, if you purchase and bring your own synthetic oil they insist on still charging the $54.95! The job is exactly the same whether they pour in a conventional or synthetic, so it should be $34.95 - the fact they aren't using ANY of their oil means it should be less, but that's another story! The customer service person I spoke to was arrogant and short with me when I tried to explain the lack of logic in this 'deal'. Bottom line, choose another dealer, most are ran with common sense and you won't be robbed. $20 is $20. See the other reviews - their consumer service sucks and they fail to realize that one negative review on a site like Yelp will cost them a fortune. Until they 'get it', good luck to them! read more
