This store currently has a 3-star rating, and I'm not looking to change that. In case you didn't know, Party City has moved into Staples stores nationwide. As of April 2026, the two companies launched a "store-within-a-store" partnership to fill the gap left by Party City's standalone store closures after its 2024 bankruptcy. My impression is this: Once upon a time, I enjoyed visiting Staples stores as the new school year approached. The stores used to offer plenty of great deals, along with unique and creative stationery items. But it hasn't been like that for many years now. These stores still have their uses. Sometimes you need something right away and can't wait for online shopping to deliver. Otherwise, they've become a shadow of their former selves. Do not use this store located at 2785 Pacific Coast Hwy Ste E, Torrance, CA to ship anything. My package was lost: Label was created at the store but UPS says two contradictory things - it says there is an error in the address and it needs to be corrected - but was given no means of correcting it (the address was correct) And the tracking update says IT HAS NOT RECEIVED THE PACKAGE YET. This is from July 7. It is now July 23. The store says package was picked up but UPS says no. The store says its i not their problem even though UPS says it never got the package . I asked them to start a trace but they won't do that unless you file a claim (got standard $100) - And for that measly amount they want invoices - these were clothes I have brought from another country. No invoices. In any case it gets them off the hook for $100 assuming they even pay it. I will never ship with UPS again! read more

I haven't been here in years, but today my dad wanted to drop by to get some notebooks. They were really cheap for only 50 cents each! The store is clean and nice to shop in. They sell all sorts of cute stuff that my toddler was into, too. We saw a pencil case with those little silicon poppers in the lid, and there were several cute toys and a nice selection of candy by the cash registers. read more

Stay away from Staples shredding service!!!! I went to Staples on PCH in Torrance, CA to have some unused business checks shredded. Staples uses Iron Mountain for their shredding service. There are locked bins, into which you put the documents you want shredded. I paid for the shredding and the next day I received a call from my banker asking me if I had issued at check for $15,000 to a person unknown to me who had attempted to deposit it to a Bank of America account. (I received a copy of the fraudulent check from my bank). The check was written on one of the blank checks I had put in the bin to be shredded, so their shredding process is not secure. I went back to Staples and talked to the store manager, who was very nice, but all she said she could do was give me the phone number of Staples Corporate. I then called the number, but after about 1/2 hour of trying, it was impossible to get a human on the line to explain what happened. I then called Iron Mountain at the phone number they have on the bins and same thing, their phone tree doesn't enable anyone to make a complaint or a claim. I did speak with a customer service representative finally (who was out of country and hard to understand) and they assured me that someone would get back to me via email, which I provided them. In the meantime, I had to close the account the check was written on and open another account, transfer funds, etc. A real headache! Staples and Iron Mountain customer service is extremely poor and their shredding service in unsecure and potentially damaging and dangerous. It would be interesting to know if Iron Mountain maintains any form of chain of custody records relating to who picks up on specific dates at specific locations. Stay away from the Iron Mountain shredding service. By the way, if anyone from Staples or Iron Mountain reads this I'll leave contact information with the manager of the Staples Store. read more

Decent prices for when I need things the same day, and they even have some great sales. Two things I love: their clearance section on the back wall and their teacher supply section in the back right. I am on an HOA that needed to get a message out to our members swiftly on New Year's eve without any lead time. I needed to put up posters that evening but no other print shops were open given the holiday. So I called Staples and I was so lucky that Amanda answered because she told me she would do whatever she could to help me and gave me really clear instructions on how to get the file to her and then she hustled while I waited to print and laminate the posters. I went to do a happy return, I waited at the counter while the female associate ignored me saying excuse me, I waited a minute said it again but she was fighting with the printer so again I gave her the benefit of the doubt of not nearing me, finally said it loud enough for her to hear she said one moment so I waited. Their online inventory showed that this store had 4 boxes in stock, and I called before heading over to confirm that they actually had them. When I was ready to purchase them, I asked the employee about the expiration date on the film. He saw that 2 packs had already expired a month ago. I ended up purchasing 2 unexpired packs. They also price matched Amazon, provided the item is shipped and sold by Amazon. While I was disappointed that I drove over and didn't get what I intended to purchase, the employees in the store were friendly and I found some cute children's face masks to buy. Had a rushed, chaotic morning to get documents copied for my doctor. Had chemo that morning and could not take pain meds because I was driving. Was in pain and not clear-headed, Tried the self-serve and had difficulties, even when Jason, an employee, was assisting me; one was my error. I was so frustrated. Jason saw how aggravated and upset I was. Self-serve is 0.33/page, counter price is $1 per page. Jason copied all of my documents for me, put the copies in nicely labeled boxes, and charged me the self-serve price. He did not charge me for the mistakes I had made. I hope this does not get him in trouble for doing so. He did the right thing as an exemplary employee. He went above and beyond. I was able to deliver the copies to the doctor on time, and the rest of my day was a breeze, thanks to Jason. Kudos to Jason! An asset to the company! If it were in my power, I'd give him a raise and a month off with pay. His assistance, knowledge, empathy, and compassion are immeasurable. He is what customer service is all about and saved the day! He was patient, kind, and made the stress of all of this work fall by the wayside. I wanted to recognize an excellent employee in Darryl at the Staples on the corner of Crenshaw and PCH. I ordered an expensive office chair with assembly added. When I went to pick the chair up, it did not look right and Darryl agreed that something was off and that it should be perfect. He told me he would build a new one for me that I could pick up the next day. Not only did this new chair look perfect, but he offered to help me get it to my car and carried it so it wouldn't scratch the wheels. I had to walk him through basic math before he gave me correct change. Is it too much to ask that a business train it's employees how to make correct change? I wanted to give a positive shout out to Staples on the corner of PCH and Crenshaw. I purchased an office chair that needed to be put together. I wasn't ready for it yet so it sat in the box in my garage for a bit over a month. Once I put it together I realized the chair was too large for my frame and the adjustments for the arms couldn't be adjusted enough. Although it was beyond the normal return time frame, Staples asked me to return the assembled chair (without taking it apart) and gave me a full cash refund. I will be returning soon to purchase another chair with the correct dimensions. I always patronize establishments who know how to treat their customers. I believe my contact person was Randy. Like many of the chain-type stores, every Staples is pretty much the same. They all offer the same kind of office, shipping, printing, and computer supplies. This one is no different. As this one is the store closest to me, this is the Staples that I most commonly frequent. No better, no worse than the many other Staples I have shopped at. This Staples is located on PCH right off of Crenshaw so it is easy to get to. The parking lot, however, is not that great. To park in front of the store you have to grab one of the spots down the relatively narrow, multi-direction throughway. As there are other shops and businesses in this strip mall, sometimes this can become a problem due to the poor driving skills of others. My suggestion, go park in the larger section of the lot, down at the end, located by Wienerschnitzel. The in and the out is much easier over there. The staff at this shop, like all the other Staples I have visited, pretty much comes and go. But, from my experience, they have all done their job fairly well. Staples supplies what it supplies. This Staples is a good business to go to when your Staple-like stuff. read more

The store associates greeted me as i walked in and asked what i was looking for, I asked to speak to the manager because it was regarding a price adjustment. We went in to copy some documents to an SD card. An older woman at the Copy Center wanted to charge me 50% more because I was using an SD card... She said, "USB is the preferred method."
