They need to train employees better. Rudeness can't be tolerated. I came to buy some toner and as I'm checking out I realized I don't have my business card with me so I proceed to make a transfer to my other card so I can pay and the cashier literally says to me "hey we have other people waiting" - You don't say that to a customer period, I don care how long the line is, not my fault you're the only one working the cashier.. you guys have 3 other cashier stations, you can ask another employee or your manager to come help with the line, but no, you decide it's ok to talk to a paying customer like that. This is exactly the reason why I'd rather order my ink from Amazon.. cheaper, and don't have to deal with people who don't appreciate my business. Will think twice next time I'm in a bind and need something for my office. Management, hope you read this and start training your employees on how to treat customers better. read more

I stopped by this Staples this morning to get a college rule paper. I got one before at another Staples location but I didn't know that they had 2 different paper size for the colle rule paper so I got the wrong one which was the smaller one. I been to the plaza this store is in before but never visited this Staple store until today. I found parking easily and they were not busy at all. I didn't know where the college rule papers would be so I walked around the store to check out what they have as well. I found the college rules paper where the binders were at. I checked out their computer chairs they had out, computer desk and printers as well. They seem fully stocked when I was at the store. I was searching all over for pocket 2026/2027 calendars. I'm old school and write all of my appointments and birthdays down in these type of calendars. I searched Walmart, dollar store, target and found it here at Staples. Upon entering The clerk help and physically walked me to where the calendars were located and I had great customer service. The price of these calendars has really gone up, but it makes my life so much easier. read more

I was in the market for a new desk/computer chair, so I sought out Staples since they have such a nice selection. I instantly found the chair I wanted... one of those ergonomic chairs. I sat down, and the first chair I sat in, I knew was the one. It fit me perfectly, and I could tell my back would love me forever. I've had it a couple of weeks now, and it's STILL perfect. The cervical and lumbar regions of my back have been so much better, and I've been nearly pain free since getting this chair... whereas I was forever buying cushions and other items to augment the lack of whatever support from the other chair I had. Anyway, I'm so happy with my purchase, and there was a huge sale going on with the manufacturer, as it happens. I was really lucky all the way around. The salesgirl was very helpful, and she helped us arrange to have it assembled there because neither my husband nor I are good at that sort of thing. They did it in 1-2-3 for us. I would love to give a higher rating because I've been happy with their stock, most clerks, and the printing service but here is where they really need to improve:: 1) if your printing service is complete, a customer shouldn't have to call to ask if they're ready - makes no sense. When called and turns out my cards were ready (and couldn't find at first because they put in wrong place), they said "we're really busy and can't call every time an order is ready". 2) you need more clerks in then printing services area as there is always a line and they're so busy 3) there is a lady that works there that I learned is the general manager who was on the speaker phone call the entire time I waited. This Staples is outstanding when it comes to customer service at the print counter. The quality of the work is excellent and the people who work there are really nice. I just bought a printer from Costco and I am having problems setting it up. Yeah, it would be convenient to have a printer in the house, but I am reevaluating whether it is really worth the added cost when I can get a professional job at Staples. Shout out to all the nice people who work there. Being a retail employee is tough these days, but even when people are impatient these employees never let it affect how they treat the next customer. Had made many attempts via phone & online to order a cartridge/toner for my printer. Every attempt to direct me to the right product was futile. I finally took my problem to Staples in Simi Valley and a young man (Theodore Hartman of TJ to his co-workers) took the time to explain the printer cartridges/toner cartridges and resolved my problem. This is one of the locations to go to finalize a TSA Pre registration. I live 10 miles from this location which was the closest to me. I tried to make a reservation online but it's not necessary according to the TSA website. Arriving at 4:45, the PSA kiosk signage says available until 5:00. I waited to speak with the checkout attendant I believe was named James, who said that he doesn't do any after 4:45 because his manager has a strict policy of no overtime. I asked him that I just needed the last step, I had completed everything online, he said it would take 10 minutes for which there we were at the 10 minute mark. He said I needed an appointment for which I told him it wasn't working to book one online. He said he tried it the day earlier and it just takes awhile. Needless to say, if he really has a manager that wouldn't let him work a few minutes overtime - unbelievable! It's not everyday I am able to show my daughter a perfect example of an @sshole, today was one of them. You folks at Staples in Simi Valley location need to reevaluate your work ethic! read more

Be careful when coming here to print documents. Came in today to print some documents which were private personal document since their printer works better than what we have at home. Purchased two ink cartridges for my printer for $87.93. The cashier hands me my receipt and says "there you go". I said yup there I go. Then I said, you know, I like coming into the Staples store, I could order this online, but Iike to support the local business . Staples has been closing stores like the one in Moorpark and if this one closes you won't have a job anymore, so how about letting your customers know that their business is appreciated by simply saying thank you. She said "well to each his own" . I motioned to a man behind another counter and said, is he the manager? She said we both are managers. I spoke to the second manager, and expressed exactly what I had said to the first manager . He said you are right, sir. I said, how about at your next meeting Let the staff know that saying thank you could be one way to let customers know you appreciate your business . I recently went to staples last night to get a publication printed out. Sonny was the only one in the printing department at the time. Let me tell you right now. Sonny needs a raise. Sonny's customer service was on point not to mention they were very patient, informative, and very friendly the whole time! My publication came out way faster than I expected. Visited the Simi Valley Staples on Cochran a few days ago to get ink for my printer. Cost for two cartridges $87.93. After completing the transaction, I am handed the receipt with "there you go." I said: "Yup, there I go." (What's missing here?) I commented that I happen to like going into my local Staples store. The one in Moorpark closed. Staple store are closing in Southern California. I could have purchased online but I LIKE supporting my local Staples store. "How about showing a little appreciation for customer support by THANKING THEM for their business? If the store closes your job goes away." She said "To each his own, I guess." I turned toward a man behind another counter and asked her "Is he the manager?" She said: "We both are managers." I spoke to the man behind the counter repeating what I just had said to his fellow "manager". He said: "You are right, sir." I said "How about at your next store meeting let your staff know that THANKING your customers and letting the customer know their business is APPRECIATED is one way to keep them coming back. Saying "there you go" is NOT a way to say "thank you". The other female "manager" shook her head and turned away. As I walked out the male manager said: "Thank you for your business, sir." this is my favorite place to go when I need anything printed or just advice. Even during the busy times the print department has always been amazing. I appreciate them for their professionalism and amazing customer service. And even if we're not in town I'd rather wait and come here. We use their services for homeschooling but mostly church ministry. They've done a wonderful job with printing Four church bulletins, young adult ministry song sheets and Bible study guides. This Staples isn't the best, nor the worst. Pretty much in the middle of the pack of their stores I've visited over the years. They typically have the main items I use for work. Their displays to entice interest in new or featured items aren't especially noteworthy, which is a missed opportunity. I am a fan of the "ARC" line of refillable notebooks that is a Staples exclusive. The system offers a variety of different covers and page inserts. I use them for my work and typically need refills at least once a month, along with my favorite gel pens. Sometimes Dear Hubby will run in for me when he's doing other errands. When I go, I usually find other ways to spend money there. They have been running specials on Keurig K-Cups. If you buy 3 boxes, you get $2 off per box, which is a decent savings. We are in their club program, which offers occasional extra discounts. read more

It's no wonder places like this are going out of business. They're run by morons. Came in to buy a couple monitor risers and saw an office chair that I liked. Decided to buy it and was told that they didn't have any in boxes, just the display model which they were unable to sell due to them needing it for online sales. Listen dummies if I'm coming into a store to buy something I'm not coming in to order it, I want to WALK OUT WITH IT. If I wanted to order it online I wouldn't need to walk in to your friggin' store! It's unfortunate that stores like these (which used to be decent) are unable to service their customers correctly and are comfortable with turning away sales when they are sorely needed. When they do go out of business (and they will) they'll just blame it on something else and not on their crappy business policies. read more

The reason I gave this Staples 4+ stars is because I use their printing service for my church needs quite a bit. Price is high but the service is good. This time Arturo is particularly helpful and I am very grateful for his help. Someone gave me a wrong quote to print some booklet, but Arturo helped me work around the products and offered me discount and match the original quote, to remedy the other person's mistake. He provides great customer service and has good knowledge!! I went here earlier to get some things printed for work and I was expecting a call from Dana to let me know that my things have been printed. Got a call from her to let me know that my email didn't go though and they couldn't print it until it was in there system. After a second attempt and an hour later, I called and spoke with Tony. He said that my email still hasn't gone through. He suggested for me to come in the store and that he'll figure out what's going on. My paper work was printed and he was a very big help!
