Came to Staples print center to print a few invitations for a party. The good thing is that they can do same day. I called ahead and wish they had told me that I could have emailed, but now I know. I will admit that I was a bit confused when I arrived. They have a computer workstation and several printers, but I had a specific need. The woman working there seemed a little unhappy and overworked. It appeared like they needed more staff. I had to physically flag her down to get help. I felt bad for her because she seemed to have a lot going on. It would be nice if there were more signs with direction or a staff member available for customer assistance. The team member ended up being really helpful once I got her attention. Overall they did a great job and being able to get your prints same day was amazing!! read more

What a great experience at Staples San Juan Capistrano!! We needed an urgent color picture of my father for the memorial mass the next day. We arrived at Staples around 7:00 pm when Brian was the only representative in the printing section. In spite of a super busy load that evening, and being by himself, Brian took our order right away and did a wonderful job of great quality. I went to Staples for a simple print job. I had a business card I wanted replicated as letterhead, and envelopes to match. Simple, pretty much the bread and butter of a normal print shop. The clerk said they'd send it to Design Services for a quote. No problem- in 4-5 days they called with a reasonable quote for the layout service, and told me the local store would call me to review/approve the proof. 2=weeks go by, no call. Today I went in and the different clerk searched her computer and the paper files on the counter. No record. "I'm the only one here, so I don't know what to tell you- maybe a third party has it?" Located in the parking lot of Costco and next to Petsmart, I needed to make a stop here to print needed documents since my printer went caput. Headed off to the printing station. There, they are self serving kiosks, where there are signs that instruct you on what do it. Always the one who needs extra help, I was super grateful that the employees there were accommodating in giving me extra direction on how to navigate. Steps: Choose your printer station, email whatever documents to the email address on the sign, Staples@printme.com, within minutes, open your email, and you get a code. Use that code into the printer and choose your printing preference. In my case, double sided, long. To save paper and space. It asks for your credit card, and rewards number. Here is the tip: if you are like me and have multiple items to be printed and want it all to be charged at once, after you are done with the first batch, don't hit the button that says close or end. You hit the "Cancel " and 'cancel again" , open your email and find the next code to put into the printer. Repeat. Once you are done, then you close out and it will charge your credit card once. It took me a minute to figure it out with help, not going to lie. But once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. I give Staples a 4 for their help and customer service, and and extra star for a 5 for their inventory. As I was walking down the isles, I noticed unique items that I had to grab. They were on clearance, and a batch of Thank you cards, with my favorite peacock design . After All, 2023 will be a year of Gratitude for me and giving people Thank You cards to show your Gratitude is always a nice gesture. Whether its for a Yelp event, A friend, Loved One, or even a complete stranger. I am going into 2023 prepared. If you find yourself in pinch and need printing done, or office items and cant wait, Staples is the place to go. read more

I looked to her for help with providing the exact format for a photo that I wished to have done and framed for our daughter and son-in-law's 25th anniversary. The copy needed to fit in the photo frame that I had brought in. Natalia immediately knew what to do and copied it to the exact size that was needed for the already chosen frame. We were absolutely delighted with the result! Natalia asked if I would like her to trim the copy, agreeing; she then cut it to fit perfectly! I recently visited the Staples store at 33959 Doheny Park Rd. in San Juan Capistrano on May 25th, Thursday at 08:00AM and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I received. My experience at this store was nothing short of horrible, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal. I arrived at the store early in the morning, right when it opened at 8:00 am. I had an urgent need to print and copy around 1160 pages of documents for an important project. One of our employees had encountered a flight delay and was carrying all the presentation papers, jeopardizing our scheduled meeting. Consequently, I needed the copies as soon as possible. Upon entering the store, I greeted an employee, a lady, with a friendly "Good morning." To my surprise, she did not acknowledge my presence and responded with an angry tone, saying she would be with me shortly. I understood that everyone can have a rough start to their day, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. However, for the next five minutes, she remained engrossed in her computer work without uttering a word to me. Feeling ignored, I politely interrupted her to ask a question. Her response was utterly disrespectful, as she replied, "What?" It was clear that she was responsible for the printing center and should have represented the company in a more professional manner. I proceeded to inform her that I needed to make copies, but she made no effort to assist me or even inquire about my specific requirements. Her demeanor conveyed annoyance, as if I were intruding on her personal space. Her long face and obvious reluctance to help made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When I attempted to explain my needs, holding a 22Rd.-page document and requiring 52 sets of copies (totaling 1,160 pages), she remained seated, showing no interest in the task at hand. Only when I insisted that she come closer and look at the papers did she reluctantly approach. It was disheartening to witness her complete lack of enthusiasm and her evident desire to expedite the interaction. She informed me that it would take her approximately three hours to complete the job. Realizing the urgency of my project and understanding that the store had other orders to fulfill, I opted to take matters into my own hands and use the self-service copy machine. However, when I sought assistance on how to operate the machine, she displayed a complete disinterest in helping me. Her attitude was unhelpful, curt, and discourteous. Over the course of the next two hours, I painstakingly made the copies myself. Whenever I required assistance or had a question, she responded with a displeased expression, as if it were my fault for needing her guidance. The entire experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disgusted. To add to my disappointment, I ended up spending $1,275 on making the copies, only to be treated so poorly. This incident occurred on May 25th, Thursday, at the aforementioned location. I urge the management of Staples to identify the employee who was working during that shift and address her behavior. It is crucial that steps be taken to ensure that future customers do not endure the same disrespectful treatment that I experienced. In conclusion, my visit to the Staples store at 33959 Doheny Park Rd. San Juan Capistrano was a deeply unsatisfactory and disheartening experience. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service exhibited by the employee on duty left a lasting negative impression. I sincerely hope that the management takes appropriate action to rectify this situation and improve the overall customer experience at this store. read more

Not exactly sure having Amazon returns at Staples was a good idea. It's obvious that the extra work is not welcomed by the employees... walked in with my 3 returns to the drop-off area and saw an employee walking to me. I said 'Hi'... there was no comment. Once he got to the register, I said, 'Hi, I have a few returns'... without eye contact he said, 'I see that.' And that was all of our communication verbally. Went in earlier today to get a new ink cartridge for my work printer. I asked the guy if he could help me find the certain one I was looking for. After asking he looked at me and said "what do you need?", with an attitude. I then asked again "do you have this cartridge in stock?" No, he replied. I said "well do you have a replacement, like another brand but same style?" No we don't carry it. He didn't offer any suggestions, had attitude and looked annoyed being there. Too many unfortunate incidents and excuses at this store with either Bob, Scott, and/or Alvin. Here are their responses. 1) I am sorry but I can't handle this at the store level. 2) I am sorry but we can't find the items even though our inventory says we have two of that item. 3) You could buy the insurance for that chair for $15 on a $90 purchase. That insurance is different than the manufacture's warranty. "I am sorry" is the excuse for everything! "My pleasure" is their response if you thank them. About 4 months ago: a young female cashier with dark hair who still works there. I asked about a coffeemaker that was on sale. Her reply? I am sorry but can you please take a picture of the item off the shelf in the store and show me what you are talking about? This is the last time I will be giving this location for my business. I've given them my business for 19 years. Amazon offers office supplies much cheaper than Staples and I don't have to interact with those "sorry" employees. These "employees" look like they hate their jobs. read more

On July 6th I went into Staples in San Juan/Capo Beach Ca for a few odds and ends and while down the memory card isle we had a 7.1 earthquake. It rolled a lot and I was in a clear above my head area so I sat on the floor while it continued. The employees freaked out and laughed and did not make one attempt to check on customers or try to get people to exit the building as any type of safety protocol. As they were talking, one of the guys started saying he thought he waving a seizure as a joke because of the earthquake. Then he made seizure motions as he was laughing about it, and the others standing around laughed. How awful is this behavior while you are working for a company and are the face of providing customer service, and to behave like that. I find that appalling beyond belief as I am Epileptic and living a life with Epilepsy. I felt very uncomfortable in the store. I made my purchase and made a comment to her about it. No sorry, no are you ok, and seemed to enable their behavior as just being funny in a stressful situation. I've spent a lot of money at Staples through the last 20 years due to my career and owning my own business's through the years and I'm at the point that I'm so disappointed by this to pull all my business going forward. Making fun of disabilities is such a negative thing in this day and age, but to go to a store where you've spent your hard earned money and have always had great experiences there makes me not want to come back. I took the time to write this in hopes that someone at Staples reads it, and feels it, and have it heard. I've often have had seizures in stores and in public and let me say, I'm super glad I didn't have a seizure there amongst those working there, I have no confidence that it would have been taken seriously or appropriate attention would of been given even just by calling 911. Again, none of the employees bothered to walk the store after the earthquake and check on customers. Even another customer made a comment about how they didn't seem to care at all who was in the store. I hope this may bring some light to Corporate. Maybe help by some type of training to explore with staff on how to be mindful of who is in the store etc. I don't expect everyone to know I'm Epileptic, I don't wear a sign on my forehead. But you never know what someone deals with, lives with, and how offensive these things could end up being. Along with refreshing the staff at the stores on what to do when there is an emergency like this large earthquake to ensure the safety of the staff and the customers in the store. I'm disappointed to say the least, but maybe one person at Staples can see this and know something has to change, something has to improve, something has to acknowledged that this isn't the vision of your company. read more

I just left Staples w/o making a purchase. Typically, service is not great but I would go there because it is so conveniently location w/in one mile from my office. All I needed was one package of copy paper & pricing on a desktop calendar. When I got to the front I asked about the price. When told the high amount, I said I no thankyou on the calendar, just the paper. The clerk said, "I am going to put this back now, then & left me standing there" a bit shocked & dismayed. I would normally expect him to set the calendar aside & ring up my purchase. Needless to say, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm attending a course and I needed a 35 page order printed and laminated... I called before going because we got out of work late (Around 8:15pm.) I know they close at 9pm so I didn't want to show up and have all this work for them. I get it; around closing nobody wants to deal with big jobs. l, myself am an advocate for that as well. So I called to ask if they'd be able to do it and if not, that's totally okay I'll come in the next day at a more convenient time. I was put on hold by one of the employees, Brian then answers the phone and I ask "Hey, I have a 35 page document that I would like printed and laminated. I get it's late..." he interrupted me and said "Well I can tell you right now that's not happening, I won't even look at it." If he would have let me finish I would have asked "what would be a better time to come in or honestly anything to make it convenient for them." Instead he was very rude and disrespectful! read more

I was planning on binding my textbook for a business course when the young man behind the counter advised me not to. I agreed with his logic and was then further assisted by Dale the substitute manager, who went out of his way to accommodate my requests. He took me to the computer where he searched their inventory to find what I needed. With no luck in finding the correctly sized binder to fit my book- he then took me to the aisle where he assisted me further in finding a good binder that would be a reasonable substitute. Rudest people. I called to see if they do document shredding. The girl said yes. Great, I could buy ink for printer and drop off boxes of docs for shredding. I went in with a cart full of boxes and asked the checker where I go. He was a red haired guy with kind of an attitude. He told me go to the middle? I walked toward the other side and a girl came out to ups counter and said she'd help me. I put first box up and she weighed it then just stared at me. I asked what I should do. There were a lot more boxes. She said put it in there. I turned around and saw 2 trash bins with locks on the top. They didn't open. She said no, you put each piece of paper through the slot. Are you kidding. I would have been there for days. She said do you want to talk to manager. I said sure and over came a guy named Todd. I told him about the situation. He was rude and said, that's right. He the scowled at me and said, "what's the matter, don't you want to work for your shredding". What a company. Who hires people like this. I took the documents to a different company and they were great. I told them about my experience at staples and everyone got a good laugh. I'll buy ink somewhere else tomorrow. read more

He didn't hassle us at all, simply asked if I thought he could re-sell it, to which I replied yes. The printer was acting up and way to complicated for my mom. Friendly staff, I am always running errands here. They are helpful in the print dept. Has everything all the other Staples stores have to offer but they people here say hi more often and really do help when they offer it or you ask. It not too crowded during the day usually either so it makes the lines super quick. read more
