After almost 15 years of buying 90% of my office equipment and supplies from this store, I will not be coming back. Went to buy a printer, zero employees on the floor. One happened to walk by, which apparently is like spotting Bigfoot, buy he literally avoided eye contact and sped by me. Teller staff is untrained, aloof, and unprofessional with the exception of Avangelina. Out of the 90 minutes of that soul-crushing experience, she was the one bright star. It's so sad. This used to be a great store, but something has happened in the last couple years. I used to come to Staples more often than I do now, but my college efforts are on hiatus. Regardless, the few times I do find myself in Staples, they always have what I need. The store always has a very clean, organized, and relaxing feel to it. The store is divided into its respective sections and everything is clearly labeled. Their prices are always competitive to what other stores are charging for similar or identical products. There's always two or three staff members working the front, while another two or three employees help customers on the sales floor. Had to pick up ink, the usual dreaded task. Ink is costly and if you get the wrong cartridge well... No worries here. As soon as I walked in the door I was offered help by a lady at the register. When I made my request for ink, Caleb took over. Caleb listened to what I needed and as we searched the store computer, he even managed to help a second customer without making either one of us feel abandoned. He called another location for me, but found a solution in his own store when the El Cerito Staples wasn't answering. Because Caleb was such a good listener, he basically made my shopping trip easy and saved me a drive to El Cerito. The staff here is always professional and helpful. I imagine working in office supplies one would get a lot of customers with stressful errands. A quick pick up for their jobs before the boss notices they're gone, or stressful purchases for the first day of school. Whatever worries the customers bring in, it does not reflected on the employees. They always make shopping for the mondaine, sometimes perplexing items, a calm and easy process. read more

Went in to ask for help printing a print from Etsy and the woman working stated that she didn't have time to deal with the file type and I could use a computer and there is no way to email this file to have it printed. I really like all staples locations as stepping into their store just makes me feel so productive and organized lol! I love how convenient it is to print a bunch of copies with ease. Service is decent. Every now and then I come across a rude or unhelpful employee but considering I don't usually need much help finding things anymore it isn't a problem. The ladies in the front are always sweet, and there's always plenty of parking! I love that sometimes I can find really cute supplies you don't typically see at like target or Walmart. Definitely my go to for quality office supplies! read more

I called two other Staples locations and neither of them had an iPhone 6s battery and I was put on hold forever while they checked. This location, very politely put me on hold for a very short amount of time while they checked, they had the battery in stock and offered to put it aside with my name on it. I went in and they replaced my battery in 15 minutes for $29. I'm very satisfied read more

I went to staples today to buy the bottle water that was on sale and although there customer service wasn't bad every one was very polite however not one person offered to help with the water I'm disabled it obvious when you see and you guys I was struggling big time not only did I buy water but I had a basket full of items . I saw one woman on the floor and at least 6 men , 4 at the cash register no one offered to help me to the car I was having a hard time pushing the basket when I left the store I could barely make I nearly drop the cases of water putting in the back of the car. As a disabled customer I expect more when it comes to customer service it's not about hi how are you and thank you . Customer service should extend to helping the customer to the car . I would have given them two half stars just because they were very well mannered however I gave two stars not a disabled friendly atmosphere. read more

This store is closer to me than another Staples store in the area and I always leave this store empty handed. Then I drive further to the other Staples location and always find what I am looking for and there is always a bigger selection. The limited inventory has only gotten worse once they downsized and move to a smaller unit next door. read more

I come here frequently for shipping services and there seems to always be an issue with the line. If the one person scheduled for both shipping and printing services is busy then you're waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. I went in as soon as they opened to make a copy from my email since I do not own a printer. The email was time sensitive due to pending court case. I was told I could do it myself at the computer (for $5 deposit on card or debit). After they got their $5 I was directed to several sales pitches where they were charging me per second!!! I never got my copy. Unprincipled business scam!! Cost me $1 on my debit card for nothing. read more

This is my second time my laptop crashed, and visiting the tech dept @ Spencer who has been always been an expert in solving my problem @ a whisk of time sply when you have a deadline and imp files. Elsewhere it might be a keep it overnight, next day then a week. Then a huge bill ! The people who work there are nice and helpful. But each time I've gone there, the printer/copiers and fax machines are always out of service. Today, the fax machine was out again. And the UPS center, the credit card machine was not working. They could only take cash which I had to leave the store to go to an ATM to get. Management there is letting their employees and most importantly their customers down by making them deal with poorly serviced equipment. I will not go there anymore. read more

I've been to this location ever since they moved 2 doors and it's such a small location that they moved into. They don't carry all the products that I used to purchase here like our toner for the printer and now we have to buy it online. Friendly customer service but just not too many options on products. I really just come here to recycle my toner and that's about it now since we order everything online. read more

Horrible printing service! My Husband designed our Son's bday invites and we decided to print them here for convenience. I arrived at the counter at 9am and was told to submit online and I could pick them up same day. I immediately went home and submitted my order. All I did was upload 2 photos. I did not use any of the editing for the invite as it was already designed. I called THREE times and was told I would be called when my order was ready. No call. My 4th cal I was told it would be ready at 8pm. I arrive and STILL not done. Manager offered a refund and to pick up the following day. I arrive the next day for pick up only to se a HUGE text box in the middle of my invites that says "Insert Text Here". They had the nerve to blame me for it. I am not an idiot, I know to review before submission. My Husband and I both reviewed the flier before submitting and that text box was not there. Needless to say they offered to reprint them as a "one time courtesy". Really???? read more

The staff members at this staples are very friendly and helpful. Every time I come in I'm immediately welcomed. Someone is always approaching me to see if I need anything which is a plus. I love getting all my school things from staples because they have everything I need at reasonable prices. And Alex is very quick at the registers! He's very knowledgeable. I ordered and paid for a printer online on 8/19 to be picked up in one hour from Staples Pinole. When we went to pick it up we were told that we had to wait until Monday 8/22 for the "shipment" to arrive from Staples online. They refused to give us one that they had in stock. As we had already paid online, our hands were tied. We have a home business that we needed the printer for and we were unable to print for the weekend. On Monday when my husband went to pick up the printer, Staples Pinole charged us again for the printer!! I have written to Staples Online twice to get the matter resolved, with NO REPLY!! If I could give this store no stars I would. I asked for help to fax something and the girl behind the counter had an attitude the whole time she was supposedly "helping" me. I asked her since I had written a note on the back of the receipt that I wanted to faxes over would it copy both side of the paper or did I have to pay for two pages which I didn't mind. She notice that my note was quite long for the coverage page and told to get a blank paper from one of the tray from the broken copy mechanic. I don't understand why she would expect me to get the paper my self. If it was an option then why couldn't she get one for me. What would other employees and people think if they saw me doing that even if I was given the ok. read more

One of my clients had a brochure sent to this location. He sent out the brochures on a Saturday and an employee at the Staples in this location told my client that his brochures would arrive the next day. The next day I went in to pick up the brochures. Much to everyone's surprise, the brochures had not been printed and they also could not locate our order. Because I need these brochures to begin operations tomorrow (Monday), I came to the conclusion that I would not be picking them up and would have to resort to having them printed on the spot. Unfortunately, I had a tactless and bitter employee, Doris, who insisted on finding the brochures (after the previous employee had helped me for the last 20 minutes). Due to time constraints, I asked Doris if she could help in printing new brochures rather than asking me pointless questions that I had already answered to the previous employee. Doris insisted on wasting my time and continued to ask me questions I could not answer (my client is in WA and I couldn't reach him), rather than helping me find a solution to my problem. In the end, she had the audacity to call me rude, and I ended up leaving Staples without any of my material - forcing me to push back operations for another day. Furthermore, I have just contacted my client, and was told that this location had confirmed receiving his order yesterday (Saturday) and that they would be ready for pick-up today. At least I know how they run their printing operations at this location. I love coming to this staples. There associates at just great. Even though they are very under staffed at nights the manager Jessica makes it feel like they have a million associates just helping everyone in the store while still trying to keep up with what she is doing. I never go at any other time besides the evenings. They might have more associates and managers in the morning, but they do not seem to care about there customers. Both times I have gone in the mornings two different lady managers tried to help me and both told me they did not an item that I had just bought the day before with Jessica. Those two ladies need to be changed they are useless, the two white managers that use to be there last December did so much more and were so much more helpful towards what people needed. But yes people only go at night when Jessica is there if you're looking for some great and out of this world customer service. read more

So I normally don't shop at staples or office max or office supply stories in general but other stores that I went to didn't have what I was looking for so my only choice was to come here. I was a but reluctant to come here because their prices are a bit high but there are always coupons available online. The store is very large and organized very well with signs everywhere. They have a variety of different things for all the office supplies you will ever need. I bought an accordion folder, file inserts, folders and a notebook all for $18! I thought this was a great deal and all the stuff that I bought had cute designs on them. The only thing that I didn't find was a decent sized and cheap planner. All the ones that they had were really pricey ($25+ up) and too fancy for what I wanted it for. None the less, was happy to score such good prices on the other items. Stupid employees. Today I was shopping for a laptop. I saw a sign that said they had specials on laptops where they had only one or two left. I was looking at laptops for almost 10 minutes without seeing any employees. I finally went over to the cashier and asked if there was anyone in the computer department. She finally sent someone over. I asked to see one of the computers where they only had one left. He said they were in the back, but they couldn't bring them out for people to look at. He would only bring it out if I agreed to buy it sight unseen. I told him what I thought of that policy. I left and went down to Best Buy and bought a laptop for a lower price. read more

The lady at the copy and print center (heavyset) was unhelpful and lack customer service. October 26, 2015 7:00 pm. I asked simple questions and she answered with one worded answers. I needed a simple print from my email, and she said we do not take them electronically but through usb drives. Do you know what a USB drive is? she asked me I was like wtf? ok fine, so i looked around and saw a self service kiosk, so I paid to use it and pulled the documents to be printed from my email to the USB that I happen to have. Once thats done, I asked her to print it from the USB, she went on to say go use the computer to print it. In my mind, I'm like why did you tell me to go home and bring it back in a USB drive? I could've done everything at home and not use your help. Avoid this place, it lacks good service and products. My advice to the lady, if you hate your job so much, go find somewhere else to work. Who are you to work at Staples and think you can talk down to people. Did you grow up to think I want to work at the Copy and Print department at Staples? I assume not, so because you're there apparently you're not smarter than most people. read more

Went in to have a document printed and then laminated. They took the job and indicated that it would be done in 30 minutes. We waited in the store for 90 minutes. The equipment they were using to do the cutting kept goofing up. They didn't charge us for the job which was nice but would have preferred to be able to get in and out quickly. read more

Unsatisfactory service in their copy/business center. I went there at 10am today. The clerk was busy chit chatting in Spanish with a friend (talking about sopa and other stuff). The machine for photocopying wouldn't recognize any of my credit cards. I saw another tech clerk in nearby area so I went and alerted him to the problem with his machine. He blamed my cards (I tried several different ones) and he sold me one of their cards -- adding more money than I needed (because "customers make mistakes," he said -- he also double checked my counting on # of copies I needed so knew I hadn't made a mistake). I return to machine. Card he sold me didn't work either and by this time, the copy center clerk was done socializing and said that card reader was broken (it had no sign indicating as such, and that was what I had reported to the other clerk who dismissed me as having "customer error"). Real error is people they have hired or how they're being managed. This is second time I've had sub-par service experience at this location. It's near where I live so would be convenient but I'm going to explore other options in future. read more

The staff is pretty friendly... they were helping me locate a laptop... the easy tech was a hot latino with pretty eyes... his helper was a friendly chatty cathy who was very nice but spent too much time chatting and trying to sell me stuff instead of just getting the job done. Horrible service none of the staff are welcoming or helpful no one was on the floor to better assist me with any of the equipment they are selling. I asked one of the staff standing at the front cashier if she new about a certain printer and she cut me off before I could even finish my question and just pointed and said you can print labels out over there but I was actually looking to purchase a printer smh. This location needs a whole new staff. Also I like to point out that none of the staff should be standing behind the counter if their are no customers to be rung up they should be more productive.
