I went in to have pc desktop computer looked at by Victor (owner) because it was running extremely slow. Victor ran a number of pc cleanup software programs to clean/remove any old stuff that might be hindering the overall performance. The pc ran a bit faster, but Victor made a recommendation to have a new hard drive SSD installed. I will say that after the install the machine ran super-fast as if the pc was brand new. So, I'm very happy with results and would recommend the CV Communications highly. read more

Victor is a very nice and kind-hearted man, but this is review is due to the fact that it took Victor almost 3 months to repair my MacBook Air. He's not the most communicative and accountable with deadlines. He says he will contact you in 3 days, then a week goes by without contact and I'll have to be the one to call. Going back to the communication again, I did find some of our conversations suspicious. Not knowing much about laptops and tech, I just went along with the conversation to get matters done with. He tells me that the issue with the laptop is to replace a part in which I cooperate with him to purchasing. Then once I am ready to pay and pick up, he adds another issue with the battery not working anymore. I wanted to inquire about it more but it didn't seem like a conversation that he wanted to have so I let it go and moved on. I would suggest looking elsewhere for laptop fixes! read more

My phone wasn't charging and T-Mobile couldn't do anything to repair it, but they referred me here. I brought it in at 5:30 on a weekday and Victor stayed late to make sure he got it back to me that day. Even though normal repair time takes 2 hours he rushed it for me and did it in 1.5. I brought my phone here with water damage so bad, it was practically a black screen. I didn't expect much, and planned to replace the whole screen. He was so honest and straight forward. He reccomend he take it apart and clean it, and go from there. Once he was done, my phone was up and running. At first, I doubted if it worked really well, because the first day there were occasional glitches. When I called him, he said to give it time, and it may work itself out. Every now and then I like to take my freak level up a notch and watch and/or record a porn on my laptop. All my dreams of an AVN Award (Google it) were dashed when my laptop crashed and some of us know how hard it is to record and perform your Freaky Tales with your cell phone, no matter how "smart" you think it is. Victor, one of the Owner/Operators of CV Communications put my mind at ease when he assured me he would do everything within his power to get my lap top back on the block. I was DELIGHTED! His services are reasonably priced and done within a timely manner. The shop is easy to locate, small and a Nerd's wet dream but that means little to me. My guy! My galaxy s7 screen randomly went black. Couldn't see a thing but everything else worked perfectly fine.Unfortunately my contacts and pics weren't backed up so everything was gone when I switched to a new phone. After visiting several metro(old phone carrier)and several t-mobiles (new phone carrier) stores I was told there was nothing I could do. Fast forward to me googling and finding this place. In the past I had sold him some of my old phones for parts but I guess I simply underestimated him because when I called inquiring I didn't really think I would find a solution. Guy is totally unorganized. Drops pieces on the floor. Forgot to order certain parts for my phone. Doesn't call when parts arrive. Both front and back on my phone were cracked. He hands me back my fixed phone and the whole front is still cracked. He said oh I thought I replaced that already. Dipshit. Evertime I had to bring my phone back he broke something else inside of it. Now my earpiece speaker doesn't work and my squeeze sensors don't work. Said it was more complicated than he expected. Nothing but excuses. Woulda been cheaper for me to buy a new phone off eBay in the first place. read more

I had a WONDERFUL experience with CV Communication today, and am SO GRATEFUL to the kind, helpful and professional gentleman who helped me today. I am a 35 year old law student with two weeks left of classes before exams. ALL of my notes for the entire semester were saved to the hard drive of my laptop (which I bought new six months ago). I thought I had backed up the files, but hadn't, and when my computer would not turn on this afternoon I completely freaked out. I was full on hysterical crying - I can't explain how difficult it would be for me to perform well on my exams without these notes. I called Hewlett Packard and they couldn't help me. My husband saw my panic and tears and started calling the local computer repair shops (mind you, this was at 3:15 on Saturday during the COVID pandemic). One of the nearby computer shops in Berkeley couldn't help, but they referred us to CV Communication in Pinole. My husband called CV, and the gentleman there said he could look at my computer right away but that they close at 4pm. I jumped in my car and was there by 3:30. The gentleman in the store stayed at least six feet away (per COVID social distancing) and asked me what happened. I told him the issue, and he asked for my phone number and said to leave the computer on the counter and go wait in my car - he'd call me when he was done. I went in my car and waited. At about 4:15 (after he was supposed to close so that he could get to his second job on time), the gentleman came out and said that it was ready - HE HAD FIXED MY COMPUTER!!! I could have hugged him - I was SO relieved!! The fee he charged was reasonable, and I left with a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. I'm sorry to have made him late, but am very thankful that he was able to help. CV Communications really saved the day for me, and I highly recommend going there for prompt and professional service from someone who is obviously a very kind soul. - My complaint is for the attention received. - a very bad tempered, aggressive and not very patient person, it seems lousy to me that someone who lives off his clients is not kind - I Take an external memory to retrieve my information, after calling many times he told me that it was ready, when I will pick it up the first time, the power cord was not the correct one, the second time he changed the case but the memory no longer worked , He charge me $ 65 and he did absolutely nothing - In conclusion this guy stole my money and never repair anything, waste my time and my money, be careful. read more

I have a MacBook Air that would not turn on due to water damage. The Apple store said I needed a logic board and it would cost $600 to repair. Victor the owner of CV Communications is beyond helpful. My desktop crashed and he was able to retrieve all of my files off of the computer and back it up to a portable hard drive for a very reasonable price. Once I got home the hard drive didn't power on, I called Victor and he told me to come back to CV Communication. Once I arrived he started working on the hard drive and immediately got it up and running. He then checked to make sure it worked on my laptop and all my files where there. Victor even showed me how to reformat the hard drive so I can use it for other things. Victor is a very down to earth and respectful guy with good customer service skills. His repairs are so unprofessional, I'm talking about potato chip grease and pieces under screens of so called "replaced" iPad screens. After waiting all day for this other guy to call me with a price, I was desperate to find someone to look at my overheating laptop. It's hard not having your computer! I called CV Communication and Victor gave me an estimate and told me to bring it in. I got there around 4:30 or so. It was already late in the day but within a few hours , same day mind you, Victor calls to let me know it's ready to come home! He could have charged me for a new fan but no, he cleaned it up, dusted it, took care of a few issues and Voila!! Honest, timely and fair! Total fan! Can't get better than that! read more

Terrible quality, lack of skill, bad decision making, too much talking, not enough actions toward resolution. I've had two phones with broken screens "fixed" here. The first iphone had to be fixed 3 times @ $100/piece all in short period of time. I was putting it in my back pocket a lot, but now that I think about it...it probably wasn't all my fault, rather the crappy bargain Chinese eBay screens Victor admitted he uses. At the end of the day, after a fourth breakage, and hundreds of dollars later I got a new iphone. This one has remained intact with all the same abuse. This review comes now due to an issue with my wife's IPhone 6 getting a new screen. On day one after being handed the "fixed" phone we noticed it had lines in the screen so Victor had to start all over on it right there. Which he did, using the same screen assembly since he had run out of these premade no-warranty screen assemblies. Not ideal. He doesn't stock enough of these which causes all kinds of problems for customers. During removal a betting person would believe something happened regarding the lamination of the screen, but I'll come back to this. So using the same screen he tinkered with it, got it to work, many hours later I was able to get the phone, he said it should be good but he'll give us a two-week warranty!!!! "What?",I thought, but whatever I went on with my day. Normally apparently no warranty whatsoever on parts or labor from CV. So it worked fine for the first week, then the second week the lines in the screen reappeared and the screen started separating from the phone body and delaminating from the base its glued to, he agreed the de-lamination wasn't us, but still wouldn't do anything about supporting it. He said I should've brought it back a day or two after he gave it to me so that he could send it back, but it still worked the first 5 days. He offered to do the labor for free but charge $50 for a new screen. We said fine but he didn't have any screens in stock again, so we had to wait for 4 more days, today I called him because the four days are up, but he said the screens he got were junk (red flag) and that it would be another four days for him to get new ones. He also informs me that the price went up to 90 or $100 for just the screen and that if I didn't believe him I could check eBay. I described to him that this was unacceptable and that none of it seemed right to me. He said this was all he could do. Ticked off, I called JF Computer and IPhone in El Cerrito, they answered quickly, sounded competent, have plenty of screens in stock, do the work in 25 minutes, provide screen protector, etc for $130. So we're just going to do that. Never will go back to Victor, I wish him luck, he just doesn't know what it takes to make a good business I think. You can't provide cheap crappy parts, profit from them a majority of the time, and not back them up and support them when customers experience problems. Not happy with Victor at all. So went to JF, Jorge showed us there were pieces not lined up and missing from inside the phone that hold the camera and center the screen thing. He also showed us how the bezel which was coming apart was barely glued together by Victors supplier, and he described that the screen looked poor quality due to color variation in the screen. Apparently good quality ones are very consistent. JF offers 60 day warranty on a first time fix. Since this one had been "repaired" previously he offers a 30 day warranty. Which is the way it should be. I'm sold. Quality matters Victor, and backing it up is mandatory. The JF screen came out perfect. No bs, stories or delays. Just go there. read more

This company bought a phone from me on ebay, switched the screen and then returned a broken phone to me. I have filed a complaint with ebay and may have to open a case of mail fraud against them. Just know if they have fixed your device it may be with stolen merchandise. read more
