I have in the past posted a very negative review, which I feel was warranted for the situation. However, I am giving these guys a second chance for MY CONVENIENCE. I am truly hoping they pull through.
I had an incident less than a year ago where I paid money for some fairly shoddy service, but many of the people I have dealt with were alright. The main person I had an issue with last time is no longer there and I notice the few cordial and complying employees are STILL there. The employees that are still there are obviously there for a reason and it is their intention to assist. I believe they remember my situation last time and knew they needed to step up to the plate in honoring a promise they made me, although they did not document it in their records.
When my old computer was running slowly and was repaired by installing new parts and then getting a virus (and finding the employees reading the content on my computer) I had already paid for the virus removal and new parts. Upon the computer crashing, I was told that they could not reimburse me the money I paid for the virus removal or new parts (plus my computer was cracked when I picked it up and not when I brought it in), I was told that I could apply the money I paid toward the purchase of a new computer. My son had given me his old Apple Computer and they could not transfer the information from my old computer onto the new Apple, so they told me I could utilize the costs on any other Windows computer I had an issue with. This was less than a year ago.
Today I brought my computer in, along with all my receipts and told them I could not access the internet. Dan, one of the employees that I have worked with in the past, told me there was a virus. He informed me it would cost me $149 to have the virus removed. I explained the previous situation and presented all of the receipts, etc. Sadly, the last employee that told me that I apply the money toward service on another computer, had not put that pertinent information in the "notes". Dan remembered me from my visit 10 months ago and called his supervisor over to explain the situation. Both Dan and his Supervisor have been a few of the knowledgeable employees I have dealt with and they were willing to honor the promise that had been made to me previously in removing the virus on this other Windows system Computer.
Dan did make it a point this time to notate the condition of the computer and explain that removing the virus could take some time. I have not gotten the computer back, but being that it has had very minimal usage and has very little information on it, I don't believe that there should be anything else wrong with it aside from the virus which was found immediately.
I am upping my rating from a 1 to a 3 because I know that Dan has really wanted to do what he knows is right. Whether or not I get the computer back in working condition is yet to be seen, but the fact that they were honorable deserves kudos!!! I am hoping a follow-up review will rank them a 4 or 5. read more
