I know sometimes the service can be slow, but I wanted to say Tim who helped me upgrade my iPhone was super helpful and knowledgeable. While my I had to wait for some data transfer to be done and he start helping another elderly customer and I also noticed that he was very patient and took his time explaining everything to the gentleman. While he was helping the gentleman, he still checking on my status. He also followed up on some calls as he promised. I had some business cards made and transferred from the Fremont store to Menlo. My name was mis-spelled. On the 2nd visit the name was corrected but they lost my $10-for-250-cards coupon. I do like to visit small-time stationers when I can, but for the selection for an all-in-one printer-scanner-copier close to home, I popped in here and found more than 20 and all the help I could ask for. Two salesmen went over ink, whether I really needed fax, ease of installation, wifi, and more. I walked out with one for $50 and they carried it out to my car. Very nice service. They even talked me out of getting an external CD drive for my netbook, telling me I could download the drivers no problem (and they were right). I had it all installed with my wireless and tested and printing and copying in under an hour. Woot! read more

I've been here a bunch of times, and they're never too busy (except the Friday before back to school). I usually come to drop off packages for UPS and the guys behind the copy center are nice and accommodating when I ask for a receipt (for the drop-off). Waited all day for delivery of office furniture. Called at 8:00 in the morning and they said that I just had to wait all day until the delivery comes. It is now 7:45 at night and the guy rolls up. I come here frequently as it's the closest supply store to my office. I have always had a positive experience here. The staff is extremely attentive and always goes the extra mile to help me out. They have lead me to the right products, found overstock in the back of the store, tested out products with me, and even sat down with me to search online for things they didn't have in store. I was really disappointed with the manager Carlos's service. I bought a modem/router made by Motorola and it died after having it for less than two years. I had bought a year warranty but the two year option was not available at that time. They refused to do anything to help me out and I had paid good money for the modem and warranty. It was such a disappointment that I will not go back to staples again. I was hoping to at least get a few more years out of the modem but if staples plans to continue to sell defective products then I might as well risk spending my money elsewhere. read more

Today I went into Staples to get business cards and brochures made for my company. The people in the copy and print center are more than helpful, patient and friendly. The service was so good that I decided to bring in some food for the girl that helped me. To drop the food off quickly I parked in front where there was commercial vehicle loading and as I came back in I was "greeted" by one of their employees, Richard, who said nothing but "just as a reference boss that's handicapped parking" I said thanks and walked over to the copy and print center to give show my gratitude. I was in and out and the rudeness of the employee there made me call the store back. I spoke with the manager, Andrew, who really didn't take my complaint seriously. I had a marvelous experience at Staples in Menlo Park. The staff was extremely helpful. My printer was on the fritz so I headed to Staples to buy a replacement. When I looked confused with their myriad of printers, they recommended one to me, pulled the printer ink off the shelf and even carried the printer to my car. It was such excellent customer service and my new printer is terrific. While at Staples I was impressed with another service they offer. They photocopy at a cheaper price than Kinko's and offer to photocopy for you. Just drop off your job, shop for other stationery supplies and pick up your completed print job. I was so impressed with the service at Staples. I am definitely making that my "go to" stationery supply store. read more

Used to be my go to place for printing and office supplies for 3 years, but this year has been awful. They have all new staff, the old staff used to be really friendly and helpful, now they don't even know what they're doing and are condescending. There now is a surcharge for printing done the same day, which is ok because it's a new thing for all the staples, but when I asked how much it was, the printing staff member took 10 minutes asking me how many impressions it was, which I answered. But then he kept asking the same question, because he didn't understand the difference between impressions and different files. In the end he didn't even give me a quote. I went to another staples and printed some stuff (which the staff helped me through the steps on self print machines) and decided to give this place another try. I was refused for my own paper, on which the sign said to ask for help with my own paper, but nope, they just straight out said no. They didn't even ask if they can help with anything. I don't understand how they train their new staff, but it seems like they don't understand a lot of things. read more

This is the worst store I have ever been to. I had to return a product here since it wasn't compatible and the cashier "Jennifer" was kind of mean towards me she refused to take the item back even though it was under 14 days return period. She infact called her store manager " Eric" and he even told the same thing that he can't take it back since it's opened. Wait a minute it doesn't make any sense to me how can you be satisfied with a product or test any item without opening it. The manager seemed to be a white person, bald more like a Italian person how can they make their own rules you should abide by the Corporate rules I'm sure there is a certain protocol that you should follow. This particular incident happened on November 27th, 2019 around 7:20 PM I was shocked to see that being a Manager you spoke to me in this manner. Please try to avoid this location if you can you would be totally disappointed. Mr "Eric" you are such a disgrace to the Staples corporation you should better stop working for Staples if you don't know how to treat your customer's. This review is concerning the photo print center. Completely incompetent staff and dismal customer service. I ordered 100 postcards (double sided) from the website and went to this staples store for pick up. Our faces in the picture turned out too red, half of the borders were crooked, and the postcard portion (on the other side) was cut off. I let the technician know and he didn't seem to know how to fix it. I had to drive back to the store two more times with the same crooked borders issue and had to deal with the same technician once more. He really had no idea how to do his job. I finally just asked for a return, but, unsurprisingly, he did not know how to process a return and informed me a manager will take care of it the next day. One week passed and still didn't see the refund on my credit card statement. I called the store and they told me I had to come in person to get the refund (are you joking with me?). I ended up calling staples help center (from their website) Print & Marketing Services and Jennifer Reehill (a Customer Service Representative) was able to resolve the problem quickly. She was able to refund the full amount back to me over the phone. Currently: waiting for the refund to show up on my credit card statement. She said it would take 3-5 business days for it to show up. We shall see.... 8/1/17 update: Checked my cc statement over the weekend and was pleased to see that Staples processed a full refund back to me. read more

This review is for printing services. I came in to place an order for 8 color prints and was promised them at about 24-26 dollars and told to email them with the image I wanted printed, and that they would be ready by 6PM, a few days later. I showed up the day they were supposed to be ready, AFTER 6, and they had only one print ( I ordered 8) available in a more expensive print type than I had ordered. The employees provided bad customer service and they didn't really apologize, rather just looking at me helplessly. They told me to call back the next morning after 8am to deal with it; they couldn't even fix it then. I was promised that I could talk to the appropriate person the next morning though. If I called after 8, I was told, they would definitely be available. I called the next day at 8 and guess what? The person I needed to talk to wasn't there- they were on their "lunch" at 8 AM! I eventually got the prints, barely in time for me to make my trip, and I was given a discount but only enough to match the price of what I had actually ordered, nothing for my inconvenience. If this were all an honest mistake I would have been accepting, but throughout the employees acted apathetic despite their failure to give me what I ordered or when they had promised it to me. read more

I called to ask if they carry privacy screens for laptops. I asked the person who picked up, who said she would check. After literally over five minutes on hold, a second associate picked up the phone and asked how he could help. I repeated the question. A few more minutes on hold later the same associate picked up and said they have a privacy screen I can cut to fit my laptop screen. Great. I drive over. When I show up I'm told by a different associate that they do not carry privacy screens. I don't hold Staples to a super high standard when it comes to client service, but this incompetence is disappointing. read more

This morning I ordered an office chair which the staff pomised would be assembled and ready for pick up at 2pm. I arrived at the store at 3pm and the chair still had not been assembled. This was surprising due to the large amount of staff who were working this morning. I spoke with Shannon who is the Manager and she told me to just wait 20 minutes. My schedule did not permit staying at the store for another 20 minutes. I asked if it could be delivered and she said no. I understand that things happen but the manager showed absolutely NO EMPATHY. I am a local business who shops at Staples frequently but I will think twice next time I need supplies. The manager needs to go to a customer service training class! read more

Just went to this store to pick up a few items. Saw a ream of paper advertised for $3 "after easy rebate.". To me, easy rebate means little if anything required on my part to get it. At the counter there is no rebate taken. I ask about this and am told " you'll get the information with the receipt and have to mail in or go online. That's what a rebate is." Though I don't consider having to go online for a $4.50 rebate "easy", I was okay until the clerks last comment. He would have been better to say something like " that's how this rebate works.". The employees are very friendly and know where everything is. This store is great. The cool thing is they fix iphone screens for the 5,6,6s and the 6+ they also can replace the battery for the list phones above. They also sell a screen protector for your phone called Liquid Armor which adheres to the screen and makes the screen stronger (they will put it on for free when purchased.) If you can't find the product your looking for they will offer to order it for you and a bonus it is free shipping when ordering in the store. If you ever need service for your computer, bring it here. My coworker's computer was getting all this ads etc... I'm not an IT person so I took it in. The IT guys were really nice. They found couple hundreds of viruses in the computer. The charge was reasonable. I dropped the computer off Friday and Tuesday, it was ready as promised. Now my machine has no problem! Been here more than a few times and that will be my last. This is the second time they don't ask for my Staples reward card (shouldn't they ask me at the BEGINNING of the transaction?) In this second case, they never asked and it's almost like they want to charge you the higher rate on each of their products. Or the people are too tired and stupid as it gets closer to closing time. The lady that helped us tonight didn't even say Hello and then rang up all the items and said "that's it???" and then I brought up my rewards card and she said sorry you had to tell me before we rang everything up and then handed me the receipt. I only give 2 stars kuz at least the prints they do there are good quality. BUT customer service SUCKS!! came down here twice to get some prints made for my artwork and got the worst experience I could've gotten. I came last month to get some done and dude wouldn't refund me for all the mess ups and didn't help me operate the copy machine. Came in yesterday last minute to make some prints for an art show I have this evening and small dude at the copy print center was so rude ! He kept rolling his eyes and even had audacity to laugh at my disappointed experience , wouldn't assist or help, just half assed did his job , had another guy come do the job for him so big kudos to that guy !! Machine broke down and I couldn't get my prints done and he refused to do them for me because of other projects ahead of mine which I understand buy really ? It wouldn't even had taken that long. Ordinarily I wouldn't write a review for a big chain store, but this one is different. I happened to go in a few weeks ago to buy ink for my dad who lives in Palo Alto and decided to ask about a phone since I was thinking of finally upgrading to a smartphone and needed one for my daughter as well. The assistant store manager Emil was so helpful (and offered me such a good deal) that I decided to make an appointment to return the following week. There is a Staples store in our neighborhood, but I decided to drive the extra 20 minutes to this location because I felt that I would get better service. I was definitely right. When I returned, Emil couldn't have been nicer, he spent a lot of time with me answering questions and clarifying all my options. When there was a problem with Verizon and the plan I wanted, Emil spent time going through customer service reps, to make sure I got what I wanted and that it was done correctly. It was the kind of personal service you just don't see anywhere anymore. I have since been back to have a computer virus removed and Ron, the senior tech was also extremely helpful. Eric, another of the techs there is great too. All in all, they're just a nice bunch of guys. This store is actually hard to find, I've passed it a few times and didn't even know it was there. Because of that, it's generally not too crowded which may not be so great for the store, but nice for the customers. Seriously, if you want personal customer service, do yourself a favor, even if it's out of your way and make this your store. Look for the Big 5 sign in the driveway on the east side of El Camino and parking is easy in back. read more
