My mom is a frequent customer at Staples, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I called ahead on Friday to confirm store hours and ask about dropping off her computer for service since it had been hacked. I was clearly told that no appointment was needed and I could simply bring it in. Based on that, we made the trip to the store, only to be told there was no tech person on site. We were then advised to come back the next day because a service ticket would need to be opened and it "wouldn't be good" to leave the computer overnight. When we asked what time the technician would be available, the associate didn't have a clear answer and had to check their phone, eventually saying "around 11am to maybe 7pm." There was no clear communication, no consistency, and no real attempt to be helpful. It ended up being a complete waste of time. (I am a 57-yo white man). Alexander is African American. "Can I help you?" "Yes. Please. I would like to order business cards". "What type?" "I don't know. I haven't had business cards in over 30'years. Could you show me templates?" By now, I could tell that he was starting to get annoyed and behind me was a very attractive, I assume, Puerto Rican lady. He was looking at her. "I don't have time for that. You need to call someone." "I need to call someone? YOU call someone for me". He was annoyed (and so was I) and by now there was yet another lady behind me, African American as well. I had not thought much about his coldness, his dismissiveness, or his obvious displeasure. But... we all have bad days. That doesn't warrant a Yelp review. Sans, a funky young artist, came and helped me with templates and designs for over one hour. In that time, Alexander helped the Puerto Rican lady and another two African American ladies. He joked with all them, smiled shining, was extremely cooperative and as ugly as it is, I thought... STAPLES in Larchmont is the WORST! So this is the first bad public review I've ever written but I'm absolutely disgusted by their actions tonight. I brought in Amazon returns ('tis the season, right?) and my dad came with me with some packages too. Mind you, we are two separate households. We had 18 returns which I painstakingly packed and labeled to facilitate a quick and painless trip. We put all of our packages in 2 separate carts, walked into the store and were told "we have a limit of 5 returns per person because we don't have a lot of labels". Yes, I complained a little because it's raining and we went through the trouble of getting everything there and bringing it all in. But whatever. So we go towards the counter (there is no one else in line) and I said to my dad "ok I guess I'll do 5 and you can do 5". I get to package 4 (now there is only 1 very nice lady behind us in line) and I hear the cashier say "I'm on 4"...presumably into his headphones. Then he says "you only have one more" and I reply "ok yes, but then he's got 5", nodding toward my dad. Then I hear him say "I need some help here" and he calls the manager. She comes over and gives me the limit-of-5 spiel again and I say "I know that. So I've got one more and then my dad has 5." To which she replied "no you can only do 5." So I say "it's 5 per person. We're 2 separate households. We don't live together. We just came together." And she doesn't want to hear it. Then the original guy says "oh but when you came in the door and I said 5 per person you said you'd take 5 and he'd take 5." I said "yes, exactly...because we're 2 separate households. Do you want to see our licenses?" This went back and forth a few rounds and they wouldn't have it. So because I drove with my dad since I didn't want him driving in the dark while it's raining, they wouldn't let him return anything! A 78 year old man! They should be ashamed. This is a disgrace. I would never treat anyone in such a way, especially an elderly person and I hope no one else does either. And the woman behind us who had to wait through all this...bless her heart...she said she had more than 5 too. While we walked out my dad turned to the cashier and said "just return all her packages." Why would you reserve labels for people who you don't even know are coming?? It just blew my mind. Anyhow...just a heads up if you need to return 6 Amazon packages...Larchmont Staples will just make you go home after 5. Don't waste your time. Just go somewhere else. read more

I've been working from home since the pandemic and have limited services at my home. This is my home away from home as it relates to work for scanning and emailing and everything in between customer service is always terrific here and folks are always happy to help you if you don't know how to use the machines or if you have a glitch and I recommend you going there and giving them some business - it's a good store. read more

Ordered a document to be print and bound by this staples, which cost $100. The pages were numbered, but they still bound them in the wrong order. When I went to have it corrected and rebound, the staff didn't apologize or offer any kind of discount. Won't be returning here. read more

I have used this staples for several years now and I drive out of my way to go to it over any other. The customer service there is FANTASTIC. People are helpful and will seek out advice from another staff member if needed to answer myquestions. I use their printing area and have used both the self print option from my ipad...which was a little confusing but worked out really well... I have also just emailed various print jobs directly to them and they always do a wonderful job and I picked up my materials all organized in a box. I also have ordered products at the store with their assistance to be shipped to my house. I strongly recommend this location. read more

If you've generally been to one Staples, you've basically been to them all. There's very little difference in stores aside from who works there and how they do their job. This Staples has the same layout and same (over) pricing as all their other locations. Most things were stocked neatly and pretty much everything I needed is exactly where it would be. The one thing about Staples I like is that no matter how many locations you go to, pretty much the format is the exact same - which isn't the case with a lot of other chain retailers. Of course Staples is pricey. I won't ever buy from this company unless I'm lazy, desperate, or just for convenience. Most of what they stock can be found cheaper elsewhere or online. I don't use Staples printing or copy area, so I can't comment on their prices or ways with that. I saw the other reviews about this place and the customer service - and I myself have had the garbage customer service experience at Staples, but not at this location. The one employee on the floor was courteous and friendly. The cashier was actually pleasant and friendly. Maybe I was there on an off night or maybe it's not as bad as people have claimed. This is a Staples I don't normally go to, so I can only speak for myself. I despise crappy customer service and always point it out, but there was none of that here the night I was at this location. The parking lot is terrible. Staples shares this lot with other businesses - notably CVS and Mrs. Greens. It's a badly formatted lot and almost a hassle to get in and out during a busy time (I have been in this lot several times before). So if you're coming here, use caution because there are plenty of idiots who have licenses who can't drive/park to save their lives. None of this is Staples' fault, but it's worth mentioning to anyone who hasn't been here before. So overall an average Staples which should have pretty much what you're looking for....in a Staples. read more

Oddly dark and dirty. Maybe it's the excessive black scuff marks on the linoleum that make it seem dark, or insufficient light that makes the floor seem dirtier than it is, but either way, there's a slightly cave-like feel to this Staples. Other than that, it's a Staples. Same selection as all other Staples, though i've never before seen a sticker like the one on the door here assuring customers that all employees had thorough background checks to ensure good customer service. read more

Wish there was a no star option.. My rating is 5 thumbs down!! This STAPLES should close for good. EMPLOYEES dont like customers, nasty attitude. My experience on 3 occasions was horrible. I went in to purchase a wireless keyboard and asked for a manager. I pointed to the one I wanted and asked him if it would work, he said NO. I thought it would work and asked him if it didn't could I return it. He said, in an arrogant tone, I guarantee you if you buy it you will be returning it, it will not work, so don't bother. I did purchase it and it works perfectly as I thought. Why would a manager be so arrogant with a customer. I don't know his name, but he looked 30 something, black slicked hair with an unattractive cocky, arrogant personality. I sent a relative in to laminate (60) 3x5 pictures at the copy center. We were told the lamination would cost 2.79 per picture plus 1.00 to cut them, for a total of 3.79 each, total 227.40 plus tax! I contacted my local minuteman press print shop (support the return of small businesses) and was told bring them in, we will do them right away for .50 cents each for a total of 30.00 for all 60. Nearly a $200 dollar difference!!!!! My point is the employees at this location do not have the customer in mind, they are not courteous, they are not motivated to work in a professional manner and they will rip you off at every opportunity. The lazy "dont bother me attitude" is pathetic. How could a national chain operate in such a failed manner? No wonder they announced last week they are closing 225 stores. Management all the way down the ranks has failed miserably!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP HERE , I WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORK TO ANYONE I KNOW NOT TO SHOP HERE... Just awful customer service. Non existent. Finally walked out after no one in the copy center could or would help me. Actually called a local business while I was standing there to ask them if they could do the job. They said "come now" so I did. And they did it on the spot, correctly, and cheaply. And they smiled and made eye contact and didn't take people who were behind me in line first. It was a simple job -- making several copies of a packet. And yet..... Never again. read more

I've never shopped in a store where the employees actually go out of their way to NOT offer customer service. Gave this store a try several times and will not return. Today, after tracking an employee down to ask to see an iPad keyboard/cover (meaning, I was hoping to see the item outside of the clear security box to determine if I would be able to type on it) The employee actually held up the security package and said "see" (and he wasn't joking). This store doesn't pick up the phone. How do you expect to have sales when you don't serve existing and prospective customers?

I've been to this Staples location several times before but after this last visit, I'll go elsewhere. The last time I visited, I was greeted by an employee that was violently gathering carts together in the parking lot. By gathering, I mean he was VIOLENTLY shoving one cart into a stack of other carts. The interior was mostly the same as other Staples' except the lighting seemed dimmer and it was a bit more disorganized than I would expect. The customer service was DISMAL!!! I went to checkout and the woman behind the counter immediately left to talk to another cashier. I turned around and asked, "Are you open?" She looked at me like I was an idiot and said "yes" then returned to the counter I stood at and promptly began to do other things, instead of ringing up my purchase. Finally, as I was purchasing tax software, she had to call a manager to get the product. That took way longer than it should have and it turned out that the employee that was slamming carts in the parking lot was the manager! As we waited for the manager to return with my TurboTax, I asked the cashier about the rebate with the software and the ink recycling program. She was clearly annoyed with me. I was able to see her name badge and at the end of our transaction, she covered her name badge with her arm - a very strange posture. I asked her name, and she mumbled it. Wow! First and last time in this Staples. A staff member left me waiting ten minutes to find out if the product I was looking for was in stock. I finally went looking for him, he was with another customer. He forgot to come back to me but told me that the product was out of stock. I try to purchase most of my supplies online, but when a toner cartridge runs out and or I need just one more ream of paper to finish a job on deadline, I will venture to this store. I have become accustomed to the fact the prices at THIS store are typically 2-10% higher than the online Staples prices. And, sometimes, I found that the prices at the register were higher the shelf tags. Although when I needed something when I was in Manhattan, the online prices and in-store prices were always the same. But today was different. I went in to buy a case of Hammermill Copy Plus Copy Paper, 8 1/2 x 11". Originally, $55.99 but with an "instant discount" of $27.00 making the price $28.99. Per Staples online! At the store register, the clerk rang up $57.99 for the paper. When I mentioned the "Instant Discount", he said that was an Instant mail in rebate that would be on the register tape. When I mentioned that $57.99 was also $2.00 above the regular retail price online, he just shrugged and remarked that sometimes the online prices and the store prices are different. I have sent this message to Staples, but I will definitely not return to this store again, even though it is very convenient. And, I will find another online supplier as well. I hope that others who have experienced the same situation at this store will also just leave their planned purchase at the register and go shop elsewhere. read more

Rude employees and unprofessional management. I needed a small print job--I dropped it off Sunday afternoon and finally asked for my money back on Wednesday night. it was done incorrectly twice, then left undone a third time for eight hours. When I asked for the manager (the employee told me she was "too busy" to be bothered), he suggested I go home and come back later. I went to FedEx Printing in Scarsdale, and they did the entire job in 40 minutes--professionally and politely. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience ever in the copy and Print Services section of this store. I had ten copies of a plan to scan and I was told to make the payment and pick up the hard copies in two hours and that the soft copy would be emailed to me at that time. I come back about three hours later and am told the job is not ready and to come back tomorrow. I said I don't mind waiting as I just drove to the Bronx and back to pick up the job. The attendant tells me she has other jobs to do and the customers are waiting. I make her understand I was here before the other customers and had waited to be attended to when I came in the second time. She walks away and comes back with a supervisor who tells me to wait or come back tomorrow. I said I don't mind waiting but I need to know how long I have to wait. She says I may have to wait till they close but she still guarantee the job will be done today. It was 5:55 p.m. and the store closes at 9 p.m. I asked for my hard copies and walked away. On hold for 15 minutes and counting..not very good customer service to be on hold for so long and no one checks back in to tell me if the item is in the store.
