I visited this location to drop off an Amazon return. I was met with the stores general manager, Maria. Maria has the nastiest condescending attitude. I'm not sure how someone with her attitude is managing a team. When I arrived, Before I said a word, she mentioned I could not return my pillows because they were too large for the box she has. The pillows are fluffy and feather pillows so clearly they can be pushed down to fit in a box. She didn't attempt to try. I mentioned I'd call Amazon to see what other options are available for me to drop off at this location and she even went on to say "I don't work for Amazon; I do this all day and I don't need to try. It won't fit. " She went on to talk under her breath walking around the store being super unhelpful. When I spoke to Amazon rep she mentioned there's no way Maria should've refused my drop off and they provide them with multiple boxes for larger items. In short, I had to leave with the pillows and she was still being rude and combative as I walked away. This woman is terrible and I now understand why they have the reviews they do. read more

Ignore the negative reviews about this location...it is actually a trustworthy, neighborhood Staples. Whatever you need for your office is here. I come in all of the time for printing. If you use their computers you'll have to pay per minute plus printing, which will cost you both more money and more time. However, if you send your files to staples@printme.com in advance, then you can print directly from their printers and only pay for the pages you print. It's fast and easy. I drop off all of my UPS packages here and they always make it to the recipient with no issues. The staff is helpful and can provide tape and scissors when needed for your package - a lot more convenient than going to the post office. read more

The cashier and the managers at this location did not even care to be helpful, even the bare minimum was too much for them to handle. It's a Staples that looks like any other one. However, I wasn't here to shop. I was here to drop off an Amazon return through their UPS service. The staff helped me tape up my package properly and even reminded me to include part of the return slip in the box (great catch!). After affixing the label to the box, I got my receipt and was out in five minutes. I do not recall his name but he had a distinctive arm tattoo that had puzzle pieces. I came here because the google maps took me to an Office Max that was permanently closed. I was happy this place was nearby and was able to find everything I needed fairly quickly. I encountered 3 employees. 1 walking by who didn't smile or say hello, 1 stocking shelves who did smile and help me find the index cards I was looking for. I was really awed by the young lady cashier who didn't say hello, didn't tell me total and just looked at me, (at this point I thought maybe she was a mute after ignoring my hello and not telling me my total) but she did ask if I needed a bag. How awkward is it as a customer with a smile on my face to be ignored by every almost employee I encountered at this store. You guys need to do better. Went to this staples on my lunch break to return a package should've taken no more then like 10 minutes seeing as there was only one lady in line ahead of me shipping a package. I stood there for about 5 minutes (James) finally looked up from his phone and said do you need help I stated I'm sending out a return he told me the guy (doug) that was already helping the lady ahead of me would take care of it and went back to playing on his phone. After about 10 to 15minutes Doug while finishing up with one customer logged on to a second computer to help me. I feel bad for Doug seems like he does all the work and James is useless! My boyfriend and I went to this Staples in search of an office chair. Boyfriend needed something with good lumbar support, as his back has a tendency to go out. We had found the perfect chair at the Staples in Norwood (the one in the Job Lot Plaza), but they did not have it in stock, only on display. The cashier looked on the computer and told us that the Staples in Dedham had it, so off we went. However, when we got there (after we hunted down someone to help us) we were told they did not, in fact, have what we were looking for. Luckily, Boyfriend had found a second chair he figured he would live with. Less back support, but still workable. We knew they had it in stock because we could see the box stored on one of their high shelves, over the chair display. When we asked for that one instead the kid who was helping us asked Boyfriend to get it down. The kid told us he was too short and I guess they don't have ladders or stools or taller cashiers or anything he could use to reach that high. So, Boyfriend had to reach up and haul the box off the high shelf and then lug the box to the register. My two biggest issues were these: The system that tracks in-store stock is pretty crappy. We wasted a trip, which is a pain. And the kid who helped us at the second store was useless and unprofessional. read more

I am writing this while I am still awaiting for my order, but the representative at the printing department at Staples in Dedham really has her act together and had no problems answering my questions or asking questions on the services I needed. First time I had no issues at a Staples in quite a long time. I even added a couple of things to the order that will be available one day later and that was accommodated over the phone without a problem. The speed at which the service was provided was excellent in the store and even n receiving the products tomorrow. A lot better than some private company sole doing printing that would not provide expedited Service as if I was not important as a customer. To make a long story short, my boyfriend was looking at the Microsoft Surface and although they were sold out, they had an open-box deal. Which they lied to us about. 1) it wasn't a return, it was a display piece. 2) it is NOT version 2- it's actually version 1 3) when boyfriend pointed out the scratches and dents on it, they denied the imperfections- even when we were both pointing them out. 4) employees we were talking to repeatedly told us it does not come with a stylus...When it does. I placed an order online for multiple posters for a street theatre demonstration on 7/19. I was notified via email by Staples employee Angel Diaz that these posters violated Staples terms of service and I would be refunded. By 7/25 I was not refunded. As such, I took to Twitter, when I FINALLY received confirmation of my order's cancellation and was told I'd receive a refund. It was processed today, 7/30. This one is okay, small though. I use it when necessary b/c it is near my work. The staff overall has been great. All of these bad reviews are completely ABSURD..... I have always, and will continue, to LOVE the Dedham Staples. The Dedham location is probably the most unique store I have ever been too, and it's definitely for the better. Recently, the store has been renovated and the checkout area is one line, that is clear, not multiples. The staff have always been, and are continuing to be friendly, kind & helpful, as well as always being around the store (and asking if I need any help, which is not common at some other stores). This store is also superior in clearance. I live halfway between this location and the Norwood store, and always choose this one when I want to find clearance items (Otherwise, I switch off, unless it's rush hour, which I wouldn't ever go into Dedham during... SUPER congested). Anyway, speaking of the congestion, the entrances to this store are so weird and not great... There is a small entrance on Eastern Avenue, which is sort of the main entrance, leading to the back of the building. There is another entrance on Providence Highway (the Northbound side), past the entire building. Overall, the entire parking lot works and isn't ever crowded, yet it could be confusing and somewhat dangerous. Besides that, there isn't much to this Staples other than this is THE place to go in Dedham for all office supplies, printing / copying, as well as office furniture. Plus, you should know it's a great store and you will be treated with respect. As well as, its location at the Providence Highway & Eastern Avenue intersection. 5 stars. read more

I stopped at Staples for just a few minutes( how I was naively thinking ) to print 2 sheets.u don't want to ask for help -simple as that. All I needed to do just insert a USB memory to the print machine select a payment method and press a button , what would be potentially go wrong?!? ..Usb slot didn't read a card, computer have got updates right that time when I need it, even after.. pages wasn't download and I lost a last chance to get it done without a assistant , (i did not mention that when u get in to the store u automatically would be ignored ) asked for help i been watching a guy who had no clue what to do , he just repeated the same steps that I did early , told me that he will be back in a 5 minutes because has more customers to need to be care about and left .. so did I . read more

Totally ripped off at Staples, and Dedham manager completely unhelpful. i checked out Staples online prices for printing color copies...19 cents for color, picked up at the store.They are so close to my house I decided just to go to the store and wait while they made them there rather than logging in and ordering on line. Very helpful copy center guy printed and stapled them...the bill? $30 for 60 color copies...almost 50 cents a copy. Were there prices visible anywhere? No. The copy center guy (Gene) was very nice and apologetic about not quoting me a price, but the manager (Jeff) rudely blew me off, saying "we don't match online prices." When I mentioned the lack of posted prices, he said "We're not going to put big signs up with our prices." Funny about that... read more

Avoid this place for Printing needs. They don't want to accommodate any requests. We spent over $2000 with them. It took over an hour an a half to get them to ring it in correctly. The after the manager came over I had to come back in the store because she too made mistakes on the order. They applied d the incorrect business discounts. It took two managers to figure out how to change it all while giving an attitude as the line was building up at the printing counter. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra miles to the Norwood location and you will have an excellent experience and save time doing it. read more

I like the floor associates, they are very helpful. (especially the Hispanic lady who always rings me up, unfortunately I did not get her name) What I am here to complain about is the UPS/USPS department. They are extremely slow! (coming from a very patient person) I went in there on 12/28/15 at around 1pm, they had a trainee handling the line. I understand that associates need to be trained, but not when there is a long line. (that is for slower times in the day) It was terrible, and then to top it off I was the next person in line, and the "trainer" decided to ask the second and last person if they have labels and were dropping off packages. So, I guess I'm invisible and can't be seen. (I basically left the line after that and because the trainee was still working on the same lady) Even prior to this situation, the first time I went here to mail things, the woman in the department was slow, and talking on the phone. (I've only tried to mail here twice, and there has always been a slow line) I have learned my lesson not to go here to mail anything. You will literally be standing there all day long. I rather just take the trip to the UPS store on VFW parkway then deal with this department. I believe there should be a new system put into place. I don't think it's okay when there is only one person in front of you, with one package, and you have to wait 30 mins in line. I think that is pretty ridiculous. I gave them two stars because the floor associates are great! But I only started going here because I wanted to be able to get my office supplies while also being able to ship. So because of the lack of convenience, they don't get the other three stars. read more

Every week I get cardstock cut into halves for the company I work for. Last week a woman gave me attitude but redeemed herself toward the end. This week I have never had such awful treatment by an employee. I've never had to measure where to cut the paper (I said in exact halves), and the employee (whatever his name was, had tattoos and dreadlocks for id puposes) was so unbelievably rude he shouldn't work in customer service. He said "I didn't ask what they did last time I'm telling you to mark it" then I asked for another employee to help and he goes "oh so now I cant help you" rudely. Completely unprofessional, I should've reported it to his superior. Not going here again. Hire nicer people. read more

I am very happy with the service I received from Sarah. I needed some copies/printing of cards and signs for my nieces wedding. I went to the store with ideas but not 100% sure exactly how I wanted everything. Sarah was very kind, knowledgeable and patient with me. Sarah showed me everything before printing.I must say I never felt rushed and the department was very busy at this time. I went to Staples on 1/29/2019 to have copies of a program for a funeral, that was taking place on the 31st. The program had 10 pages and it was not done that well. But Sherwin, with the help of Sarah spent a lot of their time on it to get it perfect. They were very pleasant and kind. I suggest if you need a lot of programs done, go to staples in dedham at 450 Providence Highway and see Sherwin or Sarah. It was worth the wait. They deserve a raise. read more

Do not buy a mobile phone from Staples, They do not stand behind the sale. I purchased a smartphone and my mobile plan changes by $25 per month. Initially the mobile dept said they would fix the issue with my carrier but never followed thru. When the store manager got involved he basically said Staples could not help me. So although i bought the phone from Staples they cannot fix any issues (that they created) Bottom-line dont purchase a phone from Staples as they will not help you if you run into an issue. read more

I bought a laminator from this Staples in January. It was a staples brand laminator and after a month of use, it started to become defective. It would only work half the time. Now, it only works if you heat it up, turn it off, let it cool, and then heat it up again. This cycle can happen many times before it starts working. I called Staples to ask if I could exchange my laminator for another Staples laminator. I told them that I didn't have the box anymore as I the laminator worked for the first month, so I discarded it. They told me that without the box, I could not exchange it. I was not asking for my money back. I was not asking for an upgrade. I simply wanted a laminator that worked. Why would you need the box for a product that you cannot resell, as it does not work? I have now wasted $100 of my money. As a teacher, I cannot afford to be losing $100. Obviously, the manager did not care. I will not be returning to this Staples as a customer again. read more
