After speaking with a gregarious (easy to speak with) man on the phone for less than 5 minutes, I knew uBreakiFix was the right place. I dropped in soon after, and the gentleman at the front desk (probably the owner) FIXED my blocked iPhone USB port -- which now works with all peripherals and for charging -- and they did not charge me a dime! Give them a call without hesitation -- no holding; no, "your call is very important to us" B.S. In those precious 5 minutes' time, I felt that the person on the other end of the conversation was knowledgeable technically and able to explain Apple's (probably illegal in the E.U.) restrictions on third-party replacement power port replacement, while empathetic, freely explaining the cumbersome process of having to deal with the Genius Bar post-warranty for my iPhone given Apple's propensity to prevent its customers' Right to Repair. Thank you uBreakiFix, I can use my peripheral hardware now without issue; and it was nice to meet you! I'll let everyone know about ya'! P.S. The man at the front desk is part engineer part detective -- he's not a sales guy, his expertise is not soothing your frustration, it's solving the actual root of the problem: fixing the tech. Today we were bringing in a broke. Device , the guy that tried to help us when we asked simple questions was rude and did not answer our questions correctly. The employee at the front desk had a very nasty attitude when I walked in. I asked for him to check what was wrong with my phone because it wasn't working at all, all he told me was that he checked through a power meter and it pulled no power, which is quite obvious because I told him my phone wasn't working. Didn't actually check what was wrong with my phone instead just said "its just not worth fixing". I highly do not recommend going to this place to get you're device fixed. read more

I've been to this location in the past and had a great experience, but today I had the misfortune of dealing with Patrick. It was clear as soon as he came to the front desk that he had no interest in being there or helping anyone. I started telling him what was wrong and why I was there and he immediately started interrupting me and told me that he couldn't help me, and even if he could that they would have to send off my screen to Google to get it diagnosed and it would take weeks (!?!?!) to get it back. When I asked him about just paying to fix it he told me he couldn't do that. Patrick is the rudest customer service person I've ever had the misfortune to speak with and I have no idea why he would want or be given a job where he has to speak to the public. After this horrible experience I visited the store in Cambridge ( an extra hour round trip for me) and spoke with Will, who was one of the nicest, friendliest, and most helpful people I've ever me, and who diagnosed the faulty screen by actually hooking it up to their diagnostic computer, and offered to fix the screen the same day. read more

I took in to the apple Genius Bar who could not fixed and would not send it out for repair given my iPad's age. We walked into this Dedham location hopeful to get a few items we had fixed (PC, and a speaker) but were extremely disappointed. We used to have a plan with ubreakifix so we first asked to see if Patrick would be able to look up our account. He seemed confused already and came into the conversation agitated. He then said he couldn't see that we had anything with them so he handed up a pamphlet and dismissed the conversation. Afterwards we asked about having our items looked at anyways to see how we could get them fixed and he told us all they fix are phones. So after explaining everything to Patrick, he said all he does is fix phones which makes no sense seeing as they broadcast fixing multiple devices. He didn't give us advice on what to do next or how to go about getting our devices fixed besides handing us a pamphlet. The whole experience with Patrick felt unprofessional and extremely unhelpful leading us not knowing what to do with our devices and wondering why we wasted the trip over there. read more

I came in for a battery replacement for my iPhone XR which was only $4 cheaper than going to the Apple store since the owner refused to honor his own coupon. Given the attitude, time wasted (even with scheduled appt), and overall terrible customer service, please do yourself a favor and just go to Apple if you're just replacing the battery. The worker there on a Saturday afternoon could not have been more rude. He greeted me with a "what's up" and seemed to be incredibly bothered by having to be there. He spoke no more than a few words to be the entire 20 minutes that I was there. When I returned, my phone screen was fixed, but I realized a day later that it was not repaired correctly. The phone screen does not lock when I am making a call, which is incredibly frustrating and leads to many dropped calls. It is more broken than when I brought it to them. I would go back to have it fixed, but not sure I want to deal with that employee again. read more

I wish I read the Yelp reviews before patronizing this business because normally 3 stars (current rating) is NOT ENOUGH for me to do business. I saw the Google reviews first (rating is higher) and came in based on that. The yelp score is more accurate to my experience. Not only was the customer service on pick up disgraceful. My device's charging power has been PROFOUNDLY DIMINISHED! It used to reach 100% charged in about 75 minutes or so. It has now been on the charger for TWO hours and has only charged 20% !!! They also broke my home button. I noticed this on pick up, I could have left my device there for further action, but the employee became so disgruntled once I said I didn't want to leave my password. I decided to cut the interaction short. Didn't leave my password, paid and left. I'm taking it to a new location for further review. I wouldn't dare go back here. read more

I am absolutely APPALLED at the way one of the workers spoke to me! I was on the phone with owner of the device I was inquiring about and the worker practically refused to assist me due to me being on the phone with the actual owner of the laptop to gain clarification on the laptop issue! There are absolutely ZERO signs in the store stating any rules for being on your cellphone or anything. I think it's extremely important to mention that this same guy made a smart remark the last time I was in there but I let it roll off my shoulder! Not this time! BEWARE!!!! I didn't get his name before asking to speak with the manager Aiden but he was tall, slim, with short blond hair and his anxiety is overwhelmingly noticeable! I called up and spoke to a nice man and he said they have the part and they will also clean the phone for free. I drove 1 1/2 hours there to get the phone fixed. I was greeted by the worst person in the store. He was rude didn't listen and refused to do any work or check the phone. Looked at it and said, It needs to be updated and factory reset. The repair was fine, but their customer service is abysmal. Brought phone in on a monday morning and after being told it wouldn't be ready until 5:30 I asked if they would mail. Was told they would, They told me they would contact me when the phone was ready to verify that the repair they did resolved the problem and to review shipping options. After hearing nothing he remainder of the day, I received an email (despite requesting a text to another number) telling me the phone was ready to be picked up. Contacted them and reminded them about needing to have it shipped. Was told that it would be shipped that day and I should have it Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. Nothing came Wednesday and I waited until the latter part of Thursday afternoon and called to inquire. The employee told me that I should have received it by now and while he provided me a UPS tracking number he told me he would look into it himself and contact me with an update. Needless to say, when I checked my email before going to bed, there was no update. So I went on the UPS site to track the delivery and discovered why I didn't receive it on Wednesday nor Thursday - it wasn't shipped until 6:58 p.m. on Thursday. Finally received the phone Monday afternoon. Mistakes happen, I get it. But the store made numerous representations they didn't adhere to and frankly it appears they never had any intention of adhering to them. I can forgive mistakes, but not being lied to. I received a survey from Ubreakifix corporate. After submitting it on Sunday, I received a very prompt follow up in which I received an apology for being treated the way I was. I requested a refund of the cost of the shipping (the cost of the repair was covered by Samsung as the phone was under warranty) as a token of good will and was told that they would contact the Dedham store and they would get back to me Monday to discuss. It is now 10:15 Monday night and I have heard nothing from Dedham. I would strongly recommend that Samsung change their authorized repair dealer and would even more strongly recommend that if consumers have a choice, they should go ANYWHERE else for service. 1) When I 1st enter store front desk representative literally just has a staring contest w/ me until he said "What's up"- maybe a greeting and a How Can I Help You would suffice. Let's not even talk about the wait time to get simple a diagnosis and repair of screen done. 2) Here's the full story of what transpired: On 7/20, my IPhone 7 plus screen had fallen + cracked. About 2-3 hours after the incident, and before visiting this establishment, I stopped at the Dedham Apple store to get a general diagnosis to see if there were any hardware and/or software issues. There wasn't an indication of the camera having issues according to the technician. I returned to UBreakIFix (UBIF) to get the screen fixed instead as my Apple Care warranty had expired + so I found a cheaper place. On Sunday a day after repairs I noticed the rear camera not working. I called UBIF on Monday about this and the associate that picked up at your store stated that on my next service I would be given 50% and that was the end of the conversation. On Tuesday I went to Apple again and happened to see the exact technician. I reported the rear camera issue and he stated that I better go back to the 3rd party that handled my cracked screen fix to get a refund for the rear camera as no issues were seen prior to repairs for the Apple diagnosis. I did go to UBIF and explained what the Apple technician said and the guy at the front literally started giving every reason to support the camera could've got damaged in between etc. I also even brought a paper the Apple technician told me to bring in support and the IBUF front desk rep didn't even budge to look. I decided to email the store directly instead of continuing to waste my gas. I literally gave up and said let me pay for this rear camera. I email about the next service 50% conversation then I am told oh this only applied to if the front camera was damaged. I didn't even respond. Like seriously?! On the phone this point wasn't made I was just told I'd get a discount of 50%. Update: 1 star because of the full inconvenience you provided to me regardless of the cracked screen being fixed. read more

Bought a brand new Pixel 5 and was having SIM card issues with the phone not connecting to network. Apparently Google has partnered with these guys so Google asked me to go and get it checked. 1. I booked an appointment on their website for 4pm. I arrived at 4:05pm and said "I have an appointment for 4pm". The guy at the front desk said "Well we close at 5 so we won't be able to do much". Why do you have appointment slots on your website for 4pm then? 2. He tried a few things and then told me he can't do much because the phone is not reading the SIM card. I said "I know. I already spoke to Google about it and they sent me here. So if you think this is a hardware issue, can you give me warranty options since the device is just 2 weeks old?". He said "We don't do that here. Call Google support". He then handed me the device as if that was it. 3. He then tried a few things and said "Phone works with a 4G SIM but not 5G. So just use 4G". I said "My phone is 5G and I'm paying for 5G so I'd like to use 5G". He went completely off topic and said "5G is an experimental technology so just use 4G" LOL. I didn't get any help here. Plus the person helping me was very rude. Eventually I called Google and made an official complaint of this store and asked them to do a mail in replacement of my device. hey are swindlers. Dont understand how Samsung will be partnering with such a company. I had an issue with my phone screen after the Samsung latest software update. I called Samsung to complain about this and was told it is a software issue. So she asked me to set up an appointment to fix it with this company. This particular location happens to be the one closest to me. On getting to the shop I met a guy named Zach and showed him my phone and the issue I have with it. He asked for my name and confirmed my appointment. After checking the phone he concluded it is not a software issue but the screen needs to be replaced cos it has a small crack. I asked him how much and he told me it is covered by the Samsung warranty. Asked if he is sure and he said Yes. So i asked how long it is gonna take and he said 2hr or less.I told him to go ahead and decided to wait for them to fix it cos i live far away. Printed me a contract receipt showing $0. 2 hours later when they done fixing the phone he came back to me saying it is not covered under warranty and i will need to pay $269 or thereabouts. I was dumbfounded. I asked you couple of times if you sure it is covered and you confirmed yes it is and how you gonna come around again to tell me it is not covered. He admitted the error was his but there is nothing he can but for me to either pay 269 or they gonna put my old screen back. I went back and forth with him over it his colleague that claimed to be the manager also came and said nothing can be done but to either pay or return the phone back to the original state after wasting 2 hours of my time. Spoke to another guy over the phone that they claim owns the shop, also admitted their fault and rudely said nothing can be done for me to pay the full amount or put the old screen back to my phone. i even offered to pay half the price while they cover the remaining half cos they were the one that gave a wrong information... While we were going back and forth over this, they decided to put my old screen back which only took them 15 minutes compare to the initial 2hours to put a new screen which is more or less the same thing... Even their corporate office number that i called couldn't do anything about it but said i will have to pay the full amount as the shop owner is not ready to do anything... What i believe a reasonable company will do in this situation is offer some discount out of the original cost even if it is just $1 cos they the ones that provided a wrong information.... For some reasons i cant respond to Patrick's reply to my comment. Reply: I guess you didn't take your time to read my review or you just decided to ignore the fact. I obviously stated that when i told Zach the tech guy it is a software issue, he responded saying it is an hardware issue and the screen needs to be replaced cos it is cracked. I ASKED HIM HOW MUCH TO REPLACE THE SCREEN AND HE SAID IT IS COVERED UNDER SAMSUNG WARRANTY, after which i asked him if he is sure and he reaffirmed, Yes. Your guys never did any software update, the only thing they did was replacing the screen. I even asked him if i need to back up my data before replacing the screen and he said they not doing any software, they just replacing the screen so i shouldn't worry about losing data.
