I genuinely dread having to come to this location. It's the only one around, which is the only reason it's still in business because people don't have a choice. I just spent 30 minutes on hold trying to ask a simple question of "are you accepting Amazon returns today?" Since apparently that changes based on mood, staffing, or whatever excuse is convenient that day. Half the time I drive there, I'm told no. The other half, it's magically fine. Calling ahead would solve that... except no one answers the phone. So instead, I get to waste my time driving there where I know I'll be met with a rude, annoyed employee or two who act like helping customers is a personal inconvenience. After reading the other reviews, it's obvious this isn't just a me problem and this place is just consistently bad. At this point it's almost impressive how unfriendly and unhelpful the service is. It's almost comical and I would love to work here just to see why everyone stays when they are clearly miserable. read more

The customer service was awful. Employees walked right past me as I was looking for dividers for binders. I had the displeasure of asking two employees for help. One of the employees told me, "they are over there in aisle 3". I felt totally dismissed especially when I was trying to get the attention of another employee, who was much more interested in going to talk to a coworker. It's really sad, because the other stores that I visited were amazing. read more

Woof. I have a usual store I get my prints and at they're usually amazing. Unfortunately when I had to place a large order recently the machines were down. They called immediately to let me know and I chose to cancel and put the order in here since I would be in the area. First, I never got any notification that my order was or was not ready. I went in right before close (after the time I was given when I placed my order btw) and was told that only a third of my order was done as their business card cutting machine was down. Never was I notified of this (otherwise I would have gone to my THIRD location, I guess?) so now I don't have those prints done in time. Cool, cool, cool. I decided to take the prints that were done and cancel the others because I'm not going to be around here any time soon. But they couldn't figure out how to remove the business cards from the order. It took a few tries before the manager came out and tried and it took two more goes before I finally got my postcards only. While they were figuring this out I looked at what had been printed and...it was not great. It was unevenly cut, the colors had a grainy/noisy look to them. So, while I had the manager I asked her if I could get some sort of discount on the postcards because of the issues. I was told that it was a problem with the file, not them. I said "well, they're all cut unevenly so it's not a uniform issue." She said they were hand cut but that wasn't the issue because the borders existed because they weren't formatted right. I told her I have had this same file printed multiple times with no issue anywhere else (not to mention it was a design created by a design team at a very large tech company so like, it's probably done right). It's a border to border design and that's what my proof looked like when I submitted it. She just shrugged and didn't say anything. I was too tired to argue at this point so I didn't argue the point. But if you see a poorly printed and cut postcard floating around you can thank Staples Dearborn for the wonky look. It would have been better if I just printed them in my home printer. At least I would have been careful with the cutting. Also the store is ROUGH. Empty shelves, dusty and dirty. It's just a depressing place. Maybe that's why the staff is so blasé. It's not an inspiring store and you get what you put in. Shame as this is the only one in the area. read more

Service is not good. Lady at the printers not helpful, complained about not having staff, mentioned I needed help she said download the app. Then I continued to wait and never helped. Bathrooms are disgusting, and people barely go in there seems like bathrooms do not get cleaned everyday. Value? No. read more

Customer service is horrible. The manager or lady who wants to have some authority in the copy area is rude and unprofessional. While making my copies I over heard her saying how she doesn't want to deal with wrapping items so the staff should call and delay those orders until after 12/16/25 -- not the timeframe staples advertises. Very rude and invasive. Shop anywhere but here because the general store manager is just as rude. I feel sorry for the young man she was "training" as she is definitely giving him poor advice for assigning customers and creating brand loyalty. read more

Everywhere says they close at 7, I'm here right now at 6:30 and the doors are locked and lights are on. I lost count at 7 customers have come to the door trying to get in since I started writing this. Other stores in the strip are open so it is not power, or an emergency. I had an important document for a presentation this evening that I had printed overnight and needed badly to pick up today. I cannot imagine being more disappointed right now. Last week, I was in need of photo copies for a meeting I had to attend in one hour. I needed these copies right away, and I visited the Staples store on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. I was very fortunate that Claresse was working that morning because, even though I should have been using the copier myself, she took the time to run off the copies for me. The female employee behind the counter at the print/copy counter doesn't seem to like working. I asked to if she could help me printing something. She then rudely replied with " so u know how to email ' like I'm some brainless backwoods dumbass. Then I say that I already have the code for what I need printed. She then rudely replied with a finger point towards the 3 self service printers and said there go do use those. And btw one of them was needing employees service but she was to busy pacing behind the counter to look at that also. Enjoy your job while it lasts young lady. Soon enough all of Staples stores will close. read more

By far and away the filthiest Staples (and possibly any store in general) I've been in. I was shopping for an office desk and some assorted supplies. There was trash on the floor, scuffs everywhere, dirt on the walls, dust on the merchandise, and a ton of unloaded pallets of merchandise blocking the aisles. The two stars are because the employee we dealt with was really nice and upbeat and apologized for the mess, and when we asked to speak with the manager, the manager was also apologetic. Doesn't excuse letting the place go like that, but at least they weren't surly about it. I mentioned to the employees at the Allen Park store (where I ended up going to make my purchases) that I had such a terrible experience. They wouldn't comment, which was professional of them, but a customer in line with me said he had the same experience and (like me) will never set foot in the Dearborn store again. With an Office Max in Dearborn and another Staples just a few miles away, I'd advise everyone to steer clear of this place. read more

All the copy machines are broken except one, garbage all over the floor, looks like a FedEx Kinko's copies from the 90s, destroyed, but there is a gold shining star in the store, not the lady sitting at the front desk looking like a happy cupcake I gave my daughter for a birthday present when she was two, no, not that lady I really dig your attire, but you could use some work ethic training as well as the store can use a janitor or something regardless of my negative review of the from what seems like lazy cashier. Tesha or Tamica or I really apologize for not remembering your name, but came out of the back literally saw me frustrated because all the machines were broke came out and literally sat in assisted me with my entire project! 5 Stars, and then some! Way above and beyond the call of duty for anyone let alone at staples employee. I wish the store would reach out to me so I can give this employee their due respect and praise as it is far too often we overlook great employees like this. read more

The sales clerk was very rude. He called me over bruskly when I had walked by. When I stated I didn't want the extended warrantee he asked me a second time.. When I said no the SECOND time he replied you seem to know everything. I stated you seemed to be a douche. So I said I don't increase my purchase by 30%. His response was again to flippant state "you seem to know everything." I didn't need such foul condescending response from your business. read more

Today I visited this location & as I approached the checkout counter, the cashier waved me over to direct me to the next register because she had just sprayed down to sanitize the register I was walking towards. The manager who was on shift came up to the wet register to help another customer cash out. He noticed it was wet & huffed, walked over to the cashier helping me & in an unwelcoming, angry tone asked "where is the paper towel, why would you leave that wet?!" Then as he walked past me, I could hear him mumble under his breath "that's just lazy, why would you do that" as if she wasn't doing her job. My cashier was so humiliated & felt she needed to apologize to me as she continued to cash me out. I told her it was really okay & no fault of hers, that managers like that are the reason good workers quit. read more

The experience I had with this store was abysmal. I submitted an order online, as instructed, only to find out that I submitted it thru my business advantage account and apparently this store does not receive those orders. A rather huge issue when you are a company that will only accept orders submitted online. When I arrived, I gave them the documents and asked them to expedite. Cyndi was apparently new and had not been trained by the manager - Anthony. She didn't know that their hundred of thousands of dollars worth of machinery could also stapled the documents if someone would have just trained her on how to operate the machine.. So when I came back to get the order she was not only hand stapling, she was stapling them backwards. She didn't bother to look at the documents online to ensure that she was stapling them correctly. Because I was in a time-crunch I stepped in to help staple, only to find out that she had stapled incorrectly up to that point.. I had to remove the staples that she did and correct them. I asked her for help, and her movements to get another stapler, fill it with staples (in a STAPLES store) was glacial. I then asked for the 4th document, she turned her back on me an ignored me. Anthony, the store manager, did not step in to first supervise the copy order that INCLUDED machine stapling, did not get additional help for the hand stapling, did not do anything to mitigate the issue. Cyndi was obviously untrained but she was also unprofessional and made no effort to make it right. she has no business being in a customer service oriented business and Anthony has no business managing a store if he cannot take the time to train his staff to be able to understand that the hundred of thousands of dollars of machinery can collate AND staple. Both Anthony and Cyndi need to find a job where customer service does not matter. read more

Store is always stocked and clean. Staff is nice, but the prices are always a little more than Office Depot. I can probably find a few deals on Amazon or even at Walmart. You're really just paying more the name brand. The fact that it was close to home and opened on Sunday is why we stopped today. read more

Robb, who manages the copy/fax area is terrific. He has great patience, is positive and cheerful and extremely helpful. If it hadn't been for him, it would have taken me hours to do what I needed to accomplish. While I made copies, I watched him help other people. The staff was nice, the place was clean, and everyone was smiling. But when I went there I got a blue mesh chair and a desk. Today I returned the chair because while I was building it, the holes we are not aligned and I could put the back of the chair onto the bottom. We returned it and got a new one that was perfect. I started building the desk and I was almost done when the holes didn't line up. I am very upset with this company. They need to align things so im not returning to the store everyday. read more

I have found this store to be a delight, with excellent customer service. I admit the store has its share of challenges with space, and that is why you will see freight positioned on the sales floor. For me it is more of a customer service experience that makes my visits to this store pleasurable. Being a seasoned shopper, especially at this location I know most of the associates and managers and how hard they all work to make each customers visit better than their last. I a would be shopper, is someone I expect to give such a harsh review as they probably never shopped at this location before, and maybe their first time. Unfortunately they would be missing the true essence of the Dearborn store, its people. I have found this store to be one of only a few retail locations I will shop at due to its exceptional customer service. read more

Let me be clear. I'm a fan of Tom, the Tech Center Supervisor. He is the ONLY tech in the entire store that knows about computers. The other "say" they do but they don't. And Staples doesn't hire competent people for the tech department. Could be they can't keep competent people. Perhaps Staples should look at the management of this store to find the problem. I was there today and they had 2 people in the store besides Tom who was working on my computer. The person who was supposed to come in in the copy department called in and quit after just one day. read more
