Unfortunately when you live in Fort Mill, you have VERY few options for office supplies. In the past, I've been to Office Max in Rock Hill but there selections are not great. It's also near impossible to get someone to assist you. I was looking for desk drawer organizer and all the ones at Office Max were so small. I checked Amazon and the big one that was adjustable was made of bamboo and was over $70 bucks, bamboo, really? Before COVID there was a Staples in Rock Hill but it didn't survived the pandemic. I liked the store though, easy to navigate web, easy to order on line, friendly staff and good prices. So I decided to make to make the drive to Pineville, NC which is about a 30 minute drive for me. It's in a dense heavy traffic area near the Atrium Hospital so I usually try to avoid that area. It was worth the drive today. I had a relatively good experience except for when I entered. There was no trash can at the store entrance. When I walked in, I looked around and again no trash can. I had just eaten some fast food and hand my hands full and didn't want to be walking around with all that in hand. I walked behind a service desk looking for a trash can and some guy, said 'hey, what are you doing'? I said looking for a trash can. He said 'there is one in front of the store'. I told him I looked when I came in and didn't see it. He said 'oh, you have to go around the corner'. OK great, I did but it was such a pain. Not a good experience, I know there are trash cans in the store somewhere, he just didn't want to help me. I found several options for the drawer organizers and picked out three different options. I figure one had to work and if not, I would return the others. Turns out, they all worked great. The check-out was a bit challenging. It was soooo busy, of course two days before Christmas, to be expected. There was only one lady on the register and she was actually taping up a box to go out with UPS. When she got to me, she apologized and she asked if i was a member of their Rewards program. She explained the benefits and features and I could hear people behind me complaining. She signed me up and as I walked to my vehicle, there was a shady character who was following me. I turned around to confront him and he walked away. Parking in this strip center is TERRIBLE! There are no stop signs where there should be and signs where there shouldn't be. All to make a busy parking lot prime for honking horns and angry shoppers. With all the technological advances sometimes you still need copies of documents, posters, mass printing, business cards, etc. Use these services so we can keep them on a budget. Computer programming and desk/office supplies readily available for purchasing. I saw two computer for access documents perhaps for your email so you don't have to travel home etc. Copier machines available as well. I had some papers laminated for ongoing referencing and cheap. My wife's uncle passed suddenly and we needed a program for the funeral in NC. We live in NYC. We edited and uploaded the program in an hour per his wishes. We printed them in NC but the family was overwhelmed with so many other things. We get to NC at 6:58PM and I call. Someone answered the phone. Let that sink in. A person. In the store. I told him I'd be there in 10 minutes. After checking with his manager he said come on in. When I get there the doors are locked and there's a woman waiting outside. She doesn't look happy. She tells me they are closed and I tell her my situation. She was hoping to get in but realized my ask was slightly more urgent. The team let me in 5 minutes after closing - which I will not assume to be trivial. I've work and for large retail institutions with big rules for good reasons. Theft, mismanagement, insurance, safety, etc. They get me to the counter and ring me up. They were so human in that experience and I couldn't thank them enough. The reality is that I think most people would do the same thing but we don't spend a lot of time acknowledging them when they do. This review is actually for the TSA PreCheck and the person working today (Saturday, July 15, 2023). I had an appointment today at 12:20pm and I walked through the door at 12:09pm and was waiting for my appointment because someone was already being seen. There were plenty of people waiting - come to find out they were all walk-ins. While we are waiting for the guy doing that PreCheck to come out to check me in, we realize the line is also on another aisle besides the 3 people sitting in chairs outside of the small room where the PreCheck takes place. The guy eventually comes out with a customer. He was wearing a lanyard with an empty badge holder (probably a smart move on his part so no one knew his name). He asks if anyone has an appointment and I say that I do. When he asks for my last name, I tell him, and he tells me I'm late for my appointment. I tell him we've been here since 12:10pm. He proceeds to tell me that I'm late for my appointment and he had called out for appointments before he took the previous customer. Another customer waiting to be seen who was sitting in one of the chairs tells him we were there at 12:10pm. The guy loudly tells the waiting customer he made a mistake because he should not have interjected since I was not there on time. Since no one had an appointment, the guy takes me back and my appointment is otherwise uneventful and takes no time at all (definitely less than 10 minutes). The guy is even toned and stone faced the entire time. He just seems angry with the world. I don't know what issues he has going on with his life, but he definitely is taking things out on people when it just doesn't need to happen. While I was in my appointment, my fiancé had the cameras checked. We walked in at 12:09pm. We were definitely there on time. He was just not being nice to anyone and didn't like that we spoke up for ourselves and that someone backed us up. The store itself, in case you were wondering, looks like a Staples store, but it is on the smaller side. There were probably more people there for TSA than there were shopping in the store. Parking was easy or maybe we were just lucky for a Saturday afternoon. I don't live in the area. I happen to be here because my kids are doing things with their friends this weekend and we are visiting. I figured I could get this taken care of while I was here since Saturday appointments were available. Two stars because Staples itself was fine and because someone helped us while we were there. I asked her what the cost was to bind my 52 copies and she quoted me $235. I asked her to double check it, as that seemed very high. She said nope, that's the price. If you are looking to get TSA PreCheck do NOT come to this location. They are terrible, incredibly slow, and their equipment is shit and breaks all the time. First time I came I waited over an hour because their equipment was broken, but they just let all 10 of us wait for an hour before telling any of us. Meanwhile, the two girls just sit in the back playing with the broken equipment giggling and chilling. Second time I came and booked the first spot of the day. Again came, was told they were on the phone trying to sort out equipment issues, waited over an hour with 8 other people with no additional updates on whether it would be fixed or not. Then of course got cancelled AGAIN. Just do yourself a favor and go anywhere else for TSA PreCheck because these folks are clueless, you will wait an hour no matter what, and their equipment is shit. read more

We put in an order for business cards to be printed for our club, The Charlotte Taylor Swift Club. First thing, they called us at 11AM and said the paper that we wanted was out, so we switched it out for another paper. So, when we went to pick it up at 6PM, they still weren't ready. They proceeded to make fun of our club saying in a mocking tone, "Oh we have to get these done for the swifties" and "The swifties started watching football now." Good old Staples. Always around, always courteous and always has lots of choices in whatever you are looking for. This location is nested in the huge shopping center which has Waffle House at the entrance, Anna's wonderful alteration shop and Burlington Coat Factory next door. I volunteered to put together handouts for our pottery club in Sun City. Many handouts were about and they were in need of editing, updating and being put into digital format. What a job. Scanning does not always equate to a editable document, rather, it has to be formatted and jigged to fit the paper. Then the documents need to be saved to a memory stick and put together in a binder to hold the various handouts, sorted by category. I finally got it done so needed to figure out how to put it together so anyone could access the binder and could easily run off copies from the original or take the disc to a copy shop, like Staples, to have handouts ready for use. After wandering around this massive store with incredible inventory, I asked two guys stocking shelves and off we went. They were great help. I laid our the handouts I had, told them of the three categories and how I wanted the originals in "pockets" within a three-ring binder. We got it. Three colors of plastic pockets and a three-ring binder. It really looks good. No problem checking out and I would not hesitate to come back here if I needed any office supplies at all. Just left store. I picked up a pad of paper that was formatted the way I like and a few other things. When I went to pay the cashier said she couldn't scan it because it was part of a package. I told her that I really liked it so instead of searching for the package she informed me that I would have to find it myself. I said ok I won't buy it. Then she rings up my other purchases and while I'm figuring out how to enter my telephone number on the screen she has a long conversation with another customer which I have to wait for her to wind up. We had asked for two picture posters for a funeral and the posters were done so poorly that the picture was coming off the poster. The funeral was the next day. It was an absolutely horrible experience. The one saving grace was the gentleman (Perry) who was working there at the time of pick up. He was super kind and considerate and tried to come up with multiple solutions for us. He called multiple other locations and even though ultimately he wasn't able to help much, he did everything he could and provided the best customer service. The female attendant on 7/25 was randomly picking people and gave no regard to those who waited longer or with earlier appointments. Certainly do not show any annoyance with being repeatedly skipped in line or you will be called out for having an attitude and threatened to not pass your check. All this happened to me today during my scheduled appointment time after waiting an hour past my appointment to be seen, having another person defend how long I had been waiting, the attendant with no visible name tag berated me for not wanting to wait and dare to question her process. She called me rude, told me she doubted my screening would pass, all the while my only statement outside of answering and trying to follow her unclear directions was how exactly have I offended you. Her answer- it's your overall attitude. She was unprofessional and made me feel extremely uncomfortable giving her all my personal information during the screening when she clearly did not like me and was taking her bad day out on me. It's mainly called parents not teaching their children "at an early age" a work ethic, responsibility and how to have a passion to serve others and serve them well. When the children grow up and go to work, this is what you pretty much experience at more places than not today EVERYWHERE because there are more and more parents not doing their jobs right when these (now employees) were raised at an early age. Plus, there are many children who were not fortunate enough to have two parents to raise them sadly. There are families that do have "two" parents, but simply do not do their jobs right when raising their children "at an early age". Work ethic and a passion to serve others and serve them well must be taught to children "at an early age". This is the predominant reason we unfortunately have so many folks that do not want to work! This place can be hit or miss. There are times I come in and there is no one in sight to ask any questions and the staff at the checkout can be rude. One time I went and I waited forever in line for one item. I was finally in a rush at this time. The girl was non stop talking about the staples rewards program and I declined. Then she kept mentioning the item of the day and asking if I wanted to purchase. No thank you. I asked her about a rebate and she didn't even explain it to me. She told me to read the receipt. Ok. I stopped into Staples last week in panic mode because I needed to get my entire fashion design portfolio printed in time to make a flight for an interview the next day. Normally I would think and plan ahead but this was a case where the interview was planned last minute and I needed it done ASAP. SAVANAH at the copy and print center was extremely helpful from start to finish. She had no problem with file document set up on the wide format Epson printer, which I know as a designer can sometimes be confusing. She helped me select a nice paper weight, and went over my requests thoroughly with me before I left. It was crucial that my prints came out the right size in due time, and she made sure they were, asking the right questions and clarifying where needed. Not only was she helpful to me but I noticed she was also working on other orders, and somehow remained calm and collected under all of the pressure. I have been to other Staples before for similar reasons and get less than average service. Leslie though went out of her way to help me even though she seemed busy with a project she had. When I found myself in need of a personal computer (my old one joined the choir invisible last night), I went down to the closest location to me on Pineville-Matthews Road. I was not disappointed. My salesperson, Scott, was very helpful and assisted me in picking out the model I needed. I ended up getting not only the computer but also a monitor and printer (the printer I had not expected to get, but the prices were so good I decided to go on and get one as my wife and I had been talking about getting one for the house.) For the price of a brand-new computer, a 23" flat monitor, and a laser-jet printer, plus paper and supplies, I spent the same amount of money I did on my old computer 5 years ago, and with better service! I am a sold customer and will be returning to Staples for anything else I need for home office stuff. read more

Dave (sales manager) called two stores to see if it was in inventory and then when it wasn't, ordered it online for me at the clearance price which was listed on the display model. I was completely satisfied and impressed when I left the store. This Staples location is really stepping up their game in customer service. Last time I was in they had a manager stationed at the front, monitoring check-out lines, helping customers find what they needed, and making sure associates were actively assisting customers at all times. It was refreshing and made my experience very smooth and pleasant. I visited this one because it was close by, but now I think this will become my go-to office supply store. read more
