There are new doctors at this place. I was a customer for about 4 years before the switch and it was decent enough before. I tried going to a different optometrist about a year ago, but they didn't get my prescription right and got upset when I told them the glass and contacts I was prescribed weren't working for me. I felt rushed during the additional correction and dealt with the glasses for a year... Coming back to Stanton Optometry from that other place, Dr. Ansaldo was very patient and actually tried to give me the correct prescription possible. He also was genuinely concerned about another problem I had mentioned and tried to get me situated as best as possible. I'm definitely sticking with this place. read more

I received a very thorough eye exam and he explained the tests and procedures. The only thing negative is their lack of selection of frames. You can book an appointment online or by telephone. Patient forms can be printed out and filled out before your appointment. Be sure you have good insurance, the frames and lenses can get pretty expensive. The new doctor is beyond nice, He actually took the time to go over my moms eye issues in detail and what was causing it, until she understood. The staff is super nice too! They really made us feel comfortable. They let her try on whatever she liked, and sanitized everything afterward even! They really go above and beyond to make sure you like what you pick. All prices were clear and mapped out clearly for us with even different options/price points to pick from. We didn't pay anything but our co-pay for our insurance! Terrible service. They don't back their products and now it's "an insurance" thing. If you don't have time for nonsense, avoid this place, there are plenty of reputable optometrists. My glasses broke the first time I tried to wear them. I called and the woman that answered said no problem, bring them back and we will fix them no charge. I confirmed that it may take a couple weeks, I only have Saturdays and she said don't worry about it. When I brought them in a couple weeks later, the manager told me that I waited too long, I would have to pay for the repair. He argued with me and claimed I was not told not to worry about it. Not sure how he could argue about something he knew nothing about. Now, I am stuck with the insurance grievance process and glasses I've never even worn. read more

My family have been going to this Stanton Optometry since previous owner/optometrist until now (new owner/optometrist). Staffs are totally changed which is the thumbs down for 1 star. The male optometrist is experience & knowledgeable but staffs are very rude. Especially the female that sit right next to exam room. She has strong attitudes toward patients. Also, very pricey there to buy glasses or fixing it there. My brother also optometrist running 2 clinics under Vision Source network but out of State, so I know how business run. I was looking for an office with same day availability for my husband and I and let me tell you I called like four office before calling Stanton Optometry and let me tell you I'm glad all the other offices were booked because I love the services this office provided for us! The friendliness and the customer service was on point, the way they cared for us and kept things clean. The optometrist gave us all the attention we needed and explained everything we needed to know. He even gave us a coupon for the eye drops we required (which was nice!) We have been coming to this location for years now and never had a problem. After this owner change they are now saying that if you buy your glasses cash they are ready in 2 weeks but if you bill medi-cal insurance it will take 8 weeks. We called medi-cal and they said that isn't correct so they called this office. We will not be coming back. who can be without glasses for 8 weeks. Was fast efficient thorough. I was in and out in less then an hour. They even got my insurance info the day before over the phone so there were no issues during the visit. Pricing was fair and straight forward. The Dr and staff were amazing and very professional. Its a small facility but they maximize every bit of available space in a clear and efficient manner. Loved how they offered me my prescription, I felt no pressure to buy or upgrade. First time I was here was back in 2016 and my experience was horrible. I had to wait for a long time because the doctor was running late. I decided to try them again this year and came in this past Tuesday. I was told the doctor is different now. The doctor was nice hence the 2 stars, but their prices are just way too high. My daughter went in two days later which is today and she said she also had a really bad experience. We have VSP insurance and with our old optometrist we've paid the most $145 for 4 boxes of contacts. My daughter paid $326 for a whole years supply at Stanton Optometry. Plus she said the front desk people kept telling her how bad her eyes are. Our old optometrist gave her advice on how to take care of her eyes not tell her how bad they are. read more

Stanton Optometry is under new ownership now and the changes the new staff has made have really upgraded the experience here. Dr. Ansaldo explains everything thoroughly and is really friendly.The staff is very polite and attentive to any needs or questions you may have. Horrible customer service ! Very misleading on pricing . i asked for a receipt with a breakdown and got a hand written invoice with the total amount no breakdown .Even the store hours are misleading in the short time i had 2 go there they put a sign on the door closed for inventory (Friday-Saturday Sunday open Monday) So dont look at store hours , might be doing inventory again . Horrible experience in my 40 years of wearing contacts and glasses, dr. wanted 2 change my contacts 1 day moist i tried but for me 1 day acuvue oasys is more comfortable. When my wife went 2 pick them up they gave her 1 box of 90 contacts . Thats when they said there is a price different and now i get 90 contacts when i orderd 180 . They forgot to tell me that. There is a $5 difference on 1800contacts for those contacts . When i said i will just return everything and go somewhere else they gave me the box . . Someone needs too look at there books because there overcharging .The bad news is i broke my glasses the first week i had 2 go back ,and after 22 days i called them and ther on back order its been over 6 weeks no phone call . my experience was awful i will go some where else read more

This it's the worst place you can go to.. Their customer service it's the worst you can imagine.. The ladies at the front desk, tells you whatever you want to hear to get your money. They might give you the wrong order/prescription to keep you happy then they'll tell you about ordering the correct prescription, then tell you it's on back order and so on... If you call, they lie and lie.. Seriously, I've never have such a horrible customer service like this one.... Update: this place really can't do anything right. I was so fed up with them that I decided to just start going to another place. I needed my contact lenses info and I went in to ask them. THREE TIMES I told them that this prescription was for CONTACTS. And what did they give me? Something for GLASSES. These people are purely incompetent, I'm surprised I'm not blind after the unprofessionalism I've seen here. Obviously if they cannot listen to their patients then they shouldn't be practicing. They probably "forgot" to fill out all the information so I can run back to them and buy their contacts. Once I get everything sorted out I am NEVER coming back to this location. Would give 0 stars if I could. I have been coming to this optometrist since I was 7 years old. My mom has always brought me and my siblings here. Each time we come the office seems to have gotten more and more unprofessional. I came in for a checkup and decided to keep my frames and add new lenses. I understand my frames were used from my previous prescription however, when I got them back they were all scratched. I did not bring them in scratched. The optometrists mother whom is super unprofessional told me "whatever it's the risk you take when you use the same frame" the receptionist claimed it's the policy they have. I picked this place because it was close and my healthcare covered it. I had excellent eye exam. However my glasses frame cracked on the bottom of the left lense. I had to pay for another pair of half price $55. I had to charge it. Yesterday my left frame cracked in the Same spot. I tried calling them and finally today they answered. I told them I was coming in by bus. I got there and they told me I had to pay shipping and handling for them to mail the frames back. I'm a 70 year old woman. Then she said you need to take your glasses off when you go to bed put them on bedside table. She proceeded to tell me that I was the only person that glasses broke twice. I needed to be more careful. I told her I had been wearing glasses since I was three years old. I can't see without my glasses so why would I would be careless and break them. I have glass frames in my drawer that are 30 year old and the old ones were three years old no cracks. She said well you bought cheap frames you should have brought name brand. I apologized to her for being so poor. She then told me she knew of a job opening. OMG . The dude fixed my lenses into another frame. I had to fork over another 20 bucks . She said their rent went up too had to pay bills. I told her my check was only $971 and rent was $750. Her deal get a job. I'm 70. I will not go back there. I can't remember since I started wearing glasses that I've had such a horrible experience. I sent my roommate there too. Took him forever to get his glasses that he needed for driving. Just got new insurance and looked up places that accepted my insurance and this came up! Not very great upon first glance but the doctor was pleasant and took his time to make sure my prescription was perfect for me. The lady up front was extremely helpful in giving me advice on what frames looked best ( almost half an hour!) She was extremely helpful and made sure the insurance covered everything from scratch resistant, light reflecting, and transition coating on them! I ended up getting the $99 package which includes the exam and glasses. They called me the next day (Tuesday) and said my glasses are ready. It only took 24hrs! DO NOT COME HERE!!! I walked in for the first time since I was next door at staples but boy was this my worst mistake. I went in to get my eye exam. Got my exam done Dr prescribed me glasses.. but when I got my glasses, it was too strong for me, it was hurting my eyes. I went back and she re did my eye exam and adjusted my glasses... At this point I'm a feeling a lil skeptical but I proceeded to give it another shot. 2nd time and the glasses did not fit my eyes, again it would hurt. So, I went back and decided I wanted my money back since I paid $120. I did not trust her anymore and I just wanted my money money back. Of course! The asian older lady tells me she cannot give me my money back, that I needed to get checked AGAIN... Really? I was not gonna get my eyes checked for a third time, obviously this place is not professional enough and since they don't make enough money, they have to rip people off for their mistakes. She was so helpful with each of my child by helping me select a nice frame for them. We will definitely return as we have in the past 10 years.
