I have a beloved pair of MODO Eyewear glasses that I wear all the time, and when it came time to get new specs, I wanted the exact same frame. I looked around where I live (Indiana) and could not find my frame anywhere. So I reached out to Spectacle Optometry in Orange County, because I saw on their website that they carry or can order MODO frames. Spectacle came through! I was able to order my exact frame, in the exact color, directly from them. I gave them my prescription, and they asked me via email a few questions about lens preferences. This is another area where I wanted something very specific (surprise, surprise), and Spectacle was able to dial in my lenses to my exact specifications. When you wear glasses all the time like me, I feel that it's important to love your glasses. I absolutely love mine! Spectacle Optometry was wonderful to work with, especially considering that I couldn't visit them in person because I live more than 1,800 miles away. The customer service was fantastic, even from afar.

I appreciated the Dr. Taking her time assessing my 6 year old due to poor vision. What we planned was a quick in and out ended up being us waiting for my daughters eyes to be dilated for further assessment. I am glad she took the time to do this. The only downfall was limited frame choices vs. the artesia one. One employee actually informed me they get the leftovers sent from artesia LOL in other words, if you like fancy frames, you may want to check out another place. If you're like my kids who will just take what's on the rack, feel free to stop in.

So, she made me an appointment for a little way out almost a month out, but they were busy and I was ok with it. I came in for my appointment and checked in, filled out some paperwork since I was a new patient and I hadn't had a vision checkup in quite a while (17+ years, my vision hadn't changed). The prescription I had gotten 30 years prior still work because I never really used my glasses, only to drive at night with. The office is super clean and stocked with a lot of frames with a range of price points from basic (what is covered by your insurance) and the extra price add-on is listed on the frames (which you are responsible for). So, it was easy peasy to know what was going on and not be in the dark about the pricing on the frames. They also had a good selection of cheaper frames that were listed at an additional $60 all the way to $310, but honestly, I only looked at the frames that I liked. Time for my appointment, the optician (with the purple streaks in her hair, sorry I didn't get her name or any of the other optician's names, but they are all very nice and super helpful) prepped me for my pretest and explained what to do as she went along with all the testing. She was super nice and made me feel comfortable as she administered each test. I pretty much told her I can tell her what the letters are but when she got to the smaller ones, they were blurry (but I still knew what they were and we laughed!!) She made me feel at ease for my eye exam that was coming up with the Dr. Dr. Vargas walked in, and he was polite and personable. He administered my eye exams, and I (again) said I will tell him what the letters are, but I let him know when it's blurry, but I was able to tell him what the letter were, and we both laughed. The eye exam wasn't rushed and he was thorough. He explained everything to me and my left eye the prescription hadn't changed at all, but my right eye had "dry spots" so that means new glasses. I was in the building a week later and just checked to see if my glasses were ready, and they were. Happy camper that can see....lol

Ambiance/Environment: This office is located on the 2nd floor. Once you walk in, you'll find the elevators on the right side. Take the elevators up to the 2nd floor. The office will be the first one you see when you exit the elevators on the right. If you get lost, there's signage everywhere. Service: Booking an appointment is easy via the website they texted me. I had to choose two appointment times that fit my schedule. It's somewhat difficult finding a time because majority of the slots that are open are during my work hours. I also received a call confirming an appointment time I chose. They send constant reminders about my appointment time and date. The receptionists don't really acknowledge you when you walk in until you say something to them. Make sure to sign the sheet once you arrive then sit and wait to be called. Dr. Vargas is the main doctor I prefer. An optometric assistant will first exam your eyes before the doctor visits you. I didn't catch her name, but she gave me a lot of useful tips regarding eye lenses and contacts. Dr. Vargas was very informative and patient. He answered every question I had. Although I might not remember the proper terms, I understood the importance of taking care of my eyes. My eyes definitely got more blind by .5 and more dry compared to last year. I had to get new prescription and eye drops. Dr. Vargas also gave me coupons for Refresh eye drops. They offer all types of brands for the frames. I chose Ray-ban frames which cost more expensive, but I wanted to go with something new. It takes about 2 weeks for the new glasses to arrive. I got chose high index and anti-reflective lenses.

The doctor examined my eyes and informed me that one side is getting overcorrected by -.25. After they examined me, the doctor put in contacts for me. Since it was an eye contact exam, they also taught me to take out the eye contacts and put it back in. I was having difficulty and it took me nearly an hour to put them in, but the girl at front was so patient with me and encouraging. I was given a trial pair of contacts for a week and a follow up appointment. I will definitely be coming back due to the knowledge and kindness!

I literally just booked my appointment over the phone and didn't do any research about this business, nor did I look at any photos of this place. Why this building doesn't look anything special on the outside was I was surprised when I stepped into the building. You literally feel like you walked into a spaceship and none other than the Starship Enterprise! I was so blown away by how cool and futuristic this place was and on top how Dr Garret Wada was quick to see me and diagnosed right away with my issues. I have zero confidence in this diagnosis or this prescription. I am filing a complaint with the California State Board of Optometry and disputing the charges. Do not trust your eyes to Dr. Anita Lee. First, she was 30 minutes late. Then I was charged an additional $60 fee for a test I was told I "had to get". During the exam, Dr. Lee told me I had astigmatism and said I needed a new prescription. After this she essentially turned around and asked me what prescription I wanted - and then wrote that. That is not an eye exam. That is not medicine. That is a stranger handing me a prescription based on what I told her I felt like getting. When I went in around an hour after to talk about how unsatisfied I felt she said "nothing will make you happy".
