Several months ago I bought glasses from Stanton Optical. Don't buy from them -- seriously. The service was great in the beginning. These are the worst glasses I've ever owned. I paid for scratch‑resistant lenses, and they scratched right away. The lenses have popped out of the frame twice, and they still want $200 to replace them while claiming it's not their problem. I was really hesitant about going back after reading all the reviews. . My glasses broke a few months ago and my spare glasses are really scratched up. So today I knew I had to get this done. I arrived and It was absolutely the opposite of all negative comments. Jesse was patient he looked through every draw to see if he found the same frames I had (that broke), after looking and not able to find the same lenses he says well lets check if you purchased the warranty (I surely didn't remember). Unless you know how My Eyelab works, and especially during this pandemic, there can be a lot of frustration in the whole process of ordering new prescriptions. The only saving grace is getting to know Leonor, who manages the store in Oakwood Plaza, which happens to be a very convenient location. First of all, I suggest not to get an exam with the doctor via Video because the diagnosis was completely wrong and the suggestions of getting '"progressive lenses" was also wrong. Nothing went well the first go around and because when I received the 2 pair of glasses , I could not see my computer screen, read a document, nor had an easy time with looking at my cell phone. I immediately went back to my old pair and tried to call the store to let them know I was going to return the glasses. Calling the store? Well you do not get to talk to the store, but another company that intercepts the calls and made excuses why I could not talk to the store. I drove over there and told them that I wanted a refund and start all over somewhere else and the diagnosis was wrong. I was turned over to Leonor, who calmly got to the bottom of the problem and made an appointment with the doctor IN the store for during the times he was there. Well, after that? Wrong again. I wanted single lenses, which they did, but again, they did not satisfy my ability to use my computer and read my phone like I could do with my old pair. Misdiagnosed again. I drove back there and after bursting with rage before I went in the door, I reminded myself how helpful Leonor was. This time I suggested that I sit with the specialist there, read a computer screen and use my phone as she changed the sample lenses to fit what I can actually see. She spent a good half hour with me and after realizing that actually looking at the computer screen from a realistic distance and being able to use my phone, there was one lens that worked. Problem solved and in 2 weeks picked up my single lens glasses (2 Pairs) and Leonor also gave me a credit for the overage I spent on the original progressive lenses. The third visit to the store could of been a very nasty one, but I owe it to Leonor, the store manager to analyze what my issue was, twice, calmly suggest a solution and she never gave up on me. Normally I would of made a scene regarding this situation, that really took a couple months. Lesson learned: sometimes you have to be patient, and nice, when things go wrong with service, because the outcomes could result in "problems solved". Leonor is probably the best customer service person I know, so my advice is to deal with her first, introduce yourself and she will help you with any issues if needed. My Eyelab is not like going to an eye doctor, it has any locations and is quite commercial, so minimize that problem by getting to know the people in the store. That is the best advice I can give if you want to deal with them. They have good discounts on frames and a large selection, but be careful getting your eyes checked. Find out when the doctor is actually in the store. I hope this review made people "see things clearer'. read more

I recently went for an eye exam, which was not performed by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist. Instead, it was done by the person behind the desk who sells glasses. To make matters worse, the prescription was completely off so I asked who was the doctor. As part of the exam was done by one person and the other part by someone else. When I pointed out that Florida law requires eye exams to be conducted by licensed optometrists or ophthalmologists, I was told that the "doctor" checks the prescriptions online. After months of trying for the store on State Rd 7;in Hollywood FL, it took months and 1 star reviews with negative responses from them, I found honorable smart people in the store in Oakwood blvd. Where Henry and Maria both went out of their way to comprehend and amend the mishandling of my lenses situation, replacing them and even permitting me to but a new frame at a good price. Thanks to the management to allow me not to go back to the State Rd 7 store, honoring my warranty and letting me find a solution with such nice personnel in the Oakwood store also in Hollywood FL. read more

During this Stay-at-Home mandate my daughter ran out of contacts so we made an appointment at The new Eye Labs in the Oakwood Plaza in Hollywood. We arrived early for our appointment but the store was locked up in a few minutes the store opened and we checked in. We walked around and selected a pair of glasses and then went to the waiting area. Time slowly went by and 30 minutes after our appointment I decided we should leave. We were told we were the first appointment so we knew the hold up was that someone was late to work. As we started to walk out we were told she would be here in 5 minutes, please wait. Another 12 minutes went by and finally someone walked in the backdoor. Finally we were taken into an exam room and we learned that the doctor was going to see my daughter via a video call. Which was even more frustrating that we had to wait so long just for an assistant to show her the chair and turn on the video. An apology would have been nice but there was no mention of our 42 minute wait. The exam went fine, but the doctor never asked if we had questions or concerns. He was off the video in a snap and we were left never sharing why were we there. Strange is before the exam we had to fill out a questionnaire but I guess he didn't have time to read it. It was very frustrating. The best part of the visit was the sales women in the store. She was friendly and was the saving grace. I had to ask to talk to the doctor that I had questions and I was told to set up another appointment. So now I have to pay again just to ask questions? Will I have to wait another 42 minutes? Now its past warranty " and would need to buy new pair which I will never do with this company. I'm sure they can be fixed! I was looking for a place to get a new pair of eye glasses before the year of benefit ends. I went to a few other chain places before but they do not accept my insurance plan, but I was finally able to find this place near my house. The inside of the store is huge. All I can see is wall to wall of different eye glass frames displayed through out the store. Seems like a pretty good deal where they offer free eye exams if you purchase the eye glasses there. Since I already got my eye prescription, all I had to do is to pick a frame and decided the types of lenses I wanted. My head got really dizzy while I was trying to look for the frame I like. Sometimes a huge section might be too much of a good thing...LOL! Luckily my wife was there to help me. She knows about my taste so she quickly picked out a few frames for me to choose from. I particularly loved two of them and was finally able to pick the winner. In the end, because of my insurance, I got allowances for frame so it costed me nothing. I also picked the transition lens with anti-glare and anti-scratch and I only paid just about $100.00 for the whole thing. The staff who helped was friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it takes about 2 weeks for me to get my frames, but I am not in an emergency so I am fine by that. read more

Received glasses after waiting over 2 weeks, yeah what happened to them making my single vision glasses onsite ?When i picked them up i told them they did not feel right. He told me try them out for a few weeks and see if my eyes ajust.Keep in mind you have 30 days to let them know if there is an issue and get re checked by the doctor I Called them back for an appointment to get them checked again 2 weeks later like instructed and the only time the REAL Optometrists is on site is twice a month and you have to call not use the website. Well I was offered an appointment that there was no way i could meet(SURGERY) but asked for the following Friday. Well he is not schedule for that day but he would be the following week, which would mean that would be 5 weeks and would no longer be covered. When I asked for a refund it was the exactly same SONG and DANCE. We purchased glasses here a few months ago and with very few uses the glasses broke in half, see the picture I posted. Now they want to charge us for another pair. The glasses are very poor quality the lenses pop out the legs are wobbly. Save your money and go someplace else or you're going to have to buy new glasses every 6 months. My first experience with my eyelab at oakwood plaza. I walked into myeyelab to look at frames & inquire about appointments. Apparently They could take me shortly, so I filled out the paperwork and recall reading something on telemedicine but did not think the eye exam was done on a screen with a doc on screen , well not one you can talk to. In any event all of that went ok, what Im perturbed about is the way the manager just added warranty to each of my frames without asking, she also added 180 to each frame for transition which I told her I wanted tint but she said adding the transition was about $35 xtra so I said ok. Little did I know all the xtra stuff being added to the bill. First of all its a bait & switch. BOGO, bull. I asked for a receipt and she said I will email to you. So I just get a receipt with the total, no break down. When I go to pick up my glasses I ask for a detailed receipt and see all these charges that total $943.00, then they take 60 % so called percent off. Look I have no idea what the insurance paid but for an exam they claim is $69. Again charged $95. You have to ask if I want warranty added, or poly this & that which cost more then the my cheap frames. Make sure you get a detailed explanation and clearly understand all the charges before you go forward. Then seeing how upset I was offered $100 certificates for next time. Well no thanks! read more

I went in for my eye exam on 11/12 going on three weeks and my contact order wasn't submitted until 11/18 so obviously my contacts haven't come in. I left 2 messages with customer service for the "store rep" to call me last week for an update to my order. Still waiting! I had to personally go in to find out the status of my glasses which BTW were ready. I had no contacts nor glasses for 2 weeks. Worst Store! Worst Service. I place an order on may /01/ 2020. First they lost my the glasses I selected and gave me 2 identical. That was an issue. I also placed an order for 2 sun glasses. My husband and I have called every 2 weeks since may to find out the status of my sunglasses, they said they would call and update us today is August5 2020, still no sun glasses. We asked for a refund since the the sun glasses alone cost me over $300.00. They flat out refused to give me a refund. And noel/joel whatever he's called, was the guy we spoke to and he refused to put a supervisor/manager on the phone. When asked when will the supervisor be in, noel/joel refused to tell us stating that he was not allowed to give out that information. Mind you I've dealt with the north Miami location and they have always asked me to call back after letting me know when the person in charge will be in. They even make notes of it! This is the the last time I'll return to this location Ill stick to the one in North miami beach. But I decided to try this one since I was hoping they would have better glasses selection.. I'm contacting corporate, we are at our last straw. I need my money back. After posting this review I received a "sorry for your experience please give us a call in order to resolve the issue" I did however once again the run around. They transfer me to their customer service department and had me on hold for 2 entire hours. I have screen shot to prove it. I recently went to this Eyelab in Oakwood Plaza to have lenses made and to choose frames. I already had the prescription from my Optometrist but her frames were very expensive so I went to Eyelab because they were running a good discount deal. The store is huge and has a wide selection of frames, so I enlisted Michelle (the salesperson on the floor) and she helped me pick out frames that looked really good on me. Even though it was going past their 7pm closing time, Michelle didn't rush me at all. She was very pleasant and friendly and I appreciated that! I ended up buying two pairs of sunglasses and two pairs of regular eyeglasses (they were running a good discount deal). When the glasses were ready for pick up, I stopped by and tried them on. Unfortunately something was very wrong; when I tried on each pair of glasses, everything was blurry. The left lens was worse than the right lens. They asked Dawn, their Optician, to see what was wrong. Dawn was friendly and very patient with me and very thorough in trying to figure out what the problem was. She wanted to find out if the prescription was accurately followed when the lenses were manufactured. She used some kind of calibration instrument to measure the lenses on each pair of glasses, and then compared the measurements to my Dr.'s prescription. Dawn found that the lenses were made correctly, which meant that my Dr. probably didn't measure my eyes correctly. Dawn suggested that I return to my eye Dr. for a "prescription re-check." I had my Dr. do a 2nd eye exam and this time her numbers were different. She wrote a 2nd Prescription and I went back to Eyelab. Dawn was extremely thorough, she had me use some other measuring instrument to check the pupillary distance, then she had me look through another instrument that looked like white binoculars and all the while she was explaining everything to me, writing everything down and she even left written instructions for the lens-makers to do certain things with the frame pads. The whole time, Dawn was very friendly and respectful and she made me feel as if I was Eyelab's best customer! When the new eyeglasses came in, they were PERFECT! "Thank you, DAWN!!" The only issue I had with Eyelab was that it seemed to take very long to make the eyeglasses. Other than that... Dawn, and Michelle and John (their other optician) provided me with excellent customer service! read more

We had a great experience at this location! The store was clean and had a wonderful selection of frames The doctor was great Michelle was the best! She was helpful, professional and so nice to work with. We had an appointment and there was no wait. Overall a terrific experience! Update on return visit: waited one and one half hours past our appointment time to see doctor for an exam! We were the first ones to arrive and afterwards 5 more patients arrived and each one was taken in before us. I don't know what kind of appointment system this is but I can assure you that we will find a new eye doctor next time. I wish I had the option of "no stars" cause I have never been so unhappy with a establishment. They did not have the order ready when they said they would and when I came back to complain they said they did not have control over when the order would be ready. This all happened about two months after the initial order. We specifically asked several times if the order would be ready cause we were going on a trip. I am incredibly disappointed. When I walked in everyone was having a personal conversation, drinking coffee, and no one asked if I needed assistance. Someone finally helped me, she was nice. That is where it ended. I am sorry to give 1 star bad review but...I'll explain. I came in to "my eye lab" store with my wife and baby girl with my current sunglasses(OAKLEY-BIG TACO that we're still made in the USA) to have new Lenses and another glasses frame that I purchased in a different place (because I couldn't find a pair that I liked in the my eye lab store) to fit lenses too and have a current eye exam just to make it right. All the employees at that shift were really nice and treated us with all the information that was needed. I did the eye exam(was long time waiting but that wasn't the issue) and payed for it all. I have been given by the guys all of my recipes and eye exam results after I made my payment and have been told that it will take up to 14 business days so they will contact me when the glasses is ready to come and pick them up. About two weeks later my wife called to check on the progress and have been told that one pair of glasses are ready but the sunglasses "didn't pass inspection" so my wife picked those that have been ready(they're great) and we waited a bit more(about a week). It started to smell fishy when they gave her all kind of excuses like "don't know what's the issue" or "the glasses are still at the lab" or we/manager will get back to you"(happened to many times by them). Eventually my wife demanded the sunglasses back and that the money will be refunded to our account. Few days later we got all the money back and my.....BROKEN made in the the U.S.A Oakley's Now, I know and TOTALLY UNDERSTAND that shit happens and glasses can get broken but what is the reason for lying for so long and treat us as fools(I've been born at night but not last night) I really hope that I'm the first and only customer that had been through that situation. The check in process was bumpy but after that it was smooth sailing. The optician was great and took the time to explain everything and answered all my questions. I made an appointment tor an eye exam and planned to purchase eye glasses due to their ad on TV for 2 pair of complete glasses for 59.95 and a free eye exam. I wear progressive lenses so I assumed those would be a bit more. When I arrived, I was told to look at the lenses until the doctor was ready for me. After about 15 minutes, a gentleman took me into an exam room and ran 3 tests with machines. After that, he had me come out of the room and wait for the doctor. Shortly I was escorted into another room and the doctor was on a TV screen! He wasn't in the room and most likely wasn't in the country! There was a lag time on the TV and I had a difficult time understanding him at times. He tested my eyes via the television screen. I chose my 2 frames because I was told the promotion was buy one get one free. Long story short, I was quoted $502 for my purchase. I would not purchase so she told me she could go talk to the manager and maybe get one for $250....hmmmm. What are they selling? Used cars or eye health care?? read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever. The manager Lynora Is unbelievably unprofessional and corporate allows it. I paid cash on January 23 for my contacts. Took a few weeks to decide what prescriptions suited be best. I was told I needed to pay more money. I spoke with Lenora on February 11th. And told her to place the order she informed me I needed to put down another $131. She gave me her cell phone number and told me to text her my credit card information. I text her back and told her I would be into the store... ?? I have never been asked to text my personal information to a stranger that is a manager in a store. I did not feel comfortable doing this. The next day I went in and I went and asked for a refund.!! They could not find my deposit. Jonathan in the store had finally found the money that was put in an order for a Contacts showing that I placed but never was dispensed?? Lenora Was telephoned by a coworker. She told them I spoke with her yesterday it is my day off I will deal with her tomorrow.??? Unacceptable. I gave my money to Eyelab not to Lenora. Not feeling comfortable.. I've had to call corporate. Of course I was in the store for another hour and a half. I was told corporate will call me back..They told me it takes 24 to 48 hours turnaround time to respond and get a conclusion in regards to a refund. After me calling back several times they finally called back February 14.and told me they were going to put the order in if I would like and I would not have to pay anything extra for the inconvenience. I said fine so we can be done with this it has been over a month. I had to wait for a call back that never came. I have called every day!!Called on Presidents' Day I assumed they were closed no answer. The next day I corresponded with over 4 emails it was promised a call back!! still no call back??? I stated in the email I wanted either my contacts ordered or my refund by the end of day. Remind you were over a week now and still no one is authorized to give me my refund. I called them again after 5:00 PM was on the phone another hour and a half.The following day they told me it will take 30 days for them to send me a refund.Absolutely the worst experience unacceptable. And not to mention I could not even get a paper receipt when I gave them a $230 cash payment. So February 18 they will issue a refund that will take another 30 days until I receive it!!!! read more
