Everyone was very welcoming and reassuring and walked me through each step, including helping me select a nice pair of frames. Dr. Kay helps you feel at ease and is happy to answer any and all questions one might have at any point of the exams. He explains what each assessment does and how it helps him determine the best course of action to improve one's vision. He seems to really like to get to know his patients and is always handy with a quip to keep it light and help patients feel comfortable. Three weeks ago, I had a full eye examination with Dr. Wise, an ophthalmologist (MD) in Florida. Since I have worn glasses since high school, all I needed at this visit was a new prescription after losing my glasses. Last year, I also had a full exam at LensCrafters in Aventura, where the front desk clearly explained all costs and insurance coverage before my appointment. That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. I believe this is a fair resolution given the lack of transparency and communication at my appointment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Since we were in the area, my husband beelined me to Dr. Strauss' office. Upon arrival, Tasha welcomed us and listened compassionately to my crisis. She immediately spoke with Dr. Strauss whom immediately made time to see me. I was taken care of with the utmost kindness. As usual, and fortunately for me, Dr. Strauss is a non-alarmist yet extremely thorough. She asked me pertinent questions about my condition and took her time throughout the entire examination. She ensured that this panicked patient felt safe and calm. And I was. Thank God, all was well. The next day, today, Dr. Strauss personally called to check on how I was feeling, how my eye was doing and with her recommendations. This was both refreshing and greatly appreciated. I have been to 5 different eye institutes ranging from optometrists to ophthalmology over the past 3 years with the complaint of cloudy vision following artificial lens implants (including the practice who implanted the lenses) and was always dismissed and misdiagnosed. Today - I felt heard and understood and was reassured that what I was experiencing was valid. They put me through a ton of different exams and reassured me that the implants were ok and I didn't need glasses or contacts and they put collagen plugs in my tear ducts right then and there and my vision is already almost perfect. They also offered me a follow up appointment with other options of this doesn't clear my issue. I am also a physician and understand how important "hearing " a patient is- and I was heard and understood and I am so grateful and happy for this amazing group of physicians and staff. The issue is, I never made an appointment and have no idea who these doctors are and how they got my information. I sent them a message asking them to correct their information. The next thing I know, I receive a survey thanking me for the visit (which obviously didn't occur) and asking me to complete the survey. Again, I sent a message asking them to look in to this issue. I never received any response. They then sent a notification another appointment was set up. I sent another message asking them to contact me as to why this is happening when I'm not their patient. They never responded. I received another reminder today and asked for a response which I'm still waiting for. I'm concerned that they may have billed Medicare under my information without me seeing them, or someone is using my information. I have repeatedly asked them to email me how this has happened as I want the information in written form and the last thing I want to do is give them my phone number to call me back and add that to their documentation. I would be concerned to go to this office due to not only this error, but the lack of communication on their part to correct this error.

I booked a basic eye exam and filled out the form online, they quickly checked me in and told me to wait in the waiting area whilst they pulled up my paper work. The system wasn't working so I had to fill it out again in person which was no big deal it literally took 2 min. The lady that took me into the first room to take my prescription and images of my eye was very sweet and kind! Walked me through the process without any issues and explained everything clearly, she also offered an added test for better views of my eyes but I declined. I kept blinking every time she did the air puff part and she was super patient and just repeated them for me. The doctor was so funny and so personable! She made the exam so easy and made me feel so comfortable, made conversation and made me laugh a few times Nicolas was also great, he answered every question I had about purchasing my glasses and upgrading any services I needed. I loved that everyone was kind and not sales-y at all! They weren't pushy about any added services or products, they simply offered them and moved on if I said no. That actually made me upgrade to the exam plus two glasses instead of just the exam.
