I even made an appointment for a procedure for the next day and they said my insurance would cover it! The next day, I receive a phone call from the office to let me know that my insurance was not excepted and that the procedure would cost me $750. This was very unprofessional. Clueless staff. I went ahead and made an appointment to go see Dr. Rand. Dr. Mendelson is a great doctor but his staff is not that adequate. Please be aware that the front desk has no knowledge of insurance policies and I was put through something that should never have happened.

She told me she could not see me and referred me to the an ophthalmologist. That opthamologist gave me the same diagnosis. I was not happy with his bedside manner. Besides that, I wanted another opinion from an opthamologist. So, I ended up seeing Dr. Wolfe. He diagnosed the same thing. He suggested that I have an LPI surgery. I had 20/20 vision but this is something that is not detectable by me, did not affect my vision. I would have never known about this had I not gone for semi regular eye exams. So make sure you go for your eye exam because you never know. Anyway, Dr. Wolfe did an excellent job of opening my angles. He explained every step of the way to me. He has steady hands and while it was no picnic, it was bearable. And let me tell you....I am a big baby! I don't even like to get blood drawn let alone anything to do with my eyes. I go for yearly check-ups to make sure everything is still okay and hopefully it will continue to be. He's very professional and speaks on a level that I feel comfortable with. Sometimes doctors like to talk in a way that is very sophisticated with their medical terms. I recommend him for a regular exam or hopefully nobody needs a surgery like I did.

She was great, kind, energetic, and finally gave me a diagnosis that explained what had been going on with my eyes. I felt hopeful after that visit. After completing the 10-day treatment, my eyes were better still not right after I stopped. I called the office on March 11 and left a voicemail. I eventually received a call back and was told to continue treatment and come back in sooner, so I scheduled a follow-up for March 30. I also asked for a refill on my eye drops and was told it would be called into my pharmacy. That never happened. I called again and left another voicemail. No response. I waited about a week, called again, and still no response and no prescription called in. At that point, I had no way to continue the treatment I was told to follow and my follow up appt was approaching. Today, Friday March 27, I received a call from Jose asking if I was keeping my Monday March 30 appointment. I explained the situation and said that would depend on the doctor wants, since I had not been able to continue treatment due to the prescription never being sent in. Instead of addressing the issue, he repeatedly asked if I wanted to cancel. When I asked about the cancellation policy, he said there would be a fee if not within 24 hours, so I told him to cancel. When I asked for his name, he avoided answering and kept talking. I had to ask multiple times before he finally said his name was Jose and started spelling it even though I didn't ask for it. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily frustrating. I'm not going to lie, he pissed me off. Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. The doctor seemed great - although I didn't know my condition was chronic until I looked it up on the internet. The lack of follow-through, poor communication, and unprofessional front office experience completely undermined the care. It is unacceptable to leave a patient without access to prescribed treatment and then push them to keep an appointment anyway. Very disappointing.

I have been to 5 different eye institutes ranging from optometrists to ophthalmology over the past 3 years with the complaint of cloudy vision following artificial lens implants (including the practice who implanted the lenses) and was always dismissed and misdiagnosed. Today - I felt heard and understood and was reassured that what I was experiencing was valid. They put me through a ton of different exams and reassured me that the implants were ok and I didn't need glasses or contacts and they put collagen plugs in my tear ducts right then and there and my vision is already almost perfect. They also offered me a follow up appointment with other options of this doesn't clear my issue. The issue is, I never made an appointment and have no idea who these doctors are and how they got my information. I sent them a message asking them to correct their information. The next thing I know, I receive a survey thanking me for the visit (which obviously didn't occur) and asking me to complete the survey. Again, I sent a message asking them to look in to this issue. I never received any response. They then sent a notification another appointment was set up. I sent another message asking them to contact me as to why this is happening when I'm not their patient. They never responded. I received another reminder today and asked for a response which I'm still waiting for. I'm concerned that they may have billed Medicare under my information without me seeing them, or someone is using my information. I have repeatedly asked them to email me how this has happened as I want the information in written form and the last thing I want to do is give them my phone number to call me back and add that to their documentation. Once again I was escorted into a waiting room and told to keep my eyes closed. I waited at least 45 minutes when I was finally called into a room where guess what I had to wait at least 20 minutes before the doctor came in who looked in my eyes with some kind of machine and also with a bright light. He said your fine your eyes are healthy. This took all of 5 minutes. I could not belive I was there for almost three hours. I will never go back to this doctor. My time is just as valuable as his.
