I must say the office is outstanding. For her first visit she was put through many detailed technologically advanced diagnostic testing, they checked everything from peripheral vision, to multiple scans on the back of the eye, and the front. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain in detail what every test was and why it's important to check for glaucoma and other eye diseases. Then we met Dr. Mendelsohn, he was a very thoughtful and insightful physician. He explained in great detail that my mom had developed cataracts and recommended surgery that should done with laser and a new state of the art Panoptix Pro lens. He took his time explaining the process of cataract surgery and we went forward with it. Dr. Alec Chaleff was the cataract surgeon for the practice and he was nothing but a miracle worker. He restored my mom's vision to the point she can see very small details and things far away without glasses. I couldn't be happier that my mom did cataract surgery with Dr. Mendelsohn and Dr. Chaleff. Highly recommend everyone to do cataract surgery with this office.

They said the side effects when only last 20 minutes. Anyways at the end of the visit they gave me two options for cataract surgery $5,000 for one lens and $10,000 for two lens. It was a big surprise and I had no idea I would have to go get a loan. I called them later to see if they could do standard cataract surgery and they said no. When I left their office I was blind they gave me some kind of sunglasses to put on. I had to make two stops on the way home because I couldn't see at all and I asked people for directions how to get home I asked four people people and nobody had the answer To get to Hiatus Road from Sheridan Street I didn't get home until after 7 30 PM that night I had quite a panic attack trying to make it home. He has wonderful reviews he's a great surgeon but they would not help me at all to have standard cataract surgery. I'm very disappointed. Plus my medicare benefits have been quite reduced by the presidential Administration in the United States

However, I didn't meet with the doctor Amanda until around 12:50. I tried to show her several pictures, but she glanced at one before proceeding to examine my eyes with equipment. She requested me to adjust my body to have a better view for her, which surprised me as it was the first time an eye doctor had asked me to do so. It's easier for her to adjust her chair and the equipment. After about one minute of examination, she began preparing a prescription and instructed me to schedule another appointment for one week later. As I returned to the waiting room, I overheard a patient speaking to Amanda in Spanish and expressing it is a wrong prescription. Amanda replied "I know...". The receptionist translated their conversation over the counter. The receptionist said she would email me the invoice/receipt of copay. However, I have contacted the clinic multiple times, my calls often go unanswered or are placed on hold indefinitely. My FSA provider required this documentation for approval. After over a week of waiting, they still haven't sent to me.

Keep calling and no one picks up, it goes to full voicemail. No wonder it barely has any reviews.

The issue is, I never made an appointment and have no idea who these doctors are and how they got my information. I sent them a message asking them to correct their information. The next thing I know, I receive a survey thanking me for the visit (which obviously didn't occur) and asking me to complete the survey. Again, I sent a message asking them to look in to this issue. I never received any response. They then sent a notification another appointment was set up. I sent another message asking them to contact me as to why this is happening when I'm not their patient. They never responded. I received another reminder today and asked for a response which I'm still waiting for. I'm concerned that they may have billed Medicare under my information without me seeing them, or someone is using my information. I have repeatedly asked them to email me how this has happened as I want the information in written form and the last thing I want to do is give them my phone number to call me back and add that to their documentation. I would be concerned to go to this office due to not only this error, but the lack of communication on their part to correct this error.

I feel very comfortable there and always trust the results there and their opinions. There is never any wait time, I am usually in the door and out with a complete eye check up in less than an hour. PROS: Rarely any waiting time.Sunday hours. Plenty of convenient parking , one minute from your car to the front desk. Very professional and efficient office in all respects. Doctor will go over each test with you and discuss the results. Doctor will patiently answer all of your questions afterwards. Doctor will give you his cell phone number in case of emergencies. CONS: none I really dislike doctors visits, appointments, etc. this may sound crazy, but I almost look forward to my exam and seeing Dr. Mendelsohn and his staff.

My very first routine annual eye exam with Dr. Satanosky was fine. However, when I came to pick up…read moremy contacts and was charged nearly $150, I soon realized something was amiss. I have full coverage for an annual eye exam as well as an annual amount allocated for contacts, which I had NOT EXCEEDED! I asked for an explanation and was given a VAGUE response. Not wanting to make waves, I left with plans to get the specifics from my insurance company. The Doctors office billed 3 routine codes. My insurance company paid for each code as per their contractual agreement with the proprietor. As per my summary statement, my insurance not only fulfilled their financial responsibility but my share was ZERO! I should NOT have been charged a penny! As per my insurance company, it was verified that I owed NOTHING! An insurance representative called the Doctor's office and initially was told the charge was for the contact fitting. The rep explained the fitting was covered under the code they submitted. Contact fittings were embedded within that code therefore, it was all inclusive. I wasn't reimbursed and subsequently my insurance company representative called again and the Dr. gave an entirely DIFFERENT explanation. Again I wasn't reimbursed. I finally went to the office and spoke to the lady responsible for the billing. Her explanation left my head spinning. She STATED the charge for the contact lenses (which they were 100% reimbursed for) was ADDED to the charge for the contact lense fitting (which they were paid for as well, per their agreement with the insurance company). Regardless, they took that COMBINED total and subtracted my yearly CONTACT BENEFIT amount. They referred to this as "my insurance benefit". This was puzzling since the yearly contact benefit amount DOES NOT represent my complete ophthalmology benefit. Furthermore, they had ALREADY BEEN REIMBURSED so why were they adding the full charges for both the contacts as well as the fitting ?? Seems like double billing to me. After that obscure calculation, they actually had the nerve to BILL ME FOR THE DIFFERENCE EVEN THOUGH I OWED NOTHING FOR MY SHARE!! I wasn't responsible for one cent as per my insurance and their contractual agreement with the proprietor. I NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN BILLED!! I pointed out all the above to the lady in billing, ESPECIALLY THE FACT THEY INCLUDED ALREADY REIMBURSED FEES IN THEIR CALCULATIONS. All the lady could say was "this is how we've always done it" leaving me to wonder how many patients have been wrongly charged over the years. It's a fact that Insurance fraud costs us all with increased premiums!
