My insurance covers $300.00. They instructed me to a wall with about 10 frames that were cheap looking and cost about $20.00 so they're trying to tell me I have to pay $280.00 for single vision lenses that are just for reading. When I asked again, I was told yes, this is what they covered. Would not break down the lenses and frames separately. I called a few optical stores and the going prices for regular single vision polycarbonate lenses are between $60.00 to $120.00 dollars so are they trying to charge $180.00 dollars for frames that look like mediicaid frames. Do not buy glasses from this place and shop around as they are trying to rip off customers. I understand making a profit but cheap looking frames for almost $200.00, I don't think so. Reading glasses in pharmacy look better than these frames.

I went to see Dr. Preschel based on the referral of my sister's cataract surgery doctor; she said…read moreshe would only allow Dr Preschel to do surgery on her eyes if she ever needed it. That spoke volumes to me. Of course I do my homework and check out every doctor's background like lawsuits complaints licensing issues etc. and Dr. Preschel is super squeaky clean and stellar! I worked with his office to get the correct insurance coverage so I could see him. He saw me in January 2020 and did surgery in February 2020. We had our last in office followup March 2020 due to COVID. We weren't able to follow up as much as he would have liked however we did follow up in late July 2020. Everything was perfect and my vision the best it had been in memory. I go back to him every single year, I don't trust anyone else with my eyes. What he did for me was above and beyond. I had had Lasik in 2005 - that complicates cataract surgery. The man is incredibly brilliant so he has his own algorithm that he uses to take measurements based on the cataract lenses needed and the Lasik surgery already performed. My lenses are perfect and while I do use reading glasses who cares? I can buy those cheap anywhere. The fact of the matter is I see better than I can remember. I would recommend Dr. Preschel 100% to anyone! Don't buy into the BS that you have to wait until your cataracts are "ripe". Dr. Preschel can explain to you that is total garbage. It's the insurance companies way to be cheap. My mother waited and a year later she died from pancreatic cancer not knowing she could've had her good vision for years before she passed away. I will never forget that and I will never forgive that doctor for making my mother be mostly blind waiting on the insurance company to say it was OK. Dr. Preschel does other medical surgeries/treatments like for glaucoma (which I may have a small amount due to congenital eyes disease that I have). I already know he does miracles for eyes so why go somewhere else? His office staff are nice, professional but they don't take any BS. Call them and make 100% sure your insurance works with them up front. Don't go there and find out they don't the day of your appointment. It is not their job to make your insurance work for you. I'll repeat that again, it is not their job to make your insurance work for you. Dr. Preschel will spend a lot of time with you for your initial visit so plan on a couple of hours. I would rather he took his time and was thorough than rush me through and missed something important. If that's not the kind of doctor you're looking for than you probably shouldn't go there but if you're looking for a doctor who is invested in your eye health then Dr. Preschel is your doctor.

When I got there, the front desk staff were nice and welcoming! Within minutes I was called in and taken to a room to get some test done. Then, I waited for another minute or two and saw the doctor for the consultation. Even though everything happened quick, they made sure to take their time. Nothing felt rushed, which I loved! After the doctor gave me my prescription, I left. You can choose to order your glasses or contacts from them directly or from a different vendor. They don't over sell you. I came back later that day and picked out my frames & lenses. The staff again were really kind and patient as I tried different frames on. They even went to the back to check for add'l colors/frames. I also chose to get my glasses from them because my insurance covered most of the comprehensive exam and the frames! When you call to make your appointment make sure to ask if they accept your insurance! It's a plus!! Can't wait to pick up my new glasses!
