Received very rude customer service from a man named Dan at this location. My mother and I went in to get eye exams before she had to go to work. I wanted to get glasses but we were a bit short on time so she wanted to wait and come back tomorrow. When my mother told Dan she wasn't buying glasses today, he said, "Why would you come and get an exam here if you didn't want to buy glasses?" We were so embarassed, and I just picked a couple pairs off of the wall, bought them, and then left. I didn't want to spend money here after that but we just wanted to leave without being troublesome. Overall, we felt very uncomfortable and pressured into buying frames, which is not what good customer service is about. They were also not upfront about their pricing deals. The optometrist I had was nice and personal but after the interaction with Dan I will never be coming to this location again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone else. I had an appt on 12/30/18 and it took one hour to see the optometrist because the wait was so long. Anyway after spending almost 3 hours there, I ordered contacts and lenses for my glasses. The new computer system wouldn't accept the order of just lenses for my frames, so the tech wrote my order on a paper form. It's now 3 weeks later and I never heard back to pick up my order. I have been calling all weekend and the front desk has not gotten back to me about what happened to my order. When I call the front desk line directly, no one answers and I'm on hold for so long. I am one of the federal employees working with no pay, and I paid over $200 for my eye exam, contacts, & lenses. Update: To get assistance, I had to visit in person and was told they forgot my order, so it was never processed. At least they were kind & helpful in person and submitted a new order. They admitted that there was no excuse for the lack of customer service. But I would never go back, because I don't trust them anymore. Update: I returned to get the new prescription lenses installed on my eyeglass frames. The technician who installed the new lenses gave me back the glasses without checking if they fit properly. I noticed the frames were stretched out and after I left I noticed the glasses were falling off easily. So I took my glasses to a different optometry center and was told the lenses were not cut down to the right size and causing the frames to be really stretched out. My frames are expensive Bebe designer frames. I am very surprised Stanton did not check the fit and see the issue right away. One issue after another. read more

This is worst place I have ever been to get eye glasses. This year I switched my eye glass place to Stanton Optical - one of the worst decisions of my life. This place has the worst customer service and management ever. Stanton tried to scam me for my money! The assistant manager, (don't remember his name but has blonde hair and heavyset) said my glasses were a total of 76$. My mother was with me and going over the receipt and found out the last time we had visited we paid 25$ for a replacement pair of glasses. The assistant manager tried to say for a replacement of lens and frames was 70$. We didn't realize until we were almost out of the store, this place is horrific! Do not go here if you are planning on a quick trip as everything takes 2 hours for absolutely no reason. If I could give this place negative stars I would. read more

Very bad customer service. I made an appt that they couldn't find in their system. They told me to come another day for a walk in, which I did, but I called one hour before to make sure they can talk walk ins. They made me wait for an hour. I had my 6 months old baby with me and had to breastfead the baby. I asked for the manager and i was told is in a conference call. I waited another half of hour and spoke to someone else that actually called the manager. I asked him about the conference call and he said he was in no conference call. I'm trying to be as fair as possible by giving them two stars (only because in the end I did manage to wrestle my money back from them, er, they honored their refund policy after a fight), but if I could do this over, I would have paid more somewhere else and saved myself a lot of time and stress. The frames were poor quality and I couldn't see through the lenses despite the prescription being correct (Other opticians I consulted have guessed that this was down to the type of lens material used and a poorly done anti-glare coating). They had to be cleaned all the time and even when cleaned by my usual eye doc, they were perpetually smeary. When I asked for the refund they have posted on their site, Jerrell first told me it didn't exist (that there was only a 24 hour cancellation policy and I'd already gone beyond that, so there was nothing they could do) and then, when I pulled it up on my phone and showed it to him, he told me that it only covered the prescription. Jerrell was nice, very personable, just clearly first and foremost a salesman. He repeatedly told me either that the glasses were fine (it's just the way you're cleaning them, or, this is a higher quality lens than you're used to, etc) or that ANSI didn't cover the problems I was having. He eventually called over the general manager who was pleasant for a moment or two while giving me the same lines the salesman had. Then, when I again suggested that the lenses and coatings might not be up to ANSI standards, even if the prescription was, and that either way - I couldn't see well enough to drive safely, he told me that it was impossible that they weren't up to standard. That they had "specialists check every pair of glasses" before they left the place where they were made and they never would have been shipped out if they weren't "100% up to ANSI standards" so, gee you see, no refund was possible. **head spinning** So you have a refund policy that is honored only if glasses aren't up to ANSI standards, but you've just said that it's literally not possible for your glasses to not be up to ANSI standards? He then said "I won't stand here and keep arguing with you. We've completed our end of things" and then he walked away, instructing the salesman to do nothing, they'd done what they could. I hope he'd just had a bad day because that is some *terrible* general managering. Fast forward so I'm not writing a novel here, I eventually (after another 30 minutes or so) gave up and went home. They said they'd remake them and I felt I had no choice but to go with that (though I had no faith they'd be decent at this point). When I told my husband, he called them and...lo and behold, he got us the refund. I'm satisfied with the ending of this, and concede that they do have the cheapest lenses in town. However, their lenses are notoriously poor quality (having now read how many other people have recently had the same issues with them) and their staff first and foremost want your money. I went in for an exam and fitting and that went well. But I called and requested a copy of the breakdown of charges for my insurance. They said they would fax it. I called 3 times and have yet to recieve the paper work. I called today because I needed a copy of my eye exam for work. I provided my email but never got the information. I would suggest it for anyone needing to get an eye exam and glasses. I got help from a women name Kristine she was super helpful, friendly, professional, and moves with urgency.When I received my glasses everything was done correctly and they fit perfectly. One star and they don't even deserve one. I wish I would have read the reviews before I got my glasses there. I don't know anything about the doctor, I had a prescription from my own doctor. This is the most unprofessional eye glass stores I have ever been to. They lied, said I would buy and get one free, never happened, lost my order and when I called in I got blown off several times, until I called the corporate office and she made them straighten out the problem. Then when I finally got the "one" pair, workmanship sucked. They are rimless and are crooked, I can see out the distance but the reading area is horrible. It's just a matter of time before the lens will break because the screw hole on one of the lens is so close to the edge that there is no way you can adjust them without breaking them and they may have already been broken as you can feel the outside rim where the screw is. I am so discussed with the place and next step may be to turn them in to better business! They have no business even being in business!!! Horrible horrible horrible! Run! I walked into Stanton Optical in Fair Oaks to look at the frames for glasses. Much to my surprise, they have a great selection and I need new glasses so I went ahead and made the appointment with the Optometrist who was outstanding. Time to select frames and see the Optometrist and pay $45 for the exam was about 30 minutes. The issues began after being in the store for about 5 minutes. Trying to concentrate on what I'm looking for was difficult at best with the stereo inside blaring quite loudly. No one working there seemed to mind but all the way through the exam, the external noise was aggravating. After the exam, I needed to run home before making my final frame selection and paying for the glasses. I asked for my prescription and was told that a manager would need to provide that for me. After waiting 30 more minutes and being ignored, I was finally asked if I could be helped and again, asked for my prescription and for them to hold my frame selections for less than an hour while I ran home. This happened once again after another 10 minutes of waiting. I finally walked over to the manager and young lady and asked for my prescription. I was told by the manager that he was "busy with another customer" which until this point he had not been. I need glasses but am not blind. Admittedly, I lost my temper and now told the manager I wanted my prescription and that the music was far too loud in his store and that I wouldn't be making any purchase of anything else there, just give me my f'ing prescription. The manager, Dan then believed that he was going to tell me what choice of words I could use pissing me off even more. Finally, after 15 more minutes of waiting, a staff person was sent back to the Optometrist to handwrite a prescription for me so I could leave....2 hours later I'm finally out of there. Something is very wrong here and if you've taken the time to read this, don't waste your time going to this business. I've never been anywhere to have any kind of exam that required a prescription where it wasn't handed to me at the conclusion of the exam. The belief or technique that is being used here is to hold the prescription that you paid for hostage until they have an order from you. Of course, their time is valuable and yours is not so getting bent is not acceptable to them. My ultimate advice: DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. read more

There were a LOT of negative reviews here, at least as many bad as good... So I decided to roll the dice as it sounded like a good deal. I arrive and first thing I do is tell the guy at the front I am there for a *contact lens* appointment. He takes me to the optometrist and explains how they will charge me $49 and then credit it back to me when I come back over to buy whatever I needed. They then charged me $79 for the appointment, but I figured it was a miscommunication, I'd take care of it and then get it back on the "business" side (yeah, right). The guy I spoke to originally (turns out he was the manager) was busy, so had another young lady help me. I told her I was there for the contact lens deal on their site (which I had told them when I made the appt., and what I told him when I came in) and she had no idea what I was talking about. She looked it up on the site, and then started to talk to me about getting the glasses. I told her I didn't need the glasses (I was told on the phone I would get a $50 credit if I needed to get some) when she tells me to qualify I need to also buy glasses. We discuss this for a few, she talks to her manager, and then comes back and moves on (making it sound like they may overlook this) and asks me what brand lenses he prescribed. I told her I wasn't sure, so she went to ask and returned to tell me the brand they prescribed and the trials they gave me were the wrong brand and I couldn't qualify for the deal. I asked her why I would have gotten the wrong brand when I've so far told 3 people the deal I was there for (not including the person on the phone that I made the appt. with) and asked if they actually communicate with the optician? She said they should, but they don't. She then said she could order me a trial of the brand needed for the special and I stopped her there... "Wait, you limit this deal to this one brand, but you don't even have trials OF that brand in stock??". Nope, they don't. We start talking price and I say the original quote was for $129 that included the exam, two boxes of lenses, the lens supplies, and $50 credit for glasses if needed... Then she tells me she can order me the amount of lenses I would have gotten for $126 (two boxes of 6) and started to say that she is getting me a better deal than I expected when I point out that she isn't including the exam in the price, so it's gone from $129 to just over $200. She starts to haggle again, I just stop her at this point and tell her after I try them for a week I'll just come back for my prescription and buy my lenses elsewhere and turn and walk out... I'm sorry for the wall of text, just had to get that out... The short version is that someone else that posted a review likened them to used car salesmen, and I think that pretty well sums it up. Except car salesmen have tired me out and at times chased me off, these people just pissed me of. I rolled the dice here, I came up with craps. The optometrist was just fine (although to be honest, I was a little hesitant that his exam room is a small corner room with all the drain pipes from the top of the building running through it), but the part where you buy the glasses, AVOID. Probably the worst experience I've ever had buying glasses/contacts, and I've been wearing glasses for closing in on 30 years, and contacts off and on for over 20... Oh and BTW, their various specials may lead you to believe they have some killer deals, but frankly their pricing isn't that great if you want something half way decent with some options. They can easily jack the prices up with a few manipulations here and there. As I said, their contact lens prices were high, for the two boxes she was going to cut me a deal on at $126, I found online for $30ish apiece, or $44.95 at WalMart. read more

Fast forward a week or so. I get no call back. so finally I gave them a call and asked about my glasses and contacts. they say the glasses are ready but not the contacts. so I go to pick my glasses up and that's when I noticed the first mistake. they were completely wrong and different than what I had chosen... I immediately went back in and told the guy that I wasn't going to be wearing the glasses and that I either wanted a refund or a new pair. he obliged and let me choose a new pair. I picked them out and he said they'd be done in about a week. I was originally upset about it, but hey everyone's human and humans make mistakes. so I let it slide. thinking maybe they just made an honest mistake. the contacts were the worst thing I've ever had to deal with. I ordered a whole years worth of contacts (which were pretty pricy) I told them I wanted the Contact Blends in green. NOT FULL COLORED CONTACTS. COLOR BLENDS. they scribbled it down on their paper and put the order in. they once again told me the same bs story about how they'd call me when they were in. NEVER HAPPENED. so once again, I give them a call. they say "oh yes, your contacts are in. come on down when ever you can". now at this point I was pretty damn irritated. I get down there pick the contacts up and head up. not even thinking about opening the box before I leave the shitty Stanton optical. so I get home and I'm opening my contacts and I notice that they're BLUE. not even color blend. just a full blown color contact. so I call them once again and complain. they assure me they'll get the order right this next time. I go back in already pissed off and hating everyone there. they take the contacts and I leave. another week goes by, and I still have to call them. -_- f**king bs. I go back in for the contacts. and they're still the wrong color!! even though the woman looked me straight in the eye and told me she double checked herself. back to the glasses story.... so while dealing with the contact debacle my glasses had come in. I also went to pick these up. I go to put them on my head and they just slide right off.... they didn't even properly measure my head correctly. I went in 4 times to have this simple and easy thing fixed. they couldn't even do that. they were to incompetent to fix a simple problem... I finally decide to call them and complain about the glasses and the contacts. I tell the manager what had happened and he tells me "maybe you should have stayed in the store and banged your head about so that way we could actually see if they fit" what the hell?! you have got to be kidding me, right? there is no way in hell I'm going to stand around any where and band my head around. not to mention the first time I went to return my contact mishap the guy who originally helped jerrel was a total dick and tried saying I was lying. that I had ordered blue. and full blown color contacts as well. I was just like you have got to be kidding me. I just over $900 on this shitty ass establishment and you're calling me a liar. ZERO STARS! WORST BUSINESS EVER! I was lured here by the $78 for two pairs of glasses. After paying $361, I realized that was just a scam to get people in the door. I selected two pairs and asked for them to be put on hold while I contacted my eye doctor for my prescription but was told they can't hold items. That right there should have been a red flag for me to leave because that means they are using the display frames to make your glasses, not new ones from a stock inventory. But being desperate I went ahead and bought them. It worried me that the lady helping me was new (been there two weeks) because she had many questions for the other staff to complete my order so I wasn't sure if she would get my prescription right. Again, desperation made me ignore that. Less than 24 hours later, I happened to go on yelp and read the reviews. I wish I had read them before making the terrible mistake of giving this business my money. I immediately called to cancel my order. Associate I spoke to said I would be able to cancel it (my credit card was still pending the order) and she would have the manager process it and call if they had any issues. Phew, or so I thought. Next day, I check my credit card and the transaction was finalized so I call to check that they indeed cancelled by order. Person I spoke to had no idea (guess they don't keep records?!) and told me she would speak to the manager. Calls me back and says they will refund $150.00...I tell her NO my order was for $361! She says manager is helping another client but will call me back ASAP. Two hours go by, no call, so I call them, put on hold for 10 minutes. Hang up, call again, demand to speak to manager. Manager says says my glasses were made so now I can't get a full refund, only partial refund. I ask is that why you will only give me $150? And he says no, that call was meant for another Kathleen who they confused me with, wtf?! I told them it's not my fault that the first associate didn't cancel my order when I asked and Stanton made them anyways. Manager still refuses to give me my full money back (I haven't even picked up the glasses yet), said he will only give me half back ($180) when I come to pick up the glasses. So I filed a credit card dispute and had the money refunded by my credit card company. After all this, Stanton just called five minutes ago to let me know my glasses are ready for pick up....wow, they are so unorganized and unprofessional. read more

Let me start this review off with I tried this place against my better judgement. I should have listened myself and I would have not had to deal with a bunch of liars. The sales reps at this place are like bad used car salesmen. Ok I went to Stanton on a Sat afternoon with prescription in hand and looking to get a pair of back up glasses. The process selecting and purchasing glasses went smoothly. When I finished the transaction to pay, I was not given a date in which my order will be ready. After several days pass I call and I was told they will be ready the day before Thanksgiving. Well that day passes and a few more days passed and still no glasses. Today I called and asked to speak to a supervisor and I was given to DON. Don claimed to be the general manager and after I told him I wanted a refund he told me that he does not have the power to give refunds. I'm thinking to myself, "General manager" and you don't have the power to give refunds. Ok I'm done with Stanton. They are the absolute worst and their sales associates are no better than used car salesman who are untruthful and swarm you when you walk in I should have checked YELP before I decided to go to this lack of customer service store. I didn't understand why the service in the other reviews was so bad but my experience is a relatively pleasant one. When I walked in, someone immediately came to ask if I need help with finding frames, or eye exams or contacts. And since I was there to get frames, he gave me a box to hold my selection of glasses. I came in mostly for the buy one get one deal so I know I would be choosing 2 frames to order. The price is what I didn't like. Even though it's not brand names, most of the frames were $99 and the lowest I saw was $59 and that's a select few of frames that was pretty uncomfortable to wear. When I picked out one of the frames, I put it down somewhere and couldn't find it so one of the workers actually helps me scout the area to look for the burgundy glasses that I really liked. She was consistently on her feet the whole time and always helpful when I come to ask questions. Now the only thing I was iffy with was when we sat down to calculate the total amount. The original price of $350 was quickly dropped to 300 and then 240 something when my dad thought it was too expensive in the beginning and wanted to leave. She said she gave me discounts on my frame and the add-ons and the eye-exam discount even though I didn't have an exam. I mean, I completely appreciate it but I didn't like that it was happening so quickly as if they hike up the prices until the customer starts acting up. It just felt like all sorts of SHADES was happening. My dad was worried they would not have the add-ons like they promised (like protection from scratches and anti-reflective) but I got both of my glasses within a week and I checked and everything was good. The people at the lab fixed the frames a bit to help it fit better so the service still stands strong in my opinion. I would recommend coming here and I would tip that you should try bargaining for a lesser price. read more

Earlier this year I went to Stanton Optical because they have an awesome Bait-and-Switch offer that I was dying to be a part of. The offer of 2 COMPLETE pairs of glasses for $78 is BS. I left with one pair costing $350 and a "free" pair. I have scratches on my lenses that are not supposed to scratch because I paid a ton for protective coating and they are just, plain, over-priced. There were no frames coming close to $78, let alone two complete pairs. How these crooks are still in business is beyond me. I had no idea how truly scammed I was until today when I went into Sam's Club to buy new prescription sunglasses because I lost that friggin $350 pair of glasses. So I recently purchased a pair of eye glasses from these clowns. The optometrist was fine, and I have no issue with her. The quality of the product and the customer service however were atrocious. I'm now 3 months from the time of purchase, using only soft cotton cloth to clean btw, and the lenses are scratched to the point that they are difficult to see through. The plastic on the arms has been loose from day one, but having worn glasses for about 30 years now, I'm used to little things like this. Today was the worst though, while cleaning them, the arm cracked the lens...Go to Costco, I have had the same pair from them for about 10 years, and the only reason I went for new ones was a script change.
