The receptionist could care less being there, the doctor didn't listen when I kept saying everything was blurry on my bi- focal (i don't have any issues seeing up close) and even suggested to me I shouldn't use my phone as much because it's just me not adjusting to her prescription. I have a job that requires use of a cell phone, text messages, and emails. That response was a very out-of-touch response. During the exam, she kept asking me which slide was clearer but nothing was changing in the machine. When I commented I can't tell the difference, she got agitated with me and just kept repeating, slide 1 or 2. i have had exams in the past, and something always clicks in the machine so it's clear difference between slides but nothing was happening with this machine. I finally did my best to answer but I think I ended up undermining myself. I was then fitted with a contact lens, given a couple of samples but then told, save the last one for the doctor. So I could wear them 3 days to see if they worked. It gave me a terrible headache and only figured out the adjustment period is actually three weeks (AI taught me that, not the doctor). I paid $150 in contact exam, fitting, and whatever else fees and none of that was discussed with me ahead of time. When I called back to ask questions I was brushed off being told the doctor will explain that to you next time. I don't usually take time to write reviews because I don't honestly think these companies care. I am just so tired Of having to over-advocate for myself every time I go to a doctor because their boredom/arrogance keeps getting in the way.

My husband and I thought we'd be proactive and take care of some much-needed eye exams, along with picking up two pairs of glasses. Simple enough, right? Well, upon arrival, we were told that surprise, there was no optometrist onsite. You see, instead of a real, human eye doctor, we were treated to the "delightful" experience of a virtual exam... conducted by some far-off, presumably mystical optometrist who was not, in fact, in the store with us. "Okay," we thought, "maybe this is the new wave. Trust the process." Fast forward to picking up our glasses, and wouldn't you know it? Both prescriptions were wrong. The "everyday use" pair was a no-go from the get-go--after 48 hours, he still couldn't wear them for more than a few minutes without his eyes staging a rebellion. And the "computer" pair? After a full 8-hour workday? A complete joke. Naturally, we head back to the store for a refund. They "graciously refunded" the two glasses but (shocker) they kept the $115 for their VIRTUAL "eye examination" and the extra $79 for something they bill as "OCT Evaluation." A quick reminder: none of these fees actually helped us get the right prescriptions, but hey, we're apparently paying for the privilege of their incompetence. So, here's the gist: Staton Optical - Fair Oaks is happy to charge you for bad service, bad products, and a complete waste of your time (4 hours of our time and $194.00 wasted on useless exams). At this point, I'd recommend you trust the process of going anywhere else. It's truly amazing that they can get both the doctor and the glasses wrong, but somehow still find a way to charge you for it. FFS

Fast forward two weeks and I'm two days away from pick up, I'm ready! I get a call, same person, she can't do the prescription, the lenses and the frames just won't work, they're basically useless. My wife called Eagle Eye Care, and they got me in the very next day for an emergency appointment. I've been coming here for at least 5 years, and normally it's been great--but my last two visits? Not so much. I ordered Rx sunglasses and didn't get the original lenses. Was told they don't do that, which confused me because I've been getting the original lenses along side my Rx lenses for the previous 3 sunglass orders. Most recently, when I went to pick up my glasses, they couldn't find the case. I got handed a generic one that didn't even fit properly. Ask for another one, and they tried to hand me a soft sided case. And a lens wipe? Nope. "We don't do that anymore," I was told. The office used to give you a bag, a small bottle of lens cleaner, and a fresh lens wipe-felt like a little gift each time. Not sure if it's tariffs or what, but something's changed.

The technician who helped me choose frames didn't listen to what I was looking for and instead kept pushing her personal preferences--mainly designer brands like Gucci and Tom Ford. I clearly explained what I wanted, but she ignored it. I eventually found a frame myself, but the overall experience was so uncomfortable that I left before completing the order. A few days later, I returned and asked for a different technician. I completed my purchase and paid over $500 for my glasses. After waiting about 2 1/2 weeks, I received a notification that they were ready for pickup. When I got there, I discovered the glasses were missing a nose pad that I had specifically requested and paid extra for. When I brought this up, instead of an apology, I was asked, "Let me check if you paid for it." It was clearly on the order and already paid. I was then told to wait for a manager to call me when she returned to work. No one called. I had to follow up myself the next day, and when I finally spoke with the manager, I was given the runaround with no real resolution or accountability. After many years as a loyal patient, this is incredibly disappointing. The lack of customer service, poor communication, and dismissive attitude are unacceptable. I will not be returning. She also fails miserably to upsell anything, and when she fails, becomes extremely salty. She treats people terribly and has the personality of a parsnip. I went back twice to have the glasses adjusted and each time I was greeted with the kindest employees from the front desk to Lynn who was the last employee to assist me in adjusting my glasses. Lynn was extremely professional, kind and non-judgmental. She was so patient with me and her attitude really stood out. To have someone so kind meant a great deal, especially when I was so insecure about the glasses fitting right. Her adjustments did the trick and I am one happy customer.
