The moment I walked it I knew everyone was friendly . That was the vibe I was getting. I met Dr. Bui who was educating a student who is going to school to become an optometrist . I agreed to have her in the room . Dr. Bui is passionate and very knowledgeable. I was shocked to find out my last eye doctor a year ago didn't assess my contact lenses right . The prior doctor made my left eye about a whole grade stronger . So Dr. Bui corrected this and so far my contacts are great . It's rare to find Drs who are so kind / passionate and professional. This is my very first yelp review. Only reason I'm writing one is because this place changed my life. Dr. Bui and staff are amazing! I was diagnosed with Keratoconus (rare eye disease) in 2007. My vision was deteriorating to the point where I was no longer able to drive or do anything normal using my vision. No eyeglasses worked because of my condition. Dr Bui was able to get a specific contact lens for me and now my vision is 20/20. It's like I'm looking at a whole new world. Extremely grateful for this place!!!! read more

I have been going here for over 5 years and my parter as well. The Dr. Does great thorough work. The group of ladies in the office treated you very well. However they have a new manager Makana who is very unprofessional. I have VSP insurance but they shouldn't matter. Every-time I go in she keeps asking me if I have medical assuming for whatever her reasons are that I do. She shouts is out loud. I also felt I got less service because she felt I had medical. She has brought the business down tremendously. I had to ask to sit down to try on my glasses just a terrible manager I hope Dr. Bui sees her business has dropped in customer service due to Makana and Makana alone. read more

They only get a star because Yelp! won't let you leave it at zero. The customer service here is poor at best. As a customer in between jobs I had to use my Medi Cal insurance. My daughter and her mother used to be patients here and had pretty good experiences. But maybe that's due to the insurance they have. When I first contacted them they said they don't take Medi Cal !!!! My daughters mom called them back then it changed. Ended up that there was some part of the exam that Medi Cal doesn't cover, which I said I would pay cash!! Then all of a sudden they take Medi Cal and could schedule me right away!! The lady in front was super flirtatious even though she clearly had on a wedding ring. She was more interested in talking than informing me of the time frame these glasses would be in. The Dr. was great at doing her job no pain or intrusiveness. Buuuuuut....3 months later still no glasses. I'd given them calls to check up with them. Same answer every time. Not to mention they are only open 3 days a week. The lady who answered was cheerful at first until she had to look up my patient file. Then it was down hill. Put me on a fake hold then clicked over to say,"Still no word...I can't even tell you when you can expect them." I admit I was frustrated but never once did I curse her or berate her. I said ,"it sounds like a crock of shit, I've used medical benefits before at other optometrists and it never has taken 90+ days for some plastic frames!!!!"The lady kept interrupting me while I was trying to ask her questions then hung up saying I was abusing her!!!! When I called back the flirtatious lady answered,(I only know it was her because she was Indian) and starts yelling at me. Saying she heard me disrespect her coworker and she was cancelling my prescription and I could come pick up a paper copy to go somewhere else. Mind you she was on an office phone not speakerphone. And I never raised my voice at her. I called back again and this time the Dr. answered. And was much nicer and informative but still denied Do not go here even for water if your clothes are on fire. They are utterly useless and ignorant to customer service. They grouped together and stood behind a woman who was disrespectful over the phone and discriminant against Medi Cal benefit users. read more

Called to make a first time appointment for myself with Dr.Bui for a simple refraction exam. No tests needed to be done. My Opthamologist no longer does a refraction exams and the optometrist in her office didnot have a convenient appointment date . I looked for an optometrist near my home on the net. I found Dr.Bui. I called the office to make an appointment. I asked if my insurance would be accepted. The woman said " I have no idea". I asked to speak to the Billing person. She denied that request and said she would find out and call me back. That was one week ago. Needless to say that gave me insight and fear that the optometrist owner and clinician would have the same attitude. There is an old saying "if the fish stinks, cut off it's head" I am looking for a new optometrist! read more

A few years ago, my son and I went to this place to an exam. Good exam and pleasant service at that time. Fast forward to today, i wanted to follow up with a check up to see if my or my sons prescriptions have changed, but for some reason the office has not called back. It boggles my mind at how unprofessional this place was. So for my first appointment there I had explained i wanted to purchase contact lenses and glasses as well. considering i have an astigmatism in both eyes this is a very expensive task. after seeing the doctor the receptionist totalled me up for the day. 1. she did NOT take my measurements for glasses, so when they arrived they really dont fit like they should 2. I gave her 90 dollars in cash and paid the rest on my card and she recorded it as only 70 and when i told her that I think she made a mistake she got defensive and stormed off to grab the money and recount it, she was indeed wrong. 3. she told me that if i bought a year supply of contact lenses that i would get a rebate form for anywhere from 70-100 dollars back. WELL SHE WAS WRONG because i have an ASTIGMATISM and the rebate was NOT for the brand i bought, so instead I only get 50 dollars back and i am out way more money then i wanted to be. All in all, i will NOT be going back here. read more

Just had my first eye exam here on the recommendation of a coworker and I can't believe I ever went anywhere else! If it wasn't for them losing my appointment that I'd made 3 weeks prior in their system this would be a 5-star review. That left a negative first impression. That being said, I was very impressed with Dr. Bui and the eye exam I recieved! The exam was very comprehensive, and Dr. Bui answered any questions I had with professionalism and tact. The front office staff were also very helpful when I was selecting my frames. The girl who assisted me gave honest opinions about whether a set of frames looked good on me or not and encouraged me to choose frames that my vision insurance would cover more of (making my out-of-pocket costs lower). The people are pleasant but don't expect anything in a timely manner. I had an appointment about a month ago. I have been calling and calling and I do not get a response. I just need my glasses. I just showed up and apparently one set was ready but my wifes was no where to be found. We never got a call or a call back saying one came in nor was my wifes even ready. Poor customer service. I had a great exam with the doctor and she suggested a particular lens. The front office person changed the doctor's recommendation. I called the same day questioning this and didn't get a call back. I called two weeks later asking about the status of my glasses. Nothing! No contact. I even submitted the survey back to the office after my initial office visit! I now have a pair of glasses I can only use for reading. They don't work for me in my office or for meetings. I could and should have gotten a $5 pair of readers from Walgreens. Terrible customer service! No return calls. And why ask for feedback from customers and not act when you get unfavorable results? There are too many options to ever go back here. I have never left an unfavorable review for any service. I always give people the benefit of the doubt. But this experience was ridiculous. read more

Last year I had my first visit with Dr. Bui and was impressed with how professional and complete my eye exam was. I was interested in the new bi-focal contact lenses and she made sure they were the right fit for me by first ordering samples and letting me try them and choose the ones I liked best. (I later learned that most Optometrist will not take the time to do this) This year it was almost time for my check up when I noticed my eyes were very blood shot. It was a Friday and I called her office first thing in the morning, the staff managed to get me in to see her by afternoon. Again the visit was very professional and I was very thankful to be able to pick up medication and be on the mend that very day. I recommended Dr. Bui to my sister and she was also pleased with the service she received. Don't expect a fancy office but do expect great service from a professional. read more

This is how bad this review is going to be, I haven't even been to this office. I had made an appointment on their website and was told I would receive a confirmation email, never got it. I have been calling non stop to ask if they would like me in sooner to fill out paper work, I needed to know if they were in network with my vision insurance. They do not do any reminder calls at least to find out if I even have an appointment. Nothing. I called 3 times today alone. This is horrible customer service. I am in the medical field and if there is one thing I know, people want call backs!!! Even if their voice message stated something like "due to high volume of calls, calls shall be returned with the next 2 business days" geez. There are way too many optometrists to have to waste time going to this one. read more

Absolutely amazing service from a great team. It was my first time there and I could not have been more pleased. Place was clean and organized and they had a pretty good selection. Although, I was looking for something (glasses) a little rare and hard to find. The receptionist was a great help and went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for. In the end, after searching for a needle in a haystack, there it was. The glasses I ended up loving were there on the shelf. After looking through boxes in the back and searching online she found me something I fell in love with. Eye exam was very smooth and straight forward and honest. I really felt the doctor and her team were really concerned with how I felt and made a real effort to make me comfortable. Now, just waiting for my spectacles to be delivered. :) read more

I've had such a good experience at this optometrist. Dr. Bui was wonderful!! She made me feel like I was her only patient of the day even thought she saw another patient while I waited for my eyes to dilate. I had to have special contacts ordered and they took longer to order than they originally told me, but I got a call right away saying they were going to be delayed. Then when the contacts finally came in I was out of town for 2 weeks. They told me it wasn't a problem for them to hold on to them and just to give them a call when I got back into town. I never heard any irritation in their voice when I talked to them. This was truly a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who asked. Won't go back because of their customer service. So I ordered a pair of frame glasses and they told me it would be ready in one week (it was a Friday and she said they would call by next Friday). But I waited for two weeks and they never called me back! I tried to call them twice but no one answered. Even left a voice message but they didn't reply at all. I was even a little worried because I've paid full price... Then the third week I visited them and the receptionist checked my information and said the glasses arrived yesterday and they gave me a call and apparently they made a wrong call...
