This office used to be really great and had high-end frames like Dior and Channel. They have moved to a bigger and better office across the street from their old one, and they no longer carry anything but your basic frames. Their other locations are said to carry a higher-end selection, so if you want more than your basic everyday frame, visit one of those. read more

I ordered glasses over a month ago and still have not received my glasses! I have called multiple times and been told they are not ready. Almost two weeks ago I was told the frames were received and being sent to the lab to put the lens in. This takes two weeks?!? Buyer beware! This is a shady business. I ordered glasses in October and I am still waiting for them to arrive. Apparently they have been in "AR coating" at the "lab" for the past two weeks. They were supposed to be here today ,November 28th, but they are still be "coated". If anyone believes that bullshit, I have a bridge to sell you. In a day and age when every street corner has an eyeglass shop where you can get your glasses the same day, the service at this shop is completely unacceptable. Stanton has the same bait and switch tactics the sleazy car dealers of years ago used. They lure you on with a $79 for two pair promotion. In my case with an exam and all the upgrades for my vision corrections that $79 turned into over $700. BTW the frames were not designer quality but cheap crap I could gave gotten through an on line seller for under $150 if I had the most current eye exam info. Needless to say I will never use these schmuck again or recommend them to anyone. How the California Attorney General hasn't investigated and shut them down long ago is beyond me. read more

I don't know why I always read bad reviews and think my experience will be the exception lol. I've been going to DR. Murphy for at least 20 years and I love him as my doctor and his cool pants. All of the women that were here today and my sisters were nice, pleasant and helpful! This bad review comes from how Brandon treated me. I think that was his name but I could be wrong.. he was the only guy there that I saw. First it started off bad bc the woman said Brandon can help me and he annoyingly said I'm on my lunch. That's fine enjoy your lunch lol you didn't have to help me. I came in bc I needed to get my glasses fixed and needed a trial pair of contacts bc I lost the last trial pair when cleaning it and didn't use them for a week as instructed. He literally would not give me my own prescription when I asked for it to be printed. He tried to tell me I didn't have a contact prescription on file and that I need to come back for another fitting. The woman at the front desk asked if I wanted my NEW or OLD prescription printed which insinuated that I had two that she could see. I've had contacts since 7th grade and have only gotten them here so I know that was a lie. I'm not sure why it was a huge deal to obtain my information and I shouldn't have had to do what I did to get this printed and sent to me at the end of the day. Posting the picture just to show I in fact DO have a current prescription and you could have just given me this information. You guys are allowed to have your medical information just fyi.. and when you get your contact prescription, do a google search to find next day contacts. They make it super easy to fill out online to order on your own and I saw that it's less expensive! They also verify your prescription, they are an authorized retailer of the brand I needed and they are regulated and monitored by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) read more

I was assisted by Janae , she is super helpful, her energy is ON POINT and you can tell that she truly enjoys the work that she does and that she cares about her patients. I appreciated how informed she was and how patient she was. When it came time to select my glasses I was assisted by Amber. I truly appreciated her patience in this process as I can be a little indecisive. She assisted me in finding a pair of frames that fit my face correctly and were within my budget. Their receptionist has always been welcoming. The person who did my pre-exam was very friendly and made me laugh (sorry, I didn't get their name!) Dr. Murphy was very informative and respectful, and he did a very thorough exam. Reina was the optician who helped me figure out what frames and lenses to order, and she was able to help me get more than I had expected for a much lower price, going out of her way to find something that worked for me. I've been coming here for a few years, and I'll keep coming back for years to come if it stays this good! read more

Still don't have my glasses. I was notified that they were back but they were still wrong. That was a week ago so I'm still waiting for the 3rd set of lenses to come back. I did email the office using the link on the website ( Contact our Team) and have never gotten a response. I have been keeping an eye on my spam folder and it hasn't been in there. Still frustrated. Today she was rude I was late but my wife was switching appointment cause I NEED glasses she's got some so if he couldn't see her she'd be on to come back a different day... In the past I've used this as my #1 go to for glasses. They used to be helpful beyond normal customer service. However I went with my friend this week and all new staff and customer service seems to be low on their totem pole. Darren in particular was rude and rushed us as if he had a more important issue to deal with besides ensuring my nearly $1000 glasses fit right. And they didn't...so I came back the next day to see if they could readjust them and I unfortunately got the same person with the same stinky attitude. I told him these don't seem to fit right and his response was in a rude tone when he said "so what do you want me to do?" I 've been going there for at least 10 years but because of him I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

UPDATE: My glasses came in a week before scheduled and picking them up took less than 2 minutes! Again, staff are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend ---- I have always had extremely pleasant experiences at Eye Designs! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. While their selection of glasses is smaller than some other eye boutiques, I have always preferred their frames over some of the bigger-name companies. Today I came in because I noticed a mark on my lens that I couldn't get rid of. The receptionist immediately greeted me warmly and sent out an optometrist in less than a minute to examine my glasses. After a quick inspection, she informed me that I did have a scratch on the lens but was able to quickly look up my account and determine that the glasses were still under warranty. My glasses are off to the lab for a free repair and should be back in two weeks (no sweat since I have back-up glasses)! I would recommend Eye Designs for anyone looking for designer frames and great customer service! read more

I've been going to this place for over 15 years. It is gotten so bad. They used to try to sell you crazy eye scans and the service was horrible. We thought we'd give them one last chance just to get an eye exam and we walked in the door five minutes before they opened because they left the door open there was no good morning just a we're not open! And then they chided is for not wearing a mask but when we asked is there a sign that says wear a mask all they could say is we're a medical place. I have tried reaching out to the shop. In fact, someone called me about two weeks ago regarding aunt to make a new appointment. I advised her I would not make an appointment because she lost my glasses. She did not understand what I was saying. She said they reimbursed me. Yes, they reimburse me for the glasses. I never got, but they never reimburse me for the frames they lost. I was texting the lady, and she stopped responding because she kept saying they reimburse me. Awful! They sent my frames off to get new lenses that was supposed to take 3-4 weeks. Over a month later we called to see where my glasses were, and they said they have had them for weeks but forgot to call us. When I brought them home, the lenses fell out immediately. I tried popping them back in, but they didn't fit quite right. The new lenses were the wrong shape and would not fit in the frames. When I called them on the phone, they were rude and basically hung up when we said we wanted a refund. When we went back in for a refund, they took my glasses and bent the frames trying to make the lenses fit (you can see in the photos). Instead of apologizing, the receptionist said "it's fine, they'll still fit your face." After arguing, they finally refunded us...half. We walked out with my old lenses in my old frames (now bent) with half of what we paid them, and not even an apology. We're going to Lens Crafters next time. They don't take my insurance, but they're 50 feet away in the same mall and I'd rather pay out of pocket for glasses than deal with this place ever again. Avoid this place. **Pictures show frames after being damaged when they tried to make their lenses fit when we asked for a refund. Originally their lenses were the wrong shape and would just pop out. Their answer was to damage my frames trying to make them fit. ***note*** Dr. at first appointment was nice and exam was great. 1 star. EVERYTHING after that was garbage. read more

All the staff is friendly. I was coming in on a Saturday afternoon tired. Janee was hilarious and upbeat. Energy was infectious and she made the experience fun and time flew by quickly. Dr. Vu Nguyen was very knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all my questions and I had something on the right of where the colored part of the eye. He eased my concerns with the scans and information shared. By the end of the session, I felt more energy leaving compared to when I came in. Overall, great experience! read more

Listen... I just had the most thorough, informative, accurate eye exam I've ever had in my entire life. I wanted to hug Dr. Murphy when I left- literally hug the guy. He diagnosed my persistent dry/itchy/blurry eye syndrome as a much more serious condition that had been overlooked during prior exams & then gave me reasonable options to treat it, he explained the entire exam in easily understandable language, and he wrote my very 1st progressive lens Rx so I wouldn't have to keep swapping out two pairs of single vision lensed glasses all day long while at work. I've never had service this good- even from another doctor at this same office 3 years ago- and I work for a vision insurance company! I'm never going to a different eye doctor again. Also, the ladies running the reception desk and optical dispensing are sweet and funny. And their frame selection is still pretty solid. read more

If only i could not give any star i would definitely not give one because this place don't deserve it. My supposedly 3rd pair from this store and they"re 1-2 hrs drive depending on traffic. Have sent friends to this store but here's my story: Found a pair that i liked. A male employee was in charge of me was rushing and did not really explain to me my options and all but still i ordered it. Was told it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive. 2nd week called but was sarcastically told "it's only the 2nd week, wait til next week." Beginning of 3rd week called and told them i was going on a trip and hoping i could have them before then. I was offered they'll mail it but i declined coz i want to try them on first. 4th week when i came back called again and was told by a female employee that my glasses are still in the lab and that she'll call me back for ETA. End of the 4th week a male employee returned my call and said tat my frames just came in and that they will send it to the lab. 5th week called and was told that my glasses are in "final inspection" and it should arrive in 2-3 days. On 3rd day called and was told that they will arrive beginning of the 6th week. Called wednesday of the 6th week and stlill not available. Called end of 6th week and was told it will arrive in the middle of the 7th week. Ending... no glasses after 7 weeks wait. They made me wait this long with an old broken and scratched pair that was giving me a headache since my prescripion has changed. I could definitely have gone somewhere else had they been honest with me. Even had rude interactions with employee named Dosha in a couple of my phone calls. At least have the decency to be nice to your customers especially on this case. Overall, very poor customer service and service in general. Never ever going back. Will never ever recommend to my friends. They're branch in Roseville closed, they should be next. read more

I have been with Eye Designs for a couple of years now mainly for their flexible hours of opening until 6pm. NOW, because of the pandemic and so forth, they have reduced their hours which is totally understandable. Yet, I still am with them because they have are so easy to talk to and their practice of social distancing and store protocol is on point. I absolutely love the fact that they have made it so much more safer for the clients and themselves by having us make appointments to go in and locking the doors so there are no walk ins. They have us call them to let them know that we are outside for our appointment so they can let us in and then they take out temperature. I have no issues whatsoever with this. I don't know how others are operating their businesses but this is the way to go for me. I will continue to support and go to this business for everything I need that is eye related lol. Staff is friendly and very welcoming. Everybody seems to always be doing something which is good because that means they are working and not just lounging around. Kudos to this team! read more

I'm not one who enjoys wearing glasses, whether as a fashion statement or out of necessity. Caring for expensive glasses is a burden similar to carrying around a little animal all the time. I must place them carefully in there little case, make sure not to drop them, etc. Anyway, I'm bitching. There are real problems in the world, right? It took me over a year before I stepped into Eye Designs to make an appointment. Fortunately, my experience couldn't have gone smoother. Despite the crowd of people in the little lobby, I was promptly ushered into an office and treated to a very thorough examination. I then spent an enjoyable half hour picking out glasses with a woman who obviously enjoys what she does. I left in a very positive mood. I begrudgingly admit that I looked forward to the date my glasses arrived. When I picked them up they made sure to straighten them and give me additional cases and wipes. I will never look forward to wearing glasses, but the experience of getting them was about as painless as possible. read more

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST. Very unorganized, insufficient waiting area, and not worthy of the single star rating. Should have went with my instinct as soon as I pulled into the parking (of the Arden Fair Mall). I was a first time patient and transferring from a different optometrist (a very good one) and took the bait based on a recommendation. My initial appointment was at 11am, filled out some paperwork and then waited 40 minutes before my examination started. The doctor was awesome, super nice and offered great explanation of overall vision health. After the exam, I then waited another 25 minutes to pick frames. My insurance (VSP) gave me a discount, but nowhere near what I experience at my previous eye care specialist. Nonetheless, I was told that it would be about 2 weeks before my glasses would be ready. I asked why so long (previous eye care specialist had me seeing in a week) and was told that all the people in one of the labs they used quit. I was charged a total of $112.00 for the exam and glasses. Three weeks later I called because I had not heard from them. I was on hold for about 5 minutes then the lady told me that my glasses had not yet arrived and normally it takes three weeks or more. She told me they would call me the moment they came in. A couple days later, I called back because I was going out of town and hoped to pick up my specs before I leave. This time I was told that the glasses just arrived and they needed to do some type of quality assurance check before they would be ready for pick up. With that, they said they would have someone call me in about 20 minutes. Never happened. An hour later I called again and they told me I can pick them up anytime. When I arrived (no appointment) I was told there was one person ahead of me. 25 minutes later, I was seated for a fitting. My glasses were fine, but then I was told that the under charged me and I have an additional $15.00 due. I paid it. They gave me an eyeglass case that was way to big for the glasses and told me to come back in a week when they receive more cases to trade for a smaller one. They didn't even offer a lense cloth. If there was any positivity about this experience, all of the staff are extremely nice and friendly, but that doesn't replace otherwise horrible customer service. read more

This store is one of the few businesses that still believes in customer service, taking ownership of a mistake and making the situation better. Mistakes happen. Most businesses just shrug the situation off and avoid making things right for the customer. I have been coming to this office for approximately 2 years and never had any complaints. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable in the products they carry. They also helped me choose a frame that worked out with my big head!! The doctor that helped me out with my eye exam was also kind enough to take the time to "help" me and answer any questions I had during my exam. She did not just rush me in and out like the previous offices I have gone to. There was a slight wait (5-10 minutes) for me to be seen but what office doesn't have a slight wait when they are busy from customers who walk in or dealing with another customer on the phone?! I would definitely continue having my eye exams at this location due to the extremely friendly and professional staff at this office. read more

I first had an appointment with LensCrafters, but after being told they never heard of my insurance and not meeting my needs, I decided to call around and keep shopping. I then came across eye designs called and asked them if they would accept my insurance. The person on the phone said come in and we will take care of everything. She was able to schedule an appointment, which I was finally relieved as I have been calling around all day. 20 mins later after all paperwork was finished and meeting with the doctor, I was then ready to pick out my frames. They helped me pick out a frame that was in my range and didn't push me to buy something I didn't feel comfortable in. My husband orders his contacts from Eye Designs because they are usually in stock. We've never had issues with the Doctors themselves, however front desk seems to be the downfall! An order is always placed for my husbands contacts and we're always advised of the waiting period and that they will call us as soon as they're ready for pick up - great! Two weeks has gone by and not one call. I finally manage to call yesterday and the lady who took my call had put me on hold not once but 6 times within a 5minute period!!! I was put on hold 4 times before she finally decided to ask for my husbands details and then the last time I was put on hold she came back with "the number we had on file is disconnected" hence why there was no call - UH NO, it's not it's the same number he's had on your file for the past 2years we've been using your service! Based of this appalling service/call alone my husband and I will not be returning once we pick up his contacts! UNSATISFACTORY FRONT DESK SERVICE! read more

I called in search of a very specific frame and they answered immediately. The front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable and provided me with the exact information I needed, scheduled me a same day appointment for me to try on the frames that I was searching for. When I arrived, I was assisted immediately. My optometrist assistant had to schedule another appointment for me to come back for an eye exam since my prescription expired but she was kind enough to order me a brand new frame ahead of time so it would help reduce the turn around time. She also let me know that ordering it would take a lot longer than purchasing the one in store but since I'm so picky I was totally okay with it. I will be back in a few days and hopefully my experience is still just as great at today. read more

We went in trying to get a year of contacts along with exam. We were given the exam and a price and assured that is for a 1 year supply. When we went to pick them up it was for 6 months. I called and they assured me they ordered for a year and would call me back. They next callback they apologized IF we were told it was for a year but they didn't tell us that. Mind you it was the same person who an hour before that said it was for a year. I asked them to match the price that we would get it for online and they refused to do that. They refused to let me speak with a manager and blamed their error on the doctor. We were asking for them to make it right for their mistakes and they refused. We now have to pay out of pocket for another 6 months as they used our insurance already. I will not be giving them our business again. read more

Eye Designs' Arden location is great. They helped me update my insurance and got me an appointment the following day! The lady on the phone was friendly and knew what she was doing. The optics specialist, I think her name is Laurie, is incredible. I needed contacts and computer glasses, and knowing my insurance won't cover both, she walked me through all of my options several times. I did not feel rushed and I never felt pressured to buy anything. She made me feel totally at ease. The actual appointments with the doctors are brief and to-the-point. But I don't need a flowery conversation to get the information I need. My only complaint is the price. It can get expensive very quickly. But I'm not sure how much different that is from anywhere else. read more

Stanton has improved more than 100%since I purchased my first pair of glasses @stanton everything has improved in regards to lenses and even the frames, I wear no line bi focals and they always have to adjusted when you first get them well I'll tell these required NO ADJUSTMENT right out of box absolutely perfect I was amazed after 30 years of style and NO ADJUSTMENT!! they even gave me a free lense up grade... recommended these guys to anyone!!
